Welcome back everybody to another episode of the weekly planet
where we talk movies and comics and TV shows.
My name is James.
What the hell?
It's enthusiasm.
Okay.
I cracked open a big can of enthusiasm.
Okay.
Or Mr. Sunday with his eyes is Dick Mason.
Sorry to be here.
Did you know I cracked open a big can of enthusiasm to be here?
Yeah.
I don't think you should do that.
All right.
Noted for next week.
You don't know that.
There are any votes in.
There's votes.
There's no votes one way or another.
I put the vote out before this came out.
And the votes are in.
And...
They don't like it.
All right then.
The votes are in.
The people have spoken and unlike you, I'm a man of the people and I do what the people
want.
So now you've got to die.
Bang!
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
Bang, bang.
They voted in the Planet Broadcasting Great Mate's Facebook group.
I said, what's a fun surprise I could do to Mr Sunday movies?
And they said, shoot him dead with a gun.
They said that.
Did they?
Yeah, and I'm a man of the people, so I have to do it.
I don't like this.
Well, too bad you dead.
Well, I guess I am.
Yep.
You're part of the law.
law, you're dead. I'm so dead that I can
still review the next Spider-Bad. Yeah, you still
have to go to work. We live in a society, James. You might be
dead for multiple gunshot wounds, but you still got to go to work. Damn, man, that sucks for me.
That's right. That's right. For real.
Folks, that was just a little play. We just used our imagination.
Look, we just having fun, all right? We just have fun.
Don't try any of that at home. Don't shoot your podcast co-hosts.
To be clear, I did fire a gun, but I missed deliberately every single time.
So, yeah, as mentioned, we are going to talk about Spider-Man
brand new day, there are time codes below.
Rob Collings, who edits this, you make sure of it.
There'll be a non-spoiler section and a big spoiler section,
the time codes of which may be slightly muddled by inserted ads,
possibly for McDonald's.
AIs and having a bigger McDonald's.
Yeah, how much...
Having a Ronald McDonald's, as I call it.
If you get the McDonald's ad, that's because you've had too many big McDonald's
and the internet knows that.
You think, oh, why do I keep getting these ads for McDonald's?
Because you keep Googling McDonald's.
You keep Googling yummy McDonald's.
I love McDonald's.
That's right.
So much.
You pervert.
That's why you keep getting ads for McDonald's.
I've never even had once.
Not us.
I was listening to a podcast from Friends of the Show.
Must be nice.
I won't say their name, but.
Now, it was shut up a second.
It was the Sandspence.
Oh, yeah.
And the ads were for the mining industry.
Did they record them?
No, they were just the random inserted ads.
Yeah, we got those.
It was the mining industry and I think it was gambling.
Great.
Yeah.
Which is, because I keep Googling.
yummy gambling in a yummy mining industry.
Yum, yum. Yum. Yum. Yes, please.
How can we do more mining in this country, but I don't get any of that money?
That's right. That's what I say.
You always ask you.
GROC, how do I not get any money from mining, I say?
GROC, undress mining for me.
That's right. Mining, just to be clear.
Yes.
But it will do the other thing.
Speaking of, we've got to be talking about Jared Aletto.
Ugh.
Yeah.
I mean, because we talked about it before, it's like, oh, should we talk about this?
I guess it's an update to his career.
that may or may not be over.
But speaking of cancelled,
then we've got a whole bunch of cancelled stuff.
Ah, including one thing that had been renewed, for sure.
Yes.
There's a season two of this coming.
You are, of course, talking about...
Wonder Man.
One Dermann.
Yes, more like one season man.
That's right.
It's one season man.
We're going to do Blade.
We're going to talk about booster gold,
and we're going to talk about Fast and Furious 11.
Is that cancelled?
No, not quite, but there are some problems.
Then we've got trailers.
It would be funny, that would be funny, though.
It would be funny if they all died at the end of it.
the last one and they just never came back and they never did another one.
They had to do a short film on the Blu-ray or whatever.
When it goes to Criterion, they made a special one scene, one room.
Can you imagine?
We're alive, actually.
Can you imagine Vin Diesel going?
Now let's get in our cars that are off-screen.
We couldn't afford any cars.
Brum, brum, brum, brum.
Yeah.
Bang, bang, bang, etc.
Et, etc.
Yeah.
Do you think Vin Diesel in the Criterion collection would just pick his movies?
Yeah, maybe.
He would definitely pick movies.
Because some people when they go to the criterion closet, they pick random stuff.
Some people will, you immediately notice the pattern that they are picking people that they have a relationship with.
It's like, I work with this person and they directed this movie, which makes sense.
Because sometimes it's like...
Nepotism.
It is nepotism.
But this is my son's movie.
Hollywood accountant.
Hello, I'm Daniel Day Lewis and here's my son's movie that I was in.
I'm unretired for this movie.
And we put it in the criterion closet.
I think everybody said it was bad, I think.
Maybe.
I haven't saying it.
Yeah.
You like trailers?
Yeah.
We've got two.
One for...
I'm tingling.
Taylor's trailers.
Thank you.
One for Jumanji, Open World, and then the Thomas Crown Affair.
Yes.
And then some Spider-Man casting.
Oh.
Some rumors that couldn't come soon as...
Tom Holland?
As Spider-Man?
Do you think so?
Yep.
And Tom Holland is Uncle Ben.
Who is Uncle Ben?
We don't know yet.
I'm just saying it's...
Tobin McGuire?
Adam Scott.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
And he's a deadbeat.
He's still alive.
He didn't die.
Well, yeah.
He's just a deadbeat.
Isn't...
He just ran off.
Isn't what my son told me this.
I don't know whether it's true.
But at the end of...
His son tells lies.
Because he learned from you.
No, he doesn't.
He doesn't learn anything from me.
Spider-Man friendly Spider-Man.
At the end of that, Uncle Ben, is revealed to be in jail?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I was aware of that.
Yeah, there you go.
Well, spoilers to that show.
A couple episodes I've seen, pretty good from memory.
Let's start here.
Okay.
There's a BBC documentary called Jared Leto...
You're saying this with a real spring in your voice here.
Because I want people to watch this.
I haven't watched yet.
a chance. Jared Leto's Hollywood's dark secret.
Now, over the decades, and we've talked about it as a lot of people have talked about it.
It is an open secret. James Gunner's called him a pedophile on social media like eight years ago.
He didn't directly call him a pedophile, but he did suggest that.
He was a pedophile.
He did suggest that, yes.
The celebrities have mentioned this, that, yeah, he has groomed, had relationship with.
As an actor and part of his band on tour and by the lot.
assaulted, comments just ran the gamut of crook-behavior and has been doing so for
two plus decades at this point.
It's kind of quietened down or it peaks and troughs.
It resumes every time one of his movies comes out and we're like, why do they keep casting
him?
Yeah, exactly.
Especially since the movies don't do well.
And everybody hates him, even if you don't know this about him.
Yeah.
But anyway, the documentary specifically talks about four new allegations, which, you know,
which are very reputable.
There's receipts for all of these.
The BBC isn't really an organisation that just throws out scurrilous rooms without any evidence,
especially in the UK where the defamation laws are, you know, as severe as ours.
Exactly.
So, yeah, the cases involve like sexting, like him knowing the ages of minors and then being like,
I don't care.
Him commenting on miners' bodies like in front of their mother.
That's one of them.
Also, apparently, and this was obvious also, he has a whole crew of people who
corral underage people, like, to him so he can do things like this, so it has in the past.
Alleged.
Alleged, yeah.
He, well, speaking of, he came out and said, I've never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire
life.
These claims are absolutely and categorically false.
Okay.
But we talked about this before the show as well.
Like, your idea for why this is happening is now, it's because he's outlived his Hollywood
usefulness.
This is, this.
Well, yeah, obviously, you know, these are very serious allegations, but also,
So, you know, from a cynical perspective, if you can possibly imagine this from me, the man
who, you know, is full of wonder and imagination.
Yeah.
Bang, bang.
Thanks.
That it feels like they've gone, okay, well, there's no, he doesn't have any upcoming
movies.
Hey, band bombed.
You know, they sent, they made a few calls.
Strong three's over.
Yeah.
Would we be stepping on anybody's toes here?
Like movie release wise, you know, PR wise, if, if we would, you know, bring this to light now?
no, all right, well, he's done. Let's cut him loose kind of thing.
Exactly. And we also, it seemed like something like this was going to happen.
Like that could have, this should have happened years ago.
Absolutely. It has happened. Yeah, it has happened. But clearly it's someone, it feels to me like somebody,
probably some people have made calls and gone, can you not break this story now?
Yeah. We've got a movie coming out and it would really be helpful if.
Well, look, we'll hide him from the entire he man print. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But just maybe don't talk about it. Yeah. But yeah, it does this thing of like, it does feel like,
yeah, he's outlived his usefulness. Now, because what Hollywood.
Hollywood really cares about, in all honesty.
I hate to be honest.
Art.
Art and science.
And the gift of movie magic.
But it's money.
And he is not a drawer anymore and hasn't been maybe ever.
Right.
And so it's like, well, and you know, he's like mid-50s now or whatever.
He's not going to stage any kind of serious comeback at this point.
Nobody's clamoring to see him.
Fuck it then.
This is it.
Yeah.
And I hope it is.
And I hope there is actual, look, if this stuff is true, it is.
It seems that this will be, you know, there'll be serious ramifications for this.
I doubt that there will be, though.
I think it would just be rich and then just continue to.
Tour and probably.
Yeah, tour and just be around.
Yeah.
And then try to make a weird comeback like Kevin Spacey's doing at some point.
Like Francis Ford Copeland or cast him in something.
Yeah, something like that.
Exactly.
Anyway, fuck this guy.
Cancel guys support.
Cancel guys.
Yeah, he's also not good enough of an actor like to, nobody even wants him to come back.
I assume.
There's no fans, right, at this point?
I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know where you know.
I don't look in every corner of the internet deliberately.
And you shouldn't.
Yeah.
Anyway, great.
Great.
Great.
Great.
Anyway, speaking of,
Oh, yes.
Time for a segment called canceled.
I hardly know them.
Interesting.
This is less serious than the previous thing.
This is more whimsical, you would say.
But it's also sad for the people involved.
Agreed.
Yeah.
So, uh, variety.
Ollie's here.
Yeah, absolutely.
You know variety?
Yeah.
Spice a lot.
Viva variety.
That's what I say.
Wonder Man has been cancelled
I say boo
After it was renewed
A few months after airing
Which is interesting
Because the one of the creators
Is Destin Daniel Kretton
Who directed Spider-Man brand new day
He's doing a big Spider-Man right now
What are they doing to this guy
I don't know
Oh you're flying high are you
Let's have your crumb come crashing down
Your dog, you crumb
You'll probably just do
Your crumb
Destin Daniel Kretton
Guess what your show's cancelled
Yeah but he'll do the next Spider-Bad movie
Yeah that's he'll be okay
He was on, was he on Secret Wars or Kang Dynasty at some point as well?
I think so, yeah.
He was one of those before it became the new Avengers movies they're doing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
According to sources, the writers were in for season two, though, was never opened,
and the show's writers now have been released to pursue other projects.
Maybe this was a thing of like, oh, people seem to like this.
Let's see if we can boost some numbers by saying there is a season two.
Right, okay.
This to me says that it didn't do as well as Disney would have liked.
I mean, also it may be a case of...
It was good.
You know, I did see that.
And then for a second, I'm like, is this viral marketing?
Because remember when we had Yaya Abdul Mateen appearing at red carpets as Wonder Man?
Yes.
You see he was doing that briefly?
There was some Marvel releases, maybe Thunderbolts and et cetera.
And he was there in character.
I'm like, hey, it's good to be Wonder Man.
I'm Simon Williams.
I'm Simon Williams.
So I was like, is this a thing to just put more eyes on it?
But I think it is cancelled.
Yeah.
I wonder if maybe the decision has been made here to like jump him to a supporting character in a movie
or something.
Yeah, okay, yeah.
You know,
Shang Chi 2 or put him in Doomsday or, you know.
And I imagine, you know, Destin Daniel Cretton,
now that he's got, you know,
he's made the biggest movie ever made, evidently.
Maybe he can just be like,
I would like this guy to be in my next thing.
So let's make that happen.
Yeah, you might be right.
Maybe.
Well, yeah, he's nominated for an Emmy as well.
I am.
Because of his role of Simon Wims,
which was really well received.
His response to this was,
I'll see you at the Emmys or whatever.
He'll be fine.
He's a great actor and he'll go.
on to do.
Finn Kingsley, he was Gandhi.
He was Gandhi.
He was also already nominated.
He won for Dr. Manhattan.
Oh, yeah.
For watchman.
But he didn't win for Black Manta.
In Aquaman one or two.
Wow.
Yeah.
He didn't win best amphibian man in a movie or musical.
Do you think he was the best amphibian man in that movie?
In a musical?
I mean, he was in the run.
He was in the conversation.
You can't deny that.
People were talking about it.
Yeah.
And people would say, well, he wasn't born to be an amphibian man.
But who amongst this is?
If anything, I think Aquaman has an unfair advantage.
Agreed, because he was already here.
He had it.
Yeah.
He had to work twice as hard for half as much applause.
And he had to build an Aquaman suit or whatever.
He had to build that suit with a big gun in it or whatever.
They gave him the big gun and he turned into a different gun.
You remember that?
He had a laser in his head.
That's what I'm talking about.
I'm telling you that.
Yes.
I think he's the best amphibian man to me.
Yeah, he might be.
In a movie or musical.
Yes.
Speaking of more counseled stuff, Blade.
I'm thinking specifically of Wet Chicago.
Wet Chicago.
The amphibia musical.
I haven't seen it.
It's the movie Chicago, but the city was submerged.
Oh.
Is it good?
It's terrible.
Yeah, exactly.
It sounds like that, yeah.
Because none of the amphibious.
Yeah, yeah.
They're just drowning.
The whole phone.
Cura.
Mm-hmm.
Et cetera.
I don't think I could watch all of that.
Yeah, it was painful.
You also underwater?
Well, I saw it in 4DX, so I was wet.
Oh, man.
I was soaked.
Okay.
I don't think they do that in Australia,
the wet showing.
I don't want it either.
I don't want a wet experience.
I want a dry time at the movies.
Dry time in the movies.
Blade.
Yes.
Maheshire Ali, who was announced as Blade in 2019,
he spoke to GQ and they asked him about it
and he said, look, I've been doing this professionally
for 30 years now and one thing I've learned
is that what is for you is for you
and what is not is not.
For whatever reason, that project is not for me.
If they wanted to do it, we would have done it.
I had to move on and I have moved on.
So, yeah, they'll also...
Now, are you going to ask me about Slim FitzChino's.
You are GQ, after all, the gentleman's quarterly, if you wouldn't mind.
What do you think of Slim Fittuccino's?
I think they're over.
It's time for a wide leg.
I think it's time for a wide leg.
But maybe even wide legs are on the way out.
It's impossible to know.
It's time for a medium-sized leg.
In the amount of time that they've been producing this Blade movie,
the width of trousers has gone in and out.
Dramatically.
Dramatically.
I don't even know where we are.
It's chaos out there.
Are we on the way back to a slim one?
We might be.
Oh, God.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You didn't even get on the wide ones.
I got some wide ones.
Oh, yeah.
Don't even talk about it.
All right, mate.
All right, mate.
You're going to pair your white trousers with your long t-shirts.
I don't have any long t-shirts anymore, Mason.
Because you're shamed out of them?
Well, I got rid of them, and then I realized I should have kept them
because people are tucking their t-shirts in.
It was the perfect opportunity.
You would have had a better anchoring point for your t-shirts.
Dude, you know it.
Wow.
What about him tucked right?
in my jocks.
Oh my God, yeah.
Did you say that video?
It's Arnold Schwarzenegger.
And it's revealing the secret that Slice Dalone had special shirts made, like button-up shirts
that have like a stirrup underneath.
So they stay tucked in?
He's like, can you believe this?
I mean, yeah, I could see him doing that.
Yeah.
What do you think?
That's funny.
Stirps.
So they're on the leg, like a garter?
No, I think they go like under the...
So they go like under your crotch and like pin underneath?
Yeah, I think so.
Like a lingerie.
right?
Like a onesy of sorts.
I love that for him.
Yeah, it's pretty good, right?
Yeah, like a baby.
Yeah, like a baby's wuzzy.
Yeah.
Cool.
I just think that's funny.
Like, because this was, this was quite recently.
I love the idea that like Schwarzenegger still has this beef where he's like, I'm going to make fun.
I've learned an embarrassing secret about my rival Slice alone and I'm going to tell everybody about it.
Exactly.
Oh, anyway, so he said, Marvel didn't want to do it.
They should answer that question.
So, Kippen what you talked about last week as well, how it's his greatest shame.
Yeah.
that it didn't happen.
Also, we know that at one point it was going to be a period piece
and all those costumes ended up going to Ryan Coogler.
For sinners, yeah.
So there's some wide-legged stuff in there, no doubt, from memory.
Something that I remembered again that we, I think maybe we briefly talked about,
that Ryan Coogler was briefly involved in an adaptation of the comic book series Bitterroot,
which was about vampires.
And he didn't do that.
Then he made sinners.
Does anybody have any scurrilous dirt on that?
I would love to know.
I mean, I suspect what probably happened is he went to,
because Bitter Root and sinners are not the same.
No.
But I wonder if maybe he just thought about adapting it.
And he was like, it doesn't really work for me.
And then he was like, but vampires.
Yeah.
But, you know, if there's any.
Cheching?
Yeah.
Cheching?
No, if there's any, you know, if there's any.
Scarless room.
Scarlous rumors of gossip.
Do you want people to email and say, I actually don't know anything about this, but I also have an opinion?
Do you want that?
I would like that also, yeah.
Okay, great.
I mean, ideally concrete evidence and emails that sync this guy.
Yep.
Mr. Ryan Coogler.
Good.
Finally.
Finally sink that guy.
That's right.
It makes good movies.
But, you know.
I don't even remember this rumor, but we, somebody told us that Mahershal Ali had a lot of
creative control in this project.
And he kept rejecting scripts.
Yeah.
That's what somebody kept telling us yet.
Yeah.
I mean, but also, I don't know whether that's 100% true.
But at that point, he just won an Oscar and it would make sense that he would have more
control over this franchise and character.
Yeah.
I think this was dead a long time ago.
I don't know if you remember, but Todd Williams voiced him in Blake.
night in 2025 and a what if animated thing.
Oh yeah.
And that's the Mahershala Ali blade.
Like that's his design.
Yeah, right.
He did play him once.
In that voiceover in the Eternals.
Yeah.
20, 22, maybe.
Something like that, yeah.
Yeah.
There's only one blade, though, as Wesley Snipes says.
That's right.
There's also TV Blade.
Yeah.
So, as we said, when we looked at the first blade,
we will talk about the other Blade movies when they make a Blade movie.
That's right.
It's going to be hanging over our heads and their heads.
Or we just wait till.
Blade becomes public domain and we make our own Blade movie.
That's right.
Yeah.
Blade, white guy, blade.
Pale blade.
Pale blade.
Don't you think that, wouldn't it be, is that what you want?
Do you want a white blade, Mason?
I'll be honest, I don't want that.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
Prove my point.
Oh, this sucks.
We could do like a Punisher Dirty.
Look, we get a good actor who looks the part and we'll do a fan film a la
punish a dirty laundry.
It could be called Blade at the Chip Shop.
Yeah.
Because he is British, as we know.
You've got to make him British.
He's British, authentically British.
Make a British blade, please.
And they'd be like, whoa.
What are you doing?
We're going to get you, Blade.
And then they'd be like, well, I guess you don't know it's sunup at the chip shop.
Mm.
And he's a day walker.
Yeah.
So, you know.
And he squirts vinegar into someone's eyes and then does a big karate kick.
Big karate kick.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you for going along with me on this journey.
I'm happy to.
This sounds like a great idea.
Absolutely.
Blade at the chip shop.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So there you go.
Blade.
I would love a new blade something.
Maybe they're going to launch him in a Midnight Sun's movie
or something like that.
Some MFers are always trying to chippy dinner uphill.
Who is?
I don't know vampires or whatever.
They probably would be.
Yeah.
Do you know Booster Gold?
I'm aware of him.
So David Jenkins,
who was a writer working on this,
but he said,
he's not somebody's butler?
I don't think so.
I mean, it might be.
He said,
Boost of Gold won't be moving forward.
I can't improve on,
I can't improve on the Herschel is lovely statement,
so I'll just apply it here.
This is for me as well.
This is from me as well.
for a different project in a different universe.
That's right.
And a different production company.
Yeah.
So that doesn't mean the booster gold is not happening.
It means that his version is not happening.
So it's for people who don't know,
Booster Gold is a DC Comics character.
And he's a guy who arrives from the future to the present day
searching for fame and fortune.
CGI was.
CGI was.
And he's searching for fame and fortune,
but he becomes a superhero with his future technology.
And at one point,
I think Kumail Nanjiani was in contention for it.
I mean, if he's involved also and still is, he'd probably write it.
Yeah, you'd think so.
Yeah.
You'd think that.
Maybe him and Gordon Freeman.
From the Half-Life Games.
Great, yes.
Can he write?
I know.
Give him a chance, man.
I don't think I should give him a chance.
He hasn't proven himself to me.
He saved the world.
Did he?
How many times?
Two and a half?
Yeah, two and a half, basically.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, they won't let him do it a third time.
No, it seems that way.
They've just given him a VR experience or whatever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
People often flooded the idea of Glenn Powell.
might be a good...
I think it'd be a good.
But he's also Chad Powers,
which is essentially the same character.
Sort of.
Yeah.
Didn't you say that Glenn Powell's legs are too sure for his torso?
I didn't say that.
Somebody said it anyway.
I can't remember it.
In this room, you think?
Somebody's been saying it.
Someone's been going about saying that, yeah.
His legs are too sure for his torso.
I've never thought that at all.
Someone's been saying it.
Is it you?
I don't know.
Is that what you think?
I don't think so.
I'm going to Google Glenn Powell real quick.
Glenn Powell, full body.
Full body.
Full body shot of Glenn Powell, please.
Glenn Powell, torso legs.
Here we go.
Okay, he's him doing a skipping rope.
Yeah.
I mean, he's jumping, isn't he?
He is jumping, and his feet are sort of cantered down.
He's elongating himself.
That's true.
Wow.
I don't know who came up with this idea.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
This scurrilous rumor, but maybe it has some, maybe it has some legs.
Short legs.
Short legs.
Short stubby little legs.
Yeah, I don't know.
Also, I don't reckon he's as tall as he says he is.
How tall does he say is?
I think he says he's six-something.
I reckon he's like five.
nine.
That's inconclusive.
Proportionally, people are saying things about it.
We need to have him stand.
See, that's the thing.
He's standing next to the problem with determining Hollywood heights.
Because they stand next to other liars.
They're standing next to other liars.
And also probably, it wouldn't even show.
You know how like in schools the basketball hoop is really low?
I imagine they do that in Hollywood as well.
Like all the basketball and all the vending machines are probably like three feet tall.
All the cars are like a third times of smaller.
Exactly.
I reckon they probably do that in Hollywood.
Because all the cars are those little Ferraris in one of them, they're really, they're really low.
So like, tiny ass Mars bars.
300 mil cans as opposed to 330.
Everything's fun size.
Exactly.
Can't get a big red bull.
Dude, where am I going to get a big red bull in Hollywood?
You can't, you've got to get two little red bulls.
Stack them on to each other.
Yeah, drinking at the same time.
Oh my God.
I don't even like Red Bull.
We need, the only way to determine it properly, I think, is to get a, find a standardized thing.
We have to go to Hollywood with a standardized ruler.
Yep.
And we've got to track these celebrities down.
We can't buy that ruler in Hollywood.
No, because they'll have tricked us, won't they?
Yeah.
Like, just pick one up on the airport on the way through.
It'd be like going and buying, you know, getting stuff and you admit that it's a wedding,
you know, and they charge your triple or whatever.
You go, excuse me, do you have a standard size ruler?
Is this for measuring celebrities?
Yes.
Okay, I'll get you a standard size ruler.
He's in on it.
That's Glenn Powell's uncle.
Well, say it's for a wedding.
We'll say it's for a wedding.
They'll charge his triple, but it'll be a proper one, won't it?
You know?
And then we get it.
We get Glenn Powell and we smack him with that ruler for life.
You need an accurate ruler at a wedding because when they do the thing where they put the people on the chair and they bub, bu, bu, bu, you know, and do that thing.
Absolutely.
Because if you get that measurement wrong, you smack the bride's head on the doorframe.
Yes.
You know?
It says he's 5 foot 11 or some people say 6 foot.
Yeah, he says 6 foot.
I don't think so, man.
If he's 6 foot, he's 511.
And if he's 511, he's 5.8.
Yeah. That's all I'm saying.
Okay.
Yeah.
I guess the only, no, so I was going to say.
the only way to do it.
Interesting, big heel on this fella right here.
Oh, that's a, that's a cowboy.
That's a hell of a heel on a Glenn Powell.
Hell of a hill.
It's a hell of a heel.
That's a hell of a heel.
Wow, all right.
People should watch, there's a video that we,
well, we think we talked about it last week, maybe.
Robert Daddy Jr.
sitting with the cast of the Avengers.
Oh, yeah.
And the shoe that he's wearing.
Good Lord, it's enormous.
Yeah.
Because I'm like, oh, I didn't know him and Pedro Pascal were the same height.
Right.
No, no, absolutely not.
Moonboots. He wears those shoes
that Bart wears in that episode where it becomes a
nerd. I would like to think that if I got
massively successful and rich
and famous. You get the big leg surgery.
No, I would just be like, and by
the way, I'm really short. Like, just so you know,
I wouldn't be like, and also I need to spend
millions of dollars on big shoe.
But you're not like weird
short though. But I don't think he's weird short
either. Yeah, but he wants to be
bigger. Right, yeah. Because he's a big action man.
You wouldn't be a big action man.
Look at this. He's next to a tiny dog.
Exactly, Mason.
This is what I'm saying.
Look at him.
Well, look, I'm just a big American man next to this regular size dog.
That's a husky right there.
No, it isn't, man.
He's proportions.
It's a little dog.
His proportions are cooked.
And he's throwing us off, Mason, with all these weird things he's standing around and shoes and boots and the different rulers that he's using.
Oh, look at some high up next to Sidney, oh, she's really short.
Nah, she's leaning down.
Sidney's sweet two.
We all know that.
Yeah, we know this.
Wow.
Wow.
These liars.
Yeah.
Look at this.
Look at this photo.
Forced perspective.
Damn.
Big legs.
Look how big my legs are.
Look, I'm big, big legs, legs first, legs forward.
This is a conspiracy.
It is.
He thinks he can get away with it.
Yeah.
Because he was in Top Gun Maverick.
Should we hire a guy to go around in Hollywood with a standard size ruler?
Yeah.
And he measures them.
And if they're wrong, he smacks them on the bum with the ruler.
With the ruler.
Yeah.
That's right.
Yeah.
And it's not sexual.
No.
I cannot be clear.
No.
Enough about that.
We're going to check with you first before we hire you.
Yeah, that's right.
If this would be sexual for you.
And if it is.
for the Hollywood person.
You're right out.
Yeah, that's true.
So it's humiliating.
Yeah.
For everybody.
But I think they're all into that in Hollywood.
Yeah, what do we do?
I don't know, man.
This is why they can never make it happen.
Wow.
Faster viewers 11.
Alan Richardson, who is the actual big tall man for real?
Yeah, but he's not as tall as reacher, though, is he?
No, reach is like 9 foot 10.
9 foot 10.
And you know how he exercises?
He walks around.
That's why he's so big.
He walks around and then he beats everybody up every day.
So he's 190.
91 centimeters.
Who, the actor or the character?
Reacher.
How tall is Richer?
I think he's six, what's that?
6, 5, 6, 4, 6.5?
He's supposed to be huge, right?
Yeah, I think he's 6.5, yeah, 196.
So, yeah, he's a little bit, and Richardson's apparently 6.3, which means he's 6.1.
You ever made a guy who's actually 6.5?
Monstrous.
Ridiculous.
What's going on?
Which is weird, because 63 is like, that's, I guess.
Yeah, 65 is different.
Like, Jesus Christ.
And when you meet some are big, and I'm sure they get a lot, you want to be like, fuck you're tall.
But you know they get it all the time.
I can't do that either because they'll be like, you're short, and I'm like, I know.
Yeah, but I'm doing as a compliment.
Why he made fun of me.
Hey, how's the weather up there, idiot?
I meant that as a compliment.
Stop picking me up like you're King Kong.
Stop throwing me.
Yeah.
That's what you're doing to him, Mason.
So Alan Richardson spoke to Happy, Sad, Confused podcast.
His best friends.
They're good friends.
They're good friends.
They spoke about Fast and Furious 11, which is called Fast Forever, maybe.
Okay.
If you say so.
I don't know.
Okay.
Another movie said, look, it's too expensive.
It doesn't make a ton of sense.
There's a more efficient way to shoot those.
There has to be a way to show restraint
while also honoring the fact that this world has expanded
to something humongous.
That gets very difficult.
Now we're at the crossroads.
We're at the crossroads.
Of something very hard to figure out.
Everyone's figuring it out, but I think there's going to be another one.
I see you're at a crossroads.
I think it's going to be great.
It's just a matter of solving some big problems,
some very real problems.
The budgets have ballooned insanely for this.
And the profits have not.
Exactly.
did, but then they pushed it too far.
And they have to write a story where Vin Diesel doesn't interact with any of the other characters.
It's true.
He still gets along with Michelle Rodriguez, right?
I don't know.
They can split screen it.
Again, I've said before, they need to do it.
They've got to cut it right down and they've got to do it blues brother's style.
He has to get the band back together.
So you get him and Michelle Rodriguez back together, the characters at least.
You can split screen the actors, it's fine.
And they have to get their car and they have to go around and collect all the characters.
Exactly.
And then they do one last big race or whatever.
But you know the last movie is just going to be him hanging out with Brian,
a dead CGI man, played by his brothers or whatever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
God, I can't wait for this movie.
Me neither.
When it happens in 2036.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is anyone, I mean, people are excited for this, right?
Yeah.
I want to see what they'll do.
Yeah, I'm saying.
That's the main thing.
I want to know what the first 30 seconds are going to be where they go, well, this is how we got on that exploding.
Everything.
Everything.
The entire world exploded, I think.
Didn't Alan Richson push the button that made the entire world explode?
You did, I believe so.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And you got to pay for him to come back and also Jason Momoa.
Like, these are expensive actors.
Jason Momoa was Blanca.
We saw footage and all.
That's true.
We didn't see footage of a blanket.
He's doing that two-footed kick and doing an electricity all the time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's a good blanker.
Great.
Nothing wrong with that, Mason.
But yeah, I mean, I don't know.
I suspect what Vindel, what Vindalub Diesel is doing right now
is that he is, like, he's,
He's writing a script in his head that he has to go to all these actors in real life.
Yeah.
And like bend the knee and be like, don't you want to do this for the legacy of Fast and Furious?
Like, don't you want to do this for like scale wages?
Don't you know?
So we can make this last one.
And they're like, we're all movie stars.
We don't want to do that.
We'd rather do a movie where we get $10 million to be in Hawaii or whatever.
But if you let me do this, I will make another Riddick movie for me.
And wouldn't you want that?
Riddick.
Only original cast member is Riddick.
They've replaced everybody else.
Riddick and Dame Judy Densh.
I don't think she'd do it anymore.
Yeah, probably not.
Did she do Riddick 3?
I don't think she did.
Carl Urban did.
Yeah, briefly in Riddick 3, which is just Riddick 1 again.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Riddick.
Remember they all like, we've started Riddick or whatever,
but they didn't really start Riddick and you Riddick.
They're like it started.
Oh, okay.
I don't know.
It was pretend.
They're pretending to start the movie Riddick.
They love pretending in Hollywood.
don't they?
From heights to producing a movie,
they're always lying to us, aren't they?
We'd never lie to you, the listeners.
We haven't lied to you.
Except for early when I pretended to shoot James with a gun.
That was a game we were playing.
That was a game.
And we told you it was a game, straight away.
Or an improv or whatever we said.
That's right.
Yeah.
Trailers a hoi.
Honk tingling.
Let's do two trailers.
Okay.
Do you want to talk about Jumanji Open World?
Yeah.
So this is the third or fourth in the new Jumanji movies.
Four, it's three, right?
Yeah.
But this is, but also there's a,
It's Jumagi again.
It's original Jumagy, fine.
Yes.
The first one was Sathura.
No, one before that was Thurah, then there was original Jumangi, and there was a TV show.
Uh-huh.
This is Jake Kasden again.
This is what he's directed.
Walk Hard, the Dewee Cox story.
Great movie, understand.
Sex tape.
I don't know what that one is.
That's the one with Cameron Diaz and, um, what's his name?
Seth Rogen's, mate.
Umanji, welcome to the jungle.
Jumangey the next level.
Okay.
Red One.
That's a awful movie.
One of the worst movies ever made.
But I guess it's not his fault.
No, but this one is coming out like Red One on Christmas Day.
I mean, he's the only person is at fault.
I think so.
So this is about December 25th and it's the NPCs from the world of Jumanji coming to the real world.
That's right.
And the Rock's like, hello, I'm real again.
But how long is that going to last?
I don't know, because they seem to go back into the Jumachi.
Yeah, because the base, the initial gist of the trailer seems to be finally, it's like
the original Jumangi, the stuff from Jumangi has made it out into the real world.
Yeah.
But then in the trailer, they're like, okay, we've got a reboot.
the Jumanji guys and get them back in the game Jumanji,
but then there's some situation involving a bucket of water,
a bucket of soapy water that throws a spanner in the words.
On Jumanji.
On Jumangi.
And then the characters from Jumanji go back into the game,
but they're now being inhabited by different people
who don't know what the heck's going on.
Like somebody's mum.
Yeah, didn't that happen in the last one?
An old guy, yeah.
Because like Danny DeVito was whatever.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cool. They're all right, these newer ones and I'm mind them, I guess.
So is this going to be like, maybe the idea is they have to,
take them because they seem to be useless in the real world as NPCs.
So maybe the characters have to go into the Jamargy world and then inhabit them
and then go back into the real world and use their powers.
Can they like, because they're like stuck in MPC mode, can you like switch that so
they've got actual personalities?
Who knows, man?
I didn't write this movie.
We've got to ask Jake Kazden, the director of Red One.
Red one's a good movie.
I don't think it is.
I remember watching it and not liking it.
I'm glad you said that.
I remember watching it at least twice and not liking it both times.
Yeah, we're going to be real about this.
Yeah.
I'm going to be real about the movie Red Wine.
We did do a commentary on the movie Red Wine, and if you remember.
An excruciating grubby movie.
Yep.
It was a bad time of the cinema.
It wasn't.
Did it come out in cinema?
Yeah, we saw it at cinema.
Probably cost me 25 bucks.
No doubt it did, Mason.
God.
You had a red one, didn't you?
A piping hot red face from all the anger.
Yes.
Yes, I did.
Like a big thermometer, man.
That's right.
That's right.
The other one is, of course,
do you mind you whatever, you know, yeah.
The other one is the Thomas Crown Affair
again.
Whoa.
Third Thomas Crown Affair.
Michael B. Jordan is starring and directing.
Okay then.
He directed Crete 3.
He did direct Crete 3.
I liked Creed 3.
It's a good movie.
Cancell Guy in it now, but that's not his fault.
No, he didn't cancel.
It's the cancel guy's fault, but it's not Michael B.
Jordan's fault.
He's not canceled, but he's doing movies for the daily
wire.
Oh, that's true.
A highly successful company which just got a new round of funding or
whatever from some billionaire lunatic.
Terrific.
So chug along for a little bit and choke your Facebook feed.
Why can't we get an infusion of capital from a billionaire lunatic?
Because we got to say crook stuff, Mason.
That's true.
And we do, but it's about stupid shit that nobody cares about or was willing to pay for.
That's true.
We have to be like, I love crime and racism or whatever.
Inside a trading and whatever.
We're going to do that stuff.
It's all good, actually.
Yeah, it's all good actually.
Let's practice it in the next few weeks and see how it goes.
Maybe one at a time.
Next week we'll say that insider trading is good.
Okay.
Yeah.
See how it goes.
I agree.
And then we'll see if we can get a few nibbles.
Let me tell you, man.
Put the hook out there, see if we get some minutes.
If I could inside a trade, I would.
Yeah.
No word of a lie.
I don't know how it works.
Don't have a problem with it.
Yeah.
Tell me if you're selling your big company, I want to know, I'll buy your shares.
Not a joke.
Let me know.
I always find with any financial tip if it gets to me.
It's too late, right?
It's way too late.
Absolutely.
If it's got to me, you have got through to get to me for me to accidentally hear something,
no, thank you.
Yeah.
It's already in the way out.
It's like, hey, man, you want to invest on those big wide trousers.
You know, inside a trade, by a big,
I hear big white trousers are coming back.
And you buy a big pile of slacks.
Exactly.
At stacks of slacks.
I accidentally got in on big log t-shirts too early.
But I sold early.
Yeah, you sold early.
You got to buy the dip on big long t-shirts.
Dog wants in.
Come on, Ollie.
I think I'm just going to stick with Henley's.
It seems to be working for me.
Absolutely.
If that's what you want to believe, sure, they're working for you.
It's working for me.
Okay, then.
This also stars Andrea Ahorna, who was great also.
He was in Hitman.
I like that movie a lot.
Me too.
Even though it's got Glenn Powell's weirdly proportioned body or head or whatever we decided.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So Thomas Crown, you familiar with this?
I'm familiar.
Is a billionaire, which we like.
We like that.
Who cleverly steals a painting while another heist fails.
Followed by an insurance investigator, they fall in love.
And there's a cat and mouse game.
Now, previously, of course, that's Steve McQueen.
He's the original Thomas Crown Affair.
And it was Pierce Brosnan and...
I don't know who the leading lady was in the original, but it's...
I don't remember.
It was.
In the Pierce Brosnan one, it's, uh...
Not Susan Sarandon.
No, it's that lady.
It's not Gina Davis.
Who's that lady?
Who's that lady?
Who's that?
She's in lethal weapons.
Some of them.
Let's look it up.
God.
Let's look it up.
Renee Russo.
René Russo.
I didn't even have to look it up.
I looked at her face and then I figured it out.
Nice.
I haven't seen any of these.
Is Faye Dunaway the original?
I was going to say, because she's in the...
She's in the remake.
The first remake, right?
Let me check.
Anyway, so this is going to be a kind of a...
It is Faye Darnow, you're right.
Here you go.
So, this one, according to Michael B. Jordan,
it's going to be a little bit different
because in the originals, he's just stealing for fun, basically.
Yeah.
He's just like, I'm bored and I like stealing and doing crimes,
and you can't get me.
But he's like, I'm going to steal stuff that was stolen already and put it back.
What's he stealing for now then?
I don't know.
Like, you know, cultural artefacts that people got stolen,
he's going to steal them and bring them back or whatever.
Wow, politics.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
In my movies?
Yeah.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
That sounds good.
Yeah, it's also got Kenneth Brunard.
Really Gladstone's in it.
Aubrey Plaza is in it.
Deni Greer is in this.
Oh, this is a good cast, man.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't think it wasn't a good cast.
Remember the bit where he goes,
try and catch me.
I'm Thomas Crown Affair and he jumps off the water?
And they're like, Thomas Crown Affair, don't do that.
You know, I can't follow you under the water.
I'm afraid.
I can't swim.
That's the thing with this guy.
He's a daredevil.
Yeah, that's what we like about it.
Yeah, he's driving his little cast.
He's trapped his little flat, short Hollywood cars.
Can't tell how tall he is.
He's like five.
Very convenient.
Michael B. Jordan is like 5'8, which means he's 5'6.
Yes, people are saying something.
Now they're like, oh, he's 6 foot.
Oh, yeah.
100% not 6'4.
Yeah, because he's standing on his bloody piles of cash, isn't he?
Exactly.
There's no way this dude is 6 foot.
This is ridiculous.
We need this ruler.
Yeah.
Standard ruler.
I think we have to do it.
Yeah.
Because we wouldn't be getting off on it.
We'd only be getting off on getting off.
getting the truth. Yeah, it's true. Yeah. Got to be in our Ironman style lab
car with this ruler, this standard ruler. With a big laser. With a big laser, exactly.
A big accurate laser. That's right. But then when you think about it,
and then we flashback, we're like, where do we buy that big laser from? Yeah. Hollywood
Laser Company. No. No, they tricked us again. That's so naive of us. And who owns the
laser company, Glenn Powell.
What?
Glenn Laser Powell.
I didn't know his middle name
was Laser Powell.
It is.
Laser Powell.
No pal of mine.
That's what I'm saying.
Because he sold his dodgy-assie-a-lacer.
Son of a bitch.
This is out March 5th of next year.
Not the laser.
The movie we were talking about 10 minutes ago.
That's right.
Looks fun.
I always like a gentleman thief burglar heist man.
It's always good fun.
Even if they lie about
They're high.
Especially when the investigator's like,
do-oo!
I'm in love with you so much, though.
You know?
So Michael B. Jordan.
Is the only other thing he's directed Creed 3?
I believe that's true.
I think so.
Yes.
Yeah, I'm just double-checking that.
Okay.
He was in so many things.
So true, isn't it?
Let me just check.
I'm just checking all the...
God, he's done so many good roles of things as well.
Da-da-da-da.
Oh, he was in Space Jam 2, if you remember that?
Speaking of this week,
you go to big sandwich.com or patreon.com.
to Sunno movies, oh, YouTube membership.
We'd look at Space Jam, don't we?
Space Jam and New Legacy.
What a great film.
What a great film.
It's hard to believe that that's a great film.
It is.
You can barely believe it, but it's true, actually.
Yeah.
And there's also a Q&A is going up.
We're doing our latest Q&A.
Very nice.
You got Q's?
We got Q's and A's.
We did them already.
Mindy P's and Q's, we've got Q's and A's.
Yeah, we've got a question for you.
Do you want to talk about this next bit of casting rumors?
Okay.
And Trumis was one as true.
This is deadline.
Okay.
X-Men cast.
We know Samara Weaving, according to the deadline, will play Emma Frost.
That's exciting.
A white queen.
Yes.
It was previously played by Don Draper's wife.
January Jones.
January Jones in the X-Men prequel movies.
And also, she was also in that Hugh Jackman one or something.
Oh, yeah, young Emma Frost.
In the X-Men covered.
Yeah, she's in X-Men origins, right?
Yeah.
Good movies.
All in all.
This is great casting.
Good cast.
Very good.
Can't argue with any of that.
Delightful.
And one of the latest rumours is,
that Cooper Hoffman will be Cyclops.
I think that's true.
Why not?
I don't know.
I don't think he's too old.
Is he?
He's 23.
My feeling is...
That's fine, because if they make him adult...
He looks older.
Yeah, sure.
He looks older.
Yeah.
See, Kaylee Spaney is a legend.
She's supposedly going to be rogue.
Yeah.
She looks very young.
I think she's in a mid-20s,
but if you were like,
these characters all supposed to be like seven...
Like, I'm thinking Emma Frost
is supposed to be a little bit older
than the X-Men.
And the X-Men are going to be like Gen Z teenagers, Gen A, Gen Alpha teenagers.
Like the idea, I think Marvel's going to be, want to be like, these are young people.
I think they're going to make.
You see any young people on screen?
I think they're going to make them young people in the school, but they'll be even younger people.
So it'll be like him and maybe other actors who were in their early to mid-20s.
And then they're going to have a younger crew.
Because, you know, like in the original X-Men movie, Cyclops is a teacher and Gene Graham, whatever.
Also, Cooper Hoffman height, it's estimated to be around 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 11.
What are we doing?
What are we doing?
This is madness.
Who's in charge of this?
Nobody, obviously.
Unregulated markets.
So he's somewhere between one inch and infinity feet tall.
Thanks, Hollywood Handbook, or whatever, variety deadline, whatever, he lies.
You're all complicit.
This is all crap shit.
Yes, agreed.
Do you agree?
I agree with you.
All right, we're going to talk about big movie.
I have a big movie.
Wait, James, I'll just check.
I'll just check my movie tracker.
You know, I was a keep track of all the movies that are being reported around here.
Yeah, I remember that.
Let me just check.
Bam, bam.
Big movie.
Check the height on that movie.
Really big.
Yeah.
Really big heights.
Okay, it is.
It's Spider-Man brand new day.
Spider-Man boy to man.
Oh, yes.
It's the latest in the Spider-Man franchise Mason.
The 900 version.
No, it's the, is it the ninth live-action movie?
Who's to say?
There's a three Toby McGuire ones.
There's two Andrew Garfield.
That's five.
Three original Tom Hollem one.
That's eight.
And this is the newest Tom Holloman.
But he's also in Civil War plus two Avengers and there's two animated movies.
All those are fake movies you've mentioned.
So the only real movies are the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies.
Agreed.
Yeah.
There's a good movies and we all agree.
Does that include the one where he came back with Toby McGuire?
Nope.
That's a different movie.
Different movie.
So this cost around $225 million to make probably $100 million for marketing.
This is enormous.
Big movie.
This has a huge opening between,
this is the US alone,
260 to 280 million,
which is above the last Spider-Man movie,
three Spider-Man,
which is insane because that was a huge event.
Huge, big movie.
It is below end game,
which holds the record.
My big movie tracking device has exploded.
Yes.
With delight.
But there are people saying
that it could hit 300 million US opening.
Internationally, it's going to land somewhere
between $275 to $300 million.
This is going to crack a billy?
But it's not a case of if, but when?
It's going to happen.
Yeah.
So this could go down as the third best worldwide opening of anything ever.
Whoa.
What are the other two?
I guess Endgame and probably Force Awakens.
Two great movies.
Top of my head.
Famously good movies.
But if it's not that, it's two other movies.
Two other movies, Titanic or whatever.
No, that didn't have a huge opening.
That and Avatar, they never have massive openings, but they just tick away.
They tick away.
they get the chance to tick away.
They do.
Now, before we get into you asking me what the story is, and I go,
I was about to ask.
I don't even think about that.
I'm mad.
Right, we did the thing we do.
Why do you think that this is?
Why is it?
Because we think, I think we discussed this last week.
Yeah.
We were like, guaranteed Spider-Man's going to open big and be a big movie.
But I don't know about Doomsday.
Yeah.
Or, and, you know, and why, why is that and not Thunderbolts or what have you?
It's because it's Spider-Man.
Spider-Man's a proven.
Spider-Man is always big.
It always opens big.
It's also a universally popular character.
Correct, yes.
It hits like every age group and demographic.
I think it's also something about like the, like the nature of the character is quite relatable and it can be anybody.
Like it's the most...
Can't be you.
No.
No.
I just need to remind you of that.
Hey, Joe.
And also, I also think that it's like it's just, it's a straight, when you've got one main character, it's way more straightforward.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
There's not a bunch of motivations and relationships to keep track of.
And like we've said, I think a lot of people tapped out at the last Avengers movie.
Yeah.
But they still like superhero movies when they're done well.
And they have a sheen of quality.
You know, it's not just another turd churned out by those turd churners over at Marvel.
You know what I mean?
Or Sony who made a bunch of Spider-Man.
Famous turd churners over at Sony.
They are famous for it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So this is, you know, because you can tie to the MCN.
you and you can put in Hulk and whatever.
But it's not reliant on any particular...
And mystery women.
And mystery women.
But it's not reliant on any particular character turning up other than Spider-Man.
Yes.
Although some characters turn up and you go, whew-
That's not Spider-Man.
It's a different guy.
It's a different guy.
It's also the most...
The merch sells the best more than anything.
Also, the video games were hugely successful.
Recently in all the...
There's certainly an influence on this, I think.
Absolutely.
Well, Tom Holland's talked about that.
Like, they're putting some of the finishing moves into the combat
of this. So when he pulls
the Punisher's spine out. Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, right. That's part of it.
You shouldn't be carrying these guns around. You don't have a
permit for that. Yeah.
This is a tougher and rougher
Spider-Man than maybe you've ever saying. That's right.
Which leads me to ask you.
Yes, go on. What do you? I'm ready
I'm ready for any question you might ask.
Okay. What do you think the story is? Oh, come on, man.
I didn't think about that question you would ask
that question. Well, now's the time for you to rise to the
challenge much like the Spider-Man would.
All right, so Spider-Man.
Oh, my God, your eyes are turning black.
That's right, because I'm mad.
And I've had too much caffeine.
I've had three caffeine, I think, today.
Three caffeine.
Three caffeine, easily.
Spider-Man, everybody forgot him last movie.
They all forgot him last movie because of magic spell.
Also, they left enough gap between this and the last one.
And they didn't make it bigger.
They made it, you know, they didn't just pile more crap onto it.
Yeah, sure, okay.
Which they wanted to do, do a big multiverse thing.
Oh, they did want to pile on more crap.
I heard about that, yeah.
More, but bring back the original.
original, the other Spider-Man again, and they were all venoms or something?
Apparently, this was Sony and whatever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because they love doing that shit.
Why don't they know how to make a good movie?
It's fascinating.
It's wild.
Because for people who don't know, because Marvel have story rights on this, basically
so they can create the story for Sony.
Okay.
We'll handle this Sony.
You're bad at movies.
Yeah, which is true.
So that's how we got here.
Also, it's very clear that you don't need that shit for it to work because this is opening
bigger than the last one.
Yeah.
And I know it was COVID or whatever, but that was still big.
big movie. Sorry, go on.
Sorry.
Anyway, everybody forgot Spider-Man.
So, Spider-Man's like, I'm just going to be a loser in a big apartment.
And I'm gonna, one day...
Oh, I hope you, it meets a landlord, he's like, I guess you can have this giant
room if you want.
That's right.
Okay.
Yeah, we put so much stuff in it because it's such a big room.
But if somebody would have moved that stuff out, it would have a beautiful window
view of the city.
But you could jump in and out of.
You could do secret activities in here.
See, it's a beautiful...
What I hate about this room that I'm reluctant to do that I'm reluctant to do.
to rent to you is that it's got such a big window view of the city, but also it's a,
it's a window that nobody would notice you coming in or out of at any moment, any time of
the day or night, which is why I'm reluctant to rent it to you, because who would even, you wouldn't
want that.
You wouldn't want the ability to do that.
Yeah.
So, you could, actually, I do.
You could mutate in here and jump around.
People wouldn't even notice.
Not that you would do that.
You seem like a nice, normal lad, actually.
But anyway, it's been several years, and he's become the big hero of the city.
Everybody loves him because he's stopping all the crime.
He's stopping all the crime in montages.
They're like, Spider, we love all the montages you did where you stopped all the crime.
Regular crime.
Regular crime.
Ramrod.
Tombstone.
Tarantula.
Tarantula.
Boomerang.
Boom barang.
Billy Clemens, who played Ramron, said, I love comics.
And to own a comic where you're on the front cover to me is so, so cool.
A lot of Ramrod stuff was cut.
All of it was stuff.
I'll stop you there, buddy.
All your stuff was cut.
But when they had to cut three hours.
and make a lot of...
So a lot more recognised actors
were also totally cut out.
So he's happy to be in it.
Which we also know Rosario Dawson
is one of the people we know
that was in this car.
That we know personally.
Yes.
Yeah, I'd forgotten...
Until you mentioned that,
I forgot Tombstone was in this.
But he is.
He's like, you're not going to defeat me, Spider-Man?
And he's like, well, guess what?
Wrong and I am.
I'm doing it now.
Go to jail, idiot.
Yeah, man.
Anyway, so he's good then.
He's...
No, because he can't tell him.
He's in love with MJ.
He's loved MJ for four.
years she's got a uni and that and she's getting a degree.
She's kissing that fucking dude from a soccer or whatever.
That guy, Mr. Boyfriend.
She's kissing Mr. Boyfriend.
He's like, hello, I'm Mr. Boyfriend.
You want to go on a date?
Would you like me to be in more of this movie?
No, just this one scene, then no problem.
That's right.
Good day.
How do you do to all of you?
That's right.
It's me, Mr. Boyfriend, Esquire.
But then, but he can't talk to MJ.
It's been a long, he hasn't ripped the Band-Aid off.
He thinks he's written that big message to MJ.
He's like, oh, man, I was actually, I'm Spider-Man.
And actually, we used to do big kisses back of the day back in the olden times.
And I want to do that again.
So if you would just get on board with that.
But he can't, you can't do it.
So he's just been looking at her from a distance over the streaming.
Four years.
He could have established a new friendship and connection with somebody.
Could have done that, but he doesn't want to.
Dork-ass behavior.
Dork-ass behavior, exactly.
But then there's, there's a new friendship.
mysterious lady who's that lady who is that who's that god i know didn't they spoil it
immediately on the red carpet yeah somebody did i think someone who's a musician i think who was on
the soundtrack yeah was like oh and isn't it interesting that this person is this person and they were like
you shouldn't have said that michael jacchino did the soundtrack for this i believe but it wasn't
him no it was i think somebody who maybe a song appears on or it's one of those you know those
playlist where it's like inspired by the spiderman brandy or whatever we won't spoil that here
even though you probably know.
I had it spoiled by an article before I went in.
It's the punisher.
The mysterious lady is the punisher.
And he's like, I'm just a your non-a.
I mean, I'd seen enough speculation.
You're not my non-a.
You've got a 50-caliber assault rifle.
I am your non-a, but I also have this.
And I'm the punisher.
I'm doing more things.
Yeah, I mean, you knew, I assume.
Yes.
We'll talk about it, Warren, spoilers.
Yes.
Yeah.
So there's a new menace.
Yes.
And it's not just Spider-Man, then menace.
She's doing mind-jumping.
Yes.
Technologies.
or abilities.
Or maybe it isn't a lady.
Maybe it's a different person.
It's a lady.
It's a lady.
She wears a hood.
Yes.
And Spider-Man's like, well, I'd better
I'd better learn about this lady
by going to my good friends
of the Department of Damage Control.
My good friend Trammell-Tilman
who's playing a guy.
Mr. Metzger or something
or Meltzka or...
Brad Meltzger.
Department of Damage Control,
famously good guys in all the movies
that have been in.
That's correct.
Never put a foot wrong.
Yep.
Yeah, never on the side of the bad guys
and against the hero.
Never just let Michael Keaton just steal a bunch of shit
and fly around in a big robot bird suit.
Never happened.
Yeah.
Tony Stark should have compensated those guys.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah.
The Michael Keaton guys.
Yeah, they should have bought out their contract.
He doesn't care.
Yeah, and he's dead now.
He's dead now.
Yeah, he's Doctor Doom.
Good riddance.
Dork to Doom.
Yeah.
How did you feel this played for you when he was?
I had a lot of fun with this one.
Me too.
And, you know, it's good to see Spider-Man back.
Yep.
But I think this was, again, I'm pretty sour on the last.
one, I think I mentioned.
You soured.
I did sour.
Oh, I soured quite a bit.
Like an old milk.
And again, I think there's probably some legitimate complaints about this, you know,
that maybe this movie is too much of a setting the table for subsequent movies as opposed
to, you know, being its own story.
But I think we'll talk about that in spoilers.
But I think, you know, this has got what I want, which is Spider-Man having adventures
in the city and fighting crime.
and teaming up with other guys
who are not necessarily just like cameos
for the sake of cameos
and having proper relationships with them
and with law enforcement
and a real kind of
feels like a lived in world now.
It does, it really does.
I think, yeah, there is,
I liked it a lot too.
I liked it more than the last one.
It looks better, like the action looks better.
Yeah, I think it's also, you know,
to that movie was filmed in a cupboard during COVID.
Correct, yes.
It is what it is we've talked about.
I don't even hate it.
I think it's pretty good in parts.
But this is better.
the action scenes are better, it looks better, it's clearly filmed outdoors more.
Yeah, it just works more as a, just as its own thing.
How much of that web swinging is actually real?
Almost none of it.
I don't think there's much of it in the overall.
But they, you know, John Watts, I think previous director of the,
director of the previous Spider-Man movie said,
well, you can't really do web swimming scenes that don't look good.
Well, you're wrong.
And maybe you should have tried harder on a Spider-Man movie.
Well, I also think his first Spider-Man movie, the John Watts one,
is also a very, very good.
I think the first one is good.
Homecoming's good, yeah.
Again, having only seen this,
but this is like at least as good as that one.
Yeah, I mean, I like John Watts's kind of,
like I've said, the breakfast club,
yeah.
Fun, high school hijinks situations.
And this one is, you know,
the slightly older Peter Parker and, you know.
Running around.
Yeah, and he's the people's champion, you know.
Yeah. I think it's a, there might be a bit too much of like,
oh, I'm sad and I'm mutating.
Oh, I'm all right.
Oh, wait, I'm sad and I'm okay.
Yeah, right.
There's a bit of.
back and forth on that that happens.
Because it's like, it's 2 hours and 25.
There is a lot going on, yes.
It's, you know, it's big movie.
Yeah, you could, there's probably an A plot, a B plot and a C plot,
and you could probably cut one of them out.
Orsaria Lawson, maybe, for example.
Yeah, let's chop her out, get rid of her.
Yeah.
What's you done for me lately?
I don't know about that, actually.
Yeah.
So Tom Holland was very much involved in this and was also...
He's realized, I think, that they need him more than...
Which is true.
The studio.
And then he needs the studio, yeah.
Yeah. So he was also online seeing what people, you know,
like and apparently we talked about how it was
he's been on just a press junker for the past
like month because of the odd movies yes
yeah so about
we're putting them together
that works for man brand new dadacy
no brand new bodicey
yes there we go yeah
you know he was his idea to have spider man mutate
okay and they were going to take it further
you talked about at one point maybe we put fangs in his wrist
and then that was too much that's also
even though it's not that they said give him a platypus stinger
When you get cut by and you have weird effects forever.
Absolutely.
Is that what it does?
I think so.
Some sort of paralyzing agent, but you feel it forever.
You go numb forever or something.
I don't need that.
Yeah, I don't need it at all.
It's a plattipus also.
What are you doing the plattipus?
Agreed.
Monotrim, monotreem ass platypus.
Laying an egg and doing other things all around.
I think though having giving him like a stinger is too close to Miles Morales as well.
Yeah, right, right, right.
And I think there have been other spider men that have had stingers in their wrists.
But there was apparently going to be a nightmare sequence that they took out.
I don't know how far that got.
And that's where Darkseys taken over the world?
That's right.
And he has to wear a trench coat and tell everybody.
And then Superman shows up and lasers him.
That's right.
Wow.
Way, well, wow, well.
If I had to guess, I would say they went full man spider.
Yeah.
Because in the comics, when Peter Parker does mutate and get his organic webs, which happens in this.
Yeah.
And I'm just going to spoil all the things.
that are in the trailers.
I'm not going to go beyond that.
And he also bursts out of a big spider at one point.
Yeah.
And you see that in there.
He's watching footage of a spider do that.
Yeah.
And I wonder whether they were going to...
But, you know, these are for kids also.
And a kid watching Spider-Man turn into a giant spider.
That's not relatable.
That's not relatable.
It's unrelatable.
I mean, it's a metaphor, isn't it?
It's a metaphor for being relatable.
Hmm, I agree.
What do you think about the organic web stuff?
I mean, it makes more sense.
Do you think it's all...
I think you can justify it by being like,
oh, he's seen this before with Toby McGuire.
Yeah.
Also, he already is shooting webs from his wrist.
So his brain has been like,
oh, the webs come out of the wrists.
And not the butt.
And not to the butt where they should come out of.
Exactly, yeah.
Yeah, I assume that's how it goes.
And they're loose like a fire hose, basically.
That's right, yes.
Just.
Which is a metaphor.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Where's he keeping it all?
I don't know.
Yeah.
He should de-special sacks.
He should deflates.
Would you say that he probably keeps it all in special sex?
Yes.
Yeah.
And he should deflate.
He should deflate.
Yes.
Yes.
Like a balloon.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
What about the suit?
I like it.
It took them four movies, but they finally made the correct one, which is a cloth-looking suit.
Well, yeah, it's cloth-looking.
It's a bit looser.
Yeah.
I've mentioned before.
I have a soft spot for the old, like, 1970s Spider-Man TV show TV movies.
Nicholas Hammond.
Nicholas Hammond, they were on VHS at my local video store back in the day.
So I have a big soft spot for it just looks like a cloth suit.
And why wouldn't it?
Why wouldn't it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's also a blend of the other two Spider-Men who he met.
Yeah, right.
This guy's not an original idea in his life.
Completely agree.
Completely agree, Mason.
Never had a good original thought in his life.
What a dumb ass.
Yeah, and again, I think, you know, the idea behind the mechanical web shoot is that he is a technique, you know,
he's supposed to be a technical genius in the comic books, and that's why he does it.
But it makes more sense that these are spider powers,
because otherwise he's just cling to walls guy.
Exactly.
He's cling to walls,
clairvoyant guy.
Yeah.
Like a spider is.
Like a spider is.
But, you know, we see his genius in the rest of the movie.
Yeah.
You know, he's built another AI.
He's building tech stuff.
There's a moment he goes to Bruce Banner and goes,
I'm mutating.
And Bruce Bannon goes, well, this is how I did with my mutation.
He goes, oh, yeah?
And he just does that.
Yeah.
Just doesn't even get the blueprint for it.
Just go, I'll make one of those.
Yeah.
And it's small.
than Bruce Banner's one.
Yeah.
Significantly.
Very much so, yeah.
Also, this will work on.
I'm made one that will work on anybody.
Yeah, that's right.
I'm sure nobody in the future
will have a problem with that.
Hey, Bruce, you want a couple of spares?
Put them in your glove box or whatever?
No, I have this giant wrist gauntlet, thank you very much.
Embarrassing, your stupid wrist gawlet.
What did you get that at a Kmart, idiot?
Yeah, I got it at a Kmart.
What's wrong with that?
Okay.
Three easy payments for your wrist gauntlet?
Yes, it was.
Dumbass.
Also, my mum got me these big jeans.
Oh, yeah.
They're very much in fashion right now.
Thank you.
This week.
This feels also the most Ramey-esque of these ones.
Okay.
The costume, but also there's like, there's a horror element to it which Ramey would bring in,
like the black eyes and the darkness.
If you say so.
The bit where the ninja star goes past him and he watches it is that Flash Thompson.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Sure.
All right.
Yeah, yeah.
Also, I feel like the Toby McGuire version, there is like a tragedy and an isolation in this one,
which isn't in his other ones
because he knows all the Avengers
and he has friends
and all that.
Yeah, he's not hanging out with it.
Well, well.
Well.
Yeah, you'd think you'd have some new friends.
Yeah, get some mates.
Yeah, get some mates.
But, you know, he's just leaned into being Spider-Man.
He'd be mates with Miss Marvel.
She'd be a good friend.
She would love to be mates with you.
Yeah, she live in New York, probably.
Probably.
I don't know where she's living.
I don't know.
Or she went to space inside a cat or whatever.
Yeah, maybe she did that.
Yeah.
I do like Ms. Marvel.
I do also, yeah.
How about action-wise?
Very good.
Very enjoyable.
Good sequences, unique sequences.
Memorable sequences.
Naming no name, spider, supergirl, woman.
Maybe have some memorable action sequences.
Maybe try it.
Oh, you're talking about, oh, I thought you're like, is there a supergirl woman in this?
Kind of.
Yeah.
But you're talking about actual supergirl.
I agree.
Yeah.
I completely agree.
But people will be like, oh, yeah, remember that sequence?
Yeah.
Remember that sequence, they'll say.
Did you like the sequence?
And this is in the trailer where he picks up scorping by the tail and smashes him
head first into a cop car.
I do, yes.
That was pretty good.
Yeah, I mean, we'll talk about the, uh, we'll talk about the, uh, the treatment of
authority figures and how many people do or do not get murdered in this movie.
Yeah.
Probably in spoilers, I reckon.
Absolutely.
He fights the hand at one point.
That's right.
Which is a good sequence.
There is also a moment.
Oh yeah.
Oh, no.
Again, that's in spoilers.
Spoilers, yeah.
There's a, we're employing the hand.
Yeah.
The Hulk is, is, that's a great sequence as well with the Hulk and maybe he has a little bit of
help who's to say.
That's right.
Unrelated.
Yes.
How'd you feel about his relationship with the Punisher in this?
I liked it.
I love the Punisher being paired up with someone nice.
Yes, agree.
Because he has to bend a little bit.
He shouldn't be technically.
And again, you know, but that is, this is a tradition of Marvel Comics for years and years and years.
It is a man who ruthlessly machine guns villains every month in his own comic book.
And then he has to team up with something else.
And they're like, okay, Frank, don't do any killing this time.
And he's like, ugh.
I'm going.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, well, I'll just, I'll just say a line about how you just wing them.
I'll say that later, and I'll look the other way mostly.
That's a tradition in the comic books, and it doesn't really make any sense, but it's fine.
Or he'll use rubber bullets or whatever.
Sure.
I remember a particular Spider-Man crossover one time where he's just using Nunchucks.
He's like, time to break out the Nunchucks against these invincible cyborgs, I guess.
I think there's only one person he won.
It's really, really shoots with a bullet in this.
And we'll talk about that in spoilt.
It's Aunt May in a flashback.
That's right.
Pachow!
Pachow!
Zendaya's great in this.
Great.
She apparently got an MJ pass on this script because her character was just too normal.
Because, you know, she's quite weird.
Yeah.
And I'm glad they did that because they retain what is interesting and fun.
About this version of MJ.
But she isn't like just a surly teen.
Is it true that Sony originally for this version of Spider-Man did
want to marry Jane in the movies at all.
Is that?
Or I imagine that.
And so they had to be like, well, it's Michelle.
Yeah, okay.
Oh, maybe.
So what they could do, like, when Stacey first or something?
Maybe, yeah.
I don't know if that's true.
I read that.
I read that on Twitter, so it's probably not true.
But then it makes sense that they'd be like,
and now we've established a character that people like,
guess what she is, MJ.
Surprise.
Surprise.
Yeah.
Jacob Battalon's good as well.
I agree, yeah.
Good returning is Ned.
Yeah, he's fun and funny.
Yeah, he's fun and funny.
He's funny.
Did I mention he's in the wrecking crew also?
The one with Jason Momoa and...
Yeah.
And David Tista, yeah.
Yes, David Tista.
Yeah.
He's fun in that.
I think he should...
I think they should do...
I mentioned this before.
They should just do that every year.
But I think Jacob Badalon's character should be...
He should appear in every subsequent movie as a guy who's trying to get away from the wrecking crew.
Like, he's like, oh, God, I've got to get away.
I'm going to take a vacation to Siberia.
And then they just show up on a snowplow and ruin his day again.
Oh, no.
It's a wrecking.
It's the record crew again.
Damn.
Yeah. But yeah, he's fun.
I like his...
He's always good.
Yeah.
And clearly like everybody,
because they've all been working on these movies together
for 10 plus years now or whatever.
Yeah.
They all know each other and they have good chemistry.
John Berenthal and Tom Holland have now known each other.
For a long time.
They've worked with each other in a number of movies.
Two this year.
Two this year.
But they did...
I can't remember what it's called,
but they did a movie in like 2017 together or whatever.
So you can see that.
It was called Young the Odyssey.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Whoa.
Yeah, that's right.
Is it like a young Hercules with Ryan Gosling?
No, it's more like the Breakfast Club.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, that sounds pretty good.
Yeah, I really enjoyed this.
I'm me too.
I will watch it again when it's at home because I'm not going on the cinemas.
It's too long.
Okay, sure.
I didn't feel it.
I can't carve out.
No, I just mean, it didn't feel really, really long.
But I mean, I have to carve out the time and the day.
Yeah.
To see it.
And I can't because I have to watch six Resident Evil movies in a row for work.
That's right.
It's not a joke
No
That is happening
We did one
Best movie ever
I think best movie
Also
We're gonna do big spoilers
Oh my God
I cannot wait for big spoilers
Oh my god
But ba
But ba ba
Beba ba ba
Bebaba
Bebaba
Beba
Jeans
Gray Mason
Is that enough time
For big spoilers
Yeah
Okay
Collings leave a slightly
bigger pause
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Leave some of that
Elevator
Music
It goes
Bap
Bap
Yeah
You know bit of that
Yeah
In fact
That on a loop
Yeah
That's fine
Anyway, it is Jean Grey.
Gene's Gray.
Yeah, Jeans Gray.
There she is.
Like Deadpool.
At Comic Con, he was Jeans Gray.
That's a spoiler for Comic Con.
Yes.
I don't care.
He was Jeans Gray.
He was Jeans Gray.
So Sadie Sinkka, the rumor and also the speculation that we were going to get an X-Men
introduction is they don't say mutant?
I don't.
Do they?
They say pew-tent.
They say pew-poo.
Do they?
She stinks.
I don't know about that.
She didn't run around in that hoodie for a long time.
Gosh, she's so mean.
She is mean.
This jean-
I would say that the most interesting thing
about this character
and when you...
Oh, I like that by the way, I should point out.
Yeah, well, see, the thing is because
when the reveal happens
at that point in the movie,
a lot of chaos has occurred.
Yeah.
She hijacked that tank.
She at least
flipped a bunch of cop cars.
I don't know if any of them explode.
As someone...
I feel like the recollection is some explode.
As someone pointed out to me,
listening to the show,
as I was leaving.
I was like, I don't think she killed anyone on screen,
but no, she goes into an old guy and then steps in front of a car.
And then he gets hit by a car.
But maybe he was a bad guy.
Or maybe he was a bad guy.
I don't know.
It looked like a working man to me.
Maybe he was going to do that anyway.
Maybe he was.
Yeah.
Or maybe she had him roll with it.
Also, Gene Gray is like...
There's a moment in this, and I think it's Frank, Frank Castle.
And he says, how did she learn how to drive a tank?
And the answer is, we don't know.
It's never answered.
It is a great question.
She remembers stuff.
She can read into people's minds or whatever.
So what I'm just going to say is the revelation that it's Jean Gray, you know,
at the midpoint of the movie, makes you go, well, she did a lot of kind of villainous stuff.
Like at one point the tank is firing like a big gun into buildings and stuff.
And what we have to do is you have to do two things.
You have to go, okay, well, it is waved away at some point in the movie with a line.
I think Spider-Man says, oh, well, you haven't killed anybody yet.
Okay, alright.
So the implication is that she knew the buildings were empty or they evacuated or something like that or like, you know, those cop cars she flipped over.
Were empty.
We're empty.
Those ones driving down the city streets were empty.
Yep.
You know, because it's interesting because, you know, whether you like the police or not, seeing them getting their cars flipped over and potentially exploding, might make you feel a certain way or another way, depending.
But in the context of the MCU, the idea of the cops, a corrupt cop is the exception rather than.
the rule. They're supposed to be good cops.
Yeah. It's a fantasy world.
Yeah. So like
at a certain point you'd be like, she's doing a lot
of damage there. But I kind of
feel like in the wrap up and watching
the whole movie and having a thing about it for a little bit.
I'm like, well, she's supposed to be like
16, 17. But is she?
And she's a really, I think she is. I don't know
how old Sadie Singh is. Is she supposed to be younger than him?
Yes. I think she's like 23, 24.
I think she's supposed to be like 16, 17.
I don't know if that's true. I'm not saying
you're wrong. I just don't know.
And I think when they get to the X-Men, I wonder, we talked about this just before,
if they're going to have Cyclops and Gene Gray be mid-20s.
And then there is a younger cohort who are in school.
Well, they'll just do it.
Because there's teachers generally.
Yeah, they'll just fudge it.
But on my guess, based on the way she dresses and the way she acts and talks,
and the way they saw, I think in the movie they sort of pitch Peter Parker as kind of a wise older character to her.
I think the idea is she's supposed to be 16, 17, 17.
and she is just lashing out.
She's got these powers
and she doesn't really know how to use them productively.
And so she's just trying everything she can.
And she's kind of spiteful in the way that like a teenager is kind of thing.
Like an angry teenager will do mean stuff and then be like, oh, I regret this now.
Like realistically also, let's say she is 16 and 17.
Yeah.
We're not going to see an X-Men movie with her in like an actual X-Men team movie.
Several years.
Yeah.
So by that point, you can be like, oh, she went to school.
and then she came through it.
She went to school, she got a diploma.
Yep.
You know?
She got a tape certificate.
She's a carpenter now.
I mean, she seems very competent,
knows what she's doing,
but also she's reading everybody's minds all the time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But yeah, I also, like, Gene Gray is not,
like a purely good character.
Yeah.
Like a lot of X-Men.
I kind of, James, I'll say this.
I kind of support domestic terrorism
if it's the X-Men.
If it's the X-Men.
If it's the X-Men, if it's not, I'm against it.
You're saying if the X-Men did 9-11,
you're okay with that.
No, that was a...
international incident. Oh, that's true. That wasn't domestic, apparently. Yeah.
Yeah. So, yeah, I guess what's going to be interesting down the line as well is
Spider-Man made a mutant suppressing device. Correct. Which can work on any mutant. Really, anyone.
Anyone with powers. And then there's like a guy like Magneto who's like, I'll kill you for doing
that. Let me ask you this. So I can't recall in, he has, he has them suppressing device. He's got one
that works on anyone
and he doesn't use it on the Hulk
No
But at the end of the movie
Does it get destroyed?
Think so
Gene destroys it
Yeah, it's heliconia
Okay, yeah
I'm remembering now
Okay, I mean somebody will find his...
Somebody will hack his system and find his plan
He's got one that works specifically for him
Yep
And one that works for just anything
And anyone
Oh, that's the other big spoiler
The Department of Damage Control
If you can even believe this
They're actually on the side of the bad guys
How they do that?
No, they're there
So Gene Gray is looking for her sister because damage control abducted her.
Sarah Gray.
In the city.
Oh, in the park recently, the last, I don't know, a couple of years or whatever.
And she went missing.
She can't find her.
She's only got one clue and it's VMAX, which is a message.
A message.
It is in Australia.
It is the village maximum big screen.
But that is a clue that she, her sister is also a telepath sent to her.
That is the only clue.
and she knows it has something to do it.
Maybe even accidentally.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I would say that Trammell Tillman's character has the same disorder
that Mr. Paradox does in Deadpool and Wolverine, where he goes,
anyway, welcome to this room where we murdered your sister.
And she's like, oh, I'm mad about that, actually.
And he's like, oh, no, I've given the game away.
Probably shouldn't have done that.
Why don't do that?
Good thing she can only do this power that she has 33 feet,
and that will never develop beyond that.
Correct, yes.
It's a perfect scenario in a way.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
He's still alive though, isn't he?
He goes on the run at the end or whatever.
Yeah.
I think they mentioned him.
I think they mentioned it.
He got away.
He got away.
He's running around.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Amrissa Tomey appears as well than a flashback.
Correct.
A flashback, but also a mind hack.
Yes.
Where she tells Sadie.
The mind apartment.
To chill out.
A mine boys' room.
Is that a deage Tom Holland?
I feel like it is.
Yeah, a little bit.
Yeah.
Tweaked him.
They tweaked him to like Civil War era.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think the hairs a wig, but then they deage his face and hair.
Wow. Another little cameo in here is Black Widow, the new Black Widow,
who is the superior Black Widow in my opinion.
Uh-oh.
That's a fun moment.
Agreed.
Yelena works out of a bathhouse.
That is funny, yes.
Tom Mullen said that because he has to be, this is a reference we've seen in video games and whatever,
he has to wear his Spider-Man mask and just his underwear to go into the bath,
and he said he dehydrated for that.
So that is him?
Yeah.
Okay, great.
And he said it was.
He looks fit and he looks.
He looks tough. He looks great. But he said also it just didn't really work. It just made him really angry.
Because he was hot and dehydrated. Yeah, right, right. Which is pretty cool.
Little shout as well to Liza Colonszias, who is Jane DeWolf, the police detective.
The cop from the bear. Yeah, from the bear. Also, John Berthel. Yeah. Most famous, of course, for the storyline in the comics, The Death of Gene DeWolf. Spoilers.
Does she die?
Yes. Oh, no. Very much so. She gets shotied.
Okay.
A moment I liked in this, all the Punisher stuff is good.
It doesn't feel too watered down.
It only feels watered down in the sense that Spider-Man is making him not do.
Yeah.
And oftentimes, the only time he goes for a kill shot is someone he absolutely cannot kill like the Hulk.
Yeah, absolutely.
That's great.
The Punisher and Spider-Man teaming up to fight the Hulk.
Yeah, that's a classic combo.
That's a combo I've wanted to see for years.
And the Punish is just like, I don't want to do this.
Yeah.
I would rather not make you very much.
much.
How do you feel about the Hulk secret?
It's good to see the Savage Hulk back again.
And you know what I also liked about, well, I liked seeing the Hulk, obviously.
I liked the development and I don't know how I hope that this character development stays with the Punisher,
but the idea that he has been inspired somewhat by Spider-Man to not be as murderous or to be...
We'll see.
Yeah.
But I like their...
Yeah, they're great back and forth.
And at the end where he's like, you know, Spider-Man's been shot and he has to escape
by the punisher.
Oh, who shot him?
Yeah.
It was the punisher.
It was interesting.
So Spider-Man can be, like, hospitalized with a 50-caliber bullet.
Yeah, that would...
I think that's interesting to know.
Also, yeah, that's...
So, yeah, the gun he uses, I'm pretty sure is the Barrett, which is 50-caliber.
Yeah.
Which would...
That would destroy Gene Gray.
If that hit Gene Gray, there would be nothing left of her.
Have you seen the Miami Vice remake, the Colin Farrell...
Oh, like, years ago, yeah.
It opens with a sequence where a sequence where a...
two guys in a car, a shot with one of those repeatedly,
and they just disintegrate.
If you shot Gene Gray with that, this tiny little girl,
just a red-headed mist would be all that was left of her.
But Spider-Man, like, tanks one of those, I guess.
I guess it really just...
Also, it's so vague as to where he gets shot.
Where to hit him, yeah.
I guess...
Not in the head.
Not in the head.
Yeah.
I guess he's got that spider sense, that doesn't he?
Yeah.
Yeah.
What do you think was the point of him losing the ability to track Gene Gray?
Because he could just do it with his mask anyway
Because when he's mutating
He becomes more powerful and strong and angry
But not so angry that he can't overcome it
When he beats up the hand
That's a good sequence
Yeah, that's magic I guess
They're doing crouching tiger shit
Yeah, maybe, I don't know
That's different than Daredevil
I thought Daredevil was gonna be in this is not
Shame
That scene where it's Spider-Man
You know, Death from Above on the hands
In the trailer
I assumed Daredevil would be in that
But surprise he's not
Just empty space
They got us
They actually left some empty space in
They could have just put a CGI dead ever we wouldn't have even had a problem with it.
I'm here too.
But I was going to say after the Punisher shoots Spider-Man, I really enjoyed the bit where he's like, you know, they had to cut the suit off.
You have to leave in your civilian identity.
I've got a good idea and he puts the mascot.
And he's like, he's doing his Punisher anguish screams, but he's also giving the thumbs up.
And like, way, I like the idea that he's like, oh, Spider-Man actually inspires people and they want to see him.
Yeah.
He gets it.
Yeah, he gets it, you know.
John Berthel's a real odd guy
but I think he's a good actor
He's great, he's an odd guy, good actor
I think all the stuff with MJ
is really good as well
and the fact that it's revealed
that she doesn't remember anything about him
Let me ask you this though
Is that too close to Guardians of the Galaxy
And Gamora and Peter Quill?
I think it is but then it also
From that she seems open to the idea
of getting to know him
Whereas Gamora's just like a no
Yeah
That was a different person
For people who've forgotten
Gamora died
in
Guardians
no,
Infinity War.
And then the version
that Peter Quill meets
subsequently,
the one that's in
Guardians 3 is the one
from 2014.
2014.
And so she has no memory
of meeting Peter Quill.
And that was,
I was that was very,
yeah,
that was very interesting
because it's a sort of a,
they missed the window.
I thought that was very,
like that was a really
interesting way to do it.
Like it's,
you know,
that people have experienced that
where they meet someone
and they go,
oh,
I missed the window
to ask the man
on a date or something.
And now it's kind
And now they have to do a podcast together.
Exactly.
That's right.
But like to put a sort of sci-fi time travel spin on that.
Yeah.
Like that was very interesting.
And so it's similar to this.
Yeah.
Where some people have speculated James on the internet.
Okay.
That when Jean Grey, her powers increase and she can go into Peter Parker's mind and go to his mind palace.
Yeah.
That she took his memories of MJ and Ned and put them in their heads.
Oh, okay.
So because there seems, at the end of the movie, there seems to be a recollection.
that Ned certainly recognizes him.
Maybe it's muscle memory, but it seems like he remembers it.
You know what I think that is?
Yes.
And they mentioned this before I came out that one person remembers who he is.
And I thought initially it might be the Hulk.
It is the Hulk, though. He does.
Sort of?
Yeah.
That's also fudged a little bit because the Savage Hulk has never met Peter Parker.
Peter Parker, exactly.
Yeah.
But traditionally in the comic books, the Hulk remembers things of Peter Parker.
That Bruce Banner.
Yeah.
So it might just be that.
But my son who I saw this with who loved it
Oh, he's got a bit of a bit of scoop.
Well, we were talking about it
and we came to the realization that Ned is magic.
Yeah, he is, that's right.
So he might just, because it's a Doctor Strange spell
and he is magic.
So maybe that's why he can start to remember it.
Yeah, maybe.
Yeah.
But I think it's fine if like,
I think they will eventually be like,
MJ remembers everything or whatever.
She saw a TV with the memories on it.
Yeah.
I think they will.
I think I, because the thing about it obviously is
you can't just,
And we've talked about this before.
You can't just, they did it in the previous one in No Way Home.
They're like, how is the universe, how are we going to, how are we going to hand wave away the idea that Spider-Man may be killed Mysterio?
Well, we did.
You know, that was kind of, but it's harder to do that with this character doesn't, this character magically doesn't remember Peter Parker.
If you, if you just undo that in this movie, it's, it's too, it's too much of a cop out.
But if they take a couple of movies to do it, like if they start the next.
one and they're dating again and they've had new memories and maybe, you know, it's a little vague.
It's like that Channing Tatum Rachel McCadams movie. I've got my memories Channing Tatum,
but we're dating or whatever. I don't have my memories. You've made that up. You've made
that movie up. Real movie. Okay. If you say so. I only know them as Gambit and the lady from
Dr. Strange. That's all I know them as. Okay. But I think in the next one, if they're more or less
on the same track romantically as in the previous movies,
people will be like, we're okay with that now.
Yeah.
You know, I also like...
But if you did it immediately, people would be like cop out.
They'd be mad about it.
They'd be mad about it.
I liked that also she, he was like, he poured his heart out and was like, I love you and whatever.
It was also cruel old Jean Grey.
She doesn't remember you at all.
Yeah, I made this up.
I made this up.
You dork.
And you kissed her embarrassing for you.
And she's just like, I don't fucking know you, man.
I thought that was really...
Also, he waited too long.
He definitely did.
Four years?
Was it four?
Because they were there graduating college.
That's like three or four years.
I'm like, you waited too long.
Agreed.
You should have waited until she got into some sort of trouble
because the love interest in these sort of things
always get into some sort of falling off a building situation, you know,
and just rescued as Spider-Man and then being like, by the way, I'm Peter Parker.
And we had this relationship, no pressure, no pressure.
But as you can see, I'm Spider-Man and weird stuff happens.
And there was a whole memory magic thing.
Yep.
What I might do is I might visit Doctor Strange
and see if there's any developments on the,
erasing everybody's memory situation.
Yeah.
Maybe he can fix that maybe.
Or not.
Yeah.
Don't even worry about it.
Or Gene Gray could do it.
Maybe Jean Grey could do it.
Maybe she's already done it.
Hey, Gene Gray, I'll betray my friends over to the Department of Damage Control if you get M. James of memory back.
Do some of those memories for us.
Make sure she's got the hots for me.
Make sure she's keen as a bean.
Just to be clear, that is important.
That's the most important thing.
That's right.
Memories whatever, but the hots thing.
That's right.
There is, of course, a post credits for this.
Yes.
And it's that there is a spider tracker in New York.
Yes.
I assume that works because it's just when people see Spider-Man, they register it.
I think it is, but I think the implication towards the end is that Ned put a tracking device in his suit.
Oh, okay.
Because it wouldn't work in the...
In space?
In space.
Well, that's what I mean.
Unless Peter Quill has seen him.
Yeah.
And it has the spider tracking app.
Now, I'm not even confident that Sony knows what happened here.
Sure.
But it's not even, you don't even actually see it.
So it's the app, it's like a 16-bill app.
app and you can find out where Spider-Man is.
And it goes past the moon
and find Spider-Man.
So for me, it comes down to like...
To the moon and back.
The Moon and back, thank you.
He might have gone, you've referenced a thing
we haven't talked about in this podcast.
Correct, yes.
It's a video we already recorded.
That's just for you.
I don't want it.
Okay, fine.
I reject it.
Fine, good.
That Spider-Man goes off world,
which makes sense because of Secret Wars or whatever.
Or it's a different Spider-Man.
Yeah, right.
That's a Miles Morales or a Toby McGuire or whatever.
Miles Morales doing.
past the moon.
I don't know.
He's coming in.
Coming in hot from another dimension.
Also, what's that detecting?
Just spider-looking guys.
Yeah, why didn't it detect the guy from
Lady Spider-Man movie?
What was that called?
Why didn't it detect Sporn?
He looks kind of like Spider-Man.
No, he doesn't.
Yes, he does.
He looks a bit like Spider-Man.
That's what I'm saying.
Why didn't it detect Venom?
Maybe Venoms in orbit.
Maybe he's gotten in one of his crazy situations.
Venom.
Tom Hardy Venom.
Tom Hardy Venom.
But they've also talked about how, like,
Tom Holland's plan is to pass this on to another person and whatever.
I think you've got a couple of movies left in you, mate.
Oh, definitely.
Yeah.
Well, he's just gotten started, really.
You're only just Spider-Man after 10 years and hundreds of billions of dollars.
Exactly.
Should we do some reviews from people who have written in?
Let's do some reviews.
This is from Jessica who says, I really enjoyed it.
Holland at his best and Holland Spider-Man at his best.
And he really feels like he is the Spider-Man, the Spider-Man to me now.
Good action, good story, good direction and good villain motivation.
easily best movie ever.
Can I jump in there?
Sure.
Just for a moment.
I just remembered.
And we talked about it briefly, but it was nice to see Marissa Tamay back.
Oh, yeah.
And what I liked about it is the, you know, obviously Jean Gregg goes into Spider-Man's mind
and he sees that there are people like Aunt May who support him and would therefore support
her and she learns that lesson and blah, blah, blah.
And Peter Parker's like, I'll be a friend, et cetera.
But it also bridged that gap between Spider-Man Homecoming and Spider-Man.
Spider-Man far from home where she discovers that he's Spider-Man, and then the second movie's
just like, whatever.
Whatever, I guess we're, I guess, everybody's on board with this, that we actually saw
the emotional moment where she's like, I support you, et cetera.
Unlike you're deadbeat uncle Ben, who maybe is still alive and it's Adam Scott.
Yeah, man.
Is it?
Maybe.
Absolutely.
Yeah, exactly.
Or he's in prison.
If you're paying attention, yeah, you're like, oh, that's the, that's right after she
found out what he's up to.
Yes.
Jack says I loved it
This felt like a combination
of what they've built up.
Peter won to be over the trilogy.
It took a long time
but it's paid off in spades.
This is the most true
to the character Peter Parker
has ever felt on screen.
Love our Tom was flexing
the Queen's accent.
Yeah, he is more New York now.
New York, baby.
That's fun.
Neil says, just out of similar reaction,
absolutely loved it.
Little Tom Old Holland
best outing by a mile.
Yeah.
I feel like my opinion of this
is not going to change
as much as the last one.
Yes, correct.
Well, it's less kind of gimmicky.
It is less gimmick, yeah.
David Peng says,
what a terrific movie.
The way B&D handles the consequences
of a nowhere home is just brilliant.
With compassion and caring
and a real love for these characters.
This is the best love action,
Spidey in all the best ways.
Pam says,
saw it in a completely sold-out screen
and absolutely bloody loved it.
I laughed, I cried,
I gaffed, bloody brilliant.
And Aidan, a lysing says,
best movie ever,
Destin Daniel Cretton's direction,
action, web swinging and needle drops,
and Tom Olin's care for the character
really pay off in the century.
Daniel, Destin' Dest and Daniel Cretton.
you're no creton to me you're not destined to be a cretan in our mind that's right
daniel you're not destined to be a cretan yeah cool yeah it's good to see a good movie it's nice
to see a good movie it's nice to see a big a big good movie and again they haven't just churned out
a turd yep no churding here yeah turd churning marbles official turd churners you've failed this time
around we got up your things we got you pack up all your churning devices pack up your big churner
we don't need you anymore we don't need it yeah
Let's move it along.
Let's move it along.
I wish I knew what we could talk about, though.
We could talk about what we're reading and what we're going to read.
Let's talk about that now.
Okay.
I'm doing a thing.
We're reading today.
All right, Mason.
Hello.
This is where we talk about things I've been reading, watching, doing, listening to.
That's right.
And my viewing this week a little thin on the ground,
but I just remembered I watched a great video from our friend Chris over at Comic Trobes.
And it's where he tierlisted all the Marvel editors in chief.
from like timely comics onwards.
But he had an interesting idea.
He didn't have any interesting ideas.
He had a very interesting idea at the end.
And it got me thinking.
It's a question for you and for me.
And the entire human race.
But also the listeners who are included in that.
We pointed out like it was essentially a suggestion for like future Marvel editors in chief.
And it was that he, and it's a good idea.
It's that he, they should have better compensation for people who create characters.
for Marvel.
Yeah.
So it got me thinking about...
Do you mean from now on?
Yeah, from retroactively.
I mean, retroactively, yes, but also from now on.
Because I've been thinking about it, what is...
And this is a question for you and for me, and the entire human race, and the listeners.
Yeah.
What is the most recently created Marvel character in the comic books that has made it to the movies?
Major character, I would say Ms. Marvel would have to be up there?
Yep.
So I thought of Miss Marvel, the Century.
When was that?
But see, that's the thing.
So Kamala Khan, she debuted in 2013.
Yeah, that feels right.
And the century debuted, I would say earlier than that.
I'm going to guess 2010 maybe.
Yeah.
2000, sorry.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Yeah, that's ages ago.
Okay, that's a million years ago.
Who else?
Elena Belova.
Well, some of them also debut in the movies and they put them in the comics.
That's true.
We're not talking about that.
No, no, no, no.
Because what it got me thinking was,
these characters have,
well, like, is there anything more recent than these characters?
Because the thing is that I think Marvel at some point,
the MCU, is going to run out of characters to adapt.
Because if you're someone who is writing or illustrating for comic books,
you have the choice now of you work for Marvel
and you debut a character for Marvel.
But you get to keep that character, don't you?
No, you don't Marvel takes it.
Oh my God.
I didn't know.
And they kick you in the ass.
And you come to the Winter Soldier premiere and even though you invented that character
and they'll kick you in the ass.
There's another one.
Bucky as the Winter Soldier.
Obviously he was created a long time ago.
Completely different.
But that's,
that's,
I just got some more here.
So Miles Morales was 2011.
He also hasn't been live actioned yet.
Yeah.
America Chavez was 2011 as well.
But more recently.
Yes.
Ironheart was from 2016.
There you go.
But she didn't get her own movies.
She got a TV show before that she was in.
That's correct.
And Winter Soldier was two.
Like he was Winnisold was 2005.
So because back in the olden days,
if you were a comic book creator and you had an interesting idea for comics,
your only avenue really was one of the big two comics creators.
So like Marvel or DC and then it was only the debut of really of Image comics.
Yes.
That let comic creators go,
I've got an idea for a comic book.
I'll do that.
And so like I wonder if in future...
They're shooting themselves in the foot?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think you're right.
Or I wonder the future for Marvel if they want to, you know, because so many of the classic characters are, comic book creators are creating new iconic characters.
You think of Invincible, people like that.
Yeah.
But I think maybe Marvel in future might have to just like start buying image characters and rolling them in.
And that might be like, you know, maybe, you know, you get Robert Kirkman and you go, hey, we'll give you X millions of dollars to integrate.
and then he's finished with a character
so he's like to, you know, invincible or whatever.
Yeah, but we don't care.
Yeah.
Yeah, so I watched another video
actually ages ago about Todd McFarlane.
So Todd McFarlane most famously known for Sporn
because when he left Marvel,
he created Image Comics with a bunch of other guys
and his first debuted character was Sporn.
But he created that character when he was a teenager
with his girlfriend who then became his wife.
So he had that character in the back pocket.
But he never took it to...
No, when he was working with DC,
then Marvel, then DC then Marvel.
He could have made that character
appear in when he was writing the Spider-Man book.
Yeah.
Like debuted it and then gotten a Marvel Spawn book.
Yeah.
And then it might have sold 2 million copies or 5 million copies or whatever,
but he would have gotten nothing for that.
So he just decided to...
Like he's always been like that, though.
He's always been ahead of trends and like finite
and monetizing his own work or whatever.
It's probably the thing he does best.
Agreed, yeah.
Which is not an insult.
No, that's he doing.
he's doing a great job with that.
But yeah, and that's another question.
So that would be my question for the listeners.
And also the question would be,
because I would love to know,
if you're a modern day Marvel reader,
if you consistently read all the Marvel books,
what are some characters that have debuted
in Marvel comics in the last five or ten years
that you think would make a good,
you know, would slot in well in the MCU?
Yeah.
Because I've got to wonder if they're running dry of like characters.
I would also love,
And this is literally impossible to know the answer to.
But I would love to know how many independent comic book creators
who are creating superhero characters for, say, image or Dark Horse or something like that,
how many of them considered pitching them to Marvel or DC and went, no.
Why would I do this?
I could.
Like, you know, like people who create, Invincible is obviously one,
you know, radiant black, you know, these kind of characters who were like,
yeah, I would love to see these characters interact with Spider-Man.
But then they went, but also if they made them into a movie character.
I would get nothing for that.
I would get the kick in the ass.
Yeah, which is great on the day.
Yeah, exactly.
On the red carpet, you know?
Yeah, absolutely.
He's kicking you in the ass.
Fun.
Avi Arad's there.
He's come back specifically to kick you in the ass.
Amy Pascal's kicking you in the ass.
You fall into Zendaya?
Yeah.
And she tumbles over and then kicks you in the ass.
Tom Holland kicks you in.
Tom Holland's kicking you in the ass.
He's mad about it.
One day though.
Yeah.
That's almost worth it, isn't it?
Almost.
It's almost worth it to see your character, you know,
get made into a billion-dollar movie character.
you get nothing.
You get a kick of the ass.
You get multiple kicks in the ass.
That's interesting.
We've read very different things, Mason.
Yes.
I got an email here that I got sent to me from YouTube.
Says, hi, Mr. Sunday movies.
After reviewing your appeal, Warner Chapel has confirmed that your video contains copyright
material that hasn't been approved for use in your video.
Video titled, Gods of Egypt, Caravan of Garbage.
Wow.
Copyright content set versus Horace, claimed by Warner Chapel.
Water Chapel wants to give you the opportunity
to cancel your appeal within seven days.
Cancelling your appeal will return your video
to the state that it was before you began the dispute.
Now, was Warner Chapel owned by Warner Brothers?
Yes.
Okay, right.
That's right.
I assume so.
It's a co-production of Warner Brothers and Chapel Rowan, I assume.
So these are my options.
I can cancel my appeal.
So it says if you've changed your mind,
you can cancel the appeal and the claim in your video will remain.
Please note that you won't be able to appeal this claim again.
That also means that any money that this video is made will now go to Warner Chapel Rhone.
Right, yeah.
My second option is delete the video.
Delete this video forever to avoid getting a copyright strike.
If no action is taken, your video will be taken down from YouTube on August 7, 2026,
and a copyright strike will be applied to your account.
By the way, if you get three, you get channel deleted.
Forever, yeah.
If you still believe that you have the rights to use this material,
you can file a counter-notification, which I've already done twice, after that date.
Wow.
After the strike is already in place.
Why this can happen.
The copyright owner disagrees with your dispute,
but it is giving you the chance to keep your video on YouTube,
which they can earn money on.
Terrific.
The reason you gave for disputing the claim may have been insufficient or invalid.
Thanks, the YouTube team.
I'm fucking sick of the...
You get these every day now.
Every day.
Every video I get put up,
I think there's some new AI system that is just ripping through YouTube,
and I know it's not just me.
No, of course not.
It's just, it's a, it's big creators as well.
Yeah, and like, do I...
It's notable creators as well.
Come on, man.
Come on, man.
No, I got you.
And the thing is like, I know it's a privilege to do this job.
I understand all of this.
They normally don't go this far.
They normally step back.
I was like fucking gods of Egypt.
Are you serious?
It's because, I think it's, I mean, is AI obviously, but I think these corporations now,
because people don't buy DVDs and they don't have that particular revenue stream,
somebody has gone, you need to find.
find another revenue stream and the easiest one is copyright strike a bunch of people and get
their revenue for their videos.
Yep.
Even though, and expecting that most people will go, ah, whatever, it's fine, you can, you know.
It's also like a five second clip.
Yeah.
And it's the music from that clip that we use that's in the background while we're talking
over it.
Right.
Also, I should clarify to people, it's under fair use because it's a review.
Yes.
And what's also really annoying is YouTube just does not give you the benefit of the day.
out. I've said this before. I've been on YouTube since
2011. My first channel was
deleted in 2014. So this is
the second one. Because it was cruel content. Because it was cruel content.
But there was false, and I couldn't
get it back. But like, YouTube
isn't like, oh, this guy's been on here
for 12 years. How many followers
did you have? I had like 10 or
20,000 then. Okay, all right. Yeah.
But YouTube's not like, you know what?
He's probably not just uploaded an entire
movie. Yeah. And sometimes
they just do. Yeah, exactly.
There's no benefit of the doubt. And you know,
what will happen after all of this, so I'll probably
I'll get the thing, and then I'll appeal it
and it'll probably get rejected anyway, and maybe this video
will get deleted forever. I don't know. I don't
really care about the video,
even though, you know, it costs
a bunch of money to get made in time.
But like,
there's no, if I get it back,
I won't, I'll barely get any revenue
from it because it's been gutted already.
Yeah. And also,
there's no consequence for them.
There's consequences for me. I didn't
even fucking do anything. Yeah.
And,
Why am I?
Because I know why.
There's a corporation and whatever.
And they're wasting your time.
Yeah,
because, again,
we're allowed to do this because it's a review.
Like,
reviewing is transformative for the purposes of,
you know,
making this video.
And they know that.
Yeah.
But it is just a time wasting thing.
So what,
in a,
in a just world,
what would happen is whoever's overseeing this
would go,
you've wasted this YouTube channel's time.
You can't do this again.
We're disallowing you from doing this.
Yeah.
You know,
this is,
frivolous and you like in a court of law if you frivolously you know did all these lawsuits
against people you'd probably be banned from doing that and they would make you pay court costs
and the you know the opposing person's costs and etc but there's no system for that here
exactly so i just got to ride this out so i also i contacted youtube which i've done that before
and they'll just be like we did everything we can and it's and i'm like can i speak to an actual
person. I don't know if you're real, can you just
put me on to somebody? And they're like, no, we
can't. So, anyway,
great, really good and fine. It's great
and good and fun. I love it. Yeah. Thank you so
much to YouTube and to Warner Chapel Rhone.
Yeah. Also, again,
I'm getting every
video, like the last video... You're getting reamed, James.
Yeah, the last video I put up was
Lunitunes back in action Caravanagh Garbage.
Immediately,
oh, not immediately, sorry. It's a few hours
later. Yeah. It's now
limited ads on it.
God's a beat to the one before that, Carabanda garbage tank.
Roger Rabbit didn't.
It's shocking.
Yeah.
But yeah, Jason the Argonauts got hit.
The Flash got hit.
Everybody involved in that movie's dead.
I know.
Wow.
It's just every day.
And if it's not a new video, it's an old video.
And it's clearly just these systems just...
And if it's not an old video, it's a bold video.
That's true.
Yeah.
It's fucking annoying.
It is annoying.
Yeah.
And again, it would be fine.
I would be fine with if there were consequences.
Like if...
For you?
No.
For you?
I didn't do anything.
For you.
I didn't do anything.
For you.
Consequences for you.
Yeah.
The flash right, that came out June 25th and that went through this whole process.
It didn't get to the strike.
And I finally got it cleared for now.
Yeah.
And the money hasn't even, I don't even know how much money it's going to earn because it goes,
we'll let you know on August 15th how much money this made.
Great.
If any.
Yeah.
Cool.
Great.
What if that was the only video I'd put out?
Yeah.
It's not.
No.
But anyway, it's a, it's a complaint of, it's in a very privileged position.
I understand that and whatever, annoying.
But it'd be annoying.
Like, it's, it's, yeah, it's like if you had a regular job and there was just somebody
poking you every day and being like, I'm going to take all your wages away.
I don't know.
There is no metaphor for it.
At least if they were poking me every day, I could hit them in the head with something.
That's true.
Like a brick or a rock or a hole punch.
Well, let me tell you, all I'll say, James is good luck, babe.
Chapel Rowan song.
Thanks, man.
I had to look one up, but I knew that one.
You did good work.
Thanks, man.
just then, just now.
Yeah.
Should we move to the next segment of the show?
Let's move to the next segment of the show.
I should say also, James, and I'm not going to mention it this week,
but I'm just started reading a novel, but I'm only like three pages in.
But I'll tell you about it next week.
Hopefully I will finish it this week.
I would love you to tell me what that is right now.
I'm not going to tell you.
It's a secret.
Fine.
Secret.
You're going to like it, though.
Maybe even you'll read it.
I won't read it.
It's your biography.
I'd probably read that.
Especially if I didn't write it?
Yeah.
I want to know what's in it.
It's called Mr. Sunday Mervy's number one turturning.
I doubt on the number one.
Well, that's your ego talking.
Anyway, it's time for letters, so I'll play the letters then.
That's great.
It is great.
I was big sarcastic.
Your famous character sarcastic.
Do you see that Avengers Armageddon, Tony Stark goes to jail?
Which means he probably loses his company or whatever again.
and then he'll have to build a new ironman.
It's a low-tech iron man suit in prison,
and then he'll get his company back.
It's made out of a porcelain sink at a toilet sprocket or something.
Exactly right.
This is the new comic book event, the Marvel.
Avengers Armageddon.
Avengers Armageddon, okay, yeah.
I'm sort of tangentially aware of it.
I'm not at all.
Okay.
In terms of letters,
you can reach the show by going into the Planet Broadcasting Greatmates group
and there's a thread,
or send Nick Mason a Gmail to weekly planet pod at gmail.com
Nick Mason.
Ain't that the truth?
Cares about your feelings.
Here's an email from Aiden.
Aiden.
Who says,
When do you go full nerd around normal people?
Never.
Let me finish, James.
Hi, James and Mason.
How do you each determine
how much you know about comics,
comic book movies at all the box office
economics to normal people?
After seeing Spider-Man Brand New Day with my cousins,
I thought about explaining how even though
Morbius, Craven and Venom are all Spider-Man villains,
those movies aren't technically part of the mainline MCU,
but once I realized I would have to explain
the Sony Marvel deal or the multiverse,
I stopped myself.
How do you know when to go full nerd
with normal people in your lives.
Never is the answer.
Never, unless they ask specifically.
And then I'm constantly like, do you actually want to do this?
The example here would be if somebody says, hey, isn't Venom a Spider-Man character,
why are they separate?
I might then go.
And this is also, this is the guys of a business thing.
So I guess I could say, well, a long time ago, like, I've got a lot of standard spiels also.
I would go like many years ago, Marvel the comic company, they were on the verge of going bankrupt as they always were.
And they made a deal with Sony for the Spider-Man.
And I'd explain that whole bit.
And like, so Sony still has, you know, control over the Spider-Man and, you know, the characters, whatever.
Yeah.
And so that's a, that's a fun thing you can do.
Absolutely.
You know, but like, but I'm not, I'm not opening with that.
I'm not opening with that on a date.
I see what they know.
Yeah.
And then what they're interested in.
No, I get on it.
Correct, yes.
And I'll go from there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is true.
I was at my son's basketball game.
Oh, yeah.
And one of the other parents said,
they asked about the new Spider-Man movie and I saw it or whatever.
And they go, how many of them are there?
And I did it on this side just went and I was like, well, there's two animated ones.
And they did like that.
I know.
I know.
I know.
But it was someone I knew as well.
So I knew, but there are also other people around.
You go, James, what you go?
You go, boy, there's a lot of them, isn't there?
Hey, was there one with that guy?
It was that guy.
Toby something?
Toby Holland. Toby?
What, who am I thinking of? And they go, Toby McGuire,
and he go, yeah, love those.
Love those movies.
I did it because this guy knows me.
And also because I thought it would be funny.
But then afterwards, somebody said,
oh, isn't any good.
I'm like, you know, it's Spider-Man.
I literally said he crawls around and he does karate.
Because, like, I was this,
which is not what I think Spider-Man is.
I think he also, he does his own version of martial arts
that he actually takes advantage of his unique spider physiology.
I know that, obviously.
Oh, do you?
You know now because I told you, didn't you?
I think my literal words were he crawls around in pajamas and does karate.
So it's a Spider-Man movie.
Because, you know, I don't want to be like, well, this is the fourth Tom Holland, Spider-Man.
It's a new era of Spider-Man, blah, blah, blah.
I was like, yeah, you can take your kids, it's fucking Spider-Man.
It'll be fine.
Yeah.
They've got to put a sequence in where he turns into Man Spider.
But they're not doing that.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
He'd have four extra arms coming out.
Partially, this is based on the stories.
Spider-Man brand new day where the devil makes
Spider-Man get divorced. But also Spider-Man
the other, which is where he's the Spider-Man
Spider-A and another one by the current moment it's called
Let's look it up together. Are you familiar with Frank
Castle? He's more commonly known as
The Punisher, you know this? Yeah.
There's been four live-action
incarnation. Did you see the fan films
Punisher Dirty Launders? Did you see that?
The Dofland in 80s version is people don't
think it's a traditional Punisher film in many
senses, but in a lot of ways it is.
You see his butt in it.
Yep.
And it's so true
So no I don't do that at all
What a world
It would be if we did though
Some people do
Which is fine
Special interest
Also
This is not really anywhere
To have that conversation
It's here
Exactly
That's why we have this podcast
You can't even do it
In a comic book
I have these comments
Because all these people
Will be like yeah we know
Yeah exactly
Well I know less than you
And I have your guts
I have those conversations
With you every week
So I don't need to
That's true
Start a podcast
Get it all out on a podcast
Exactly
Or get a friend
And corner him
Get a friend
Good tip.
And corner him.
Corner him.
Or her?
That's right.
Sounds ominous.
But, uh, yeah.
Anyway, Spider-Man does crawl around his pajamas and do karate.
I stand by it.
That is funny.
That's a funny thing to say.
Funny and unsuspiciously generic.
That's what we like.
Paul says, Marvel is getting big on the X-Men to save the superhero genre and bring audiences back.
Do you think it will work?
Being audiences back?
Yeah.
All right.
If you say so.
Do you think it'll work?
The X-Men movies are well-liked, but none, except Deadpool and Wolverine.
ever cracked a billy.
Thanks for everything you do.
Listening to the pod has kept me going through some tough times.
You're welcome, but if anything, you've got us through some tough times.
That's right.
Unless you're sending me YouTube notifications to take down my videos.
Are you Chapel Rowan?
Is your name an anagram of Chapel Rowan?
Is it?
Yeah, could be.
Paul Spooner, Chapel Rowan.
Maybe.
I can't do that in my head.
I don't know whether it will be...
I don't know, I guess is the answer.
But yeah, they never have cracked a Billy except for Deadpool and Wolverine.
but this time around the X-Men are bigger
than like they've had X-Men original cartoon
and there's other ones from the time.
But you know, the famously,
and then the movies,
and then a reboot of the movies,
and now Deadpool,
and now we're slowly introducing new mutant characters.
I think, yeah,
there's a very good possibility these will be big.
I don't think the first one will crack a Billy,
but maybe down the line.
I think probably, you know, a young cast.
Yeah,
cool cast. We'll bring in younger
viewers. I think that, you know, as
we've learned from, you know, backrooms, obsession, etc.
You know, people want that. I don't.
No. I want things that I've seen before, but worse.
Do you think we are going to get, as I mentioned, like,
just earlier, the idea of, you know, new,
because there's, I would say there's, there's been plenty,
in the last few years, there's been plenty of new X-Men in the comic books.
Yeah. Like, there's always a new slate of new guys running around.
I wonder, are they, is Marvel, is the MCU going to just do
classic X-Men lineups again and again.
They are.
But I would recommend, just give us a couple of new guys.
Give us a couple of new guys with weird abstract powers, you know?
You don't have to give us, I mean, you're going to give us.
But you don't have to.
No, you don't have to.
Yeah.
No.
New guys.
I was just looking, the highest X-Men film that's not a Deadpool movie is Days of Future
Past, which made $746,000.
Right.
Like.
$746,000.
Yeah.
Wow.
It's actually a low amount of money.
But I don't know.
But also they've done a lot of these stories.
Are we going to do Dark Phoenix again?
I mean, Auntie Donna did.
That's true.
They did wonderfully if you want to check out their channel.
Absolutely.
They recreate the Dark Phoenix storyline, narrative movie.
What else?
I don't know.
What do you think?
Yes.
Okay.
Done.
Yes.
And then they'll fight the Avengers.
Oh, they're already doing that.
But they'll do it again.
Brady emails to say.
Tom Brady?
No.
Why did you do that extra year of football?
You ruined your life, dumbass.
He says he just felt like it.
Did you know I was going to say that?
Yeah, he says, I love of the football.
Brady from Rhode Island here, home of Tom Brady.
Sure.
Just wanted to let James know for 400 pounds
he could get the ejection costume from sunshine.
If you got a prop store.com.
The big robot.
No, it's just like, hang on, I'll show it to you.
The big golden Kenny suit.
Yeah.
For how much?
400 pounds.
That can't be right.
Let's have a look.
It'd be worth way more than that.
Hang on.
I mean, parts alone.
Yeah, hang on.
Oh, it's more like, I'll show you.
I'll show it to you.
Show me.
Okay, I'll show it to you.
I'm waiting.
I'm sitting right here, man.
Okay, I just got to give you a clickable link.
It's this, this thing.
Oh, it's not the big, no, it's not the Kenny one.
No, it's the one they wrap up in to, uh, they improv.
To escape.
To escape.
It's, uh, 345 pounds.
Nah, not that one.
It's not even an auction.
It's just out of the car.
You could buy this.
What would I do with that?
Wear it.
Wear it on your adventures.
And people would ask you.
exculpades and your sex
capades. No. I'm not up to
anything. I'll have you know. All right. But
in addition to that, do you think
if I did wear that, people would ask? It's
been, it was worn by Troy Garrity.
The actor Troy Garrity. I know. It just looks like
you're wrapped in garbage. Yep.
Listen, Tom Brady.
I think it includes the boots. Yeah, I mean, that's good. What size
are they? Um,
size 10.
It's too small. Yeah. No, I
my feet are small than that. But I want you
know, they're also very narrow.
They've got narrow thing. Long and narrow.
No. Smaller and narrow. Just small and narrow,
baby. All right. Okay. That's how I
do it. Hell yeah, brother. Yeah, brother.
No, thank you, Tom Brady. I hope you bounce back.
It says he won't. So he got divorced.
Did he know what I was going to say that? Yeah, he said,
thanks for your well wishes, but I'm done.
Can you please tell him I don't want to hang out with him?
Like every other divorce daddy wants to hang out with me.
He says that's fine. He doesn't
want to hang out with you either.
This is from Lars.
Oh, and the real girl?
Was it a mistake to keep Sadie Singh's character a secret?
We're not going to spoil this here.
To me, the reveal in the movie wasn't that big of a deal,
but having Sadie Sync deflect every question about her character for the past year or so
wasn't the best promotional strategy.
It's probably annoying for her.
Yeah, I bet.
I think revealing the character's actual name would have made people more excited and probably
gotten even more people into cinemas.
I honestly don't think it matters because that character is not as big as Spider-Man.
Correct.
I ultimately think it probably was a waste of time.
I've seen some people say they should have just openly said
who Sadie Singh's character was
and maybe left the Hulk reveal.
Yeah, but Hulk does get people in, I feel.
That's probably true, yeah.
Spider-Man fighting the Hulk is like, whoa, man.
Whoa, man.
But in all honesty, Lars and the real girl, I don't know.
Yeah, me neither. I don't know nothing.
Yeah.
I do know Spider-Man crawls around his pajamas and does party, though.
Ain't that the truth, brother?
Ain't that the truth?
He's an email.
That's all I know about Spider-Man.
That's right.
Ask me if I know anything else.
Ask me any questions.
Do you know Spider-Man personally?
Yes.
Wow!
Can I meet him?
There's a photo on my Instagram.
I did meet Spider-Bad.
It's true you did.
Yeah, well.
At the Melbourne premiere.
Wow.
How did he smell?
Like shit.
Wow.
Okay.
I guess he's fighting a lot of crime.
He's sweating up for Stormlaced.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
This is an email from Hendrick.
Hello, mates, I take my son to daycare in the mornings,
and a few weeks ago, he asked, this is his 8-year-old,
Jimmy Hendrick, in the mornings,
and a few weeks ago, he asked if instead of music,
we could listen to that thing where two people are talking,
but they're not on the phone or in the car.
I figured he meant a podcast, so I put one on, and he didn't say anything else.
Fast forward to this week, I put on the weekly planet,
and he said, oh, finally, this is the one I like, the weekly planet.
Oh, my God.
He then proceeded to sing the opening theme for the rest of the day.
Anyway, he's a big fan now, so I guess could you say hello to Ollie
and make him the official best Sonic player of the podcast?
Hell yeah.
And I also want to be clear, Ollie, you said we're not in the phone or in the car.
We are in the trunk of the car.
That's right.
We're in the trunk of the car.
And you might be like, oh, I'll let these guys out.
No.
No, we want to.
We want to be in the trunk of the car.
We might even beg.
Yeah.
Do not let us out of the car.
You do not want that.
Yeah, that's everyone will regret it.
Yeah.
Help.
Help, we're in the truck of the car.
That was a test.
Do not let us out.
Yeah.
We're in Hendrick and Ollie's car.
Let us out of the car.
Of the trunk of the car.
Yes, right now.
Let us out right now.
Stop, pull over, open the trunk of the car.
We're in there.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
It's a trick from us.
Yeah, that's right.
We tricked you.
And congratulations on being the best Sonic player.
That's right.
That's incredible.
For now.
This is from Paul who says, James, this applies to you as well, Mason.
If you couldn't make podcasts or videos anymore, what would you do for a living instead?
I would be the real life he-man.
Wow.
Yeah.
But I was going to be the real-life skeletor, but not the real-life skeletal.
No, Mason.
No.
You don't want to be real real Skeletor.
You don't want to be real Skeletor.
Yeah.
Wow.
What would I do?
I don't know.
I'd try to do something in creative.
Oh, yeah.
Write something, look at something.
You could look at something.
Maybe I'd get good at painting.
Maybe I'd direct the best movie ever made.
Wow.
Yeah.
Probably something like that.
Yeah.
Or I'd be Heemann.
Yeah.
I mean, I already have a regular job, so.
Is it being he man?
Yeah.
The Skeletor.
But not the real life.
No, not the real Skeletor.
What would you do?
If you couldn't be in the videos.
Oh, yeah.
Which you don't send to Ben or Lawrence or anybody else involved.
Correct.
Would you just do your job that you automatically do?
Would you just guest on Matt Stewart podcast for the rest of your life?
I might do that.
Yeah, there you go.
Is this assuming we used to do podcasts and now we...
You can still do things in society.
Right, okay.
I'm assuming it's not you didn't do cancelled guys down.
Yeah, right, right.
I don't know.
That would give me some free time.
Yeah, for sure, man.
I do my regular job.
Mm-hmm.
And I guess I would still.
priceless artifacts from museums and stuff.
And you'd get away with it, right?
I'd get away with it.
Yeah.
And I would keep them.
Okay, good.
Yeah.
People would be like, would you sell them?
Would you give them back to the original owners?
No.
I'd keep them.
Yeah.
Would you let me look at them?
No.
Nah.
That's fair enough.
Just leave them around the house, I reckon.
Yeah, yeah.
Might be like put them in a secret vault.
Nah.
To leave them around the house.
Yeah.
And if people ask about them, just say they're fake.
Yeah.
Here's a fake, actually.
It's not the real Mona Lisa.
It's right.
Yeah.
Go on, though.
Oh, here's one, Marima, this from Nile.
Niles.
Hey, guys, just wondering what your thoughts are
on how everyone loves to say,
we also love to say this,
that there are no movie stars in modern times,
but also love to say that the same actors crop up
in too many movies.
It just feels like people love complaining,
we do, about the state of the modern cinema landscape
in either direction.
Like, you can't complain that Zendaya,
Tom Holland, Timothy Shalameh, Florespew,
Robert Patton, Austin, Butler,
Pedro Piscale, Sydney, Sweeney, etc.,
are too oversaturated
and also turn around and complain about
how we used to have movie stars,
things used to be better.
That's literally what movie stars are.
Yeah, not wrong.
I would argue that most of the names I just listed are way more likely to get butts in seats than Tom Cruise,
whoever everyone says is the only movie star.
Got him.
Got his ass.
That's right.
He has had one successful movie in the 2020s and we aren't going to get another Maverick.
Digger might end up being good, but it's not going to be Maverick.
Just wondering what you guys think.
I would also argue that a lot of these...
I mean, are they box office draws the way the movie stars used to be.
Is that what people are talking about, though?
Yes, more monetarily.
Yeah, I mean, what I think also is that these...
This famous dudes and duets...
Many of these people...
are, yes, they are box office drawers, but I would say there's been a gap.
Yeah, okay.
Everybody here is a relatively recent, like in the last 10 years, kind of.
Yeah.
Because what I think there, when people say there were no movie stars anymore,
and I've said this before on the podcast, I think there was a period where,
and it's probably still in motion right now, where film studios are like,
we don't want to have stars.
No, absolutely.
We want to have IP, and we want to have characters that we can control,
and you can slot in any actor and that is fine or no actor.
And, you know, that was the attempt.
You know, we know that, but they did that with a lot of Star Wars stuff.
It's good.
You know, people have said in the past, you know, well, it's not about the actor.
It's about, you know, Thor is the character.
Thor is the star and people will come see Thor or Captain America or whatever.
But I think the ultimate learning of that, and I was, you know, there were moments where I'm like,
well, maybe that is true.
But I think what we have learned is that it is the character and the actor.
Yeah.
When they inevitably reboot the Marvel universe,
there's going to be a new Ironman.
There's going to be new Captain America.
It's going to be a new thought.
There's going to be a lot of scrutiny on those guys.
And I'm not necessarily sure that people are going to just take to them
because, well, it's the characters you love.
We're seeing people not take to them now a lot of the time as well
when they reboot something or recast something.
Yeah.
But again, Florence Pugh is a better black widow.
There you go.
Yeah.
That's interesting though.
You're right, though, it is.
It's a combination of factors.
Yeah.
Of successes, et cetera.
And I think some of these characters as well, like, or some of these actors, rather, have chipped away.
Like, they've started and they've grown a fan base slowly.
Yeah.
And then they have developed into these box office drawers.
Like, Zendaya was a Disney star, right?
Yeah, exactly.
She's worked her way up through a bunch of stuff.
Timothy Shalema did those controller reviews.
That's right.
And he was also in, call me, your name and cannibal man and whatever.
Some people think he's as dumb as a rock.
Do they?
Does he need to be with him, but if he saw him.
with him and Ben Affle.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And it was, he went to say,
oh, who's worked you like?
And he's like, I love,
or how, I don't know if I'm going to say this wrong.
David Johnson.
David Johnson.
But Ben Affleck's like, it's pretty easy to say, actually.
But obviously, the surname could be.
But then he said, no, but then he goes,
no, I know that.
I didn't know his first name was David.
It's like, what do you mean?
What did you think?
Yeah, okay.
Got him.
I don't know, man.
I think maybe he thought, like,
because it's Johnson is spelled J-O-N-S-O-S-O-E.
Maybe he sort of.
Johnson.
Or Yonsen, maybe.
I thought it was a Yonsen, it looks kind of, you know, that way.
No one doesn't.
Yes, it does.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know anything.
I don't think he's as dumb as a rock.
Oh, I know that.
Yeah.
I got this one from Rebecca, who says,
what is the best type of physical media that will have to pride of your cold dead hands?
Mine is obviously the floppy disc.
Good for you for sticking with that one, by the way.
It's a good one, yeah.
It's just, you know, most people think it's just the save icon.
It would be the jazz drive.
It would be the jazz drive. You got me there, yeah.
I want to say like comics and books
But you're not going to?
No, it's like all my video games that I physically own.
Okay, yeah.
Even though I don't even use most of them, no, you cannot have those.
No, it is, for me it is physical comics.
I know I go through phases where I'm like, you know, I'm sure I gave away a bunch, you know,
every time I've moved house, I've had to have thrown away a bunch.
But like, that is, that's, that's the best medium.
And I have a lot of, you know, fond memories, that sort of stuff.
I love looking at old comic books from the 80s
with all the ads and stuff in them,
all the mail away.
Weird ads.
Weird ads.
Weird ad alert.
You better believe it.
Mail away for a scam.
That's right.
And I never did because it was always like mail in a check.
And I'm like, I don't think that's going to work.
Give us a check.
Get your parents to send us a check.
We have comics.
What do you think, Nick?
Send us a check.
Okay, comics.
I guess I will.
Please do
You don't even need to put any numbers on it
Just sign it away
Send it to me, comics
Okay, comics, I'll do it
I'll send you whatever the thing we're selling
Whatever crap it is
We'll send it, we'll definitely send it
We're boxing it up right now
I'm putting the tape over the box
And if you don't get it
That's the mailman's fault
You should attack the mailman
That's right
Send us another check
And then we'll make sure the mailman sends it
That's right
Is it the show?
And it's the whole show, folks.
Thank you so much for listening.
How many checks do you record you said?
Over the my lifetime?
Yeah.
Six or seven checks.
Same.
Yeah.
Not many's.
Yeah.
Folks, thank you so much.
Everything's a fucking app, Mason.
Right?
Everything's an app that doesn't fucking work.

We better finish this up before James goes on one of his famous rants.
And everybody comments on the internet about his rant.
People love me.
They say, James, we love you.
They do.
They do.
Yeah, sure, man.
They love me, Mason.
They do.
Do they?
I don't know.
Folks, thank you so much for listening.

They've got the it factor.
Yeah.
Who could Glenn Powell play?
Spider-Boy?
He could Glenn Powell play Spider-Boy with his incredible unusual stature?
Could he do it?
