Starting point is 00:00:00 As women, our life stages come with unique risk factors, like when our estrogen levels drop during menopause, causing the risk of heart disease to go up. Know your risks. Visit heartandstroke.ca. FX's The Veil explores the surprising and fraught relationship between two women who play a deadly game of truth and lies on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London. One woman has a secret.
Starting point is 00:00:28 The other, a mission to reveal it before thousands of lives are lost. FX's The Veil, starring Elizabeth Moss, is now streaming on Disney+. Welcome back everybody to another episode of the Weekly Planet, official podcast of ComicBookMovie.com. My name is James, you may know me as Mr. Sunday. With me as always, my co-host, Nicholas Dickless Mason. Nothing there. No, that's great. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:01:06 It's brought it all back. Good. Wow. Sorry. No, that's fine. Look, I'm actually very proud of you that you didn't take that shot at me much earlier in the run of this podcast. I was going to say, before I was so rudely interrupted.
Starting point is 00:01:20 With my intro that I do every week. With your intro, yes. Your insulting intro. You've got a YouTube channel Mr. Sunday Movies And I don't subscribe to it Because I'm not a damn fool What?
Starting point is 00:01:30 No, that's not true I just haven't subscribed to it Do you have a YouTube-y thingy? No But anyway So every week you put up a new video So I search for it I go to YouTube
Starting point is 00:01:38 And I type Mr. Sun And then I pause Because I'm like, that's close enough And every week Like above Mr. Sunday movies there's Mr. Sun Sun Mr. Golden Sun who's that
Starting point is 00:01:49 I don't know I've never clicked on it but this week you're above that you've yes you've beaten Mr. Sun Sun
Starting point is 00:01:55 Mr. Golden Sun whatever that is I assume it's maybe a kids like one of those Teletubbies okay yeah maybe that's what it is
Starting point is 00:02:02 yeah whatever that is I'll put a clip of it at the end of this. Fantastic. Alright? Yeah, so you're the winner and they're the loser.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Take that, idiot. Yeah. If everybody could send hate mail, no, don't do that. To Mr. Sun Sun, Mr. Golden Sun. That is amazing news.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Yeah, isn't it? What a great way to start. I had like an insulting thing and you had like a compliment. Yeah, that's right. I guess that's that. We've turned it around. We sure have.
Starting point is 00:02:23 It's usually the other way around. It normally is. So yeah, straight into the news then. Let's go's that. We've turned it around. We sure have. It's usually the other way around. It normally is. So yeah, straight into the news then. Let's go into the news. Roughly the news. This is a podcast about roughly the news, sort of. It sure is. Partly.
Starting point is 00:02:32 We do other things. Tangents. Oh, yeah, we go on a lot of tangents. Personal vendettas. Yeah, vendettas, sure. Intravenous drug use. Wait, what? Hey, what the hell is this thing in my arm?
Starting point is 00:02:43 Okay, so Sin City 2, Mason. Yep. People have been asking me, or us, could we talk about it? We can't, because it's not out for like another month or something. With the Marvel... Just here or worldwide? No, worldwide it's out. Oh, okay, great.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Or the US it is at least. Like the Marvel and DC stuff we normally get around the same time. Uh-huh. I think Man of Steel was like two weeks after. I was furious. I can imagine. I was furious. But no, we can't obviously review it because it's not bloody it's not bloody out here yet so
Starting point is 00:03:09 we will when it when it happens i guess talk about it briefly but also the other thing is it has tanked horribly right like very very badly which i guess that's what happens when you wait nine years to do a sequel yeah absolutely you know like that that got a lot of heat that movie didn't it when it came out like it we absolutely. You know, like that got a lot of heat, that movie, didn't it, when it came out? Boy, did it, yeah. People seemed to like it. We'd not really seen anything like that before. No.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Except for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, obviously. And then The Spirit. And then The Spirit after that, yeah. Which was its spiritual sequel. They weren't related. But Frank Miller did it. And it was... How far did we get into that?
Starting point is 00:03:41 10 minutes? Yeah. 12 minutes, something like that. And we don't often turn things off. No. Not good. But hey. Yeah, there often turn things off. No. Not good. But hey. Yeah, there's a guy I was going to recommend later,
Starting point is 00:03:50 Josh Lewis Reviews. He's really good. But he said that... I asked him, I said, oh, he had a kind of negative review. And I was like, oh, at least it's better than The Spirit. And he's like,
Starting point is 00:03:57 not really. Wow, okay. But I don't know. Apparently, by all accounts, it's okay. But anyway, we're supposed to make $15 million opening week, which is okay, I guess. You know, know considering but it's more likely to open about six or seven million that's not good no single digits millions yeah i mean i take them certainly
Starting point is 00:04:14 and it's debuted at number six if somebody said to me hey i'm gonna give you millions but only in the single digits i'd still probably take that but what if you had to spend 70 million to get that oh then that's a waste of time isn't it good point yeah so yeah that yeah number six though it debuted number six behind like movies that have been out already like let's be cops from last week sure yeah which you know is apparently a very average comedy but guardians is back on top good so that's good yeah ninja turtles i've since encountered some people who do not enjoy guardians of the galaxy but it's just people That's fine fair enough
Starting point is 00:04:46 I mean sub-humans Obviously That's alright People who are Sad in their hearts Is it like Are they like It's the same plot
Starting point is 00:04:52 As the other ones It's not that funny Nah they're just like It's kind of dumb Okay yeah fair enough Can't really argue with that Yeah Cool
Starting point is 00:04:58 So there you go Mason We will not be seeing A Sin City 3 I would say Yeah absolutely not Unless Direct a video Yeah Motion comic Motion comic we will not be seeing a Sin City 3 I would say yeah absolutely not unless direct a video yeah
Starting point is 00:05:07 motion comic motion comic I'm betting on motion comic sure actually yeah yeah yeah all the voices by the one guy speaking of
Starting point is 00:05:14 including the girls yes speaking of things that tank I didn't actually include this in mine tanks this week we're talking about our favourite tanks we're counting them down
Starting point is 00:05:22 Panzer tank any tank with any kind of camo paint. Abrams tank. Fish tank. J.J. Abrams tank. His own personal tank. James Cameron's tank. He would have a tank.
Starting point is 00:05:34 He would have a tank. Probably an underwater tank. Yeah, definitely. But he'd have one. Yeah, yeah. But, you know, the Expendables 3 tanked as well. It didn't do very...
Starting point is 00:05:42 Well, it did better than this. Right. But the studios have put it down to the fact that it leaked, because, you know, it leaked like three weeks earlier. Oh, yeah. But those downloads are so low that it's behind, like, Captain America and Spider-Man. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:05:55 I read that. It's not even... It was on Uproxx. Yeah, it's not even the most pirated movie. Yeah. So that's disappointing. You couldn't hit the top of the box office. You couldn't hit the top of the pirated downloads list.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Of movies that people have already seen and have made lots of money already. So that's disappointing. You couldn't hit the top of the box office. You couldn't hit the top of the pirated downloads list. Of movies that people have already seen and have made lots of money already. So that goes to show that movie's not... Either it's not very good or people aren't as interested in it. It's not compelling. People have not seen a trailer and thought, I need another of these in my life. Exactly. Yeah. Very good.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Well done. Well said. Moving on, Mason. Yes. Bond news. Okay. Now, we talked about this before the show briefly. They want to bring in an iconic henchman like Jaws, the shark.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Not the shark, the man. The man, yes. Odd job. Odd, yes. Knick-knack. Kick-foo. No, diamond face. I was going to say, we haven't had an iconic henchman since diamond face, have we?
Starting point is 00:06:44 Was there a knick-knack? Yeah, knick-knack was Urbe Villachez. Yeah, the man with the golden gun. Absolutely. He would always be bringing a little bottle of champagne into the man with the golden gun, and the man with the golden gun would just shoot it out of his hands. What a jerk. What a jerk, exactly.
Starting point is 00:06:59 And wasn't he then stuffed into a suitcase at the end? He was stuffed into a suitcase, yeah. Presumably suffocated to death. To death, yeah. What a way to go. Yeah. But, so they're looking for someone called Hinks. H-I-N-X.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Is that how you pronounce that? I don't like the idea. What? Hinks. Is he related? He or she? Is he or she related to Jinx? Have to be.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Some, that's, what? No, that's, this is what I've got here. I have to be over 6'2", between 30 and 45. Possibly, possibly like very unlike unusual looking and possibly with a sports background because you need to do a lot of stunts and driving apparently this this henchman if we sit on each other's shoulders and wear a big trench coat we're above six foot two we are we certainly are so yeah i'm happy to see another henchman that you notice they're slowly putting back in other like old Bond tropes
Starting point is 00:07:45 yes I am yeah like Q I feel Skyfall was very good no but I felt
Starting point is 00:07:52 they lent on that very hard yeah yeah like oh we've got to have a Q and we've got to have a yeah
Starting point is 00:07:56 bring back the old Aston Martin with the machine guns in it that's it exactly there's a point here's a point
Starting point is 00:08:01 of contention for you sure okay it's Casino Royale was the reboot. Yes. Right?
Starting point is 00:08:06 And in Casino Royale, he wins an Aston Martin. Yes. Like he wins the DB5, the classic James Bond one in a poker game. Against Blood Eye. Yeah. No, no. Against the other guy. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Yeah, yeah. At like this beach casino thing, right? Yeah, I remember. And does he flip it? That's the big one. Does he flip it later? Or is that a different car that flips? No, no, he doesn't flip.
Starting point is 00:08:25 No, he flips the new Aston Martin, the DBS. Okay. The crazy expensive one. Sure, yeah, yeah. But in Skyfall, he's got the Aston Martin DB5, the classic one again. Yeah. But it's got machine guns in it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:37 When did he put the machine guns in it? Is it the same one? That is the question. Because when he talks to Q in that film, he's like, hey, how about all these gadgets? And Q's like, we don't do that anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:49 So when did he put the machine... When did he put the machine... If they're not into putting machine guns in cars and ejector seats and whatever, why does this car have machine guns
Starting point is 00:08:55 and ejector seats? Maybe it was his parents. Yeah, good point. They love just driving along the Scottish moors and just mowing people down with their machine guns. Yeah, really good point.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Well, there's two options. Yep. One is... Hang on. There's probably more than two options. There's only two. There's only two. We can edit this out if I can't think of the two options.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Sure. Right. Well, one is that it is the same car. Yeah. Right. And it belonged to, like, an MI6 agent back in the day. Like a previous one. And this bad guy killed him and took it. Yeah. So it is authentic MI6 property, and that day. Like a previous one. And this bad guy
Starting point is 00:09:25 killed him and took it. Yeah. So it is authentic MI6 property and that's why it has the wacky 1960s gear in it.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Coincidence, but sure. Yeah, coincidence. Yeah, okay. I'm willing to believe in that. Or, actually here's another option is that it is a wacky
Starting point is 00:09:39 1960s MI6 Aston Martin but it was just like an MI6 storage and he won the Aston Martin in Jamaica. Yeah. He MI6 storage and he won the Aston Martin in Jamaica and he's like
Starting point is 00:09:47 I would like to have that car and then he goes to his lawyer or whatever and his lawyer's like it's going to be kind of tricky to import
Starting point is 00:09:54 an Aston Martin from Jamaica from a guy you later murdered like that's that's legally that's going to be
Starting point is 00:10:01 quite difficult so he's like you know what I'll just look and I'll see if MI6 has one and I'll borrow it. Oh, it's got machine guns in it. It's got machine guns in it. I think that's my theory.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Okay, fair enough. Well, none of that is explained. And also, yeah. But it also lays waste to the theory. Except just now when I explained it perfectly. Sure. But also, it lays waste to the theory that James Bond is a codename. For multiple people, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Because that was a fan theory that these are all set in the same universe and when you become a double o engine and you get assigned the double o7 you become you get the name james bond right so that could have been like the actual sean connery car right yeah but of course in skyfall he goes back to his home which has got the james bond crest or whatever yeah yeah which is just a dude looking like a real smug prick right probably like standing on a dead light or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, so... And it has insert cheesy one-liner here.
Starting point is 00:10:49 That's the family motto. But also, that means that all these years, he's just been introducing himself, like, as his actual name. Yeah. That's dumb. Yeah, absolutely it is. I mean, that's always been dumb, but yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Anyway. Anyway, currently nobody cares about James Bond, so why are we talking about it? Good point. But I don't... Okay. He doesn't sound like a very iconic henchman. Okay, fair enough. Just from that description.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Just a big guy. He sounds like a tall guy. He sounds like Red Grant, the guy from Russia With Love, who's just a tough guy. Okay. Kind of a tall, tough guy. Red Grant. Red Grant. What's he about?
Starting point is 00:11:20 He's all about being real tough in the abs. Is he Russian? Yes. That makes sense. Yeah, it? Yes. That makes sense. Yeah, it's good. Okay, good. Fantastic. Well, moving on to something else that people don't care about yet.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I'm ready. Star Wars. Yep. They're looking for an iconic henchman. Wait a second. Like a shark. No. A Lucasfilm employee.
Starting point is 00:11:39 It's autocorrected here. A Lucasfilm employee has stated that they're going to redefine long-form storytelling actually that didn't auto-correct doesn't matter not the point uh-huh in the sense that they're really going to weave this story through the trilogy really really well and into multiple different medias and you know the team the rebels cartoon which is coming out which has the inquisitors which links to this and whatever whatever whatever. Basically saying that unlike the prequels, which did have a predetermined ending, they were just made up as they went along.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Because it was kind of like, there's a mysterious guy, but there's clones. Where did they come from? Don't worry about it. You've fallen in lava. Which was the plot of the prequel. So they're basically saying that, yeah, this is where we're really thinking this through.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Well, that's nice of them prequel. So they're basically saying that, yeah, this is, we're really thinking this through. Well, that's nice of them. Yes. Considering we're paying 20 bucks a ticket for this thing. Even more so than Marvel, they say, with their long form storytelling. I don't believe them for a second. Sure. Well, it's all Disney. It's all Disney.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Oh, yeah, actually, yeah. Okay, good point. But the Latina reviewers reported that the Emperor will return in Star Wars episodes seven and eight. But not nine. Spoiler alert. Well, it's a 9. Well, I've just said 7. Well, it's a rumour. Okay, sure.
Starting point is 00:12:48 So, in your face. Okay. But not with Ian McDermond. Okay. McDiamond? Diamond face. Diamond face. So, yeah, what do you think about that?
Starting point is 00:12:57 He comes back in the comics as a clone. That's right, yeah. Or the Hispanic universe as a clone. Uh-huh, yeah. But if I remember correctly, and I do, he was pitched into the center of the Death Star. Boy, was he. So is it...
Starting point is 00:13:08 Can he, like, put his consciousness into something else? Yes, his spirit. Because, you know, he went to Jedi, I presume Sith... Sith Heaven.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Let's say he went to Sith Heaven. That's where all dogs go to Heaven. Yeah. And then he could... I don't know, he could travel through the universe like that? Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Because he has the similar powers that all the Jedi did at the Ewok party just chill out wherever you want and then he then I just I think he just found
Starting point is 00:13:30 because he had like caches of clones yeah at various places and I think he just went to the closest one and entered the body and then switched over
Starting point is 00:13:36 good as any that's right so yeah remember though we've talked before about this like there's rumours of Sith ghosts in this
Starting point is 00:13:42 and then maybe he'll come back as a Sith ghost you know from Sith ghosts in this. Uh-huh, yeah. And then maybe you'll come back as a Sith ghost. Ooh. You know, from Sith Heaven or where the dogs go or whatever. Uh-huh. So yeah, that sounds fine. Doesn't it though? Lately I've been feeling more optimistic about the Star Wars
Starting point is 00:13:56 films. Okay. Yeah. Is it me berating you with Star Wars news every week? Probably that's it. It's Stockholm Syndrome ultimately. Yeah. I've learnt to love it. If not, it's bad for me. That's it. So, do you want to talk about Doctor Who now? Yeah, we run out of news.
Starting point is 00:14:10 No, I've got a couple more things, but my news later works into what we're going to talk about today. So, I'm trying to, you know... Mr. Cleverclog's over here. I'm trying to clever segue without bringing it up. Okay, great. Did I ruin it for you? It's fine.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Should I have just rolled with it? You paid that nice compliment at the start. Yeah. Where I beat some guy Who was the sun or something I beat the sun As the number one YouTube channel about suns or whatever That's right You beat a series of YouTube videos That are just a camera looking directly at the sun
Starting point is 00:14:36 If you want to blind yourself Go to this YouTube channel So yeah Doctor Who We watched it this morning didn't we? Not together We were separate But we still watched it this morning yeah not together we were separate sure but we still watched it you were in your bedroom watching it i was at the window near your bedroom
Starting point is 00:14:51 watching watching through that window so yeah what did you uh what did you think of the new doctor uh oh by the way spoilers because as we said before the show if you hate doctor who you don't care if you like doctor who you've watched it by now. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Like, we are... I would say, having watched it, you know, this morning, I'm way behind the curve. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Like, people would have, you know... Big fans of Doctor Who would have gone to England to watch it, or they would have... Well, it was leaked. It was leaked, sorry. Oh, okay, yeah. Like, a rough cut. See, people would have seen that. Which I didn't watch.
Starting point is 00:15:24 I reckon there probably would have seen that. Which I didn't watch. I reckon there probably would have been live streams of just a camera looking at somebody's TV in the UK and people would have been watching through that. Yeah, well, someone beat the information out of Peter Capoli as well. Oh, great, yeah. Just beat it right out of him. No, but actually, because it went to theatres as well. I didn't go to theatres.
Starting point is 00:15:39 That's right, yeah. But it also, because Doctor Who is kind of big-ish here in Australia. Yeah, sure, absolutely, yeah. Well, it's on, it aired the same time as it did in the UK. So it aired at like 4.50 or whatever it was. In the morning, wow. Yeah, I didn't get up for it. No.
Starting point is 00:15:53 Because I was too busy partying, Mason. Absolutely. I wasn't, I was very asleep. You were covered with just hot water bottles. Yeah. So yeah, what do you think of the new Doctor Who? I know he's not called Doctor Who, but remember we established...
Starting point is 00:16:08 We're going to call him Doctor Who. What are you going to do about it, nerds? I don't feel he was fully defined yet. I agree. Like, with, you know, even in... Maybe it was a little bit heavy-handed. In, like, the first David Tennant episode, he's like, no second chances.
Starting point is 00:16:24 That's the kind of man I am. that is the line i remember yeah from that where he kind of gives a guy a chance yeah it's kind of light-hearted and then he murders him and he's like that was your chance and you blew it so self-defense yeah it was yeah exactly it was deserved that was absolutely deserved uh-huh yeah but then you got a sense of that character and you got a sense with the matt smith one like he's kind of fun and whatever but you you've got a sense of that character. And you've got a sense with the Matt Smith one, like, he's kind of fun and whatever. He's a fun adventurer. Yeah, yeah. Okay, and he's a kid, kind of a fun kid.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Yeah. But this guy... He's old. He's old and he's sort of dithery. Yeah. And he's kind of mean. He's kind of mean. To homeless people.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Yeah, he steals a homeless man's jacket, doesn't he? That homeless man... For a watch. I mean, he's dead now, so he's been dead for hundreds of years, but... He swapped him out for a watch, which I think will come into play later, because watches have played a big part. Yeah, he's got his special watch. Yeah, yeah. Personality in it or whatever.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Yeah, yeah. Yeah. People are angry already that I said he's got a watch with his personality in it or whatever. Yeah, he's got his Doctor Who personality in it. His Doctor Who personality. Yeah, in this one, he's kind of dithery. And then, how does he... At the end of the episode, what is he as a character?
Starting point is 00:17:30 Well, he either did or didn't throw that guy out. Yeah, that's an element of mystery. I enjoy that somewhat. Sure. You could kill that guy. He's killed way less worse people than that. And he's a robot. And he's a robot, exactly.
Starting point is 00:17:43 And when he's like, you're more human than man, I mean, more man than human, he wasn't, because you could see in his brain. He had gears. He had gears and shit. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:52 You can tape as many steaks as you want to a Roomba. Still a Roomba. You know what I mean? I know. I've done it. So, yeah. Absolutely, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Look, I didn't hate it by any stretch, but, yeah, I felt he was... He wasn't bad. Like, I like Peter Capaldi. I think he did well in the episode, but I just didn't... I didn't love it. They set up a couple of mysteries. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:13 They said who, you know, who sent this invitation to everybody to get them all in the one place. Could have been a coincidence. Probably. Most likely a coincidence, yeah. Time travel. That's it. And there's this mysterious woman who is clearly... Believes she is
Starting point is 00:18:25 the doctor's girlfriend she's probably remember he's got that woman expecting me to remember anything about Doctor Who
Starting point is 00:18:32 is pretty but this isn't even from the new stuff this is from like the old stuff I don't even remember but he has like she's not the master
Starting point is 00:18:38 but she's like an equivalent to the master she's not a time lot I don't think and she hasn't showed up yet like they pretty much brought everybody back like Davros and the Daleks and the master a couple of times a timeline, I don't think. And she hasn't showed up yet. Like, they've pretty much brought everybody back, like Dab Ross and the Daleks and the
Starting point is 00:18:47 master a couple of times. Yeah, true. This woman whose name I cannot remember. And don't email him, because I don't care. Interestingly, she's age appropriate. Yeah. She's kind of an older lady now, as opposed to this older guy, yeah. That's it.
Starting point is 00:18:58 And you love his new clothes. I don't. I'm not, no. Something's missing about them. It's the button up to the top it's the button I don't care for that what about the bit
Starting point is 00:19:07 where he pulled back his jacket and he was like ooh look it's all red it was a red light yeah no yeah and I think also I think the reveal
Starting point is 00:19:13 was kind of it was a little like it was quite dark yeah I think it was didn't really show it off yeah I'd be more impressed
Starting point is 00:19:20 if there was a better reveal I'll be honest with you sure yeah fair enough apparently Jenna Louise Coleman is leaving. Like, she's in a negotiation to leave the series.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Has the entire series been filmed, or do they do it week to week? I think most of it's been filmed. There's probably a mid-season break, and they're going to continue on with it. But that's generally how they do it is. A companion sees in the new Doctor for some consistency. Then they switch them out. Then they switch them out. That's generally how it works.
Starting point is 00:19:45 But the others have sort of stuck around, right? Yeah, a few of them. Rose was there for some consistency. Then they switch them out. Then they switch them out. Okay, right. That's generally how it works. Okay, right. So, yeah. But the others have sort of stuck around, right? Yeah, a few of them, you know. Amy Pond? Rose was there for a while. Rose was there for a while. Amy Pond was there for a while. That one in the middle?
Starting point is 00:19:52 The redhead one. Not Amy Pond, though. The other one. Yes. Oh, the fuck. Donna something. Donna, yep. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:57 And the other one with the red leather jacket, whose name I can't remember. Oh, Martha? Martha, there we go. Yeah, yeah. They were all good, actually. Come to think of it. So, yeah. Yeah. But were all good, actually. Come to think of it. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:08 But they were all increasingly underused. Yeah. Have we talked about the Bechdel test? Yeah, I know, but no, we haven't talked about it. Well, the Bechdel test, for those who don't know, you can use it to judge. Not judge, but it's an interesting idea based around movies and TV series. Basically, you go, okay, is there at least two women in this show or in this movie? Do they speak to one another?
Starting point is 00:20:31 And if they do, do they speak to each other about something other than a man? Yeah. And if you pass that, then you're feminism. I guess so. Yeah, but I mean, it's not necessarily an indicator of quality. No, it's not a hard and fast. No, it's just an interesting statistic, I think. Alien, I think, passes it.
Starting point is 00:20:48 The first Alien. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And a lot of romantic comedies don't. Oh, of course not. Because it's just, you know, it's... How can I get Owen Wilson to love me again? Yeah, it's the main female protagonist. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:00 And she's got like a quirky best friend. Yeah. And they're the only two female characters in the film. And all they talk about is Gerard butler or whatever because he's the main guy you know but because somebody did uh somebody did like uh some you know research a lot of data points for doctor who recently and apparently a lot of episodes do not yeah because and i guess it's mainly because the companions recently have mostly been female. Because I guess they want to kind of...
Starting point is 00:21:26 They had Rory. Yeah, they kind of want to like some sort of romantic thing, even though it's never really real. Which they really seem to be steering away from in this new one. And so I guess whatever companion is in the show is always just going to be talking about the Doctor. Yeah. And so there's a lot of... Because his name is Doctor Who. Doctor Who, exactly.
Starting point is 00:21:46 That's the name of the show. And so there's going to be a lot of the companion talking about just about the Doctor and not about any other issues or what have you. Yeah. And so a lot of them are going to fail this test, I guess. But it does seem interesting that... Yeah. A lot of these companions do seem to be kind of one-dimensional.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Sure, that's a fair point. Yeah. Are they feisty enough, though? They're sort of feisty. anyway yeah yeah give us your thoughts on that listeners i'd like to hear about that like what do you think about what do you think about this and this is my issue a lot of the time with doctor who is the supporting characters aren't really much chop yep they're sort of sassy yeah sometimes they help out sometimes yeah usually by accident usually by accident or by sort of observing something that the Doctor immediately observes straight after that.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Yeah. And then goes, oh, that's very good that you saw that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess the point of the companions recently has been as well, they kind of have to keep him in check. Right. Because he'll just murder everybody. Oh, sure, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:40 That's been implied. Remember when he went to the centre of the Earth and murdered all those spider people? No. He did. I thought about agreeing just to move this thing along, but then I'm like, what if you made that up? Because it sounds like something you would make up. Yeah, no, he did.
Starting point is 00:22:54 So, yeah. I just felt it was very kind of like, I've seen all of this before, and it didn't bring that much new. The dinosaur was pretty good, I guess. Yeah. It was a super giant dinosaur. Yeah. No one else seemed to realise that
Starting point is 00:23:07 that was super giant because that TARDIS was really small yeah yeah and people were just down in the Thames with it just kind of like what's this
Starting point is 00:23:14 there's a dinosaur get away there's a dinosaur oh yeah so yeah and there you go great show great
Starting point is 00:23:21 B plus again I'm sort of interested but will I watch? I'll watch two more episodes probably. Yeah. Yeah. Fair enough. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:28 That's what happens every time with you, doesn't it? Definitely. Time for some feel good news, Mason. I'm ready. Dave Coulier. Oh. No. Not really.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Oh, no. Again, listeners, if you do have any interesting Dave Coulier stories for our segment, Dave Cruelier, where Dave Coulier is a dick for no reason. Yeah. We didn't get any this week, unfortunately, but yeah, police right in. FX's The Veil explores the surprising and fraught relationship between two women who play a deadly game of truth and lies on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London. One woman has a secret, the other a mission to reveal it before thousands
Starting point is 00:24:06 of lives are lost. FX's The Veil, starring Elizabeth Moss, is now streaming on Disney+. So Chris Pratt, right, who obviously is Star-Lord and worked with Marvel and whatever, whatever. He and Marvel went for the Children's Miracle Network Hospital. They set up a special screening of Guardians of the Galaxy for patients. Uh-huh. Right? So he went along to this and he went to the screening and he'd stolen his Star-Lord outfit.
Starting point is 00:24:33 So he wore it and he kind of, you know, took a lot of photos and that and whatever. And he went there. He stayed with the kids for three hours. Three hours? Yeah. Handing out toys and taking photos and signing autographs and talking with patients and he visited like some kids in other centers who who couldn't visit the
Starting point is 00:24:50 screening for whatever reason you know um slipped him a pirate dvd that's right exactly you got from southeast asia great good on him so yeah and even though he was there two-thirds of the way through doesn't matter i get the point so that's why you know he was there to represent like Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy he also spent extra time with a fan one fan in particular to talk about
Starting point is 00:25:10 the Lego movie because he's the lead in the Lego movie reciting lines from that and all that kind of stuff he's some sort of Lego kid right
Starting point is 00:25:16 yeah he's a big fan of Lego he loves it yeah yeah this guy like apparently at high school he was just kind of like this
Starting point is 00:25:22 Labrador kind of kind of human bee. Chris Pratt. Oh, sure. Yeah. He just seems like a really super nice guy. Absolutely. And that sounds really great.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Yeah. And I don't see Stallone going in and wearing his little beret from Expendables and talking to sick kids. What is wrong? He goes in there. He gives each of the kids some human growth hormone. You know? Each of them a little Expendables beret.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Tells them a story from the set of Daylight. Yep, definitely. All of those things. So yeah, I love hearing stuff like that. Me too. Good for him. What a bloody legend. I just think that...
Starting point is 00:25:54 I've said this before. I think they cast these guys on purpose. Yep. Like, who are not dicks. Right. Which is why I think when Wesley Snipes is like, I want to come back into the Marvel Universe or whatever. They won't.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Because he's a lunatic. Right. And I don't know whether he may the Marvel Universe or whatever, they won't because he's a lunatic. And I don't know whether he may be he's a nice guy or whatever, but he is a lunatic. Based solely on his character from Expendables 3, I'm going to say he's definitely a lunatic. Speaking of that, I think there's going to be a documentary coming out called Bat Kid Begins, which is about the Bat Kid, if you recall the Bat Kid. Yeah, I remember.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Has it got anything to do with the Batman Begins movie also? It's like a sidequel. Okay. So while Batman Begins is happening, Bat Kid is also... Beginnings. Yeah, definitely. Gotcha. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Now, David Yates, he directed four of the Harry Potter movies, the last four. Okay, sure. You saw all of them? No. You saw one of them? Maybe two of them? He didn't direct the one where they make Harry Potter fight a dragon. Oh, sure.
Starting point is 00:26:47 My favourite one. Where his school makes, which I think is the best one, where the school makes Harry Potter fight a dragon. That's not fair, is it? No, not at all. Absolutely. We've discussed this before. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:56 So yeah, he's going to be directing, though, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Harry Potter spin-off. It's set like decades before the Harry Potter universe. And it's based on J.K. Rowling's world of witches and wizards. And because the book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it's a textbook in the Harry Potter universe. Oh, sure, yep. So it follows the adventures
Starting point is 00:27:15 of the book's fictitious author, Newt Scarmander. So, you know, we're back. We're going to get a trilogy of Harry Potter spin-off films. And of course it's a prequel, so none of the main characters can die correct yes
Starting point is 00:27:28 great the world cannot end because we know everything's going to be fine decades later that's right yeah yeah great
Starting point is 00:27:33 maybe we'll see Dumbledore when he's younger because he's a few he's a hundred and something years plus oh I see that'd be cool and maybe they'll like
Starting point is 00:27:39 explore the fact that he is a gay man because you know that was revealed I'm aware of that post the film yeah sure so yeah it's another thing that really religious people flip out about they already hate explore the fact that he is a gay man. Because you know that was revealed post the film. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:27:48 So yeah, it's another thing that really religious people flip out about. They already hate Harry Potter, but more so. Absolutely. Can't have any of that witchcraft and wizardry. No, certainly not. Did you read that there's a fan theory recently that Harry Potter just takes place in his mind because he's mentally ill, blah, blah, blah. No.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Because it's all like, oh, you know, he's just a mentally unbalanced kid and the Dursleys are his real parents. And then they ship him off to a mental asylum and that's Harry Potter, which would explain him fighting a dragon. Because what responsible school administration would make a kid fight a dragon? Exactly. Yeah. We said the equivalent thing, didn't we, to that.
Starting point is 00:28:24 So go back and look at whatever episode that was um i was gonna say something else about that there's also another theory fan theory that neville longbottom was initially chosen was actually the chosen one that was cut out like that didn't happen in the end but that would have been way more interesting if harry potter was just this decoy yeah absolutely so that neville longbottom could kind of get his shit together because he ends up turning out to be Neville Logbottom could kind of get his shit together. Uh-huh. Because he ends up
Starting point is 00:28:46 turning out to be a hero and whatever. Like, he's kind of this goof. Right. And then he ends up being this, like, he kills the snake and whatever at the end. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:28:53 I thought that would've been really cool. Because the prophecy only went to Harry Potter. Yes. Because Voldemort killed his parents first or something. Right, right. So it could've been either of them.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Sure. And it would've been a great fake-out if they were like, Harry Potter's actually not special. Yeah. You know. I mean, he's alright. So it could have been either of them. Sure. And it would have been a great fake out if they were like, Harry Potter's actually not special. Yeah. You know. I mean, he's alright. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:09 He's a pretty nice guy. Well, that's true. I mean, because one of the issues I have with the Harry Potter films, that's not a sentence I'd ever thought I'd say out loud, but is that, especially in that first one,
Starting point is 00:29:18 Harry Potter wins. Because he's Harry Potter. Because he's Harry Potter. Yeah. Like, this guy's about to kill him and he's like, oh God, because you're all the magic
Starting point is 00:29:24 and you've got this amazing magical defence because you're Harry Potter. Yeah. Like, this guy's about to kill him and he's like, oh God, because you're all the magic and you've got this amazing magical defense because you're Harry Potter. Yeah. Like, Harry Potter, he doesn't do anything. He doesn't win because he works the hardest or he, you know, tries his best. That's it. He doesn't do drugs. He wins that first movie as well because he's got that really smart friend, Hermione Granger. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:41 And Ron happens to be really good at chess. Sure. And so they get past the whatever and they go into the lair and Voldemort's in there on the back of a guy's hand or whatever
Starting point is 00:29:49 so it would have been you're right it would have been an excellent sort of twist to be like you know he's a good enough guy but
Starting point is 00:29:56 yeah he wasn't the chosen one after all yeah yeah you know psych haha so that's
Starting point is 00:30:01 because again I haven't seen the last movie so yeah yeah that's not what happens then. No. Great. Spoiler alert.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Thanks. For you. Thanks, buddy. Okay. Just quickly on the Batman v Superman set. Yes. We saw Superman's new suit. Yep.
Starting point is 00:30:16 What do you think? A little brighter. A little brighter. A little bit more yellow in the S. Comic book-y. More comic book-y. Yeah. Yep.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Okay. I feel like as well they did post-brighten up the last one just a fraction. So I remember seeing some on-set stuff and it wasn't very yellow at all. But then you see the final product. And it was all yellow. In Man of Steel he had an entirely yellow suit, yeah. He sure did. So yeah, it's definitely more comic book-y and he's got the slick back hair and whatever.
Starting point is 00:30:41 But what people are really talking about, Mason, is Scoot... Green socks. Exactly. Green socks. Scoot Mason, is Scoot McNary. Green socks. Exactly. Green socks, Scoot McNary. Scoot McNary. First of all, they're saying, why is there a man called Scoot McNary? Question number one.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Is that an assumed name? No, that's a good question. His first name's Scoot. I'd say you wouldn't change it to that. I think that's just his name. You think that's not for showbiz? No. Scoot McNary.
Starting point is 00:31:02 No, I don't think so. Are you looking it up? Yes. But in the meantime, whilst you look it up No. Scoot. Nah, I don't think so. You looking it up? Yes. But in the meantime, whilst you look it up, old Scootle McGarry. Old Scootles. Yeah, he turned up on set wearing green socks from the knees down. Right. And they're green.
Starting point is 00:31:13 He's not just wearing... It wouldn't be news if he was just wearing green socks. I've been known to wear green socks. He's wearing green screen. Yeah. And they're up to his knee socks. So, a few things. It could be like he's got metal legs,
Starting point is 00:31:27 like he's a Metallo kind of guy. People are more leaning towards that he's the Flash. He's Barry Allen or one incarnation of the Flash. How do you run, though, with just your lower legs? That's weird. Yeah, I don't know. I guess if he runs normally and then they CGI his bottom legs with lightning
Starting point is 00:31:44 and stuff like that, maybe? Yeah, okay. But you could just probably do that around here. Okay, he's John Marcus Scoot McCanary. Okay. Scoot is a nickname. Should I look up why his nickname is Scoot? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Just leave it. No, please. Okay, fine. All right. Let's continue talking. Okay, options. He could be... Okay, he could be the bloody...
Starting point is 00:32:02 That guy we're talking about. The Flash? Yeah, the Flash. He could be that guy. He could be that guy. He could be the bloody, that guy we're talking about. The Flash? Yeah, the Flash. He could be that guy. He could be that guy. He could be Metallo. Yeah, yeah. Could be Superman.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Could be Justice League. No. I'm giving you time to look it up. Oh, right, you're filling. Okay, great. That was excellent filling. Great. Okay, hang on.
Starting point is 00:32:18 And he's wearing just regular office work clothes. Yeah. He's wearing just a shirt and tie. Which Barry Allen or the Flash or whatever could wear. Yeah, okay, yeah. Because he's a cop. Yeah, totally. Or a forensic whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Here's an option. His legs got cut off. Yeah? Yeah. Sure. Yeah, right. Well, here's one theory, and I had not thought of this, but it's totally... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:38 There's a character in the 90s Batman, and his name was Legs, right? He doesn't have any legs. Right? He's like a Vietnam vet, and he's lost his legs. And there was a character called Anarchy who was in the Arkham City game. Okay, cool. And he was like sort of one of his, like Anarchy's henchmen are sort of like street people and homeless people who's gathered to, you know, fight the man or whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Sure. It's definitely not that. It can't be. No, no. That's very obscure. Yeah, that's very, yeah. Okay. Not the case. Yeah, yeah. Totally. So it's not that. No. What's your money on? I'd say it's definitely not that. It can't be. No, no, that's very obscure. Yeah, that's very, yeah, okay. Not the case.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Yeah, yeah, totally. So it's not that. No. What's your money on? I'd say it's probably The Flash. Yeah, it's probably The Flash. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 00:33:11 But also, whatever. Yeah, totally, yeah. If it's something else, that's fine. Or it's a guy who is just walking along and Superman flies real low and cuts his legs off. That is, considering the last film, that's kind of likely. Yeah. When you think about it. It's definitely at his wheelhouse.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Yeah, definitely. That kind of antics. Like casualties. Yes, casualties, yeah. Anything on that name? Oh, Scoot. Hang on. Early life.
Starting point is 00:33:36 His father began calling him Scooter when he was about two years old. A lot of people are like, oh, it must be some amazing story, but it's because I used to scoot around on my butt. Maybe his legs. Maybe that's what he's going to do in this. Legs in a little cart.
Starting point is 00:33:48 So maybe that's it. Great. Well, we've all learned something today, haven't we? We sure have, Mason. Yeah. Well, that leads us into our topic for this week. Scooting around on our butts. Yes, please.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Top 10 characters who scoot around on their butts. Number one. Silver Surfer, when he's sitting on the surfboard with his butt. Ghost rider. Sitting on a motorcycle in his butt. On his butt. Yeah. So he's got a text.
Starting point is 00:34:13 Ah, Jesus. It's fine. All right. I'm going to put that away. Yep. Because it sounds professional. I'm going to take my phone out and check social media. What are you going to do?
Starting point is 00:34:20 I'm not going to stop you. Facebook message, whatever. I'll leave it till later. Don't you have it connected to your iPad? Yes. Just showing off that I have two devices you son of a bitch yep
Starting point is 00:34:27 you rich prick I know right okay so yeah that leads us into the topic for this week we've had a lot of requests to do another episode on cancelled
Starting point is 00:34:33 comic book movies uh huh right we did number one I don't know about 15 episodes back or whatever uh huh
Starting point is 00:34:39 and people really seem to enjoy it sure we explored justice we're going to break that streak right now yes we are we're going to give you
Starting point is 00:34:44 so many cancelled comic book movies you'll be like, stop it. Why? Stop talking about anything. I hate you. What did we cover last time?
Starting point is 00:34:53 Justice League Mortal. Yep. Superman Flyby. Which I did the video on this week. Yep, cool. Which I enjoy. And what was the other one?
Starting point is 00:35:00 Magneto Origins. Origins, yeah. Okay, cool. We're only going to do two this week though, aren't we? Yes. I've researched one and you've said you've researched one.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Correct. Or I'm going to wing it off the top of my head. Who's to say? You don't know. I don't care. It's all good. As long as we fill the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:13 And again, we haven't told each other what we're going to do, so if we both come up with the same one. Yeah. Disaster. It's all over. Let's say them at the same time. Let's not. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:22 All right. Do you want me to go first? Because mine ties into Batman v Superman yeah batman v superman uh-huh there uh they were batman loves superman so batman versus superman yeah was a script that was floating around from 2002 uh-huh so this isn't the first time they've attempted to bring those two iconic characters together on the big screen on the bigger screen you can imagine a cinema screen. I can imagine a screen bigger than that. Okay, good point.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Now, it was going to be helmed by Wolfgang Peterson. Are you familiar with him? Is he a crazy producer? He's a director. He's German. Yep. So, probably crazy. Sure.
Starting point is 00:35:59 He directed Air Force One, The Perfect Storm. Both of those are movies, aren't they? Both of those are movies with the weather interacting with a big object. So I guess that's... Something happened in Air Force One. Probably. There would have been turbulence. There would have been turbulence, right?
Starting point is 00:36:13 Sure, there was. Yeah, yeah. And the only thing I really remember about The Perfect Storm was there was a big wave at the end. And you're like, are they going to make it? Right. And they don't make it. Oh.
Starting point is 00:36:24 And that was based on a true story. They don't know whether that wave thing is true. It's probably not. But yeah. There's no such thing as waves. No, certainly not. And the other one he did was Troy of Note. You remember Troy?
Starting point is 00:36:35 Sure, yeah. That nothing movie from 2003 or whatever. Yeah, okay, yeah. It's one of the only movies where Sean Bean doesn't die in. So, you know, that's pretty exciting. Does he die in Ronin? He does. I can't remember. Probably. Yeah, yeah. It's a good film. I haven't seen that. Huh. You know, that's pretty exciting. Does he die in Ronan? He does. I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Probably. Yeah, yeah. It's a good film. I haven't seen that in ages. It's really good. Isn't that good bit where they're in the tunnel or whatever? Yeah, there's a sweet car chase. Yeah, I love a sweet car chase.
Starting point is 00:36:54 But okay, so the story of this, right, it starts up with Bruce Wayne. He's been retired for five years. They love their retired Batman or the old Batman in these movies, don't they? Oh, he's just useless. Just launched straight into it. I guess they were trying to do anything to distance this
Starting point is 00:37:09 from Batman and Robin. Uh-huh. Which there was actually going to be a sequel to was called, I can't even remember, but it had the Scarecrow. It was Batman in something.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Batman at the Farm. Batman, yes. So, yeah. So, five years after he's retired, Dick Grayson's dead, Alfred's dead, Commissioner Gordon's dead, the Joker's dead. Great. So, all the greats. All the greats, sure, yeah. Are dead.
Starting point is 00:37:35 All the interesting characters are dead. Yeah, yeah. Let's bring in some terrible new characters that we don't care about. Wow, you're in luck. So, basically, the idea, he then, he was getting too close to killing people, so he decided to retire. So he's reined it in. Now, at the same time, Clark Kent, right,
Starting point is 00:37:51 he's not doing so well either. He was married to Lois Lane, and now he's divorced. He's got worms, so he's always scooting around on his butt. Scoot McCanary style, but they're space worms. Can't get rid of them.
Starting point is 00:38:05 And the reason that they're divorced is that Lois Lane says that she can't handle these hectic kind of superhero lifestyle, so she bails. She Christian bails. Yeah, okay, right. On the man who's indestructible. Yes. Look, I can't handle the fact that you can't be harmed in any way. Yeah, yeah. Because it's movie Superman, so it's like...
Starting point is 00:38:21 That's it, exactly. I can't handle the way that if anything bad were to happened to me or our loved ones or our potential children, you could fly around the earth in reverse time and they'd be fine again. I just can't deal with that, man. That's how she talks. That's how she talks. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Also, the scene that introduces Clark Kent, he's in the office and he's typing away on his typewriter and a guy comes up and he's like... Wait, super fast typing or regular typing? I don't know. Just regular probably. Yeah, probably. Because he's people around. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Totally. You know? Yeah, yeah. And then a guy comes up and he's like, hey, typing or regular typing I don't know just regular probably because he's people around yeah yeah you know and then a guy comes up and he's like hey Clark we're going for a beer you interested and he's like I can't I've got work or whatever
Starting point is 00:38:51 or he's got to be Superman or whatever and the guy calls him a dickhead under his breath like this is in the script so I saw the script summary and I'm like I'm going to look that up
Starting point is 00:38:59 because that can't be true that is true that is a line in this movie so there you go now Batman though like I said his life is starting to get better. He's found a new love of his life. Famous comic book character, Elizabeth Miller.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Not a character. Correct. Not a character at all. Don't. Why? I don't understand. Well, because if you're going to... You have to do a lot of character development real fast to make a comic book fan care about a new character
Starting point is 00:39:25 in a comic book movie. Well, that's it. Well, you'll see what the purpose for this woman serves is to be killed. Yeah, okay. So she's a plot device. Fantastic. I was going to save that for the next sentence I was going to say. I know.
Starting point is 00:39:36 But that's a little, you know, a little taste of what's to come. I'm ready. So they get married. Clark's the best man, right? That happens. And then on their honeymoon, she gets stung by a toy bee, which injects her with Joker toxin and she dies. But the Joker's
Starting point is 00:39:49 dead. He just said he was dead. What happened? Well, that's it. That's it, Mason. So then he decides he's going to Batman up again to find out what's going on. So he goes down to his cave or whatever and he's devastated as he always is.
Starting point is 00:40:05 That's kind of the default emotion for Batman. I was just over being devastated and now I'm devastated again. So he goes down, he boots up the Batcomputer as well and a holographic sentient Alfred appears. Okay. So that's going to be his new Alfred, I guess, which is carried over, I assume, from Batman and Robin
Starting point is 00:40:23 where there's also a sentient computer Alfred. Do you remember that? Not really. Alicia Silverstone goes into the cave and he's like, I'm a computer version of Alfred. Here's the bat costume. Get out there. Do you have any training? I don't care.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Doesn't matter. Yeah. Use this grappling hook and swing from a really tall building. What do I care? I'm a computer. I don't understand life. What is this earth thing you call kissing you know all the great all that yeah yeah all the tropes yep so then uh clark comes down he
Starting point is 00:40:52 tries to talk out of um he's like listen i'm gonna find whoever did this i'm gonna kill them and so clark's like don't do it man be cool be like me superman who never kills be like me right but bruce is like you're an alien you don't understand you're not like me, Superman, who never kills. Be like me, right? But Bruce is like, you're an alien. You don't understand. You're not like me, man. Get the fuck out, basically, right? You dickhead. Everyone calls you a dickhead behind your back.
Starting point is 00:41:14 I know you can hear it because those bloody ears are yours. You prick. Yeah. I've been paying people to come around and call you a dickhead. I've had heaps of people employed at the Daily Planet just come around and call you a dickhead. It's cost me millions of dollars. I don't care. Worth it.
Starting point is 00:41:30 So Clark then goes to Smallville for some alone time. Sure. Strikes up a kind of relationship with Lana Lang. Okay. Like in Superman 3. Yep, sure. These are all connected, you know. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Same universe. Also, there's no new ideas in Hollywood. That's right. Except for Elizabeth Miller. Amazing supporting character. Love interest. Also, should I no new ideas in Hollywood. That's right. Except for Elizabeth Miller. Amazing supporting character. Love interest. Also, should I point out that Elizabeth Miller is like the perfect woman. Some would even say too perfect, Mason.
Starting point is 00:41:53 Oh. Some would just say she's pretty good. Yeah, great. So short. Sounds real good. Anyway, Batman has a run in with the Joker and he's too henchman. But he's dead. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:03 You said he was dead. What happened? I continue. the Joker and his two henchmen. But he's dead. You said he was dead. What happened? I continue. So the Joker beats down Batman for whatever reason using... Probably a zappy joy buzzer. Joker punches. He's like, I'm sorry I killed your wife. How about we shake on it?
Starting point is 00:42:19 Batman's all full of honour. He's like, all right. Sure. He's five years out as well. Yeah, that's true. He's a little rusty. Well, and he's like, alright. Sure. He's five years out as well. Yeah, that's true. He's a little rusty. Oh, maybe he's changed. So yeah,
Starting point is 00:42:28 before he can kill Batman though, which he's sort of about sometimes, sometimes he's not, depends on the version, his henchmen stop him. Right? So maybe that comes into play later.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Maybe it doesn't. It does. Okay, sure. Okay. After this, that actually happens after Batman's gone to visit the Toy Man.
Starting point is 00:42:44 You know, he was all about making toys? Yeah, I remember the Toy Man. Because he... Made the Joker be. Made the robot be. Yeah. He made the robot be. And that involves a scene where Batman puts the Toy Man's hand in a vice and crushes all
Starting point is 00:42:57 of his bones in his hand. Ooh. Which is a very Superman 2 kind of move. Yeah. Do you remember? It all ties in. It does. It definitely ties in, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:43:03 Yeah. So yeah, around this time then, Bruce Bruce goes steal some kryptonite from a government facility for some reason, assuming in the preparation, because he knows the movie is called Batman versus Superman. Absolutely, yeah. So he's ready. Yeah, yeah. And then they have one more chat where Bruce and Clark meet, and Bruce is like, listen,
Starting point is 00:43:20 I'm definitely going to kill the Joker. And Superman's like, I definitely have to stop you. Even though that's uncharacteristic for me to do such a thing. So yeah. You'd think if you were clever and canny like Batman, you'd say, hey Superman, I'm not going to kill the Joker. I'm going to just be cool for a while. Yeah, you would. Just do whatever.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Maybe leave Earth for a while. Yeah. Because I'll take care of all the other crime except killing the Joker. You've earned a break. You've had a tough run. Go into space, dude. You dickhead. You dickhead.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Meanwhile, it's revealed that Lex Luthor, who was in prison, has figured out that Batman is Bruce Wayne. Like, he figured that out years prior because Because he had recordings of both their voices. And was like, they sound exactly the same. Sure. I mean, that's a new idea. Because I don't think anybody somehow has ever figured that out before. I mean, I guess it's hard to get a voice recording of Batman.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Sure. You know. But hey. So there you go. And it's revealed that he has cloned the Joker. So there's clones in this. He didn't think there was going to be. In order to get Batman to come out of retirement and then kill Superman for him. Right. Elaborate enough?
Starting point is 00:44:31 Pretty elaborate. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So it's an interesting setup. So anyway... You can always clone Superman. Yeah. Have that clone of Superman.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Attack Superman. And hope for the best. But I guess I'm an idiot. You are an idiot. Yeah. That's also why the Joker was stopped from killing Batman.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Right. Because they... Because he wants... Okay, he wants Batman to kill Superman. Yeah. Okay, right. Because he's not gonna do it
Starting point is 00:44:57 for whatever reason. Right. But spoiler alert, he tries anyway later. Yeah. Okay. Also, if this Joker's so good at killing superheroes,
Starting point is 00:45:04 just let him kill Batman and then have him get him... Then clone him heaps of times and have him take a crack at Superman. Yeah, Okay. Also, if this Joker's so good at killing superheroes, just let him kill Batman and then have him get him, then clone him heaps of times and have him take a crack at Superman. Yeah, yeah. He's really easy. There's a scene earlier where Superman stops a terrorist who is the Joker. Uh-huh. And then the people are going to turn on, but they can't because he's wearing a mask. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:45:17 People are going to turn on, people are turning on this terrorist and Superman flies away with him to save him. Uh-huh. And then he gets like kryptonite gassed in the face and the Joker drops into a river or whatever. And he can't find him because apparently Superman doesn't have all of his powers in this version. Oh, but he got Kryptonite to the face, so fair point. I do love any superhero piece of fiction
Starting point is 00:45:39 where the superhero forgets what powers they have. Yeah, sure. Like, sure, I've had these since I was born or since I was, you know, 15 years old, whatever yeah yeah i didn't know i had x-ray vision yeah that's it that's why martian manhunter is such a quite you know he's he's got so many powers the only way he can lose a battle is just to forget that he can walk through walls or whatever or somebody lights him on fire oh yeah that would work too yeah yeah he doesn't like that does he not at all i mean most people don don't. He's a real priss about it.
Starting point is 00:46:07 He's a real sissy pants about being set on fire. Just go with it, man. That's fine. That's it. Now, this is where the fight starts. Okay. Do you want me to break it down for you? Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Do you want me to? Wait, what if they actually make a movie about this? I don't want to be spoiled. Let's stop talking about it. No, continue. It's fine. I didn't know what to do then. I had a little panic, but I'm okay. So basically, the Joker sets up the meeting time for the Batman-Joker showdown.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Sure. But Superman, of course, turns up first. Batman, though, he's ready for this, because he didn't tell Superman that he wasn't going to kill him. Yeah. Like you said, he should have. And he's got a kryptonite-laced armor. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:46:40 So, you know, that's great. It is great, yeah. Yeah. So anyway, the fight is full on. I've written that here. It's real full on. Yeah, you know, that's great. It is great, yeah. Yeah. So anyway, the fight is full on. I've written that here. It's real full on. Yeah, yeah. Both sides fight like mad dogs.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So they're pretty evenly matched. Like Superman tries to burn off the armor, but he can't because he's hit with like missiles from the bat wing. Sure, uh-huh. Which is bearing down on him. Then they punch for a bit. Yep, punching, good. Yep.
Starting point is 00:47:03 And then Superman's hit with the bat plane, right? Uh-huh. He's kind of knocked back. Right. A they punch for a bit. Yep, punching, good. Yep, and then Superman's hit with the Batplane, right? Uh-huh. He's kind of knocked back a distance. Uh-huh. And then he uses his freeze breath, which he probably should have done earlier on. Sure. Which blows Batman about a quarter of a mile away. And I've got here, he is somehow not killed.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Shoot, absolutely, yeah. Definitely, yeah. Then they punch for a bit. Okay, sure. And then Superman flies up to kind of get away, to kind of get his bearings. Yeah, yeah. Then they punch for a bit. Okay, sure. And then Superman flies up to kind of get away, to kind of get his bearings. Yeah, yeah. And Batman grapple guns him. Now, it doesn't say in the script, but I think he grappled gunned him on the balls.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Because I think that's what would happen, right? Yep. Batman then climbs up, and as they're kind of tangling or whatever, they fall, and Superman goes to save Batman, but then Batman kicks him in the chest to get away and then grapples and swings away. Then they punch for a bit. Sure. Superman then beats him with a parking sign and freeze breathes his armor, shattering it. Should have done that earlier.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Yes, definitely. He then flies into space to kind of get some sun to heal up a bit, work on his tan. Yep. And then Batman hits him with a kryptonite arrow and he's down. Presumably in his balls. Yes. His one weak spot. Batman goes off then and he...
Starting point is 00:48:19 He goes right off. He goes right off. No, he leaves him. He's like, he's done. He's probably going to die. You would assume that, I guess. Yeah. And then he goes and he just beats up the joker quite quite a bit uh-huh they punch for a bit they punch for a bit mostly batman doing the punching that's it and then the joker reveals that he created this perfect woman this wife for bruce to fall
Starting point is 00:48:38 in love with and then to kill her and to manufacture this entire situation which was also manufactured by le Luthor. Right, okay. So there's middle management and there's upper management. Absolutely, definitely, yeah. So yeah, like any good plan and organization. Then... So much paperwork.
Starting point is 00:48:54 As... Yeah, that's it. As Bruce is all like, oh no, I've been devastated. I've been devastated again. My truths. Yeah. Yeah. My love.
Starting point is 00:49:04 I just got over my... Anyway. The Joker's about to kill him, right? Then Superman somehow... This day's been a real bummer. The Joker shows up. The Joker's about to kill him, sorry. And just as that happens, Superman shows up all battered.
Starting point is 00:49:18 And he hits the Joker in the gut with like a piece of concrete. And then the Joker sets his two super powered thugs which were in it earlier which I didn't know if I mentioned they were super powered they are and
Starting point is 00:49:30 Superman and Batman then fight back to back like buddies sure and also during this fight Batman says shit wow
Starting point is 00:49:39 so crossed the line anyway they always say Batman doesn't cross the line but he's crossed the line this time, hasn't he?
Starting point is 00:49:45 So anyway, they win with heat vision and whatever and then Batman is about to kill the Joker and Superman, which is a real return
Starting point is 00:49:52 to form for him, is like, bloody do it! Kill him! Or whatever. And then, you know, because that's Superman
Starting point is 00:49:58 we know and love and then, but Batman decides not to do it at the last minute. So yeah, there you go. It's not over yet though, Kali.
Starting point is 00:50:08 This is a very long fight scene. Oh boy, is it. Well, you get your money's worth, you know? Yeah. Anyway, this is the point where Lex Luthor shows up in a power armor. I'm back on board. I'm back up. He goes, I knew you wouldn't have the guts, Batman.
Starting point is 00:50:20 That's why I'm here. I'm the villain. I wrote that dialogue. Great. So yeah. Then they punch for a bit. They all punch for a bit some punching yeah and then they tumble off a balcony Batman is saved by Superman and then as Lex explodes in his suit but his body is again inexplicably not found even by Superman who can find everything sure so there you, there you go. Then, at the end, Superman and Batman shake hands,
Starting point is 00:50:48 and in the script it actually says, a friendship renewed. Ooh. Then, Batman asks Superman if he wants to go get a beer, and Superman asks if they can get a soda, and they kind of have a bit of a laugh or whatever, and then they walk off, arm in arm. Batman doesn't drink.
Starting point is 00:51:01 No, he doesn't. That's, wow, they've really let themselves down. Look, I was on board with all the punching for a bit. I was off board for a while. I was back on board with Lex Luthor and the Power Armor. Yep. I'm out again. They should both go get a club soda,
Starting point is 00:51:14 because that's what they both drink. Well, yeah, that's it. Well, that's what Superman says. Let's get a soda. Yeah. But Batman wouldn't drink a soft drink, would he? No, maybe sparkling water? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Sparkling water. Sure, there you go. Now, they've got some casting for this, which we've sort of talked about before, because it was all around the same time as Superman, Flyby, which we have talked about before. Christian Bale, he was being sought after for Batman. Yep.
Starting point is 00:51:37 So, you know, early 2000s Christian Bale. Okay. Hopefully he wouldn't have done that voice, but I think it would have been interesting to see a Christian Bale in a kind of more comic book-y kind of Batman. Yes, definitely. See how that would have gone.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Because I think he looks the part. He looks like a Bruce Wayne-y kind of guy. His Batman voice is obviously not great. Maybe it would work, though, in a silly comic book context. Sure. Like, if you make everything else ridiculous, you put him in a kryptonite suit and have him do the voice. That's actually quite good.
Starting point is 00:52:04 But then when you think about it, Lex Luthor couldn't have matched suit and have him do the voice. That's actually quite good. But then when you think about it, Lex Luthor couldn't have matched the voice if he did the voice. Yeah, okay, good point. You're right. I've done it. And as we said, Josh Hartnett, he was also being courted for Superman. Okay, yeah. Which I think would have been okay.
Starting point is 00:52:17 When we talked about it, he was going to have a $100 million deal for three movies and it didn't come through or whatever and he dropped out And whatever whatever Yeah So this was basically cancelled So they could then focus On solo films
Starting point is 00:52:31 Peterson He left to do Troy That really good movie Sure That we all remember Yeah And Bryan Singer And Peterson
Starting point is 00:52:38 Were also talking about That you know Maybe they'd like to come back At one point And do this kind of Or a kind of take on this So yeah There you go Also this movie Sorry No it's alright Maybe they'd like to come back at one point and do this kind of take on this. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:46 There you go. Also, this movie was... Sorry. No, it's alright. Instead, we got Superman Resents. That's it. And it was also alluded to in Iron Legend that this was something that was coming. Because you see the Superman Batman banner. And that movie has the best CGI vampires, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:53:03 Yes. Yes. Yeah. Great. Do you want to see that movie that the best CGI vampires, doesn't it? Yes. Yes. Yeah. Great. Do you want to see that movie that I just described? Do I? It's, it's not, it's, it's got some interesting elements. Yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 00:53:14 Yeah, yeah. It's not as insane as some of the other Superman versions that we've heard. Like it's more, it's not totally in character, but it's more in character with Superman than say Superman Flyby or that Tim Burton one or I would have liked to see given the choice
Starting point is 00:53:31 of all those I would want to see the probably the Tim Burton one yeah because it sounds insane because it's mental yeah exactly well that documentary
Starting point is 00:53:38 is coming out soon as well which I'm really really looking forward to and it would have a wacky it had that wacky Tim Burton take on the Superman suit yeah that with sparkly suit that with sparkly, it had that wacky Tim Burton take on the Superman suit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:45 With sparkly suit. With sparkly suit. Because I really like the Tim Burton Batman suit. Doesn't look at all like the comic book one of the time. Yeah. Really worked. I don't think this one would have, the Superman suit would have worked,
Starting point is 00:53:55 but I would have liked to see it. Absolutely. But I can't wait till that documentary comes out. They've actually, because they've got a whole lot of unseen footage and concept art that, you know, that hasn't been released yet. So I'm really looking forward to that.
Starting point is 00:54:07 And we'll talk about that more when that's released. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, look, I would have been okay with this. I'm more kind of excited to see what they're going to do with this latest version. Because like early 2000s kind of Superman-y, Batman-y CGI and armor designs and flying and all that kind of stuff. And big metal suits. Yeah, boy. Not as good.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Big bulbous helmets. Yeah. That's what I would look forward to the most. Yeah. Hey, we're talking about... This isn't the one I picked this week. Sure. But actually, just as a side note, because we're looking up this.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Did you hear... Have you heard about this one? Just talk about it briefly. Because it sounds... I've not heard of any other... Batman Triumphant. That was going to be the sequel to Batman and Robin, so go on. Ah, okay, right, there you go.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Well, this one... This sounds like a pitch that the internet has made up. Okay. Okay, so from 1983... It's my favourite kind of pitch. Bill Murray and Ivan Reitman's The Batman. Yeah, I've heard that. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:54:59 I've not really seen any other sources for this. No, sorry, I haven't heard the Ivan Reitman thing. I've heard that Bill Murray was in contention. Yeah, so this is 1983. Yeah. It very much sounds like... Because, you know, everybody on the internet loves Bill Murray now.
Starting point is 00:55:12 Sure. And all that sort of stuff. So it's basically... It was going to be written by the guy who did Superman the movie. Yeah. Right, so, you know, I'm largely indifferent.
Starting point is 00:55:21 But it's basically... Some of the elements have later... By accident, obviously, because... You know, coincidence, whatever. It's a little Arkham City. Okay. Like, it's gonna...
Starting point is 00:55:33 There's a corrupt politician called Rupert Thorne, who's been blackmailed to turn the city against Batman. And then it all turns out that it's gonna be, you know, Hugo Strange who going to be behind the whole thing and blah blah blah and basically they you know
Starting point is 00:55:50 to reveal Batman's identity and what have you and they eventually decided to replace Hugo Strange with the Joker played by David Bowie
Starting point is 00:55:57 that would have been amazing I know right see that's why it sounds like it sounds too good to be true it sounds like a pitch made by the internet like this year that would have
Starting point is 00:56:06 been so 80s there's a picture of there's yeah that's real good that's pretty good yeah yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:56:13 but anyway they did a lot of rewrites on it and I think like years past in the directing it went to Tim Burton
Starting point is 00:56:19 yeah so there's no chance we're going to see that Bill Murray David Bowie Batman it's a little late we might see it as like a like a Jim Jarmo short film or whatever.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Okay. Where we just go into a diner and Bill Murray's dressed as Batman. He's just hanging out. And David Bowie's the... Oh, wow. I would definitely see that. Yes. Like, it's black and white.
Starting point is 00:56:38 It's just a diner. We go in and it's just Bill Murray as Batman. Just a cloth suit. Yeah, just like the Adam West suit. Yep. And he's kind of old and fat and whatever. And then David Bowie as the Joker who's looking amazing for it
Starting point is 00:56:51 even though he's a million years old. And they're just having a conversation. And they're smoking for some reason. Yes. That'd be really good, right? I'm on board with that. So you don't want Batman to drink a beer but you're okay with Bill Murray Batman smoking.
Starting point is 00:57:03 Yes. It works, it's the universe. Yeah, absolutely. I understand that. Yeah, yeah. Fantastic. So It's the universe. Yeah, absolutely. I understand that. Yeah, yeah. Fantastic. So that's the one that you looked up for this week.
Starting point is 00:57:08 That is not the one that I looked up for this week. That's a show. Here's one I would have really liked to see. Okay. Not because it was good. I'm all about that.
Starting point is 00:57:16 Dazzler the movie. What? Dazzler. Well, Dazzler was created to be a movie character. Okay. What's Dazzler about? Well, Dazzler is a mutant.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Yep. Right? She was originally going to be So... What's Dazzler about? Well, Dazzler is a mutant. Yep. Right? She was originally going to be called the Disco Dazzler because it was the late 70s, early 80s. Yep. And disco was way on the way out at that point. So they're like, well, let's take advantage of this. Now's a good time to tell us anything.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Yeah, she's a mutant and her ability is she can absorb sound and then use it to create light. Okay. She transduces sound into light, which makes sense, right? What? So what she does is she surrounds herself with disco music. Yeah. And then she uses it to create like energy beams and holograms and...
Starting point is 00:57:53 Are you talking like she could blast someone with energy beams or just light? Yeah, like lasers and stuff. Okay. She could use a laser or what have you. That's actually an interesting-ish kind of power. Yeah, it's kind of interesting. I mean, it doesn't make sense. Yeah, and it's wrapped up in kind of...
Starting point is 00:58:06 She's like a disco... She's like a disco dancer, disco singer kind of musician. Does she have roller skates? Yes, I was going to mention roller skates. She's got roller skates. Yay! This is from the era where everybody had bloody roller skates. She has, like, roller skates she could magnetically attach to her boots.
Starting point is 00:58:22 With sound. Iron Man did. Yeah, exactly. So, basically, Dazzler was created this was this was gonna be the first like we were talking earlier about how disney and uh star wars are gonna really integrate all the you know the plot and they're gonna integrate it over multiple media and whatever yeah this was really sort of really the first attempt at doing that because basically basically, the character was created and sort of like, yeah, we'll get to that character at some point.
Starting point is 00:58:48 Who created her? Marvel. I mean, what? Tom DeFalco. Oh, Jim Shooter, maybe. You know, I haven't written it down. Doesn't matter. Somebody.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Somebody. Somebody back in the day. It was probably Jim Shooter or Tom DeFalco or somebody like that. Anyway, then they sort of like, yeah, we'll use that character. It's a disco character. That's fine. Whatever. And then they were approached by Casablanca Records, which is a big record company at
Starting point is 00:59:08 the time, who had a lot of people on it, like Kiss and some other people. All the good ones. All the good ones. All the great ones. Oh, boy. I told you I don't like Kiss. No, that makes sense. I'm not going to go into it.
Starting point is 00:59:18 Yeah, Gene Simmons has said some very weird things recently. Like, he's always been a dick. He's really ramped it up lately. Boy, hasn't he? Yeah. And they were like, okay, what we want to do is we want to create...
Starting point is 00:59:31 You can make this... We'll take this Dazzler character and we will make a movie about her and we will get like an actual musical artist to release an album, like a Dazzler album. Did this spin off into Xanadu or something?
Starting point is 00:59:45 It sounds like it would, but I think they're unrelated. Is she an X-Man? Yes. Sometimes. Okay, gotcha. Yeah, intermittently she's an X-Man. And they're like, okay, we'll release them all at the same time. We'll release the comic book and the movie and this album,
Starting point is 00:59:58 and it's going to be the greatest thing anyone's ever seen. So much cross-promotion. Yeah. So they basically, they created, hang on, who wrote it? But essentially, the script was written in four days for this movie.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Yeah, so she'd be portrayed by like a studio musician on the album, you know. So good. Yeah, and so anyway,
Starting point is 01:00:16 they were like, we'll make her debut in this feature length film and we'll get all the labels and other artists to be in it. Okay, sure. You got some names?
Starting point is 01:00:24 Okay, well, Robin Williams was going to be the romantic lead. Okay. Who's artists to be in it. Okay, sure. So... You got some names? Okay. Well, Robin Williams was going to be the romantic lead. Okay. Who's going to be in that? Who else? We got Roddy Dangerfield was going to be in it. Yes. As Lord Chaos.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Principal villain. So that's good, right? They should have called him Principal Villain. I know, right? Oh. Yeah, okay, great. Gets no respect, that guy. They were going to have Cher and Donna Summer as like rival disco artists.
Starting point is 01:00:50 This would not have worked. That's why I want to see it. Because it so badly would not... Cher could act, though. Yeah, I guess so. Yeah. Right, so Dazzler Spider-Man's going to be in this film. And the Avengers, they were going to put them all in.
Starting point is 01:01:01 They're going to debut all these characters in there. They get thrown into a dystopian future of New York. This is amazing! There was going to be some great disaster and they got shunted in. Civilization has come down to two feudal states, Upper Hatton and Lower Hatton. So that's happened. Respectably governed by the Queen of Fire and the Witch Queen, who I think was Cher and Donna Summer.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Okay, that makes sense. Okay, here's an action sequence. The pitch is like 17 pages. who I think were Cher and Donna Summer. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah. Okay, okay. Here's an action sequence. Here's a little... Please. Okay, the pitch is like 17 pages. I think you can find... If you go to Jim Shooter's website, he's put it out there.
Starting point is 01:01:32 He's like, this is what we were going to do in the 80s. If anyone wants to pick this up. Yeah, absolutely. It's right. Copyright Jim Shooter. So there's some sort of gathering. Suddenly the gathering is attacked from two sides.
Starting point is 01:01:41 From the north come fiery garb unicorn mounted warriors and spearmen in chariots made from old VWs. From the south come the same dark lizard mounted warriors who are after Tristan before Tristan does. It's irrelevant who he is. But this time with reinforcements. They have lizard drawn battle wagons made from old
Starting point is 01:01:58 dats and pickup trucks. How good's that? So it's Disco. There's this Disco mutant. We've got Spider-Man, all the Avengers. There's a weird automotiveco. There's this Disco mutant. We've got Spider-Man, all the Avengers. There's a weird automotive battle. There's this automotive Thunderdome battle pre-Thunderdome, so that's pretty good. And there's Disco.
Starting point is 01:02:12 Robert Williams and Rodney Dangerfield are in the future. Oh, the Queens have two teams of magical enforcers. Kiss, the village people. Great. That's amazing. Oh, actually, and also, here's a little tidbit. Kiss The Village People Great That's amazing Oh actually And also Here's a little tidbit
Starting point is 01:02:26 Kiss had their own comic In like the 70s The Marvel comic And they all had Their own superpowers They have those superpowers In these films Fantastic
Starting point is 01:02:35 So Gene Simmons Can breathe fire Yep Paul Stanley Who's a star child Can shoot like Laser beams Out of his star eyes
Starting point is 01:02:42 Space Ace Ace Frehley Can teleport Peter Criss Who's the cat Has cat like agility Can shoot laser beams out of his star eyes. Space Ace, Ace Frehley, can teleport. Peter Criss, who's the cat, has cat-like agility. So that's pretty good, right? Okay, hang on a minute. I don't know what... Is this set in the real world, as in that Kiss are a popular band in this movie?
Starting point is 01:02:57 Yeah, I think so. Okay, so everybody is a superhero and a musician. Yes. But this is the post-apocalyptic future, though. Where there's... So maybe they've developed the powers in response musician. Yes. But this is the post-apocalyptic future, though. Where there's... So maybe they've developed the powers in response to stressful situations. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Now, I hadn't looked at this, but it's written here. Do you want to village people's powers? Why do I? Okay. Motorcycle cop, energy nightstick. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Right. Construction worker, earthquake jackhammer. Cowboy. That's not a power. Whatever. He's got a... Okay. These guys are more gimmicks. Okay. I got jackhammer Cowboy That's not a power Whatever He's got a Okay these guys
Starting point is 01:03:26 These guys are more gimmicks Okay gotcha Cowboy Unbreakable lasso That he controls As if it were alive That's Yeah alright
Starting point is 01:03:35 The Indian Tomahawk that cuts Through anything Yep good Yep also Racist Was that guy Actually Indian
Starting point is 01:03:42 I don't think so Sorry Native American Unlikely. Does it say Indian on that page? It says the Indian, but you could say that in the 80s. Okay. Oh, yeah, good point.
Starting point is 01:03:49 The GI. Oh, there's more village people than I thought. There you go. Side arm that fires mystic fiery laser blasts. Could have just had a gun. I was going to say, just have a gun. Just have a gun. Have a pretty good gun.
Starting point is 01:04:02 And our last member, who is super strong and wields an unbreakable chain the leather man that's his cat that was the character's name in the village people the leather man the leather man yeah that's fantastic there he is there's a picture of the leather man yeah he's very yeah there's a lot of leather there he um a lot of those seem to be taken sort of from other superheroes like the lasso is like a kind of a wonder Woman knockoff. The chain is like a Ghost Rider kind of thing. Yeah. Uh-huh. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:29 I mean, the gun is taken from just... You can just have a gun. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that's great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All that is amazing. What else happens in this? Okay, Dazzler doesn't really do much.
Starting point is 01:04:39 There's a big fight. Even though the movie's called Dazzler. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rodney Dangerfield's behind it. She turns the noise of the battle into a disco light show that calms everyone down. So that's pretty great. And then Cher and Donna Summer combine their magical powers and they send them back to the present day. And then blah-biddy-blah.
Starting point is 01:04:57 Yeah. That's pretty amazing. Yeah. So that's pretty great, isn't it? So Spider-Man and that, are they in the present day as well as the future? Or are they just in the future? I think they were in the present day, then they were teleported to the future. Oh, they were all teleported.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Yeah, they were all teleported to the future. It wasn't just Dazzler and whatever. No, no. It was everybody at once. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Give me one second. I'm just going to figure out how this all fell apart. Please.
Starting point is 01:05:18 Yeah. I mean... I mean, probably because it was an incredible nightmare to do this whole thing. Just the coordination of all those different elements. Yep. I mean, imagine doing that now, but let alone then. Like, you have to get the... Like, if one of those elements falls down...
Starting point is 01:05:32 Well, they kind of did. It was called Spice World the movie. But whatever. But, you know, if one of those elements falls down, say if the music is terrible, the whole thing falls apart. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? If the action sequences are terrible, the whole thing falls apart. Like, it's... Oh, God. Yeah is terrible the whole thing falls apart like it's oh god yeah very ambitious though i give it that
Starting point is 01:05:49 definitely yeah so i think essentially the reason it fell apart is that there was so because there was there were so many cooks involved yeah that just everybody wanted their own input on what this character like originally the character is going to look like Grace Jones. Okay. And they're like, actually we can't, she's not interested or whatever, because we need to have, if we want a Grace Jones character, we should just get Grace Jones. Sure. And she wasn't interested or whatever. And we've fulfilled our multicultural requirements. Yes, exactly.
Starting point is 01:06:16 With the Indians. With the Indians, precisely. And so, and then they're actually like, actually, we want her to look more like Bo Derek. You know, he was a very popular model at the time. So, we'll get Bo Derek. And so, the character had to be redesigned. And then I think Bo Derek's husband at the time was a film director. And she's like, well, I want to be in on this.
Starting point is 01:06:33 And you have to get my husband to direct it. Yeah. And then people were like, whatever. And then there were so many design changes and whatever that I think eventually the record company backed out. Because they're like, we don't want to deal with this. No. We want to just... We can just sell records. Yeah, exactly. Like, we don't want to deal with this no we want to just we can just sell records yeah exactly like we don't need for a while yeah for a few for a couple more decades and then that's right exactly yeah and hopefully we're invincible
Starting point is 01:06:53 yeah nothing will ever stop that and then look then it just all fell to pieces yeah not with a bang but with a whimper sorry guys that's a shame but that's yeah that would have been the oh i don't even know i mean That would have been, I don't even know. I mean, it would have been amazing, right? Yeah. So anyway, so basically Marvel had this incredibly, this character with this huge amount of hype behind it. Yeah. But no, like, movie or no record deal.
Starting point is 01:07:19 And they're just like, we'll just launch it anyway. Sure. Did it right for a while. Yeah. But it sounds like a combination of Xanadu. Yep. Flash Gordon. Uh-huh. And Howl of the Duck. Sure. Did it right for a while. Yeah. But it sounds like a combination of Xanadu, Flash Gordon, and Howl of the Duck. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:29 That's what that sounds like to me. And all of those movies don't work on their own. But together... Oh boy. They also don't work. Yes, exactly. Wow, that is amazing.
Starting point is 01:07:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were definitely not going to pick the same thing this week. Not at all. Anything else? No, that'll do it. That's pretty amazing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were definitely not going to pick the same thing this week. Not at all. Anything else? No, that'll do it. That's pretty amazing.
Starting point is 01:07:48 Yeah, that's good. You would want to, I would want to see that, right? Absolutely. Absolutely, yeah. I mean, not now. Don't make it now. I want to see the version
Starting point is 01:07:54 from that time period. Exactly, thank you. That's what I want to see. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Man, Dangerfield. Yep. What a bloody legend. All right, all right.
Starting point is 01:08:03 Yep. So, just a few like I said we'll come back and we'll do another one of these at another point we'll both do some research and then we'll do another one
Starting point is 01:08:12 I'm gonna do Dazzler again sounds really good I just wanna do some quick shoutouts Mason ok I love it unless you got anything else nah that'll do it cool cool
Starting point is 01:08:21 so basically we got some bandcamp donations this week Kyle Sturzman donated $25 wow thanks buddy cash and by cash I mean you got anything else? Nah, that'll do it. Cool, cool. So basically, we got some band camp donations this week. Kyle Sturzman donated $25. Wow, thanks buddy. Cash. And by cash, I mean PayPal.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Oh, right. Jonathan Perez, he's the official brainiac. He gave us $35. What? He sent us this message as well. Hey guys, love the podcast.
Starting point is 01:08:38 Keep up the good work. I know this contribution will go a long way to keeping your decadent lifestyles going. So live it up. Absolutely. Boy will it. So really appreciate that. Absolutely. Boy, will it.
Starting point is 01:08:45 So I really appreciate that. That's fantastic. And Jonathan Boozer, the Booze, you know what he's about. He actually donated us $55. What? Yeah, yeah. And he sent a really nice email with it as well. So basically, he's had some unfortunate events happen in his family.
Starting point is 01:09:00 Like recently, people were fighting off cancer and there's family members that have died and it's kind of been a bit of a rough time at the moment and he's kind of been the one that the kind of the pillar
Starting point is 01:09:10 the rock yeah exactly he's been the Dwayne Johnson of his family absolutely yeah so yeah kind of handsome
Starting point is 01:09:15 tough giant giant good actor nice guy by all accounts yeah and he's just kind of
Starting point is 01:09:22 yeah bearing the brunt of all of this which is a tough position to be in because there's always these situations there's that one person that has just kind of yeah bearing the brunt of all of this which is a tough position to be in because there's always these situations there's that one person
Starting point is 01:09:28 that has to kind of keep it together and it's tough being that person absolutely I'm not that person no but yeah that's you know it's not ideal
Starting point is 01:09:36 and basically he said look you keep doing what you're doing but most importantly please know that what you're doing isn't pointless or nonsense and I truly hope
Starting point is 01:09:43 that you guys keep this podcast going for a while so that's really really nice booze you're the best buddy yeah or nonsense. And I truly hope that you guys keep this podcast going for a while. So that's really, really nice. Booze, you're the best, buddy. So yeah, good luck with all that, mate. That sucks. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:50 And I hope, you know, for however long this goes for every week, that's not the worst time for you. Yeah, absolutely. That's the most we can hope for, for most people, I think. That's it. He's always been like a really vocal supporter of the show, though, the booze. So yeah i really appreciate it um have you got a what we reading for this week i do know what we're in actually before we
Starting point is 01:10:09 get to that sure um i just found some stuff that i thought was fun uh you have a we have a video about uh do we need a how the duck movie yeah and i watched i watched that because i was in that yes but i went to the comments and i know they say don't read the comments but it's do we need another Howard the Duck movie? And one of the comments says we don't need any movies at all. It's pretty good, right?
Starting point is 01:10:34 Thank you Brickbuster2552. It's pretty good. Hang on. I got a comment from Twitter that I enjoyed. This is based on another of your videos. Hang on. Where is it?
Starting point is 01:10:45 He's right, isn't he? What are you thinking about? Well, yeah, we don't really. There's enough movies. There's enough movies. We don't need... All we need is water and food and shelter, right?
Starting point is 01:10:54 And Dazzler. And Dazzler. Thank you. Hang on. I can do this. Okay. So you wrote... You did a video
Starting point is 01:11:00 on five ways Batman could beat Superman that aren't kryptonite. Yeah. Listener friend of the show Manos Torgo said, Batman could use Green Arrow's help to get Superman addicted to heroin. I think that's great.
Starting point is 01:11:10 That is great. Absolutely. He'd have a massive, you know, a super habit. Yeah, he would. Green Arrow's great at getting people addicted to drugs. He loves it. So, yeah, he'd have a massive intergalactic habit. He'd have to become some sort of intergalactic sex worker to pay for it all.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Which do you think is Green Arrow better at? The arrows or getting people addicted to heroin? He's just great at both, isn't he? Yeah. Apples and oranges. Apples and oranges.
Starting point is 01:11:37 That's exactly it. That's pretty great. But to be fair, he doesn't really get bad guys hooked on heroin much, does he? No, just his mates. What a dick. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:47 What are we reading for this, though, Mason? Oh, absolutely. Let me just put in the theme song. Okay. No, I'll do the real one. The real one? You put a real one in? You put it in now?
Starting point is 01:11:58 I'll put it in. Great. I'm doing the theme. What are we reading today? Okay, what we're reading this week. I've been reading, well, two things, three things. First of all, I've been reading Seconds, a graphic novel, which is by Brian Liam Alley, who created Scott Pilgrim. I was going to say, that art looks very Scott Pilgrim-y.
Starting point is 01:12:22 Because it's the guy who did Scott Pilgrim. Now I understand. And it's interesting. Okay. It's quite similar. Define interesting. Oh, no. The word.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Okay. Well, it's quite similar to Scott Pilgrim in that it's sort of like slice of life, relationships, that sort of thing. But it's got a weird supernatural twist to it. Great. Like supernatural. Yes, exactly. And Scott Pilgrim. Yes.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Sorry, go on. Sorry, I'll stop. It's Like Supernatural. Yes, exactly. And Scott Pilgrim. Yes. Sorry, go on. Sorry, I'll stop. It's about a woman named Katie, right? And she works in a restaurant that she also lives above. It's a successful restaurant and she's opening her own. She looks like Sonic the Hedgehog's wife. She is also Sonic the Hedgehog's wife. Twist.
Starting point is 01:12:59 He's going to get sued because he didn't pay for that license. But basically, you know, she's having some relationship difficulties and difficulties at work and stuff like that. And she discovers in a drawer that she doesn't use like a magic mushroom. And she eats the mushroom and she writes on a notepad like a mistake she's made. And then she goes to sleep when she wakes up
Starting point is 01:13:21 that that mistake has been erased. And she's got a second chance at it and it's sort of is it a time thing yeah kind of it's a time and reality thing okay yeah and it's uh yeah and it's kind of the she's trying to live her life but she's also discovered she has the ability to do this and it's sort of her life unraveling in kind of a dramatic way and it's interesting so there are like ramifications, yeah....using magic pencils or whatever. It's very supernaturally ingrained. Yeah, it's a...
Starting point is 01:13:48 It's a pretty good read. It's a solid read. Is it over? Is it finished? Yeah, it's just the one thing. It was a one-shot. Like, three issues or whatever, whatever. Just the one issue.
Starting point is 01:13:56 Oh, really? It's a graphic novel, yeah. Okay, wow. Well, I'm going to check that out. What's it called? Seconds. Seconds. Yes.
Starting point is 01:14:02 And I had another one, because I... Like the unit of time measurement. Correct. Okay, good. I'm on a bloody roll. Did you ever read Black Hole?s. Yes. And I had another one because I... Like the unit of time measurement. Correct. Okay, good. I'm on a bloody roll. Did you ever read Black Hole? No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:09 So Charles Burns is this writer and illustrator, and he created sort of through the mid-90s to like 2005, he had this 12-issue series called Black Hole, and it was about... It was this black and white sort of indie comic, and it was about this American town where there's this weird disease
Starting point is 01:14:31 that's sexually transmitted and it gives people these horrific mutations and it's like about this group of kids and they've all you know, they've all got this disease and they've all got these weird mutations like tails or bugged out eyes
Starting point is 01:14:46 or like wings or whatever and you know they have to shy away from their community and you know it's their lives and it's sort of a metaphor for like adolescence and like being alienated and stuff like that and it's a really good read you can get it as just like
Starting point is 01:15:00 it was collected as a graphic novel in a couple of years ago maybe 2009, 2010. Did you say it was from the mid-80s? Mid-90s. Mid-90s, okay. Yeah, so it was like mid-90s. It was 12 issues and it took about 10 years to come out.
Starting point is 01:15:11 Okay, wow. But it's a super good read. It's more about adolescence and growing up and how teenagers feel different and all that sort of stuff. And what does it mean? Yes, exactly. What does it mean? What's it all about, you know? But it turns out, I didn't know this,
Starting point is 01:15:25 like a couple of years ago, he released two issues of this new trilogy. It's called X'd Out. The first one's called X'd Out. And the second one is called The Hive. And it's weird and trippy. Same universe.
Starting point is 01:15:41 Different universe. And it's, how can I describe it? And again, it's about like this... It's like a guy living his life. Yeah. I'm going to start again. Give me a second. It's really hard to describe.
Starting point is 01:15:55 It's sort of... It's broken into two bits. One half is this guy, like this young guy living his life, having a string of bad relationships and kind of, you know, there's drugs and there's rock and roll and there's, you know, he's trying to be this performance, he is part of, and he's, and he's going through this incredibly, uh, yeah, it's, it's really hard to describe.
Starting point is 01:16:30 Yeah, yeah. It's this weird surreal world, and it's, it's like this weird, this, this weird biological horror world, where he's sort of this Tintin-like character.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Okay, oh yeah, I see that, yeah. And it's, it's really bizarre, but it's worth a, it's worth a read,
Starting point is 01:16:42 I think. Okay. First one's called X'd Out, second one's called The Hive. Yeah. They're sort of stand-alone, they're part of a trilogy, and the third one's coming out in September. Alright, cool.
Starting point is 01:16:50 So I'm kind of looking forward to where it goes. So we can all know what happens. Yes, yeah, yeah. Is it hard to follow? Not really, it's certainly hard to describe, as I've just explored. Those things don't go head-in-hand, though, always. Not at all, yeah. Okay, great.
Starting point is 01:17:02 What are you reading this week? Well, I started Batman Assault on Arkham. Yep. The animated thing, but I had to turn it off. I watched that. Oh, you watched the whole thing? Yep. What did you think?
Starting point is 01:17:11 Did you turn it off in disgust? No, no, I turned it off because I had stuff to do. I had videos to make and whatever. I enjoyed it a lot. That was also the week we watched The Expendables and I enjoyed it a lot more. Oh, you watched it that week? Yeah. Oh, okay, cool.
Starting point is 01:17:21 We probably should have talked about that one. Nah, don't worry about it. Nah. Do it next week. Yeah, yeah. Watch it next week. So would you recommend that just week? Yeah. Okay, cool. We probably should have talked about that one. Nah, don't worry about it. Nah. Do it next week. Yeah, yeah. Watch it next week. So would you recommend that just quickly? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:27 It's, I wouldn't, I wouldn't say. You wouldn't marry it. No, I wouldn't marry it, certainly. But I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers, you know what I mean? No, but it's, I wouldn't immediately peg it as being part of the Arkham universe. Yeah. But it's got enough, like it it's a good, solid universe. Is there a lot of Batman in it?
Starting point is 01:17:49 More towards the end. Yeah. It is more about the villains initially. Yeah, yeah. Because that's where I'm kind of at, where the villains kind of assemble. Yeah, there's definitely more Batman towards the end. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:58 It's Kevin Conroy, yeah? It is Kevin Conroy. There's a couple of recurring characters. It's Troy Baker as the Joker, so it's not Mark Hamill. It must be set between arkham uh couldn't be after the last arkham city i think it's set after arkham asylum yeah because yeah that makes sense just shortly after so before i can say yeah yeah and troy baker does a good kind of joker so there's some of the
Starting point is 01:18:19 yeah and there's there's some little elements like you know at one point batman leaps on the back of like a big giant monster character and he swings him around, like the game mechanic. But it's not too... And at one point he gets out like the... Oh, so actually it has to be... Yeah, it must be set after Arkham Origins, because he's got the electrocution he loves.
Starting point is 01:18:38 Yeah, yeah. So there's enough in it to be like, oh, I see that ties to the universe, but they don't beat you over the head with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like there's not... You don't beat you over the head with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, there's not... You don't see him doing the exact game mechanics, because that would be ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:18:49 But it's quite good, and the characters are... Serviceable. No, the characters are quite good. Like, I enjoyed all the characters in it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Redeeming qualities in some of the villains? Yes.
Starting point is 01:18:59 Very good. Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm all about. Yeah, yeah. So that's what I'm going to read this week. Love it. Okay, good. Read the Wikipedia synopsis. Great. No, I will read it. Yeah, yeah. So that's what I'm going to read this week. Love it. Okay, good.
Starting point is 01:19:06 Read the Wikipedia synopsis. Great. No, I will read it. I wanted to recommend a couple of things just quickly. Josh Lewis, as I mentioned, he's a guy who reviews on YouTube. I think a lot of YouTube reviewers aren't very good, obviously, because there's a billion of them, including me. But he's definitely better than I am. He's less shouty, which is always good.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Probably because he's Canadian, I think, so that's probably got's probably got something with that just a real kind of chill dude but he's like he's got really good opinions and he's got like three and a half thousand subscribers or whatever he's one of my favorite reviewers and if you're like i don't know like an even-handed kind of reviews without that in your face kind of shouty youtube kind of i kind of like in your face yeah no i don't which i know i kind of do but then i he's good and I think he's going to be like a very successful... Star of the future. Star of the future. Yeah, we're all going to be working for him in a couple of years.
Starting point is 01:19:52 That's it. Yep. Somehow. Working in the YouTube mines. Just mining out money virtual gold. That's it. The other thing I wanted to recommend is a podcast called The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:20:04 He's a guy from College Humor. Sure. the podcast is great in itself like he interviews a whole lot of different people from different walks of life like he had balkan skull on from the power rangers tv show and he had a guy a few weeks ago who was an expert on like pens he's got like the number one pen website and podcast in the world or whatever and a whole lot of like pop culture stuff or whatever but anyway what highly. But he recommended a movie on that show called The One I Love. It's this drama sort of comedy, semi-sci-fi, sort of not really sci-fi relationship movie about a couple who go to this retreat
Starting point is 01:20:38 to kind of fix their marriage just on their own. Yep. Sounds like couples retreat. It is. Without spoiling it, it's got an interesting premise that doesn't exactly tie together at the end. Like there's some things that aren't left answered.
Starting point is 01:20:53 But if you like that kind of... What was that one about time travel? About time? No, not that one. That's a good one. Back to the Future. Back to the Future 2, yeah. No, with Audrey Plaza is in it.
Starting point is 01:21:04 Oh, Safety Not Guarante oh um Safety Not Guaranteed Safety Not Guaranteed it's sort of like that okay I enjoyed that mostly because of that Duplass guy sure okay right
Starting point is 01:21:11 it's that kind of kind of vibe it's a Mark Duplass film no it's not I mean he's in it but he's not the director alright I wouldn't say
Starting point is 01:21:17 I wouldn't say like definitely go out and see it but if you kind of like that kind of left of centre kind of comedy drama kind of stuff I do
Starting point is 01:21:24 quirky whimsical whimsical then it's kind of like that kind of left of center kind of comedy drama kind of stuff. I do. Quirky. Yeah. Whimsical. Whimsical. Then it's kind of interesting and it's, it's an interesting look at relationships and whatnot. So yeah,
Starting point is 01:21:34 it's not very comic booky, but that's what I watched this week. So this week we've recommended a lot of stuff. It's all about relationships. So yeah, pretty cool. I've just got that. Well, I've got, I had a few letters this week.
Starting point is 01:21:46 I was supposed to do the band camp thing after the, what we're reading, but. Too late. Life is. Yeah. Full of surprises. This is a letter from Ryan. Hey, Ryan. So this is the last letter and then we're going to get out of here.
Starting point is 01:21:57 Okay. And party. I mean, you know, go to bed. Like I'll edit this and then I'll go to bed. Great. Oh, my party. Don't tell me what to do. Hey guys. I just wanted to write in and say, thanks for'll go to bed. Great. Oh, my party. Don't tell me what to do. Hey, guys.
Starting point is 01:22:06 I just wanted to write in and say thanks for doing a great show. I was in a pretty bad train accident and lost my right foot this past October. Jesus. Pretty messed up, eh? When I was in hospital, I would always make sure to have somebody download your podcast for me and play it every Monday when it came out here in the States. It was really great to get away from the struggles. Cheaper than anesthetic.
Starting point is 01:22:24 Am I right? Have a big snooze. No, sorry. Continue. It was a really... So it was a great getaway from the struggles of real life. I finally got the balls to write him because I felt like I needed it. Thank you guys.
Starting point is 01:22:35 They're helping me out in a weird podcast-y type of way. We appreciate that. Absolutely, yeah. But you don't have to thank us because we're not the real heroes, are we, Mason? No. No. No, Superman's a real hero real heroes, are we, Mason? No. No. No, Superman's a real hero. No, that's not true.
Starting point is 01:22:48 No, the people that looked after you, I would assume. Sure. Yeah. I mean, maybe. We don't know. Yeah. From the doctors to the people who brought in the podcast. In many ways, the people who brought in our podcast are the villains.
Starting point is 01:22:58 Absolutely. Yeah, so. So, yeah. But, no, thank you for listening. I mean, that's cool that, you know, that was part of your life at that kind of, you know, very like difficult time or whatever. But he said that since then he wears a prosthetic.
Starting point is 01:23:12 So because of that, he wants to be the official death lock of the podcast. Love it. Taken. Taken. Absolutely. No, someone else has taken it. Really?
Starting point is 01:23:19 No, not really. Okay. That's a relief. Also, I found this trivia survey on sporkle.com. It's a game site about the most published Marvel on sporkle.com it's a game site about the most published Marvel and DC comic characters
Starting point is 01:23:27 I feel that Nick Mason might be able to get 100 I got 75 I'd like to try that out okay if you don't mind right now
