What's going on everybody? Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Vile Files
Reality Recap Edition. I am your host Nick and hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday. We have a great show lined up for you later this episode. Laura Lee and
Manny MUA will be joining us to talk all things pop culture, some reality TV.
They're big fans of all of the above and I think recently they were on a plane
with some of the Love Island people so maybe they have some tea what's going on
in that world. Also later the episode, George Burge is with us,
who recently we saw make a little cameo
when we saw Lana Del Rey over at Stagecoach.
He came on stage, performed with her,
and so we're like, hey, if you're in town,
come stop by and say hi.
And he is, and we will be talking to him later this episode,
but before we get into all of that,
we watched The Valley last night.
I'm obsessed with the show.
It's really good.
It's almost a phone down show.
And I don't say that a lot about a lot of reality TV
because honestly, you can kind of check in, check out,
rewind, but you really gotta pay attention to this one.
So much is happening in every scene
and I'm just like, wait, wait, Michelle said what?
Jax, what, you're going where?
Is Michelle as toxic as Jesse?
Honestly, yeah, they're both like,
I think they're both on the same even playing field.
I was like doing a vote for who can stay in a house
that he rented, like putting your friends
in that toxic environment where it's like,
okay, we can't even be in the same place with you guys.
And then like breaking down when they don't choose you.
It was like, well, yeah, I mean, it's his trip.
She's like, yeah, I don't care.
Yeah, that doesn't matter.
Where does it not matter?
I mean, if you're gonna pick a fight, at least a-
A fair one.
Yeah, I mean, not even fair.
It's just more like, give yourself a chance to win,
where it's just like, he did pay for it.
I do wish she would have like confronted him
at Dave and Buster's about the text,
but maybe we'll get that in Santa Barbara, but it's like.
But like, was I the only one that lost my mind
when it was like a joke?
Yeah, it was crazy.
Yeah.
You lost your mind at Jesse.
Well, I just lost my mind in general.
Yeah, because I was just like, okay,
you said something so disgusting about your wife,
soon to be ex-wife, to figure out who the mole was?
No, wait, first of all, it was a lie.
It was a lie.
I don't think that was a lie.
Yes, it was.
You don't think it was a lie?
No, no, I don't think that he did it to figure out who the mole was.
Of course not.
Yes, of course not.
Yeah, he used that, yeah.
After he got caught.
These are not sophisticated, covert men.
If they really thought a mole was in the group, they would just start asking around.
thought a mole was in the group, they would just start asking around. And to Nia's point, many of these husbands have wives and partners who have their cell phones. So this is not
like a locked state secret, like secret security group chat that no one's getting into if you
know what I'm saying? And at this point in your life, if you really have a boy's group
chat that somehow is like, you're discussing things that your wife
shouldn't know about, grow the fuck up.
Literally, so icky, and he's like,
it's like 20 guys in this group chat,
and I was like, no, no, no, no.
There is, I really, I do want to meet Jesse.
I've invited him on this show.
We'll see if he actually comes.
I will say to his credit, I don't know if he's paid
attention to what we've said about him.
He has replied, he's shown an interest,
and then he got a little...
Quiet?
Got a little quiet, not sure, but like, I just, every episode,
he does something that I honestly just like,
is he just doing it for the bit?
You know, is it like, his friend is Jax Taylor,
and maybe Jax has had him down and been like,
listen man, it's all a game, it's all fake.
Like, if you're fine with people thinking you're one
of the worst men on this planet, you can have a job
and be on TV and like, yeah, it's all, you know,
is he doing that?
Because honestly, some of the stuff he does
is so off-putting and so gross and disgusting.
I just can't, I can't, does he watch,
does he do this show, watch the show
and hope that some people are his fans?
You know, like is he?
I'm like, are you going the Spencer Pratt round
and being like, I will be the biggest villain in the world
and have everyone hate me to love me?
I don't, I didn't watch Spencer Pratt
back in the early 2000s,
but was he a misogynistic pig towards his wife?
Absolutely not, if anything,
people thought he was like controlling
because he's trying to protect Heidi, but it was doing the most,
being like, you can't watch the show back,
you can't da-da-da, it's not good for you,
but then everyone's like, he's a fucking monster,
and then come to find out that he's actually
just loved his wife and his partner.
Yeah, so I'm trying to figure out
what are we misreading about Jesse.
You know what I'm saying?
If fast forward 10 years from now,
he's still in the reality TV game
and he's outside of the valley.
Like, what is?
I don't know.
I feel like it's just like that person
that you don't wanna get into a conversation
without a party.
Like it's just like, wait, what the fuck
just came out of your mouth?
Jesse to me gives like watched entourage and took notes.
Yeah. You know what I mean?
Took it to heart.
Yeah. You know when somebody, you just realize somebody
views things in a completely different way than you?
I think that might just be Jesse.
Him sitting at that table with Kristen and Luke,
like giving the whole like,
and then I found the honey in my pantry
and what did I do next?
I found him on social media and what was in his bio?
The honey company and guess what?
He gets the honey comes from Runyon.
Guess who's going to Runyon every morning? Michelle. It was like, he's like playing this like FBI game. It was crazy.
He thinks he's going to find Shakira's jam. Also, a lot of people wear makeup on Runyon Canyon.
Just putting that out there. That's what Kristen said. I was like, girl, that's not true.
That is true. Yeah. Everyone in LA is wearing makeup on Runyon. They're hoping they're getting
discovered on Runyon. They're taking pictures, they're vlogging,
everyone's wearing makeup, it's a fashion show.
They're hoping they bump into a director.
The nerve to criticize Michelle's emotional maturity
or lack of growth.
And it's just like you're spending all your time
deep diving Instagram to try to prove that your ex-wife
who clearly hates you, clearly hates you,
you know she hates you, she can't say I hate my ex-wife, who clearly hates you, clearly hates you, you know she hates you,
she can't say, I hate my ex-husband enough.
So it's like, what are you trying to prove?
And the only thing I think he's trying to do
is what Michelle says over and over,
is to try to make her life as miserable as possible
and make the world hate her instead of her hating Jesse.
And I'm just trying to figure out
what part of that is like growth.
Absolutely none of it.
It's actually wild to watch him criticize
where it's like you literally are planting seeds
where it's like, well, if it's not that she cheated on me
multiple times during our marriage,
then how about she's a prostitute?
Literally.
Like it's just like, he's like, something will stick.
Something will hurt her.
Something will ruin her job, ruin her life, he's like, something will stick. Something will hurt her.
Something will ruin her job, ruin her life, make her boyfriend break up with her.
And it's just like, it's so obvious.
And that's why even him not going up and talking to her after the rumor was exposed.
It's just like, you don't care.
You just want to cause as much destruction as possible and say hands free.
Also Janet, looking at Michelle sobbing in the corner and then continuing to like dance at her coin machine game was
We all know that girl.
We all know that girl.
It's my birthday!
Literally, it's my birthday.
Why didn't they just go to a casino? These are adults. Why are they going to Dave and Buster?
Janet never known them.
With Janet, it's not about winning money. It's all about control.
It's all about like getting everyone to do what she likes to do
and have fun, and she doesn't care about winning money.
She cares about, again, I'm pretty sure she was being
serious when she's like, all right, step one, we do this.
Step two, we look at the prizes, we wanna see if we can earn.
And then we go and find the games that is easiest to earn.
Also the prizes she wanted, the Dave and Buster's drone.
Like what are you doing with a Dave and Buster's drone?
How do you have to record?
What was the, what was the-
Go to the wrong go.
What was the-
Ding ding ding neon light.
Where are you putting that?
In your baby's room?
Literally.
No, but she wants to do it so she can like-
Be like, I won the most prizes at Dave and Buster's.
Like could you imagine taking that tour of the house?
The level of insufferability from that person.
I kind of love her.
She's a monster.
Exactly.
What is she doing with these prizes?
I need to know.
It's like I just watch her on TV.
Like...
No, she wants to win this so she can feel better than you.
Yeah.
Oh, you didn't get a neon sign?
You got a stuffed animal?
Better luck next time. You got a stuffed animal? Better luck next time.
You got a rope bracelet?
I'm gonna think who would we clue?
You have.
It's like if Sheena is like at best chaotic good,
we can say.
They are the yin and yang.
Yeah, Janet is chaotic evil.
She's friends with Sheena, that was her introduction.
Yeah.
Well, and did you see that Kristen was saying
that Janet was introduced to her as a fan?
And that's what we have in the teaser,
her being like, you're just a fan.
Which is like-
Makes sense.
She does call her crazy Kristen.
And like, you wouldn't call a woman who like,
is how many years removed from Vanderpump,
is like in a stable relationship,
trying to get pregnant, trying to have a family, like seemingly very much different
from that version of her life,
and then try to like call back and be like,
oh, you're such crazy Kristen.
It's like Kristen's right to be like, okay, you're a fan.
Like you're proving my point.
Now there is an episode of Vanderpump Rules,
and I did feel bad for her at the time,
but Sheena invites all the girls over
to get their dresses, their uniforms for Sir Hemed,
and Janet's doing the hemming,
but it's like they give Janet all of the dresses,
and then all the girls go sit on the couch in kiki,
and then she's just over there, seeing her sing.
Oh my God.
So she's getting a revenge.
Like, this is Janet's revenge.
The thing about the Vanderpump cast,
and it originates, obviously, the Valley, is essentially a spino about the Vanderpump cast, because it originates, obviously,
the Valley is essentially a spin-off
of Vanderpump in a weird way,
but there are some people in the Vanderpump cast
who have made friends with fans
and they surround themselves with these fans
and become friends with the fans,
but there's clearly a level of like,
these are my friends, but my friends are,
you know, it's like an entourage.
It's like they-
Yeah, my posse.
Yeah, it's not their equals, it is their fan friends.
And then like over time,
and then there's this like weird dynamic,
and that seems to be Janet.
Well, and that would be scary for me
being on a show for that long and whatnot,
and making new friends, is because I'm like,
was that your goal the whole time?
Or is it like, could you come, like almost Stockholm syndrome, where it's just like, well, we've been friends for that long and whatnot and making new friends is because I'm like, was that your goal the whole time? Or is it like, could you come,
it's like almost Stockholm syndrome where it's just like,
well, we've been friends for so long,
now I'm happy that you have a show,
but like, could that have not been the goal the whole time?
And like the fact that Janet is on the Valley
and Sheena is not, and now it's like Sheena's off Vanderpump
and not on the Valley, it's like, oh, I wonder if there's any.
Bring in Sheena, they can fight.
I think they're all still like, cool.
Yeah, okay, we'll stop being cool.
Literally, hate each other, we need a fight.
No, it's like, have you guys seen Dark Knight Batman?
When the Joker, he brings in the two guys,
he breaks the pool stick and he says,
all right, there's one job available.
Whoever kills the other person wins the job.
And Andy, please televise it.
Do you remember Janet used to be
like the fan favorite last season?
What, she?
She was until the finale released.
She had the pregnant pass, that's not a fan favorite.
No, she was never a fan favorite.
It was like she's pregnant and we can't make fun.
Who loved her?
Nobody.
A lot of people love Janet.
You can't deny that.
The internet loved her until the finale. I don't know what your outgrew? Nobody. A lot of people love Janet. No. You can't deny that.
The internet loved her until like the finale.
I don't know what your algorithm is.
I'm not denying it.
I am unaware of that reality.
Yeah, my algorithm was pretty much why is she on the show.
As a pregnant woman watching Janet on the Valley,
I hated her even more.
Yeah.
Why?
Yeah, cause she would start shitting and be like,
I'm pregnant.
Yeah.
I get it, people don't get these passes.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Like I can't just go be a raging bitch and get a pass.
Yeah.
You can't say anything.
Don't stress me out.
I'm pregnant.
Can you show a baby how to fight your...
Would you imagine?
Like...
No, I can.
Yeah.
I would honestly wish I would have used that more.
Yeah.
You're a stupid bitch, but you can't say shit back to me
because you can't stress me out.
I'm pregnant.
Literally.
I'm pregnant.
Don't say that.
Maybe that's why it bothered me because I was like,
I should be using this as an excuse more.
Like, what am I doing?
Well, then people would hate you.
Yeah.
Like fucking Leia.
Because it's like, you know, obviously we know
that like we have to be kind to the pregnant people
out there and it's kind of like,
but we're talking shit behind your back.
But you're talking shit behind our back
and then you're saying it's not fair game.
Like it's like, you're attacking my character,
everything, I'm not talking about your baby.
And then she even made up a whole thing about like,
Kristen wanting her not to come to full term and everything.
It's like, you're evil for that.
No, that was evil.
That was truly pure evil.
Team Kristen all the fucking way.
Do you guys think that Luke looks like
it's a pink self portrait?
It was a panty.
You know, as someone who's met Luke in person,
after I've seen him on TV, he's a handsome man. Yeah. He's a tall, good looking guy. He's a canny. Also, as someone who's met Luke in person, after I've seen him on TV, he's a handsome man.
Yeah.
He's a tall, good looking guy.
He's a handsome man.
He looks good on Watch What Happens Live, too.
He looks like, I don't know if this is common,
but he's better looking in person than he is on TV.
I haven't met Jesse in person, but short.
Danny, short.
Also, wait a second, why didn't we just like glaze over Danny grabbing Melissa's ass and
like saying get daddy a drink?
We just like glazed over that.
Like where was Nia?
Where was the fight?
Where was this like?
We're upset that he repeated something from a group chat when he's over here putting his
hand on someone's thigh calling himself daddy.
And grabbing an ass?
That was shocking.
And then they just show like a a quick flashback of being confronted.
We've all met a Danny.
And honestly, Jesse was that guy who's like,
he's seemingly the quiet family man,
but when he drinks, he gets real close,
puts you in a headlock
because he wants to close talk with you
and just get up in your shit and
just get real aggressive, but you can tell this person's just fucked up and hammered.
Just not there.
Just not there. And they're just become the most obnoxious drunk in the world. I've met that guy
several times and I kind of fucking hate him. Yeah.
Yeah. And then he was like, that's out of my character. But the thing is though, it's like, is it the,
like how many times do you get to do something
before it's like.
It's a part of you.
Or you shouldn't drink.
Like he almost has four children.
And like, you're still getting drunk
and grabbing someone's ass who's like not your wife.
Yeah, and it was also weird how like Jessie
was kind of trying to explain it being like,
you know, but he doesn't get after work drinks
and he doesn't get to go to happy hour
cause he's got kids and it's like, so he just smashes drinks
to the face the one night that he does
and gets himself in inappropriate trouble.
That was crazy.
I would have loved to have over her Nia rip him a new one
cause I know she did.
Right?
That's very embarrassing for her.
But I feel like there's also stuff coming
cause I saw her like getting upset,
leaving it's like storming out of a table and whatnot.
And I wonder if it is involving Danny's behavior.
We saw the first season where he would get drunk
and she would kind of be like,
it's time for us to go, it's time for us to go,
we're leaving.
She was very protective.
It's like she knows how he gets when he's drunk
and she's like, you're not about to do this on TV,
we're getting the fuck out of here, we're going home.
And is he really just, is Jesse right?
Where he like has a drink and then sneaks off
and takes a couple shots.
Like, is that really going on?
It's hard to know,
because I also don't trust anything
that comes out of Jesse's mouth.
Where I'm like, you're not the one to be talking
about people's behaviors, are you?
Literally.
Like.
It was shocking.
But I do think Luke is the best looking guy in this group.
Honestly, and he's like the healthiest. And I love think Luke is the best looking guy in this group.
Honestly, and he's like the healthiest.
And I love that he's just honest and he's just like, bro.
Forget about his macho, I'm just straight vanity.
Yes.
He's the hottest guy.
And I think he deserves that credit.
And honestly, good for Kristin.
She deserves the hottest guy.
Kristin's in the healthiest relationship,
has the hottest man on the show,
like about to get her family.
Which also really pisses off Janet.
Oh, for sure.
Because like when she was trying to like gas up Jason,
I'm just so lucky to have you and you know,
it's like, what did he do?
Even Jason was like, I drove 30 minutes, dropped him off.
She's like, no, but like you,
what you do for your friends is so special.
And he's like, yeah, all right, well, I gotta go.
So he was like uncomfortable with it. He was like, all right, you're being weird. And again, like, yeah, all right, well, I gotta go. So, he was like uncomfortable with it.
He was like, all right, you're being weird.
And again, when it comes to Jax,
I just don't know why anyone deserves a pen on the back
for anything they're doing for or with Jax.
Because at just at this stage in the game,
if you really are a friend to this guy,
like why isn't anyone just being like,
aren't you tired of being a loser?
You know, just like at what point do you just being like, aren't you tired of being a loser? Just at what point do you just say,
aren't you tired of being this person?
It just feels though like he doesn't take that in.
He's incapable of taking criticism about himself at all
or making changes because it's like people are keep saying,
you got violent, you did things
that you should be ashamed of.
And he's like, yeah, but she's fucking someone.
And it's like, bro,
that's not what the conversation is about. Yeah, sometimes you have to, that's the thing. And he's like, yeah, but she's fucking someone. And it's like, bro, that's not what the conversation is about.
Yeah, sometimes you have to, that's the thing.
And that's where I do criticize Brittany though.
I don't, I think, like Jessie and Michelle,
like someone has to be the bigger person.
I feel like Brittany has been for the longest time.
And like she's protected him.
She hasn't said shit on camera when she could have.
And this is the first season where she's like.
She has said a plenty in the past year.
What do you mean?
Yeah, I mean, comments online, interviews.
I mean, Jax is far worse than Brittany could ever be.
Of course, no, no, they can both be toxic.
They both can be the problem.
Like Michelle and Jesse, they're both the problem.
Jax is clearly a problem and the problem.
But yeah, when you go on national television
and start trolling your husband
about like his poor performance in bed
that you didn't watch What Happens Live,
it's like, it's a choice.
Andy asked a question.
Sure.
She complimented him in the beginning
and she said, when he's at his best,
he's a eight or nine, which that's pretty damn good.
What are the chances that brings in?
And he's also a Coke addict.
So I'm sure when he is on coke,
he probably is a fucking one and two.
But like her saying that, do you think that's gonna bring
peace into her life and make her life easier or harder?
Easier.
Yeah, honestly.
She said the quiet part out loud.
Literally, and now we've said it.
And she's been protecting this man for so fucking long,
it probably feels so good for her to just be like,
I don't give a fuck, yeah, he sucks in bed,
and he has a little dick. Now we've said it. It probably feels so good for her to just be like, I don't give a fuck. Yeah, he sucks in bed and he has a little dick.
I guess.
It probably feels really good.
I'm sure it does.
This is, yeah, temporarily.
I think Jax would get mad at her for anything she says.
And so I don't think she, if she said, look,
he's an eight or nine when he's good,
he would have been like, what the fuck?
I'm not a fucking 10.
Like he would have been pissed at that, you know?
Like there's nothing Brittany can do will make Jax happy and make Jax be nice to her,
so like why not just tell the truth?
Live for yourself.
Yeah, also.
I agree with that.
I mean, listen, I'm just saying, like,
eventually, you go on TV and you act this way, like.
How is she acting?
Everyone on this, I'm just saying,
it is hard for me to have empathy for anyone on this show
about protecting their peace.
Sometimes talking your shit is peaceful.
Yeah, sure.
Talking your shit is protecting your peace.
Yeah.
It's also healthy for you.
You need to be able to like let out these emotions or it's going to affect your health.
And she did make it clear.
Call therapy.
And she made it clear they're never getting back together.
So at this point she does not give a fuck.
And I support it. J, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna. And I think Jack's made her life hell for 10 years.
I don't think you know what her life is like.
Yeah, so I don't think you can sit there and be like,
oh, this is making her life harder when it might not be.
Might not, yeah.
But yeah, pretty sure it is.
I do have a question though.
In the episode, Michelle says that what Jesse's doing
is worse than Jack's and she doesn't understand why her friends
don't have her back and everybody has Brittany's back.
What do we think about that?
Like who's worse, Jessie or Jax?
I mean.
Why pit two queens against each other?
Ha ha ha ha ha.
Michelle brought it up, not me.
Of toxicity.
I'm sure, I bet in Michelle's world, yeah, probably,
in this moment and time when she says it,
Jax is in therapy, seemingly,
and she and Jessie's out there calling her an escort.
Yeah.
And I think I empathize with Michelle in that regard
because Jax is so needy, not only with Brittany,
but with his friends, that he does, in a weird way,
victimize himself constantly,
and now he's in a weird way, victimize himself constantly. And now he's like in a weird way,
getting some kind of sympathy,
even though like he is Jax Taylor
and kind of like an emotional terrorist.
And like, Jesse is just like in his kind of coming out party
as an emotional terrorist.
So, yeah.
Hold my beer.
That's how I feel like I'm watching things.
I'm just like, I think Jesse's more diabolical.
I think it's like that was calculated,
dropping little rumors and putting things out there
in hopes that it's spread, but it's like,
I'm not the problem, because I said that in a safe space
and that was supposed to be said in confidence.
Like, Jax is just like a bull in a china shop.
It's just like, the chaos is happening,
but you can kind of see where it's coming from,
why it was caused, why he's doing what he's doing,
where like Jesse, it's just like pretending
that he's a good guy, even though he is the villain.
Does that make sense?
Yeah, also with Jax,
he probably does have some mental health problems.
100%, he's like diagnosed bipolar, I believe.
I mean, I don't know what to believe when it comes to Jax,
but like his behavior suggests someone who is like-
Well, on the phone call with his sister-
Emotionally unpredictable.
His sister was like, you know,
we have this history in our family,
and you have the past of getting manic.
So I'm like, he obviously is aware that like,
there are things that trigger him that he may not be
fully in control of himself while he's acting out.
But I'm-
So like, and then you have Brittany whose son
has recently diagnosed his autism,
which obviously it can be very challenging for parents.
And like, there's just extra work.
Meanwhile, she has a husband who's in rehab
and she literally is all on her own.
And while Jessie might be an emotional terrorist,
Michelle is making her life also harder
by playing these games.
Just don't go to Santa Barbara, plan your own trip.
That's what I would do.
Or plan the trip the same weekend.
If you wanna be petty, take a page out of
Jacks Taylor's book, make a party the same day
as their weekend.
But like being like, he has to stay at a hotel, but he can be a part of all of the activities.
Like that's crazy. It's his trip.
It's a great show.
It's a great show.
Until next week, I guess. And apparently they are filming the reunion this Friday, which
I think is probably earlier than they usually do. But because Kristin and Nia are like about
to have their babies.
They're recording it this weekend, so.
Maybe there'll be tea from them.
Yeah, well, Nia and Danny will have to drive in
from Santa Clarita.
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
They also didn't have a reunion last season.
They actually closed on their house.
They did?
They closed on a $1.3 million home in Santa Clarita.
And it's really cute.
Because honestly, when they show where they live and it's like the apartment building and all these kids, it's like,. Because honestly, like when they shot, and you know, when they show like where they live
and it's like the apartment building and all these kids,
it's like, wow, they're tight.
Your neighbors hate you.
My neighbors or theirs?
Theirs.
All right, up next, Laura Lee and Manny MUA.
We have some huge news to share with you this episode.
One of our favorite supplement brands, Symbiotica,
just dropped the first ever liquid colostrum.
The flavor is vanilla sea salt
and tastes just like cake batter.
It's so delicious that it's hard to believe
that it's truly good for you.
What is it?
Colostrum is the first milk produced by mammals
after giving birth.
It's essentially nature's first superfood
packed with essential vitamins, minerals,
and growth factors that are key for longevity.
If you struggle with gut issues or want glowy skin,
healthy hair, and strong nails,
this is the product for you.
What I know is that the doctors literally call it
liquid gold, and now it could be yours too.
It makes sense why so many people are talking about
colostrum and Symbiotica just set the new standard.
No more four scoops a day, just one liquid packet,
and you're good to go.
I know how important colostrum was for River
when she was a newborn and I honestly was always like,
if it's so good for River, like I need to be taking this
and I'm so glad that Symbiotica has come out
with this product because it is so good and easy to take.
Symbiotica's liquid colostrum stands out as a full,
raw, unprocessed complex unlike many others on the market.
They source their bovine colostrum directly
from a family-owned farm of grass-fed cows in California.
This makes it the most bioavailable option you can find. Most importantly, they
stand by the calves first promise, meaning the baby calves get all the
colostrum they need from their mother first. Symbiotica did it again. They never
compromise on quality and it's something you can truly taste and feel in every
packet. Try Symbiotica's Liquid Colostrum today with this special deal for our listeners.

Good.
Thank you for having us.
Welcome back, Jenny.
I know, I know.
And welcome to the show, Laura.
I love that, thank you for having me.
It's good to be with you guys.
I heard that you guys,
you were at Stagecoach or Coachella?
It's Coachella.
It's Coachella.
And you guys were on the same plane
as some of the Love Island people?
Yes we were.
Who were you on a plane with okay?
live oh
Jena and then all their men and Kenny and then he was there Kenny was there still very much in love. They're very
Very honestly, so like I love seeing them together when the plane took off. They were holding hands and I was like
No, I was they were like this because he I guess he's like a scared fire and they were holding hands and I was like... I was like, I didn't get you too! No, I was! They were like this, because I guess he's like a scarecrow and they're like this.
One of them was scared.
I was literally like, I was like, Laura, get your head.
Yeah, yeah, that knew it was me.
Who was scared?
I don't know.
Was it Kenny? I feel like it was J'Nay.
No, it was Kenny.
It was Kenny.
He was like, I was like this.
Remind me, remind me of...
Um, who else was there?
What's his name?
Kendall! I was like... What's his name? Kendall.
Kendall.
I was like, the one.
I really liked Kendall's energy.
I feel like I got why so many people were like obsessed
with him on the show.
He's a fun, like just, you know, positive energy.
Just kind of like, hey, you know, keeps the spirits high.
You know, always there for a good time kind of.
He was really sweet.
Kind of gold, very golden retriever.
He was a golden retriever and I totally got that.
And then it's cool because like we, when they were Sally Hansen
and some of them were Sally Hansen,
so we kind of did Coachella with them
because we did our activations with them too.
So there's a little, apparently Kaylor has unfollowed Liv
on Instagram.
Oh shit.
For a moment.
And then everyone was like, oh my God, Kaylor unfollowed.
So then she refollowed her.
Do you think that it was like a glitch?
Like the glitch going around.
It's like the Haley, like the Haley unfollowing Justin,
that was a glitch, so it's like.
I don't think it was a glitch.
Yeah.
I think you can maybe accidentally unfollow someone.
You know what, let me ask Lynn.
Ask Lynn.
Literally.
That was me this morning.
Honestly, I text Kayla, like, I don't know,
a couple weeks ago, I was just like, hey, you know,
if you're in town, you should go back on the show, you know,
didn't hear from her.
Yeah, yeah.
Would she text you back?
No, I didn't even message her.
I was just kidding, I was gonna do it now.
Now that you told me that, I'm like, well.
Girlie.
But what was the energy between Liv and Kailer?
They were like sisters.
They were like sisters on the plane.
They were filming like 10 TikToks together.
So this is maybe for the drama. Oh, maybe for the show. I think they're leaning in. They were filming like 10 TikToks together. So this is maybe for the drama.
Oh, maybe for the show.
Maybe for the show.
I think they're leaning in.
They're professionals.
They know what they're doing.
They do.
They've also been teasing a potential like Kendall Liv.
No, Kendall Kaler.
No, I thought it was Liv.
Kendall Kaler.
Their relationship, they've been teasing,
which is so just teasing.
I feel like it's teasing.
I think it's like a sibling thing.
It's 100% teasing, I feel like it's easy
It's 100% for the show yeah
Because was there any like zero zero
You thought they were siblings yeah, it's like our relationship. Yeah, literally. I was kind of like
Like that's what it seems like but it's funny cuz the guys are so like, yeah, yeah, yeah, like they're so party boy
and it's so cute because it's like they, you know,
just came into all this so recently.
And they were like, this is, they were telling us
it was their first Coachella.
And I was like, this is my eighth Coachella
and I should not be here right now.
I should have been there.
How did that make you feel about yourself?
Very sad, very, very sad.
I always say I'm losing years off the end of my life
by going to Coachella.
Every single time.
I'm cutting it short.
I'm definitely cutting it short.
Did you guys watch The Valley by Chance?
I was in Italy, that's my excuse.
I'm interested in the show though, it looks good.
If you guys like TV, then.
I love TV.
I mean, if you say you like TV,
then I would assume you'd be watching The Valley.
It's really good.
Okay, so what's it about?
I was gonna say, the preemie.
Did you ever watch Vanderpump? Yes. Okay, so what's it about? I see you're just like the preemie. Did you ever watch Vanderpump?
Yes.
Okay, so it's obviously we have Kristen,
we have Jax, we have Brittany.
Love.
Oh, she said at dinner with Brittany the other night.
She does, she's the one that actually fills me in on.
Brittany from The Valley?
And?
It was cool, you know?
It was Rachel from The Bachelor.
Co-con?
Co-con, okay.
She did like a collab with the clothing brand and yeah.
Were you?
I could have thought you there.
Anyways, a lot of little reality TV girly pops.
What was the T on the conversation?
Okay, T, T, T, T, T.
I didn't really talk much to Brittany,
but she was sitting at my table
and I love her from Vanderpump.
I really like her.
I think she's a Southern girl from Alabama.
I love Brittany, but she was like really upset at the table and I have her from Vanderpump. I really like her. I think she's a southern girl from Alabama.
I love Brittany, but she was really upset at the table
and I have no idea what was going on.
I mean, I'm not gonna ask.
You were like, no shit.
You don't know her at all.
I don't know her, so I was like,
I have no idea what was going on,
but I didn't wanna be like, hey, by the way, I'm Laura.
What's up?
Yesterday, me and my mom went to lunch
with my daughter, River,
and we were sitting outside at Great White,
and there was this mom and daughter,
she had to be like early 20s, probably, sitting with her mom.
She's sitting beside us, she gets a phone call,
she hangs up the phone call, and she's like,
yes, yes, wow!
Like freaking out, her and her mom are like freaking out,
my daughter is staring at her, and I'm like,
I need to just like ask her what is going on
because this is the craziest reaction
I've ever seen to anything.
And so I had to ask her, I'm like,
hi, what was your phone call about?
I was like, who was that on the phone?
I'm really curious.
And she straight up was like, oh.
Really?
Yeah, she wouldn't tell me.
She wouldn't tell me.
But she had the craziest reaction.
Everyone was staring at her as she's freaking the fuck out
at getting off this phone call.
And then she wouldn't tell anyone.
I closed a deal.
I was telling her to be like, I am on the deal.
I got cast as something.
I'm literally on the new White Lotus.
That's what I would have thought.
That's what I would have thought.
She wouldn't tell me.
Well, maybe she is on the new White Lotus.
Maybe she can't say.
She's like, cast on something. Maybe. Oh my god, you see her? Imagine. Well, maybe she is on the news
Maybe oh my god, you see her imagine and she looks famous maybe she could have been somebody
LA is like filled with people that look like they're sorry
Like you don't know truly you could be sitting next to like anyone
And you can tell someone's from LA when you're like out in different parts of the country because it's like oh they look like they're from
Vibe to them. Yeah, we're just talking about this What's that vibe where they had a fancy place wearing sweatpants that like clearly it's like the airport like you can just see them and they're
like wearing trendy stuff
They're wearing like things that are like currently like they have like a sweatsuit on but then they have like a specific kind of bag
And they have like they're a little Stanley and then they have like a specific kind of bag, and they have like their little Stanley, and then they have like glasses, and there's super accessories everywhere.
It's like, oh, you're, I'm late.
Like, you just get it.
They're wearing like the bracelet ring chain.
Yes, like the whole thing.
The whole thing.
Yep, I've linked that a few times.
I've hit that with the Amazon affiliate a few times.
Yeah, it is, man.
Why do you think the Hailey Bieber thing was a glitch?
She just said it.
She said it was a glitch.
Yeah, and I trust her with my life.
Okay, this is my-
No, I'm kidding! He trusts her. I went No, I'm kidding. I'm in this shit deep, so I went into an investigation mode
and so Justin Bieber was kind of like posting
like cryptic stuff, a bunch of stuff.
And then he had posted one post
and she was in a lot of the albums
and she commented on the post, like hard eyes
and like supporting the post and liked it
two hours after she unfollowed him after.
So that just didn't make sense to me. Oh, I definitely don't think after she unfollowed him after. So that just didn't make sense to me.
Oh, I definitely don't think she unfollowed him
to get attention.
I would believe it was an accident.
Do you think that one was a glitch?
I think glitch means accident.
Yeah, what is glitching?
See, I think it's like an accident.
Like it was like, oh, like it bugged out.
But how do you accidentally?
I've accidentally followed people
only to immediately unfollow them
and I've accidentally unfollowed friends.
I think I have, I'm pretty sure I have.
Okay.
Okay.
So he is like Hailey.
Yeah.
I don't think it's totally impossible.
Yeah.
I've noticed people follow me
only to immediately unfollow me.
How do you know?
Oh, notifications on, does it tell you?
I've never had Instagram notifications on.
I've had the app ever.
Me either.
I used to in the past.
Okay.
You know, back in my bachelor nation days where,
you know, like it was very much like high school
and you know, it's like as Nick DeVille
and as a Nick not DeVille.
Can I be friends with them?
Can I not be friends with them?
Or like women who had been on my season
or people whose seasons I had been on or things like that.
You wanna know what's happening.
I had noticed that some people had followed me.
I was like, oh, someone decided to follow me.
And then I was like, not following me anymore.
So they clearly accidentally followed me.
Does it notify you when they unfollow you?
How do you know?
Or you just see.
I think you can get an app.
I didn't have that.
But in the story I'm telling,
I noticed they followed,
I got the notification that they followed me.
And you saw they weren't.
So then you went to their page,
and then they said,
oh, no, not following.
Not following, you know.
So that can happen.
I do think accidents can definitely happen.
Me too.
I would like the app.
So if someone knows the app, I'll tell them.
I'll take it.
It's probably like followers IG.
You know what I actually find to be believable?
It's more like I believe that there's a chance.
And I actually kind of feel a little
uncomfy talking about this,
because more than anything,
I just think we need to leave Hailey alone
when it comes to Selena Gomez,
and like the level of like pettiness that her fans,
Selena's fans, not Selena,
I think Selena's completely innocent
in all this whatever drama.
I don't think she has anything to do with it.
I think her fans just are fanatics.
I believe that it would be possible for Hailey
just like on, she's on Instagram, whatever.
Selena posts something, it comes up in her algorithm,
she's on her page, and then she accidentally double taps.
And so as a distraction, then unfollowed,
and then out of fear, pure panic,
knowing that Selena's fans are gonna notice this
and freak out, then she decides to unfollow her husband
to distract people because she-
I think she's like publicly liked
and supported Selena before.
Okay, well yeah, but I'm just saying some version of like-
Something like that could happen.
She accidentally did something else,
so she's like, I'm just gonna unfollow my husband because they'll notice that and we're and we're fine so
whatever I'll have people like speculate there's like a meme of the two of them
together and it's Haley saying I'm so hungry I could eat Selena Gomez. I feel like I could see that happen that's why even when I was saying I was like oh maybe it was an
accident with the unfollow I was like oh well she that happen. That's why even when I was saying it, I was like, oh, maybe it was an accident with the unfollow. I was like, oh, well, she just said that happened,
so maybe it's a thing.
I do think, I know accidents happen online
when people are searching and browsing,
and if you're a public figure, yeah.
The worst is when you're doomscrolling on someone
and you're kind of stalking,
and then you accidentally like someone's thing,
and you're like.
Deep, you jump off a bridge.
I literally, I'm like, let me just literally,
I block people from that, I'm not kidding.
I'll block the whole page.
Yeah, no, literally.
I've never existed.
I once had, I was working out, had my phone open
and I was like on an exercising bike, on Instagram.
You're live.
And the sweat, my sweat drip down hit my phone
and it started like glitching and started liking shit.
Oh my god.
The sweat drops like this.
And I was like oh my god, oh my god.
It left a comment too.
I'm obsessed with you.
With like red lips.
Whoopsies, it was a sweat.
No, my daughter will like take my phone and if it's not locked, she's on Instagram.
She's on TikTok. She's like, she's on TikTok.
She's on someone's, 15 months.
And she'll be like, and I'm like, stop it, put it down.
You've gotta put it down immediately.
So if I ever accidentally like, like follow, DM,
anything is not me.
It was not me, it was my child.
It was not me, it was my child.
I have no idea.
So accidents do happen.
I'm using that one actually.
That one's going in my chamber.
It was sweat.
Laura, you know what's crazy?
Tell me.
I was born in Montgomery.
No!
What?
Yes, I was.
So me and you are the only two people in LA County
that were born in Montgomery, Alabama.
Hold on.
How, why, where, when?
I was born in Montgomery, I was raised in Auburn.
My husband graduated from Auburn.
We're a role type then.
All righty.
We're a hard core.
All righty, that's enough here.
He is too?
Yep, but they have it.
Auburn's a better engineering school than Alabama.
Alabama's like a lot of luck.
So he was a trader the whole time.
Absolutely, and he wore his Alabama gear
like the entire time.
Like we're huge Alabama fans.
Like we go to at least a couple games a year.
All the night.
He's like, I'm literally just here for school.
Yeah, literally.
But a lot of Alabama kids go to Auburn
because they have a huge engineering program.
And I remember I was walking down the street
because I would always go up there.
I dropped out of college, okay.
But I was walking down the street
and these, you know, Auburn's big rival is Georgia.
So these guys in a Georgia truck,
Georgia flag, scream at me, you know, go bulldogs.
And I literally screamed at them so loud,
I was like roll tide.
And they were literally like,
they were on Auburn's campus, they were like,
what the fuck are you doing here?
I was like, I don't know either.
Like we both don't belong.
That's so crazy.
Why don't you have a country accent?
Your parents weren't Southern.
No, my parents are very Southern.
Very Southern.
What happened to you?
So I dropped out of high school and I moved to New York at 15
to be a model.
And then my agency at the time was like,
you also need to act.
But to act, and I was real redneck.
I was very, very country.
They were like, you have to take dialect classes,
like you have to lose this.
So now it comes out if I'm back home,
if we're interviewing a country singer
and I'm around people with that accent, it comes out strong.
When she talks to her sisters?
Yeah, I talk to family.
When this comes back from Alabama,
I know immediately.
I still have a Southern accent,
but whenever I moved here, it was crazy,
and I went to media training,
and they basically said,
you're gonna have to kick some of it.
They were like, because people don't respect it
and they relate a super southern accent with not, yes.
I was gonna try and make it nice.
I don't care, it's the same as way.
But they were like, general media,
like people that aren't from the south
and they hear that deep southern accent,
they relate it with stupid.
So they were like, we highly suggest you like kick
as much of it as you can.
Can you guys get, do like a little scene for us
in the most Southern accent?
What can we say?
Oh my God.
That was very.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
As someone who's bad with accents,
I will say like a Southern accent's
the easiest to like pick up.
You know?
You just wanna.
Until you watch an actor try to act one out on the screen
and you're from the South, it kills you.
Like it's like a knife in the chest.
Did you ever watch Landman?
Yes.
Horrible. Horrible.
Some of the worst acting by the way.
I'm sorry. Dady.
All of them have a bad, Billy Bob,
I'm gonna give it to Billy Bob Thorin.
Everyone else.
Everyone else, sorry.
Also, do you guys watch Jim Stones,
Rachel Jim Stones?
I've seen the first season.
So good, Dan McBride.
They do a good job, they do a good job.
Like White Lotus, they crush.
Parker Posey, babes.
Crushed the Southern accent.
But it is, it's hard to.
It is tough.
And you can call it out real quick.
You'll be like, that's bad.
It's bad, it's not good.
But yeah, Nick at our welcome party,
he's from Wisconsin,
and at our welcome party at our wedding,
it was like country chic themed,
so it was at my family's farm in Georgia.
And he was like, it's my daddy, y'all.
Like he went real country.
I didn't sound like that, but I said this is my daddy.
He tried it then.
He tried it out.
I tried it out.
And how did it feel?
You liked it?
It was fine, it was fun.
That's what I'm saying.
It's like, I'm not saying, oh, it's an easy accent to do.
It's just like an easy accent to try out.
First, you know, like I wouldn't ever go to New York
and like be like, I'm a New Yorker.
You know, like I wouldn't go to to New York and like be like I'm in New Yorker, you know
Boston and start you know, I feel like this other accent will attach to you too when you're in the environment
But yeah, like anyone like to do what y'all doing?
And it's so fun. That's not actually so fun to me. Like it's so like party like fun
Do Mormons have accents at all, Manny? Um, they don't.
Are you a former Mormon or are you currently a Mormon? I mean, I never like was excommunicated, so I guess technically I'm still like Mormon. I just don't practice. I'm still Catholic.
That's what's kind of funny about Mormons, because like there's a literal like, you're out.
I know, isn't that crazy?
I'm Catholic, and like you, it's just like,
I mean, I guess I'm still Catholic,
but I haven't gone in a bit.
But Catholics don't get kicked out.
That's like nothing, right?
That's not a thing.
Same, I was raised Baptist, Southern Baptist,
lives, you could murder three people.
You're still in bed.
You're still in bed.
I loved you.
As long as you're sorry.
And how did you pray for forgiveness. You're really bad.
The Mormons would be like, ah, ah, ah.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
It's like if you cheat on your husband or something, you can get the boot, man.
Dude, like so many things.
They'll get you out of there.
I think there's a lot of things, like even like being gay, you can get all that.
I feel like I would have gotten kicked out.
They would have got me.
You're seven years old.
Yeah, I'm like all old.
Get her out of here.
Did you watch season one of Mormon Wives?
Yes.
Secret lives of Mormon wives.
I like to shorten it,
but then it confuses people with Salt Lake City.
No, I loved it.
Like I loved it so much.
Who's your favorite?
It's so interesting to me.
Who is my favorite?
Jessie, I love for sure.
Taylor carries a lot.
I mean, it's it's like it feels like it's like on her back.
Really, it is.
It is. I feel like she has like the world on her shoulder.
Three, one, Taylor.
But I feel like a lot of the cast, like I really like a lot of all the girls,
really, other than like Whitney.
You really know, like a huge, huge stand.
I'm kind of obsessed with Whitney.
But based off of the show,
because I feel like it's like they painted it away
for you don't really like her.
Yeah.
So I asked the girls,
because we went to a Gallant Times
and they were all there.
Whitney wasn't there.
But a lot of them were there.
So we were like chatting them up about the show.
Like, give us behind the scenes.
Tell us the real tea.
Like, what's really going on the show?
I was like, I have a question about Whitney.
And I was like, did she go on the show
and y'all all plan and plot for her to be the villain
or is she really not understand that like,
what she does and how she comes across is villain-esque?
And they're like, no, no.
She doesn't understand.
She fully does not understand and like,
fully thought. That's what I love about her.
Yeah. Like she finished filming
and was like, oh my God, I'm the eight.
I ate that up.
She's like, I ate it up.
She's like this.
Literally, she's gonna tell her. She's the eight. Everybody's like, I hate it! She's like this. Literally, who's gonna tell her?
She's the sweat.
She's the sweat on the phone.
She's so kind of confident in whatever it is she's doing.
Very confident.
And her dance videos, she commits.
She's fully committed.
The video with the child.
In the hospital bed.
It's my favorite thing to watch.
You're like, I love that idea.
Can we play it again?
The poor girl.
It makes me...
She needs to move on. She's trying to move on and Nick's like, I love that idea. Can we play it again? The poor girl. I, you know. It makes me.
She needs to move on.
She's trying to move on and Nick's like, no.
No, we can't.
It's too fierce.
It makes me feel good.
It makes me feel good.
You guys, this video, it really does haunt me.
Oh, kiss the baby.
The kiss.
It's so hard.
She just locks in.
Eats it up.
Ay.
And she's like actually doing the count quite well.
The way the baby's looking at the camera.
Like this. It's the immediate art. Straight doing the count quite well. The way the baby's looking at the camera. No, like this.
It's the immediate part.
Straight into the camera's eye.
It's the style in the baby's head.
No, it's just that, it's the...
The transition is so good.
It's so volatile.
It's like such an intense transition.
My parent part is on the show.
They have to talk about it.
So they bring it up and in the interview,
she's like, I did a dance when mine like explaining it's crazy like taking accountability more
it's like so we woke up Tuesday and he couldn't breathe so we took him to the
hospital for a second yes yes and I just wanted to bring awareness to this cause. Awareness. But in her defense, the delusion is real.
She is who she is.
Are you excited for season two?
Have you seen the trailer?
I'm so excited.
I am very excited.
I feel like it's different too
because we know some of the girls now.
And we've chatted with them,
we're mutuals with some of the girls.
And so I feel like it makes it a little bit more fun to me.
And I feel like I relate in a weird way
because I grew up Mormon.
So there's just this funny aspect of that. And I feel like I relate in like a weird way because I grew up Mormon. So there's just like this like funny aspect of that too,
where I'm like seeing these things,
it's just so interesting that it's like on a show.
Is your family still Mormon?
Yeah.
They're more like, like they're more like go to church.
Yeah, they're in maybe they are in it.
Like my mom goes to church, my brother goes to church,
like everyone like they're like in it.
Wow.
But I see the thing is they still love you.
It's so funny.
They love me like dearly, like I swear dearly.
But that's why I'm like, I was gonna say that.
That's so funny because growing up,
it was like a very tough situation.
And now they're almost like my biggest advocates.
And even in church, like my mom's the type that will like,
someone will say something like, let's say, how much?
She's like, don't even try it.
Like she's the type that will like stand up
for the community, stay with my brother.
And it's like, it's so nice.
I feel like your family's like, holy for sure,
but they're so fucking for real.
You can be like this fucking bitch,
and your mom will be like, give it to me.
Yeah, this fucking bitch.
Exactly.
They practice, but there's this line with it,
where they're not in-
It's the difference between being in San Diego.
God will forgive them.
Yeah.
Yes, yes, it's the difference between
being like a San Diego Mormon,
Exactly.
And like a Utah Mormon.
I think there's like a humongous difference
where it's like, you just get- What about a Las Vegas Mormon? Oh, maybe. Honey, maybe. You know it's a difference between like a San Diego Mormon and like a Utah Mormon. I think there's like a humongous difference where it's like you just get-
What about a Las Vegas Mormon?
Oh, maybe.
You know it's a wreck out there.
You know it's a wreck.
It is.
You know all those Mormons are literally-
There are no Mormons in Alabama.
I told him I never even heard of it.
I was like, there's a large Jehovah's Witness.
Yeah, there's no Mormon.
There's no Mormon.
Jehovah's Witness, what is it?
A lot of Jehovah's Witness is like a big religion there and like Baptist Methodist of course, but no Mormon. Jehovah's Witnesses. A lot of Jehovah's Witnesses, like a big religion there
and like Baptist Methodist of course, but no Mormon.
So when I moved to California, I learned about Mormon.
I didn't even know,
because we didn't have all these TV shows, you know?
No, but it's also like the fastest growing religion
in the world.
Yeah, that's why I was like, how did I even know about this?
Yes, it's like the fastest growing religion.
They have sales people going door to door selling it?
I mean, yeah, they have missionaries that are like,
you know, preaching the gospel.
They're the only religion with the sales team.
Well, witnesses are...
Jehovah's Witnesses, they'll knock on that door.
They do that.
Can I speak the Jehovah's Witness?
The good book?
Yep.
So like in the South, Jehovah's Witness
would come to your door, not Mormon.
Wait, he was?
That's what I said.
Oh, yeah. I didn't know they had that. I didn't know they had that.
I didn't know they had that.
Same outfits, like the whole thing.
Yes, it's the same.
Did he let you have Christmas?
He never had Christmas growing up.
So it's like I would like over-confess.
I'm like, oh my God, you don't know who Santa Claus is.
I will be your Santa Claus.
Crazy.
Are you following the PK and DeRite divorce?
Since you're like a- Here and there, yes. Why. Are you following the PK and Dorit divorce? Since you're like a here and there, yes.
Why were you on in the background?
Oh, tell them about that.
Of the Housewives episode.
You know, I feel like I manifested that.
Like I'm such a big Housewives fan.
And then like one night I was like,
let me just go to Ty Show right up the road here
and go eat dinner.
And they were like,
they're filming real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
So like, do you wanna like, you, there,
you'll just, you have to sign a waiver
to eat here tonight, and I was like, great, I don't care.
The way they put me directly behind Garcelle,
like literally right there, so I'm just in the whole scene
entirely, and I have been tagged for a year now.
Like how much were you not paying attention
to Who Is With You and like fully listening
to their conversation?
I, the whole dinner was just me, like in the recording studio.
Plugged in.
You were just plugged in there.
Because they had, it was literally a production like this
by the way, in that restaurant.
And let me ask you, did it feel,
how authentic did that conversation feel?
None, zero.
It was like a studio like this.
Like I'm talking about like ten lights eight cameras
50 producers and me and my husband but the but con the conversation itself was there a lot of stopping and starting and
Producing or was it it was just people it was flow
One shot I was there for their setup. That would be more. That's more authentic. It is but it was probably like hey
We got to get these like, you know, you need to talk to your,
cause she was there with her son,
so we gotta get these talking points in,
and then you guys have that authentic conversation
with your son.
Were you able to like chat with her after?
Yes. You were.
Yeah.
So it was like a little meet and greet after her scene.
It was just me in there.
It was weird, like I was the only other person
in that room at the restaurant.
I don't know why the restaurant had other people.
Do you think they knew who you were in there?
Probably, maybe.
Yeah, let's just say she's glam.
I didn't say that.
You were glam during the shoot.
I would have never signed the waiver
if I wasn't glam.
100%.
Like you were pretty, like you were literally like.
I was like, I have my glam on.
I was like, give me the waiver.
100%.
Absolutely.
And so yeah, I chatted with her for a while.
All right, so team PK or team Dorit?
First of all, like always, like just like,
no matter what, like fuck PK so hard. Fuck PK so hard. Like don't her for a while. All right, so team PK or team Dorit? First of all, like always, like just like, no matter what, like fuck PK so hard.
Fuck PK so hard.
Like, don't even give a fuck.
Don't even need to know facts.
Like, I'm good.
No, no, no.
No, no, no.
Have you seen the photos of him like making out with-
Yes.
What are you doing, sir?
Girl, be so fucking for real.
And then she files for divorce the next day?
He's literally the ugliest man I've ever seen in my life.
I'm gonna say it and I try not to go there,
but we're going there. He looks like a gonna say it and I try not to go there, but we're going there.
He looks like a foot to me.
I didn't wanna go there, but I would say
I do find it shocking his lifestyle he's able to live.
How is he getting these women to kiss him?
I don't wanna go there, but I'm shocked.
It ain't that much money.
It's not.
It's not that much money, babe.
We're not Bill Belichick, what's his name?
Bill Belichick. Have you followed that story?
Love it. I'm obsessed with that storyichick, what's his name? Bill Belichick. Have you followed that story? Love it.
I'm obsessed with that story.
Honey, she's about to cash out.
Yeah.
And this isn't, but I'm like,
this isn't Bill Belichick, why are you kissing PK?
I know, but you know,
it's the whole Bill Belichick and Jordan thing.
People were saying, I think it was like,
Claudia and Jackie were saying that it was,
there's no grooming going on here.
Like she is, she's not being groomed.
She's elder abuse, if anything. Like the way that this girl. She's no grooming going on here. Like she is, she's not being groomed. She's elder abused, if anything.
Like the way that this girl.
She's the criminal here.
The way she was so easily, like we're not talking about that.
Like he is in a chain at home.
Like this man is.
He's a conservator essentially.
He's in a conservatorship.
The opposite.
I think what I'm so fascinated by it
is that like I feel like I'm getting a like a front row seat into what my
Nightmare version of dating Nellie would have been when we first started dating with a little bit of a gap
Just a sliver of a gap and this like yeah, you know
You're like when you meet someone in general like N like Natalie thought maybe I was a monster, you know?
And you know, you don't really know.
But like in my world, it's just like,
she's gonna steal everything I have,
and she's gonna be, she's gonna like take over my life,
and before I know it, I'm gonna wake up,
and she's gonna be like running everything,
and I'm not gonna know what's gone,
and like she's like, I'm gonna be,
also Dave Portnoy, he had some, gave some commentary
that I kinda agree with. He's like, there's gonna be him. Also Dave Portnoy, he had some, gave some commentary that I kinda agree with.
He's like, there's a strong chance, strong,
that Bill Belichick has no idea just the depth
and reach of social media or Instagram.
Like, I think he knows that Instagram's a thing,
and I think he generally understands
that like things are online, you know?
But I don't know if, it's like,
is it possible
that he has no idea that the photo of them at the beach
where they're playing Superman is going super viral
on the internet and he just doesn't know?
I think that's a possibility.
100% of the possibility.
I think that's a huge, because of his age.
Yeah.
I think it's a huge possibility.
There definitely is.
Which is kind of wild.
She's scrolling like.
I honestly don't think he's ever held his own iPhone.
Never. Never.
Like he probably personally has still maybe a car phone
and then she runs like his iPhone.
He dials it, yeah.
You know? Yeah.
But people are saying like his former players
and people defending him are basically saying like,
well listen, maybe it's kind of weird
but at the same time she's just playing
the role of his publicist,
which yeah, it kind of seemed like he is, but why?
Why is your girlfriend,
I couldn't imagine meeting Natalie two months in
and being like, listen, I have this spot open.
Yeah, I feel like he could afford for a real publicist,
for sure.
You know, who maybe just knows.
The conservatorship, man.
She's in a conservatorship.
I lived in that for the years. She got a conservatorship. She's in a conservatorship.
I live in the United States.
She got a mock test.
She's just taking over at that point.
It is.
It's crazy.
She was like, honey, could you sign this please?
And he's like, do you think that?
She's releasing emails that he wrote.
No, that was crazy.
That was her response when people were like,
what are you doing?
She posted a screenshot of an email he sent to like his team.
What did she say?
What did it say?
What did she say? She's typing it. I don't know. We have it. Good question because say? What did it say? What did it say?
What did she type in it?
I don't know.
We have it.
Good question because I think he signed it Bibi,
you know, Bill Belichick.
Yeah.
Do you think Bill is gonna like.
Is like sign Bibi.
Bibi.
No, babe.
Is it like Bibi?
I say Bibi like that, like Bibi.
I type Bibi all the time.
Do you guys think there's a world
where he thinks that she's in love with him?
Or do you think he's aware?
Do you think he's aware?
He's like, fuck it.
Like, he knows.
I don't think he cares.
I don't think I care.
Maybe he doesn't care.
Maybe, I definitely don't care.
Sometimes they just don't care.
He's the most famous for not caring.
Oh, well then he definitely doesn't care.
Yeah, he just like, okay, man.
What I am confused about is she posted this as like response.
And I'll be honest, he does not say like her name once
in this email.
It's like she posted it as if he said,
I need Jordan to be my spokesperson
and like speak up for topics I don't wanna talk about.
And I don't wanna talk about like our relationship.
And it does not say not one ounce of that.
That's a sad.
So it talks a lot about his book and the Super Bowl
and how he wrote a whole book and basically the headline
was just that he fucked up and that's what everyone's
running with is the headline.
It's like yeah, it's some version of he's basically saying
I know that the media is gonna focus on the negatives
and not focus on what 95% of the book is.
But why is you meeting your girlfriend a negative?
Where did you meet her?
Or just like, but like, forget it, clearly,
hell, we've, just for our baby little gap, we get shit.
Yes, our six months.
Yeah, and it's like if you are aware
the internet focuses on the negatives,
why are you obsessed with demanding
that your girlfriend go wherever you go
and follow you like a shadow
and then start working for you?
She's putting on his walkie talkie mic
at his college game.
She's taking it from the sound guy
and doing it herself.
That's weird.
No, she's full service.
Full service. That's weird, putting a bid on. No, she's full service. Full service.
Like that's weird, like putting a bid on.
Honey, she's putting on his bid.
She's putting on his bid.
She's getting the check and there's no one
cutting it between.
She's cleaning his dentures in the glass cup.
No, I feel like she knows what she's,
she knows exactly what she has to do.
The most believable rumor I heard online is that,
and you saw like a TikTok or something,
I don't know, it may have been completely bullshit
or maybe it was true, but someone's like, I went to high school with her and she was like a TikTok or something, I don't know, it may have been completely bullshit or maybe it was true, but like someone's like,
I went to high school with her and she was like a nerd
who got hot and she's like, seems to be like kind of
standing on business and full like fully capable,
like, you know, she was probably like an A student
and then things got hot and now she knows exactly
what she's doing, she's running the shit
and like, she's just like, yeah.
She's a smart sugar baby.
Yes, she's a smart sugar baby.
An educated sugar baby.
A smart sugar baby is a conservator.
Oh!
This is so for real right now.
A smart sugar baby is basically a conservator.
Literally, literally.
I mean, every woman that gets pregnant
with Elon Musk's child, I'm like, you better get it.
I mean, another check is cashed.
You better get that check, baby.
How are they getting pregnant?
To sleep with Elon is a feat.
Is he checking his DMs?
How are we, you know?
I don't know.
I don't know.
And I literally think I'm like,
how could anyone even sleep with him in the first place?
But I'm like, okay, at least you have acquired some fingers.
He's gotta be getting them pregnant on purpose.
There's no way that's an accident.
Well, he said that he, I think there was something like that.
Yeah, like he said, like he wanted.
He's very much worried about population depleting, which it is a thing. I mean, yeah, like he said, like he wanted. He's very much worried about population depleting.
Which is, it is a thing.
I mean, yeah, but like.
Is that a bad thing?
We're overpopulated.
I don't think we are.
I think we're way overpopulated.
There's too many people here for me.
Definitely not the person, you know,
I don't know if any of us are the person to ask.
We're not.
We're not.
We're not.
I was like, we are.
Can't confirm, can't confirm.
Us in traffic, I'm like, we're overpopulated, you guys.
Like, it's so fucked. Not us fully going into it. Like, we're having full, deep dives. I'm like, there are not. Us in traffic, I'm like, we're overpopulated. It's so fucked. Not us fully going into it.
We're having full, deep dives.
I'm like, there's too many people.
But just in general, I am fairly confident in saying
that how our general society and economy works
is that the younger generation takes care
of the older generations.
We do.
And there are no new generations.
Yeah, Gen Z's not having kids bags.
Yeah, so it's just kind of like-
Millennials, we've like-
Fast forward 20, 30 years,
there might be some serious gaps
in terms of like, who's doing what?
And who's working what?
And-
Yeah, 100%.
So, you know, I-
I mean, you can obviously just tell,
my parents had me at like 1918 like yeah people aren't having kids at 1918 or in comparison to what it was
You know that's just what you did. Oh, that's true. But like in general, I think that so to me is just exposed so much more
Did you know that teen pregnancy is down in Gen Z by 78%?
No
78% that's how.
What?
We need them.
We need them.
To not get pregnant as a teenager, yes.
That is funny.
Did y'all not ever watch 16 and Pregnant or Teen Mom?
They did, that's why the profile.
That's why they're like,
they're like, they're like, they're like,
they're like, they're like,
they're like, they're like, they're like,
they're like, they're like, not us.
Yeah, not them.
Not them.
That is wild.
Yeah.
Wow.
78%. I watched Doc Shepard's podcast
and he read off like a list of actual statistics on Gen Z
and how much better they are than us.
This evolution of human beings,
like you live, you learn, you see,
and they have social media and they see so much,
they're able to learn quicker.
I don't know if they're better.
Well, you would say that.
I think they're better than us.
I think Gen Z is better than us.
There's definitely aspects.
There's definitely aspects for sure. Yes. I think millennials have like, you know, a lot that they're better. Well, you would say that. I mean. I think they're better than us. I think Gen Z is better than us. There's definitely aspects for sure.
Yes.
I think millennials have a lot that they do better.
But yeah.
In comparison.
We're better than the Bims and all that,
whatever was before us.
Whatever it is, yeah.
And then Gen Z, I think is better than us.
But can't there be a worse one?
Oh, we just always assume it's better.
Could be.
But why would you want that?
Then we're going backwards and left.
I like the fact that a lot of Gen Z is more...
So we're gonna go straight to illusion
no matter what. Just like, it always gets better.
Well, I mean, who knows?
Who knows?
We're not the ones to ask.
They're too young to know yet.
Maybe they are. It's entirely possible.
Yeah, absolutely. I just like the fact that they're a lot more open
in comparison to what it is.
Well, the resources, that's what it all is.
It's all the resources and communication,
that's the whole thing with Gen Z.
Do you feel like Kyle and Mo are gonna get back together
or no?
I don't know who those people are.
Kyle and Mo from Beverly Hills Housewives?
Kyle and Mauricio?
Yeah!
I was like, wait.
I was like, you're like yes you do!
You do!
This is my hot take.
Give it.
I think Mauricio has cheated on Kyle
for probably 20 years now.
And I think Kyle has put up with it
for the children, the show, the money, the lifestyle
to not disrupt all that they built together.
It would be a lot to tear that apart.
And I think she's just got her own success now
and has gotten older and she's like,
okay, our kids are grown.
Like I'm finally getting rid of your ass.
You can go be with your 20 women and be done.
But I think he's ran around on her for years and years
and she's finally just like done with it.
Do you think they're not like officially getting divorced
because of like?
Logistics my yeah. Yes. Yes. I think it's all the logistics behind this Okay, I do need to pick your brain about this because you're married
Yes, and this is like a new I was talking to Nick about this last night. It's it's it's it's
It's starting to piss me off. Oh
We got married a year ago. Congratulations.
April 27th.
Incredible.
This past weekend.
Thank you very much.
And now every time I get on TikTok and scroll,
I come across some random person.
Maybe they have a following, maybe they do not.
But they are being like,
let me tell you what is out of style for brides,
for weddings, like arched florals at your aisle.
Don't do it.
You'll look back and it'll be like the Chevron of 2010.
The backwards neck scarf, don't do,
the drop waist on a dress,
that's the equivalent to mason jars.
They are just meeting them up.
And I'm like, you know what?
If I am just a random girl in like Indiana
and I am planning my wedding and I've got my dream dress,
I can't imagine like getting on TikTok to scroll
and seeing some random girl equate my dress to Chevron.
Right.
It's dark.
It's dark.
It's fucked up.
It's fucked up.
Like I just spent all my money, all my time planning this
and like, you're gonna tell me that arched florals are out?
I think the wedding industry is a scam
and I went to the courthouse and got married
because part of, well, I was broke
to be very transparent here.
So there was never a wedding in my future,
but I always, all my friends got married
right out of high school
I'm from Alabama like so I was in I think like four weddings right before I moved out to California because they were I got married
And I sat back and was saw this and I said this shit is a money-making scam this whole thing
It's organized crime. It's organized crime. It's a very hot take as well
That's another hot take of mine, and I've always thought that, but I don't say it too loud
because I'm happy for people in their wedding.
Like I'm happy for women in their dreams.
We had a great wedding.
We spent more than we thought we were going to.
And I'm sure it was absolutely amazing.
It was, and you know, a little nervous going into it.
And it certainly wasn't without a million headaches,
mostly dealing with all the vendors who are criminals.
Criminals, absolutely.
Because what they do is they hold
your most special day hostage.
Oh yeah.
They got you on the line, you're in a vulnerable situation.
You're in a vulnerable situation, you're stressed out,
you want it to be your day, and they all say,
well this is just how it is.
Yeah, and Influencer had a rich wedding,
I won't say who it was,
because one of their bridesmaids was telling me the tea,
so they paid like hundreds and hundreds of thousands
of dollars for this wedding.
It wasn't Kieran, by the way.
Because people will assume, it wasn't Kieran.
It was another influencer.
And because they left a McDonald's bag
with like some of the fries and stuff out
where all the girls got ready,
they charged him an $800 cleaning fee.
Just for that.
It's literally, it's criminal activity.
No, it's criminal. It's ext's extortion it is it's extortion now you have Sally Joe being like you can't
you need to get a whole new dress because you're gonna look back on that
and regret all your decisions okay but then you're gonna regret that decision of
the new dress everything comes back around fucking Capri's the Chevron ain't
coming back though.
Those girls fucked up.
You remember those bubble necklaces?
Oh, they're never coming back.
That was just a fuck up, okay, in history.
We had to write that one off.
I have a fashion question for everyone in the room.
We were at Stagecoach.
Love that.
I love Stagecoach.
Yeah, it was fun.
And I'm old enough to have once been alive
when baggy jean shorts were in.
I was there.
I was in the sixth grade.
The like cargo shorts.
We were walking into stagecoach
and this very attractive couple walked in.
She was in all denim and he was like
in these like giant baggy jean shorts. I was just like, this can't be happening.
And then I saw several other people, I think younger,
in baggy jean shorts.
And I'm like, is this actually, is this coming back?
And I'm just here.
Your life flashed before your eyes.
Skip it.
Like it's not, I'm just telling people.
Like it's not worth it.
So you're not gonna get those baggy jean shorts?
No. Makes like anti-shorts in general. I mean, anti-shorts in general it. So you're not gonna get the baggy jean shorts? No.
It's like anti-shorts in general.
I'm anti-shorts in general.
If you're working out, fine.
And if it's stifling hot,
if it's dangerously hot outside
and you might overheat, I get it.
If you're on a trip, there's beaches, fine.
Yoga shorts.
Yellow, like when in Rome.
But short of that,
choosing to wear shorts
and show your ankles as a man.
And then jean shorts.
Well listen, you know, there's plenty of pictures out there
in me and jean shorts, but like we're tight and rolled
and that was also a problem.
I honestly, I mean, I was the king of skinny jeans.
So like, I feel.
That's diabolical.
Diabolical. A man in skinny jeans. So like, I feel. That's diabolical.
Diabolical.
A man in skinny jeans.
Why do we ever wear those?
It's bad.
Now that we're back and they're like the-
I still see men in skinny jeans.
Still, yeah.
And again, I was-
With an ankle stop.
I was leading that cult.
Yeah, you were the leader.
Yeah, no, they were painted,
cause I have thick,
meaty thighs. Thick thighs.
Thick thighs.
So you wanted to show them off.
I didn't want to, but I did.
Oh, okay.
But I like to taper, I guess.
And I don't know, what were you thinking?
Sometimes you have to say no to like fashion.
And this is where you're drawing the line.
The jeans, the jeans shorts, the baggy jeans shorts.
It just looks like you, you know.
Say it.
I bought baggy jeans shorts for Coachella and I never wore them.
Did you try them on?
Just so everyone knows.
You did.
And I would like everyone to know this.
He has to get it off his chest.
I need to get it out, okay?
I bought them. He's still like attacked. I was fucked. Do you try him on? Just so everyone knows. You did. And I would like everyone to know this. He has to get it off his chest. I need to get it out, OK?
I bought them.
He's really attacked.
I was fucked.
Do you think that, like, are you wearing him?
Because you're like, no.
And I put them on, and I'm like this.
I literally, I bought them, and I just put them on.
I was literally like, why the fuck did I buy these?
No, I looked crazy.
No, because look, this is, there's
a good looking guy and an attractive woman.
They're a couple.
And when I put them on, I was literally like,
that was a bad idea.
I never wore them.
That's a joke.
I never wore them, but I did buy them.
Could you get behind regular jean shorts
that weren't baggy?
Could we get you there?
Again, I've worn them.
Okay.
I'm talking skin tight.
I'm sure we could find a photo, actually.
I'm sure we could actually.
Yeah, they're probably on my Instagram somewhere.
I've worn them to festivals.
But you're drawing the line when it comes to those baggy 90s.
All the way through the years.
Yeah, sometimes you have to say no.
We should have said no to Chevron in here.
I'm all for like, you try things out.
I mean, you bought them, you tried them.
I tried it and I was like, no, they look bad.
I looked literally about five feet tall.
No, but it's like, yeah, as someone who is old enough
to have worn them in the sixth grade
and then have them get out of fashion,
and then as a high school student,
be mortified by realizing I was wearing baggy jean shorts
that like went past my knees,
and then thought to myself, how did I ever do that? And and then fast forward?
2025 and and they're back. Did you walk up to them and say you're gonna regret this, but no no he let him
He let them my place walk around
Y'all know there's a new show coming out called
Sneaky links, is that right? Dating after dark dating after dark. It's on the change name. It's both Sneaky Links, is that right? Dating After Dark. Dating After Dark. Dating After Dark.
It's on Netflix.
Will they change the name?
It's both.
Sneaky Leaks Dating After Dark.
Oh, that's what it's called.
Got it, got it, got it.
So they're putting all of these people in a hotel
with their Sneaky Link, their booty call,
the person that they go to at night
when they're feeling lonely.
Okay.
And it's all these people in this hotel room.
And I don't know what like the,
like I don't know if they're hoping
that maybe someone will end up with their Sneaky Link.
Like falling in love.
Yes, I do feel like maybe that is the purpose
of the reason that they are Sneaky Link
because maybe they don't want to date them.
Spoiler, guessing no one wants to go ahead
and date that person they want to keep a secret.
Right. Sneaky Link. Right, that they are Sne that person. They want to keep a secret, right? It's Nikki link. They are
Did you guys watch temptation island? Oh my god, did we we hosted the unofficial reunion?
The most recent season was like super talked about yeah, that's the one you're talking about right season three
Yeah, it pissed me off all the time and I'm probably not gonna watch season two. No, it was so fucking pissed off
Yeah, like does anyone have a brain anymore?
No, God no.
What was that?
That's why they cast them.
That they knew what they were doing in the casting.
It was crazy as fuck,
because I got a DM from someone being like
responding to our wedding video and being like,
oh my God, this is so sweet.
Meanwhile, me and my fiance are signing up
for Temptation Island like the next season.
And I was like, oh dear God.
Oh, break up now.
Oh yeah, literally.
Just don't do it, just don't do it.
Like your feelings are gonna be hurt.
Yes.
I could get behind it if the women
would have just been so fucking for real.
Like I would have loved the show
because it would have been the best ending
for them just to read these men up and down
and drag their asses and I'm not, I am a man hater,
but I'm like the man hater who like loves my
Person I am so I don't want to come across as just like a fucking bitch
But like that show was brutal to watch it was hard. What did you think of Breon and Shanté?
The guy who had the threesome and then she... I wanna, and then the way they even gave him
the sob story, that's when it went viral.
They gave him the sob story of like,
oh, I had a hard life so I'm a piece of shit.
I was literally like, uh, watching it.
And she's like, I just haven't seen
like what I need to see yet.
I was like, are you blind?
I do think we are gonna leave together.
What, like, what do you mean?
I think that's my man.
You know what? Really?
After seeing everything.
You know what?
So that's what I look like?
Wait a second, he was performing in that shower.
I was like, so that's what I look like getting pounded out.
Like what?
That was the craziest thing I've ever seen.
I know Netflix ate that shit up.
They were like, oh, we have gold.
The fact that they did not put a camera in that bathroom
and the fact that they only had rhythmic slapping.
Oh yeah.
It's crazy.
It's crazy.
Anytime you hear the words rhythmic slapping
in the captions, you have it.
I just love a caption.
I can't even hear without captions, I swear to God.
No, honestly, England is writing it. Oh, I love it. No, honestly't even hear without captions. I swear to God. Who's writing this? Who's writing that? Who's writing it?
Oh, I love it.
No, honestly, whenever I saw that going around,
I was literally like, this is like a real...
Yeah.
The casting, they ate that up though.
And a lot of the men were shitty on it,
but he was just so shitty that he just really took the cake
and he made the most horrible men look okay.
It was like, okay, these guys.
No, because he tried to paint himself
as just a victim of life. Yes, that's what it was. it was like, okay. These guys. No, because he tried to paint himself as like just a victim of life.
Yes, that's what it was.
That's what it was.
So I'm she.
I will say every single time I open the app of TikTok,
I am presented with someone from that show on TikTok Live
talking about them being on that show.
Oh my God.
So okay.
Nobody doing that at least until next season.
You think?
Oh, for sure.
Yeah.
They're gonna ride the wave until they can't ride the wave.
So the reason I was in that bathroom with Breanna is because he we all I'm like every day
we don't care give me your hair care routine bitch yeah yeah you're over the
thing well Manny Laura this has been so much fun. Thanks for coming. Thank you for having us. It was so much fun. It was such a key.
It was a key key.
It was so fun.
I love this kind of vibe.
We'll come back, please.
We will.
100%.
I'll see you in Montgomery.
We love to shoot the shit.
See you in Alabama.
Up next, George Byrd joins us.
He recently came on stage and performed with Lana Del Rey
at Stagecoach.
Wanna catch up with him, see how he's doing,
and have some fun.
Period.
See you guys.
Bye.
Bye.
Ask me what I was just doing.
What were you just doing?
I was just looking at our baby River on our Nanit.
Oh my gosh, I do that all the time.
It's so easy.
So easy.
The few times I have to leave Maya family,
it's really sad, but thank God I have the Nanit by my side.
When I go to bed, I will go to sleep,
I'm in a hotel room, and then I'll turn on the Nanit,
and I'll listen to my daughter sleep with the sleep sound machine, and it's great. And I just feel like I'm close to sleep, I'm in a hotel room, and then I'll turn on the Nanit, and I'll listen to my daughter sleep
with the sleep sound machine, and it's great.
And I just feel like I'm close to my daughter,
I'm still connected to my daughter, it's wonderful.
Plus, it's like incredible, the camera quality,
the information you can get from your baby sleeping,
it's like the peace of mind every parent
absolutely wants to have.
The Baby Monitor allows you to see your baby
from anywhere at any time when you're at work,
traveling, or having a date night,
you can stay connected, all, or having a date night.
You can stay connected all from the Nanit app.
And I love it so much because you can watch a movie,
you can be on a phone call,
you can be doing so many other things on your phone
and the sound in the Nanit app is still working.
You can still hear your baby.
The camera quality, like Nick was saying, is so good.
I will zoom in and literally watch River breathe.
It's that good.
Nanit allows you to track your baby's breathing,
sleep patterns, and developmental milestones,
providing you with personalized insights
to understand your baby like never before.
Also, I love like if I'm putting her to bed,
I can go back and like rewind the video
and watch us in there together.
It's really, really special moments.

Parenthood looks different here.
George, welcome to the show, man.
Nick, I'm so glad to be here, man. Thank you guys for. Nick, I'm so glad to be here, man.
Thank you guys for having me.
I'm so glad to have you, man.
Like, we saw you at Stagecoach.
You got to perform with Lana Del Rey.
We're huge fans of her.
So, yeah, welcome to, you know, thanks for taking the time.
What a world, guys.
One day, Lana, like, what's going on?
You know, when you came on stage, we're like,
yeah, we'll be interviewing him in a couple days, no big deal.
I gotta pump y'all up.
I told Lana at soundcheck that I was coming
on the show with you guys.
Don't.
And she was pumped.
Don't.
I swear to you, she's a huge Bachelor fan
and she knew exactly about you guys
and she was like oh you're gonna love it
and here's what you have to say
and this is everything about them.
So Lana gassed you guys up.
So now I'm super pumped to be here.
How did that?
Now I feel like I really have to,
now the pressure's on.
Yeah, yeah, Lana's listening.
Hey, Lana.
How did that opportunity come about?
That's crazy.
Like wildest dreams kind of stuff.
An email.
An email?
From her management to my management,
it was one sentence,
would George like to play cowboy songs
with Lana Del Rey at Stagecoach?
Yes, of course.
And so we said, yes.
No, but at first did you think it was real?
It's a spam message.
Obviously, but I have been chasing this dream forever,
so I'm not used to any of this, guys, any of this.
Even playing Stagecoach, I'm like, how am I here? So last year was used to any of this guys, like any, any of this, um, even playing stage coach. I'm like, how am I here? Um,
so last year was the craziest year of my life and we started to have some real
success for the first time. So all this still feels a bit like a fever dream,
but we get this email in and I had text my manager back. I was like, Hey man,
that's spam. That's not, I was like, you were getting catfish.
And he was like, no man,
I just got off a conference call
with her management in London and this is very real.
And next thing I know, she's flying us out there.
She covered our hotel rooms for the week
and we flew out on Monday of stagecoach
and they had been there three weeks rehearsing.
Cause I mean, that staging was insane.
They built a whole house.
Yeah, they really, yeah, the set was wild.
It literally felt like you were walking onto a movie set.
So we go out there and walk in
and she's just sitting in her dressing room,
just her and her husband,
who is the nicest, most country guy that I've ever met.
So she married a gator boat captain from Louisiana.
And he's like still giving tours.
Like he is still crushing.
And he sounds, and I can say this
because this is what she calls him.
She calls him Waterboy because he sounds like
Bobby Boucher from the Waterboy when he talks.
And I had to thank him.
He said that he has country music on
in the house all the time.
And that's how Lana heard the song.
And that they started dancing to cowboy songs
in the kitchen every night.
And she had toyed with it for a while
and then ended up asking us.
Isn't that a crazy thing to like realize?
I mean, just like you obviously teasing that Lana,
even aware of us is a cool moment for us,
but to know that you wrote a song
that she is enjoying with her man.
I'm assuming that's why you do what you do, right?
To make connections with people and music for,
every couple has their song, you know what I'm saying?
Absolutely. There's things that like, and one of yours couple has their song, you know what I'm saying? Like there's things that like, and, and, and, and one of yours is one of hers.
You know what I'm saying?
And it's like literally making memories around it, right?
Like dancing in the kitchen to it.
That's exactly why I write songs.
And, and you lose perspective of that a little bit in the creative process and you try not
to, because you want to write with the intention of songs going to that place.
But a lot of times it's three of us in a dark studio with a guitar and you, and,
and you don't really know the reach for where those songs are going.
So having like those moments in the live shows and seeing where these land and
how they affect people is so inspiring as a writer, as an artist, um, and to
have the biggest of the big, uh, making it part of their lives.
It's pretty cool.
Yeah. Lana wore, uh, the wedding dress from the big making it part of their lives. It's pretty cool.
Lana wore the wedding dress from the same designer
that Nellie wore.
So the girls who designed my wedding dress
are now dear, dear friends of mine
and they named a part of this wedding dress
the river after our daughter.
And Lana wore the river to her wedding.
So you're trendsetter.
So now my daughter gets to grow up
and tell people, yeah, Lana Del Rey wore
the wedding dress named after me. Was inspired by my mom. How insane is that? I love that.
It's crazy. What was the first part of Cowboy Songs that you had landed? Like, was it the chorus?
Yeah. What was that part like? I think it was a concept. So it was me and a couple of buddies.
And I do my best writing when I get out of town.
It can feel very corporate in Nashville
just because once you have a record deal
and once you have a publishing deal and management
and everybody's, you know, it can get monetized
and just commercialized so quick, especially in town.
And they'll put it on your calendar, you know,
from 11 to four, you're gonna be in the studio today.
And we booked you XYZ writer who has written XYZ hit
and they're gonna be in the room with you
and they're gonna help you write these songs
and all of a sudden you feel like you lose a bit
of your like creative spark, right?
Because music is not something
that you can flip a light on and off.
You can't say like, I'm gonna write a hit today
or I'm gonna capture magic today
or I'm gonna feel inspired today.
It's very much equated to fishing, right?
Like you have a line in the water,
most days you're not gonna catch anything
and every day now and then you're gonna catch something worth line in the water, most days you're not gonna catch anything, and every day, now and then,
you're gonna catch something worth hanging on the wall.
And so you're just trying to catch that lightning
in a bottle.
And so I like to get off campus.
We'll go rent a house on a beach or a lake
or somewhere that's quiet and still,
and there's no pressure.
And if you wanna write a song at six o'clock in the morning,
or if you wanna write a song at midnight, you can do it.
And so it was me and three buddies,
we had spent a week out there,
and I've kind of found my circle in town
of guys that know me.
And I think that's really important for me
when I'm writing with other songwriters,
just knowing what I would and wouldn't say,
what my brand is, who I am,
because as an artist, I have to go believe it
when I sing it on stage.
Country fans, like no other,
can sniff out bullshit in a heartbeat, right?
Like if you don't believe it,
like if you're not selling it for real,
they will call you out on it so fast.
And so I've got guys that know me and we're sitting
and we'd written a couple songs already.
And my buddy goes, man, I don't know what this means.
He's like, I don't even have any other words around it.
But I had this title and I thought it was cool.
And it's called, She Only Dances to Cowboy Songs.
I paused for a second and I just kind of tried
to flip some pictures in my head. And I I was like I know exactly what that means. And my wife
and I met when we were 18 years old down in Texas. She's a West Texas
farmer's daughter from Abilene. I grew up in Austin and I remember the first time
I saw her and she's always you know Daisy Dukes and cowboy boots and I
remember thinking like that's the hottest girl I've ever seen when I saw her
in a bar. And she is so put together that's the hottest girl I've ever seen when I saw her in a bar.
And she is so put together these days.
But she was a bit rowdy when we were in college.
And it took me a couple months of chasing her
to kind of finally get her to agree on a date with me
and like us to get together.
And so I started like picturing all these smoky
dive bar nights of like chasing her.
And there's only cowboy songs when you're going out in Austin. And this song kind of just came out of that, yeah.
Wow. It's a great story.
Yeah, what did she, what was, what did she think of it?
Oh, she loved it.
She loved it, yeah.
She's got a little crop top that says
she only dances to cowboy songs on it now.
So she's very proud to have inspired this song.
Yeah.
And you, you're a father?
I am, I have two little boys.
We start young in Texas. so they're five and eight and
They are just like my little clones. We we barbecue in the backyard when I'm home. I got him playing golf with me
So we'll go play
We're on the road most of the days
But usually the bus gets back to Nashville Sunday morning and we'll go play three or four holes of golf together
And then barbecue in the afternoon. They love country music. They're actually flying out to Denver this weekend
to come to the show.
And yeah, my little crew.
Do they give you their opinion on your son?
100%.
That's real honest, too.
My older son gases me up, like everything I write.
He's like, dad, that was the best thing you ever did.
He's like, that's gonna be a hit, dad.
And my younger son, he's like, no, that's trash, dad.
So it's a good cop, bad cop situation.
We were interviewing Jordan Davis
and he was telling us that his son loves trucks.
And so anytime he writes a song about a truck,
his son's like, oh my God, I love it.
It's the best song ever.
And then his daughter will hate it.
But if it's a song about like love and sweet,
she'll be like, dad, I love this song.
You gotta know your target.
Yeah, you gotta know.
What is, as a new dad myself,
I have a 15 month year old daughter.
What was your favorite age so far?
I think I was just thinking about that
because I was reading a little bit about you guys
before I came in and I saw that y'all have a new daughter.
And I think y'all are right on the cusp
of the most fun part, right?
About 18 months, I feel like their personality
starts to come out a little bit.
You start getting some of that babble,
some of the first words, some of the attitude
starts to come in.
She's actually, it's already happening.
Yeah, yeah.
100%, because the first year especially,
mom is in charge no matter what,
just because mom can nurture them and sue them
and it's that comfortable blanket.
But about 18 months, that's when dad can start
getting a little bit of attitude and hanging with them
and the personality comes out. And that's when I had so much fun. We woke up dad can start getting a little bit of attitude and hanging with them and the personality comes out.
And that's when I had so much fun.
We woke up this morning and watched a little bit
of the rescuers done under me and her.
Great flick by the way.
It's a great flick.
Have you on the edge of your seat.
Honestly, I grew up watching Disney movies as a kid
and I watched all the animated ones.
I wanted to be a cartoonist when I was a kid.
So I was obsessed with them,
but it's been a minute since I've watched some.
So it's been fun to go back and watch some of the OG ones.
And Rescuers Down Under is a really good one.
You get to re-watch a bunch of stuff
that you wouldn't really have an excuse to watch
by yourself without kids, right?
But I mean, now I'm going to the movies
and watching Sonic the Hedgehog.
I just went and saw the Minions in the movie theater.
I'm like, I wouldn't have done that by myself, but I'm in.
It's fun.
I get some popcorn and go hang with the kids.
The other thing is as they get a little bit older and start eating off the kids menu,
like you're not going to order a cheese quesadilla yourself,
but if there's a leftover one on the kids menu, you can take that.
That's so true.
Nellie fucks with the kids menu a lot.
I do.
I feel like my daughter who has three teeth, I'm like,
can we do the chicken fingers and the mac and cheese?
All you wish she does.
Yeah, yeah.
The other day, we didn't even bring her over.
She's like, can I order off the kids' menu?
They had on the kids' menu a Crunchwrap Supreme,
and it was like not Taco Bell.
And I'm like, this has to be amazing.
How are you gonna say no to that?
Literally, I'm like, this is only for children,
12 and under?
That's crazy.
But back to you.
You have opened up for Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert.
Those are two massive, massive country artists.
Have they mentored you in any sort of way?
Have they given you any advice that you've taken with you?
Yeah.
Gosh, those guys.
It's crazy to even be able to call them friends now because they were such an impact on me
just watching them on YouTube when I was in high school trying to sound like them and write songs like them.
And so to even be in the same ballgame
as those guys now is insane.
Brantley was the first artist to bet on me big.
I had no following.
I had just signed a record deal as a solo artist.
I don't think I was worth 10 tickets at the time.
And he asked me to come open back to back nights
for him at Red Rocks.
And that was kind of my coming out party.
I mean, it was probably four years ago now.
And I remember just like pure adrenaline
and it was sold out both nights and you look up
and Red Rocks goes straight up.
So even the back seat, the 10,000th person in the back
is on top of you looking down when you're on stage.
So you go out there and it just feels like
you're in a coliseum.
And the reverb from the rocks all around you,
from that first strum, it just sounds larger than life.
And I remember being like, man,
this is what I wanna do forever.
This is the coolest feeling in the world.
And so we got to play that and it was incredible.
And thank God it was back to back nights
because the first night I'm pretty sure I blacked out.
Like I don't remember anything, it was like pure adrenaline.
But I go side stage to watch Brantley's set
and he's playing and he's killing it.
And Brantley's just like the king cool, right?
Like everything he says is badass.
And he takes a little cigarette break,
like 30 minutes into the set, which I also think is insane.
But he's letting the band jam and he walks side stage
and I'll never forget, he lit a cigarette
and he takes his big drag and he exhales
and he looks to the side of me and he goes,
"'Pretty fucking cool, huh?'
And I was like, yeah man, this is pretty fucking cool.
And he's just so, he's such a big guy
with all those tattoos and I bet he will,
yeah, just like anything he says is just so cool.
He's the best and we've since gotten to start writing songs together.
He's like a big brother to me.
He's had a huge influence on my sound.
And then, and then Aldine, I mean, entertainer of the year,
one of the best to ever do it in country music,
a pioneer of his sound.
Like nobody sounded like Jason when he came out.
And I think the rock and roll cowboy,
he was the first to put those like big beefy guitars
and big drums and add some of that energy to country music.
And I did not know that I was to be able to do the artist thing.
A lot of times the track in Nashville is you're a songwriter first, you
write some hits, other people cut them.
And then if you get lucky, you'll have somebody believe in you enough to let
you give a shot of recording your own songs.
And so my first number one was a song called mind on you.
And I didn't have a record deal or anything going at the time.
And I had written mind on you.
And I sent it to Jason Aldean just being like this guy is
the one I want to sing this song and the next day I get an email back saying
like don't play this song for anybody Jason wants to put it on his new record
and I'm like out of my mind I'm like this is everything I could have dreamed
of like I've made it this is you can't tell me anything I'm gonna be a hit
songwriter here we go and fast forward about six months I had just my social
media went viral,
all of a sudden all the record labels are calling,
I got to sign a record deal, which was insane.
And I'm on the phone with the head of the label,
and he's like, hey man, he's like,
we're so excited to work with you,
and we've been listening to music,
but that song that you gave to Aldine,
he's like, I need you to call and ask for it back,
because it's gonna be your first single,
and it's gonna change your life.
And I remember just feeling like the pit in my stomach,
being like, how am I gonna call the entertainer of the year
and ask for my song back?
But he was so kind about it.
And he was excited for me,
and he was excited for my opportunity.
But like, to go back, like the call itself,
like you, did you just, you called him up?
I called his producer.
You called his producer, okay.
I didn't wanna like, I took the middle man route.
So I called his producer and I was like,
hey man, this is the situation, could you talk to Jason?
And like, then let me know. And he was like, man, I'm I called his producer and I was like, hey man, this is the situation. Could you talk to Jason and let me know?
And he was like, man, I'm sure he's gonna be fine about it,
but let me talk to him.
And they were, they were excited for me
and for the opportunity.
They were probably like, this kid's an idiot
because you've got, like, if Jason Aldean cuts my song,
it's gonna go to number one if he puts it out.
Everything he puts out goes to number one.
My kids will be able to go to college.
I'll be able to finally pay my electrical bill.
Like life will be a little bit easier. Instead I'm gonna take
that away and I'm gonna bet on a new artist on a startup record label who's
never had a hit before. Which if you crunch the numbers on that there's
probably like a less than 1% chance of it working. So Jason was probably like
good luck. You know him. I don't know nothing about country music other than
that I'm a fan. But I'm like at some point Jason had a bet on himself
Yeah
And I'm guessing when you made that call like it reminded him of a moment where you know at some point
He was you and there was you know, maybe it was Alan Jackson or you know
Yeah, someone else he had to like do that with and like that was your bet on yourself moment
And so he was probably like happy to do that. It's so funny you say that because
About just over a year later, um, the song did go number one with my name on it, which was insane and it changed my life.
Was a breakout song in my career.
And I saw Jason at a after party and I went up and said, thank you.
And he was like, man, I have been following the life of this song.
He's like, I've been watching it all the way up the chart.
He's like, I want to tell you.
He was like, it reminds me so much of my path. Because Broken Bow, the label that he's on now,
and then he started, he was the first artist on the label,
or like the startup artist on the label,
he was their first number one.
It was a long shot for him,
and he had had a couple failed record deals before,
and he was like, it reminds me a lot of my path.
And he was like, I was rooting for you,
and it was really cool to see you.
So like that, I was 10 feet tall after that conversation,
it was really cool.
The stories like that give me chills too.
Like even when you came out with Lana
and you were just like, you said,
like my heart's beating out of my chest
and you could believe it, right?
In a very charming, very cool way.
I love moments like that.
I love it when people like don't hide their nerves
and just kind of lean into it,
because like it's just a very human thing.
And then when you are, you know,
Jason Aldean level and you're the biggest country rock star,
you'll look back and those would be like,
those surreal moments, you know?
Like it's a very cool thing to remember that.
You just try to capture the energy when we're out there.
And I will tell you, standing stage with Lana,
I've gotten to do some cool stuff, right?
Like for now, I've danced with Jason and Brantley
and I'm direct support for Luke Bryan all summer,
which is 20,000 people in the amphitheaters, it's amazing.
Hearing that crowd scream for Lana before I went on stage,
I had my in-ears in, I had my pack turned all the way up,
which is supposed to mute the crowd
so you can hear what you're doing.
And it was so loud, I couldn't hear anything,
and my heart was beating so, I was like,
I don't know if I can say my last name
in the microphone right now.
But you know, you get out there and you start
and adrenaline kind of kicks in, and it went incredible it is a rush like none other that's for sure
I mean obviously there's like Lana's one of them post Malone is another one like
Are you into the some of the artists making that transition?
Do you feel like it's a level of respect that like country music in general is getting or is it more like?
You know do you stay out of our lane kind of thing? I think that's such a good question
I grew up on country music.
It's basically all I ever listened to.
Uh, and it's sacred to me, right?
Like it's my memories of my dad and I in the truck and songs that like, I would
just get lost in and I would plug my own memories in it.
And like, I still remember my dad like showing me his favorite songs and Willie
Nelson and George Strait and falling in love with it.
And I think that country is such a unique genre because it is super
family and friends based and it's so connected and it's values based.
And I think there's a lot of strength in that.
But I also think that like, I'm so excited that the genre that I personally
love and that I've made like my life goal to grow is in such a huge spotlight right now.
Now I do think that there's like a right and a wrong way to do it.
I think that if you want to come into country music,
I think having a background in it,
knowing who the stars before you were,
knowing their songs, knowing what the influences were
and using that to like create the country sound
that you're wanting to create,
I think is an awesome way to do it.
I think Post Malone coming and living in Nashville
for two years and writing with all Nashville songwriters
and featuring Nashville artists on his record,
I think he did it in such a perfect way and I think he's making genuine
country music and I think it has been such a blessing for us to have him over here because
it's grown the genre like crazy. And that's not a flash in a pan thing either. I mean,
he's been a country fan for a long time and I think that that kind of reverence shows that
you genuinely care about the genre and genuinely want to be part of it rather than just like
capitalizing on a pop moment, you know, or like a flash in a pan. I have a crazy story about Post Malone.
My first record deal, I was in a band and I got signed by Toby Keith. Toby and I went on tour.
It was me and then I think it was David Lee Murphy and then Toby on the tour. It was the coolest
tour I've ever been on, these legends and I'm kicking off the show and I'm playing when there's like
a thousand people there, you know, nobody's gotten to their seats yet.
Everybody's like pouring a drink and we're on stage to an empty amphitheater.
But it was awesome, right?
And this had been 2018 and it was Toby's birthday in Virginia Beach.
And he was like, hey, man, after the show, show we're gonna party on the bus and I was like hell
Yeah, I'm gonna get to party with Toby Keith tonight. Like this is gonna be awesome, right? So I finished my so I was probably like
Gosh, I'd have been in my late 20s. Like yeah. Yeah
27 something like that. Yeah, and
So we go to the bus with Toby
and he has like a little tailgate area set out outside.
So I'm sitting there, I have my agent,
cause everybody's always got like their handlers, right?
Somebody to like keep you from doing something stupid,
but also point you in the right direction.
So my handler's taking me over here,
putting me in the chair,
making sure I'm in the right spot
when Toby walks up and stuff.
And I see this group of guys walking behind Toby
on the way up to the bus
and my manager's like tapping on the shoulder
and he's like, hey man, that's Post Malone.
And I was like, who's Post Malone?
I have no idea who that is.
Because this is like a long time ago, right?
I think he's like fresh off of White Iverson blowing up.
And Post was on tour and had made a point
to come out to that show because he was a huge Toby Keith fan.
And this is what, eight years before,
seven years before he makes a country record.
So I mean, he's loved country for a long time.
So we go up on the bus, and the other guys were with him,
were Seal Team Six.
So it was me, Seal Team Six, Post Malone and Toby Keith.
And we passed around like one of the giant,
giant handles of Jack Daniels.
Everybody was smoking inside the tour bus and a guitar.
And we passed it around and played covers
until like four o'clock in the morning.
Were you just like, what the fuck is my life? Worst hangover of my life, first of all, right?
Seal Team Six is singing like karaoke style with us. Me, Tovey, and Post are passing it along.
And Post Malone's singing like Randy Travis and George Strait. And like, he's not Googling
anything. He knows all the chords. He knows all the words. And I was like, that, he genuinely
loves country music. And I think that's incredible. My phone died They were on tour buses. We were not at the time
We were still we were flying to shows and staying in hotels at the time
So I knew I was in a holiday inn and I got in a cab because my phone was dead
I couldn't take an uber and I went to five holiday inns before I found the one that I was staying at and watched the sunrise
To this day the worst hangover of my life, but an incredible night
What an expensive cab ride.
You're like, all right, take it to the next one.
We'll try the next one.
What were the covers you were singing?
Gosh, I love to do The Fireman by George Strait,
One More Last Chance by Vince Gill,
and then Party Crowd by David Lee Murphy.
I kind of like my go-tos.
But I'm a country fiend.
So if you're playing something between 90s and now
country music, I'm singing along with you.
So yeah, yeah.
Random question.
As someone who can't sing, period,
you have a beautiful voice.
I hope I can say that.
Thank you, buddy.
But who is your favorite male vocalist
in country music today?
I would say like, niche-y, like more dated inspiration
would probably be Gary Allen. He's kind of like dark niche-y, like more dated inspiration would probably be Gary Allen.
He's kind of like dark, smoky, mysterious.
Today, Cameron Marlowe is incredible.
He's got a big husky voice that just like, it makes you feel something when he sings it.
So, yeah.
I feel like Zaktop is also kind of in that like, bringing that like, deep, old school country voice kind of back?
About a, I wanna say a year ago.
There's different types of shows that we do as artists,
right, we do the big full band stagecoach
or like the Luke Bryan tour in amphitheaters
where you're rocking and it's smoke and it's pyro
and huge and then country radio is still a huge part
of breaking careers.
We say that like as big as streaming is,
country is very much radio as well.
It helps you sell tickets, it helps break a career,
and so we put a lot of time into radio,
and we'll go do these acoustic concerts
for radio stations in big markets
where they'll have a bunch of listeners get to come for free
and it'll introduce us,
and we'll just play us on a guitar on a bar stool
and kind of tell the stories of how the songs came about.
That way, when they hear them on the radio,
they know the artist, they have some familiarity, and they also know how the song came about. And way, when they hear them on the radio, they know the artist, they have some familiarity,
and they also know how the song came about.
And so Zach and I, about a year ago,
because I had my first hit just before him,
and then he started blowing up,
and we were doing it together,
and we're sitting on the stage,
and I think it was me, Zach, Cameron Marlowe,
and Tiger Lilly Gold was the other act.
And I had not heard Zach play before.
I've done this for a minute,
and I've played with some of the biggest artists in the world,
and I've never once felt like I can't hang,
or I can't do that.
Like I've always felt like, for whatever reason,
I've always had a rational confidence,
like I belong here and I can do this.
I was watching Zach play and sing,
and I was like, oh shit.
I was like, I don't think I can do that.
What was it about it that you...
He's just so flawless.
He doesn't look like he's trying at all.
He doesn't miss a note.
He's got that twang where he can have the breakup
in the top of his voice, but also hit those low
Randy Travis notes at the bottom of his range.
And meanwhile, he's flat picking guitar,
like he's got a lead guitar player on stage with him.
And half the time he's smoking a cigarette
or drinking a whiskey while he's doing it.
And you're like, it's not as easy as he makes it look,
I promise you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's crazy.
So we've become fast friends actually.
Zach and I have kind of both been having crazy years.
His has been very crazy, but he's super down to earth guy.
We both love a lot of the same things,
and I am definitely rooting for him to take over the world
because he's a great guy.
You personally give like flowers to everyone,
which feels, you know, it's like, I think country
music in general is like, it's not, there's room for everyone.
And like, I think as your story with Jason, it's like, he was happy to give you that song
back and happy to watch it blow up because he's like, listen, like, I'm, I'm, there's
room for you.
Like, I'm excited to have you in this space.
And it's really cool that you're able to like do that as well with people.
I think it's something that I had a longer past than most to get here.
Like I fell on my face, my face a lot.
Um, I joke, like if there's a bear trap to fall in, I've fallen in it from bad
management deals to bad lawyers to lost label deals.
Um, I had five failed singles in a band before I even started a solo career.
And I very much thought that it might never happen.
And so the fact that it has opened up to me now
and people have given me a chance,
and the biggest thing about country music
is no matter how good you are,
unless somebody gives you a hand up,
you're never gonna get a big enough platform
to break all the way.
Yeah, you need someone, you need an angel.
Right, you have to have somebody tap you on the shoulder and say you're good enough to
be here and kind of give you that credibility.
Jake Owen did that for Zack Top.
He posted on his social media, he said this kid is gonna be the biggest thing in the world
and he wasn't wrong about it.
Brantley did it for me.
So you have to have that and I think you're so right in that like country fans are so loyal.
They buy tickets, they show up, there's enough to go around for everybody.
I think if you're scared of the guy that's opening for you or you're scared of helping
out a new artist, you're probably in the wrong place and you probably need to look in the
mirror a little bit, right?
Like, yeah.
So.
Well, it won't be long as your current single.
Yes.
How did that come about?
How are you feeling about it?
Oh my gosh.
The response has been amazing.
It's my favorite song I've ever written.
I am in a new chapter of my life,
which is exciting and scary at the same time.
I had my first two number ones last year.
All of a sudden, my world's turned upside down.
I feel like there's a lot more people
that care what I have to say now.
I still get a little bit of anxiety playing shows.
Are people gonna show up?
And then I'll peek behind the curtain.
I'm like, holy shit, it sold out.
So it's very much like new territory for me and
the crazy thing is like you have
your whole life to write your first couple of hits on you because you have your whole life to write your first record and
Then they need the next one in six months. And so it's like you have to very quickly find out like who you are
What do you want to say? How do you want to evolve? How do you want to grow it?
And I was having a bit of a panic attack at the end of last year of like I just got to the dance
I don't want to leave now
Like I need to back this up and I didn't have a song that I was in love with yet
I had a bunch of stuff that sounded like it had kind of been run through the Nashville filter
Like it had just sounded like if you try hard enough you could make this a hit but it's not gonna inspire
Anybody to go dance in the kitchen or it's not gonna inspire anybody to like memories. And that's what I wanna do, that's why I make music.
And around Thanksgiving of last year,
I'm from Texas and my dad's an old cowboy,
tough old son of a gun,
and he had come visit me in Nashville,
and I have two little guys of my own,
like we talked about,
and I was looking through the window in the backyard,
and the old cowboy that taught me everything I know
was teaching my little guys the same thing. Like how to shoot a coke can with a BB gun,
how to throw a football. He was helping to put a log on the fire in the fire pit.
And I specifically remember that old man teaching me all the same things.
And it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I was like, all of those things that seem like
such nothing moments at the time, right? Like they're fleeting little one second, here are their moments.
They seem just like mundane life.
When you fast forward and you look back on them,
a lot of them are core memories that you like hold onto forever,
for whatever reason.
And I was watching that happen in real time.
And it hit me like a ton of bricks.
And so that song ended up falling out that afternoon.
And I think it was just like,
it was a way for me to peel back the curtain a little bit.
As my fans are getting closer to me,
I wanted to get closer to them
and tell the story a little bit more.
And I just, it felt like a really special time in my life
and I wanted to capture that because it moves fast
if you let it and you gotta grab onto those memories
while you can.
So that was how the song was inspired.
And I was a little bit nervous
because it's as vulnerable as I've gotten songwriting
and it's not a big banger tempo. It's very like piano vocal based. So you always get a little
bit scared to put out a ballad as an artist because you got to have an intent listener to
listen to a ballad. And we also need that as listeners. It ended up being the biggest
release of my life and has been the fastest climbing the chart ever. So it was really exciting to see it land.
And this country music is real life.
Yeah.
No, I mean, I love, that's a great story.
I've said this multiple times.
Every time you get to interview someone like yourself
in country music, I haven't always been a fan
and I didn't grow up as a fan of country music.
And Natalie, my wife is the one who got me into it.
But it was the fact, it was the atmosphere of,
first you started taking me to concerts, right?
It's like one thing to listen to music on the radio
if you're not necessarily a fan of it,
and you're like, okay, you kind of zone out.
But when you're in it, when you're in the atmosphere,
and you're right, maybe it was just like
the season of my life I was in,
getting married, having a kid,
but yeah, it feels like everything about country music
is like a core memory, the family values.
And maybe it's just like I just really fell in love
with that aspect of the music, right?
Because it's a storytelling.
Yeah, it's a storytelling.
It made me feel like, yeah, you're among friends
in a weird way.
I didn't really know any, I'm at a country music festival
and you feel like you're with your people, right? Because every, you hear people like
connecting with the songs and like there's just a great feeling there that
with other music I didn't get out of that, you know? So I think this is such a
great take on it to the, when you said it's a different season of life because
we were talking about other artists coming to country music and I think that
it like as you grow up,
and as you look for more depth in lyric,
and as you have a few more memories
to maybe attach to the songs,
or life experiences that you have to attach to the songs,
it has a little more weight on it.
So that's why Ed Sheeran has said
that he wants to make country records.
And Post Malone saying when he turns 30 years old,
he's gonna be a country artist.
I think that's what country is.
It's love, it's loss, it's life experiences put into songs. And I think once you have
enough of your own memories to plug into those songs, they may be hit a little bit different.
They really do. That's what's great about it. Uh, this is a total random question. We
were watching Carly Pearce, a friend of show and you know, so we know her and so like,
it's weird when you know someone who's an artist and they come on stage and you like
see the human, but before you're like, Oh, that's Carly Perry, the performer.
What the fuck are y'all looking at sometimes when you have like someone else coming on
and you're introducing them or your band's playing and like you are you engaging with
the crowd? Because like sometimes I saw Carly just almost like look up and over because
like she almost was not trying to make eye contact because it could almost be distracting
Like and I just became like so enthralled with like trying to figure out what Carly was looking at
Do you is it weird up there sometimes?
so I told you all this is I'm learning as I go right because this these size of crowds are pretty new to me and
When I was playing for 20 people, I was just so damn thankful that they were there
I was like looking at every single person.
You're shaking their hand as you were singing.
I hope I see you at the next one and thank you for being here.
You promised you'll come to the next one.
And so like I would come out to these big shows with that same attitude and you can't.
Like there's just too much going on and you have to put on a show and you have to
think about the lyrics that you're saying and who's coming out and what's the next
song on the set list and your drummer's talking and your talkback
mic saying, Hey, I don't have click in the, in the house right now. I need the sound guy.
So like, there's so much going on that the crowd doesn't see that when you look out there
and somebody is holding up a cell phone that says like, you know, take your shirt off or
play Wacken wheel or whatever, like, and you're trying to read those,
while that's going on, like you will fuck up, I promise.
So sometimes you have to just like,
look at the broader picture of it.
Look at the horizon.
Thank you for answering that question,
because I was like so like,
what the fuck is she looking at?
Anything that they're writing on the phone screen
and holding up, I promise you don't want to read it.
It's like, yeah.
Well, George, this has been so much fun, man.
Congratulations on all your success.
Can we expect an album?
Yeah.
We are working on an album right now.
I've got a bunch of writers out on the bus with me
on tour this summer.
So we're just trying to catch like the energy
from playing the shows, come back on the bus
and write a song that we feel like they would wanna listen to.
Love it.
And so an album in the works, but,
and maybe some duets, some huge duets that I can't believe I'm a part of coming
Maybe don't tease. I can't say any names, but I would say in the next two months
You will see some pretty awesome
Well, do me a favor don't forget us on the way up
I have a feeling like this is really,
truly just the start for you.
Like I'm a huge fan of resilient people.
I love stories that you told about like all the fuck ups
and all the mistakes and all the opportunities
you had to quit but didn't.
And I just think I've sold my respect
for those kind of people
because like they're just gonna be successful.
They just are, you know?
Like it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. And I think it's just obvious talking to you like they're just gonna be successful. They just are, you know, like it's just, it's not a matter of if it's a matter of when,
and I think it's just obvious talking to you, you're that type of person.
So when, um, you know, just don't forget us when you're on top.
Hey, Lana, they'll raise a huge fan and so am I.
So I promise I won't.
Well, she hasn't been on this show yet.
So I'm just saying you are here.
We are definitely using that when we picture, Hey, George said that.
Congratulations, man. Thanks for coming, coming man, I really appreciate you.
Thanks for having me.
Wishing nothing but the best.
Nick, Natalie, you guys are awesome,
thanks for having me on.
Thank you guys for listening,
thank you George for coming on as well as Manny
and Laura as well.
We will be back next week,
don't forget to check out the episode
of Going Deeper with JoJo Siwa.
It's a doozy answering all your burning questions
about everything that's going on in her life,
Big Brother and more, her music career.
It's a wild one. Don't forget to check it out. We will see you back on Monday.
