Starting point is 00:00:02 Welcome back everybody to another episode of the weekly planet where we talk movies and comics and TV shows. My name is James, also known as Mr. Sunday. Nick Mason, what do you got to say for yourself? I'm not sorry. Oh my God. That's right, for the things I've said and done. Do you think they'll overcome a point where like a moment of self-reflection? I doubt it.
Starting point is 00:00:19 You will be? No? No. Wait, there won't be self-reflection or there won't be apologia? There won't be anything. I'm rotten to the core. Okay, cool. And I'm fine with that, actually.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Do you think this is something that people will, like when you do something, legitimately upsetting. This would be a clip that people can play in the future and be like, well, he did tell us. I mean, he did tell us. Depends how wacky I sound while I'm saying it. I don't apologize. I don't know. It sounds like you're
Starting point is 00:00:48 back it up just a little bit from it as all I'm saying. To be like, I'm just being wacky. I've just been a fun guy. Call me Mr. Mushroom. I'm not going to apologize. James, call me Mr. Mushroom because I'm just being a fun guy. I'm not also going to apologize though. For me? You don't have to. I'm not asking you to. I don't want to. I don't want to. You're Actions are your own.
Starting point is 00:01:04 And they're reprehensible? Would you say? No, they're all right. No, come on. No, they're all right. Give me this. Give me this one thing. All right, you're reprehensible in your actions.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Thank you. Finally, I'm a bad boy. Mason, it's time to watch a movie that nobody else has watched. Yeah, might not even be out in a lot of places or whatever. We're talking about The Runner. It might not even exist. No, we're talking about Runner. Your thing of The Runner.
Starting point is 00:01:25 I watched eight minutes of The Runner last week. I'm talking about Runner. You watched the full thing of Runner. I nearly called it The Runner. With you in cinemas. Yeah. Me and you and two other guys. That's exactly right.
Starting point is 00:01:36 They were a team also. They were a team also. Presumably they were also doing it for podcasts. They had their podcast going. Yeah. So yeah, we're going to talk about that this week, but there's other things to talk about.
Starting point is 00:01:44 I mean, we're also, you mentioned that there's another fake movie out we could have looked at. We could have watched May Day, which is the Ryan Reynolds, I thought that was an app the movie's real movie.
Starting point is 00:01:52 It seems the closest Apple has gotten to a real movie in quite some time. Yeah. Because they did Killers of the Flower Moon and then they did an assortment of nothing. Yeah, because it didn't win
Starting point is 00:02:03 any Oscars, I guess, so they're like, well, forget about it. Yeah, we didn't have to do this. Yeah, this was reprehensible what you've done, Martin Scorsese. Well, Mayday, 2026, has got an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not bad. What's Runner got? Uh, why? Have we made the wrong call?
Starting point is 00:02:18 Oh, my God. I think Runner's interesting to talk about it. I thought it was very interesting. Interesting. Because, of course, it's... Are you talking about The Runner or Runner? I'm talking about Runner. I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Yeah, you are. Yeah. I would imagine it'll do quite well in Australia, because runners are what we call sneakers. Oh, they are too. So maybe people will be like, ooh, 90 minutes of runners on screen. 90 minutes of the Dunlop volley, they'll say.
Starting point is 00:02:41 On screen. 90 minutes of the Dunlop KT26. Dunlop volleys are not a good running shoe though, are they? They're not at all. Flat as a tack. They're not really good for anything. No, man, you better off going bare foot than wearing Dunlop volleys.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Yeah. They sit funny. They sit weird. It doesn't matter if you wearing jeans or pants or whatever or shorts. They sit funny. Who's got an entirely flat foot like a duck? You know? I've got a pretty flat feet, honestly.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Like a duck? But they're not even good for me. And you're a duck. I'm a duck. Runner, because we didn't look into runner at all beforehead. That's what I wasn't apologising for, by the way, my flat feet. You're having your duck-ass feet. Duck-ass webbed flat feet.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Exactly. That's right, web toes, the whole bit. I'm not apologising. Do you know web toes does run in my family? Yeah, I know. Yeah, my toes are slightly webbed, two of them. I'm not going to tell you which two. It's a mystery.
Starting point is 00:03:29 It's the big toe on your left foot and the big toe on your right foot. Slightly webbed together. That's why you run funny. That's why you run with that little hop. That's why I run like I run. I hop. That's why you always got a doctor's note at school, so you didn't have to do high jump or long jump.
Starting point is 00:03:45 No, any of the jumps. Hurdles. It does have a 70% on Rotten Tomatoes. I didn't know this because before going in, we went no trailers. We didn't even know if it was like a comedy or whatever. Well, I didn't. I knew who'd released it, I think.
Starting point is 00:03:59 You were surprised. We were all about that in that. Well, there's five people who released it. Six, maybe. Five people. Five independent men. But not only we're going to talk about that, we're going to talk about Spider-Man becoming the biggest movie in US history.
Starting point is 00:04:12 What? We're going to talk about some cancellations in Spider-Man. Even more than Goan with the wind? Even more than Goon with the wind. Even more than Goon with the wind? I don't know about that. That probably has a big release in itself, Mason. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:04:22 We're talking about a cancelled Spider-Man property, but then four others that might be taking its place. Okay, that's too many. We're going to talk about some X-Men reboot casting. Ooh. And what's going on with that villain? We've got some trailers, or a bunch of trailers this week, but the ones we're going to talk about at Godzilla minus zero
Starting point is 00:04:37 and M Knight-Sharmelan's new movie, Romar. And then we're going to talk about how Wolverine the game is not very good, apparently. Is that what people are saying? That's out right now, right? No, it's this coming week. It's coming out this week, yes. Are you excited for not playing it because you don't have a PS5?
Starting point is 00:04:55 Correct, yes. Wow, you're going to... I'm very excited for that. I'm very excited if I'm... I've already allotted my playing Wolverine on the PS5 time to other things. Because I don't... Goon with the wind?
Starting point is 00:05:06 Just sitting around. Gould with the wind. I've already seen Goon with the Wind. And? Frankly, I don't give it... Something to do with Jack and I don't know. Okay. There's time codes below if you do no jump to anything
Starting point is 00:05:19 Rob Collings who edits this. He makes it so. Just like William Shanna. That's right. But also next week, worth mentioning, two movies that I hope I can squeeze in. I'm definitely going to see Resident Evil. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Oh, good for you. I cannot wait to see Resident Evil. I think it is my most anticipated movie of the year. More than Avengers Doomsday? Yes. More than Avengers Doomsday? Yeah, that and probably The Odyssey and that and maybe Dune 3. And The Runner, which quite frankly the first eight minutes of, I didn't care for it.
Starting point is 00:05:47 But maybe I should give it a chance. Sure. And Cody Birdies versus Acme is finally out here. Street Fighter? Street Fighter's not out yet. Okay, yeah. You're okay with that? I'm okay with that.
Starting point is 00:05:56 It's fine with me. Actually, let's just quickly talk about Street Fighter because I was asking you this when we saw it, the trailer in the movie The Runner. Sure. I was like, do you think this is going to, it's October 15th Street Fighter, in Australia at least. Is this going to do better than the Mortal Kombat movie that was released this year? And you're saying, and I agree with you that it will, because it's a more known. I think it is, yeah, and it's been... Property?
Starting point is 00:06:17 And it's been longer between movies, I think. And it does look fun. And, you know, Mortal Kombat does have a huge fan base, but I also think, you know, Street Fighter 2 specifically is the kind of the granddaddy of the mall. It's Mario. It's a game that's basically it's Mario. It's got a huge fan base and this is the one like Mario, like the most recent Mario's, this is the most, this is the game. So if this doesn't draw people in, I don't know what.
Starting point is 00:06:43 You don't think World War II was the game enough? Because they went to different nether realms. They did and they did stand on parapets and platforms and so forth. And they said, get over here. Remember they visited Scorpion and hell and he goes, I'm going to do some mortal combat with you guys. Yeah. Just for old time's sake.
Starting point is 00:07:00 I wasn't going to. Yeah. But, you know. What's that about my family or whatever? All right, I'll come. All right, I'm mad now. Cody versus Acme, yes. Hopefully we can squeeze that in as well.
Starting point is 00:07:10 If not, we'll talk about it. Yeah, both of those movies really looking forward to. Frankly, my dear, I don't goona, Dan? There we go, all right. Pretty good. That's a good placeholder, I think. For a better thing. A better thing that I might think of later, but I'll probably forget.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I don't think you need to do better than that. I think gooning isn't about improving yourself. What is it about? Tell us what Goody is about it. Look, specifically, I guess. I don't know if I want to get into it. But it's, you know, I don't think it's about improving yourself. Improving yourself.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Okay. In any real or tangible way. That's interesting. Yeah. Or it's tangible. But it's, uh... It's tangible. It's textured.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Yeah. I would say stay away from it. Okay. All right. Great. Wow. Way to alienate a lot of our audience. And some of the hosts.
Starting point is 00:07:59 And some of the hosts. And some of us. 50% of the hosts. Spider-Man, brand-new day is going, over the weekend, is going to become the biggest U.S. domestic movie in history. That's beating...
Starting point is 00:08:10 Even more than Goon with the Wind. Even more than Goon with the Wind. Speaking of Goody, it beats Star Wars the Force Awakens. Wow. Spider-Man is bigger than ever. I know if you saw a representative Sony came out and said the reason this movie...
Starting point is 00:08:23 We did this, they said. Yeah. This was our doing. Tell us we're good at making movies. You can't say we're not, because this one made a lot of money. It did, didn't it? More money than any movie. Don't look at any other movie we've made.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yeah. What did you say? What's her name? She's in Morbius and now she's probably Wonder Woman. Oh, Andrea Aronan. Yeah. She mentioned in passing this week that she worked with an alist actor who went full method and it was terrible.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Yeah. And people were like, Morbius. Yeah, Jarrant Leto. Yeah. But so, yeah, Spider Man is bigger than him. Anyway, one of the executives. was like, well, people like that movie. The quote I read in the headline was like,
Starting point is 00:09:04 Sony executive calls people lonely, and that's why they liked it. He said that among other things, but it was like, it's a movie about a guy. And that's the core of it. And it's not so, like, this isn't a superhero movie. This isn't a Spider-Man movie. It's a man movie.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Man movie. Man movie. So in celebration of this doing so well, Sony have also canceled Spider-Man noir. Oh, yeah, they did that, didn't I? Well, was it a cancellation so much as they only really had a commitment for one season? It felt one and done in watching it. Yeah, it really did.
Starting point is 00:09:34 For me, this feels okay to cancel. It ended with a big tip of the hat and he's like, off I go. It probably was really expensive too, and we wouldn't get another season for four years and it wouldn't be worth it in the end, ultimately. I suppose it depends on how much money Nicholas Cage frivolously spends in the next couple of years. Yeah, how many original Dracula caskets he buys
Starting point is 00:09:54 or whatever he's up to, yeah. And speaking of, Nicholas Cage has got this quote. He says, for me, one season is perfect. Having said what I wanted to say with this dangerous, innovative pop art Spider-Man, onwards, upwards, upwards, inward. Yeah. Inner Space reboot. He didn't say Inner Space reboot, but we can only assume he means inner space rebuts.
Starting point is 00:10:12 I mean, he wasn't in the original inner space. Yeah, but he could be in the reboot. Yeah, so who? Dennis Quaid. Dennis Quaid's coming back to go inside other people. Nicholas Cage, yes. I'm okay with this. You get Jack Quaid.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Jack Quaid. To be inside Nicholas Cage for the inner space reboot. Okay. Yeah. This is a good idea. I mean, it's a great idea, but that's just the start. I don't even think it's your idea. It sounds to me from this quote that they're already doing that.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Oh, what? Yeah, inwards. Those sons of bitches, they stole my idea. No, Mason, you stole their idea. Son of a bitch, I stole their idea. Anyway, Deadline is saying that the two sides, Amazon and Sony, because as we know, and I think this is one of the smartest things that Sony have ever done, they have not created a...
Starting point is 00:10:56 Minidisc. They have not created a streaming. platform. Right. I mean, I guess they sort of did with the PlayStation portal at one point or whatever it is. Not the portal, not the portal, the handheld thing. I mean, you could download movies or whatever. Sony Plus would be the most canceled streaming service like day of.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Absolutely. Of any streaming service. You'd sign up and you'd go, oh, Spider-Man 1, 2, 3. I've seen that. That's pretty good. And everything else is bad. Okay, goodbye. Well, I guess the way they could do it, and I hope they don't, is, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:27 people already have PlayStation Plus and more. You can just fold it into that. That's true. I really want to do it. But I think that they're smart not to get into this game because they're not, they wouldn't be good in it. Anyway, the two sides, Amazon and Sony, they're carrying on with development of multiple projects with one of them being needed to a series order.
Starting point is 00:11:44 So apparently, this is by the anchor, that there are four different Spider-Man Universe scripts that are being considered. One is from American-born Chinese scribe, Calvin Yu. Okay. That's apparently really good. I haven't seen it. I've got canceled on Netflix. American-born.
Starting point is 00:11:58 I don't think I saw it. the one that was on the Netflix show that was cancer? Am I thinking of a different show? I watched the one Ronnie Chang is in. So it's Disney Plus. I watched Interior Chinatown. Okay. I've never heard of that.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Okay, then. Mega Board China is apparently really good. And then Better Call Sol and Pluribus writer Alison Tatlock is working on one. Ben Nadevi and Matt Walpert co-creators of Four Man, kind of working on one. And Megan MacDonald-Otonel, who's worked on the likes of the Marbles and WonderVision is also working on one.
Starting point is 00:12:26 So... Do we know any specifics beyond? No, it's just... I'd imagine it's Spider-Gwen, it's Spider-Ham, it's... Miles Morales, it's clone Peter, whatever. Yeah, yeah. It's just, it's all, it's that. And maybe they will eventually bring them together.
Starting point is 00:12:39 They're going to do Richard and Mary Parker, their spies. Oh my God, that's my favorite Spider-Man story. Right? Where Spider-Man isn't in it, it's a bad example. Secret Subway. Yeah. You know? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Oh, you shouldn't call something Secret Subway, because, you know, the subway thing that happened. And his secrets that he had. Yeah, he had secrets, but now luckily everybody knows his secrets. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, I do like the idea that they can explore different. I mean, there's so many interesting different versions of Spider-Man. Like, why wouldn't you do explore something like this, you know?
Starting point is 00:13:11 And that's the two. Because probably nobody likes them as much as they like Tom Holland regular Spider-Man. That's the one that people like. Do you think that's what happened with Spider-Man noir, that it didn't hit the numbers that it mustn't have justified its cost? Or they didn't think the next season would at the very least. I mean, you know, you would, you would, It was a good series.
Starting point is 00:13:30 I liked it. There was a lot of fun. Nicholas Cage was great. And it commits 100% good supporting cast, like the whole thing. Yep. Black and white. Black and white was good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:39 But also in color. Yep. But it's, I think a lot of people, first of all, I think a lot of people, especially if your streaming service or your TV defaulted to black and white, I think a lot of people, that's a barrier for a lot of people. Yeah. And I think a lot of people were probably like, Nicholas Kay, too weird. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:54 Too weird. I don't know about this. Upwards and inwards. What is he talking about? What is he talking about that inner space? reboot, we planned? How does he know about that? But I think people like, because again, I think the core of Spider-Man success, one, Tom Olims. Web's, very, very, very likable fella, but also because it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, he's,
Starting point is 00:14:21 fighting crime in New York City and we all get it kind of thing. We all get it. I mean, that's, and, you know, you'd think Nicholas Cage's Spider-in-wow, that's even more meat and potatoes, black and white meat and potatoes. Yeah. But slightly too confusing, you know? Yeah. He's been Ryan Lume, or maybe he was Peter Parker,
Starting point is 00:14:35 blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. Why is he 65 years old? Yeah, that's not for Spider-Man. He young. He young man. He young man. Do you have a version of this
Starting point is 00:14:46 that you would like to see? They couldn't probably do it, but future Spider-Man would, if they did it right, would look insane. Spider-Man 29-9, yeah, I love that. Well, yeah, I mean, but that is also, like, talking about not bringing not making its budget back yeah exactly like like Oscar Isaac live action
Starting point is 00:15:04 spider man 2099 you have to read you have to build a 2099 world that's and he's already moon can night he's already moon can I guess they built the they could stylize it the way that they did for the black and white series you know it wouldn't have to be like hyper realistic yeah you could have it in black and white mode as well yeah that is true yeah absolutely yeah I would like a spider man villain series oh okay listen mason Have we already done? What are you the heads of Sony? Trying to put together a sinister six.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Oh, I forgot. There's been a bunch of those in their back. You forgot because none of them are actually villains. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That is exactly why I forgot. Because I didn't, because when I was thinking villains, I was thinking villains that do crimes and bank robberies and stuff. Naive of you.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Yeah. Yeah. But no, I can see that. Superior foes of Spider-Man. For EG. Superior Spider-Man will be interesting, but is that also too complicated to be like, well, Doc Ock has taken over a version of Peter Parker.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Yeah. And then which version of Peter Park, you'd have to recast. Yeah. I don't think Sony want two Peter Parker's at many one time. No, I don't think so either. Which is why they made B.K. They've looked over at D.C. and they're like, they're trying to do two Batmans at the same time? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Two Batsman? Good luck. And they did that. They put a bunch of Batman's in the one movie, the Flash. That was also bad. That was a good movie. Yeah, I get, I mean, you know, the problem with your, for people that don't know, the superior Spider-Man storyline in the comic.
Starting point is 00:16:29 was that Dr. Octopus takes his consciousness and he puts it in Peter Parker's brain. And he's not allowed to do that. He's not allowed to do that. We're against that. And I remember enjoying that quite a lot. The problem with that, of course, is we have just done. A woman puts her mind in a bunch of other people, the movie.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Oh, that's true. A bunch of times. And also, then we also did Dr. Octopus because it was the Ramey version. And then we have to, you need to establish a consistent villain who, like if you maybe you change it. So you can't change it because it's, da, you can't change it so it's not Dr. Octopus because he's the, he's the only villain that really works with because he's the genius and he thinks he's better than Spider-Man and that's why it works. But you have to reintroduce that character, then have them in opposition for at least one movie and then maybe have him transfer his brain into Spider-Man at the end of that. And then the next movie is evil Spider-Man, which you already kind of did in Spider-Man 3.
Starting point is 00:17:26 I mean, nobody, people seem to be very excited to just redo all the old stuff. Wens venom. Black suit. I hope never. I hope never, ever, yeah. Didn't we just have three Venom movies as well? That's true. Good movies.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Good movies. What would you like to see then? I mean, Spider-Gwen's are, you know, an easy. I mean, God. It's just easy, is it? Just an easy layout, is it? No, I just think about the movies. This is you making a movie, James.
Starting point is 00:17:53 You just walk in a set? You know what I'd like? They won't do it. it, but a revamp of the 1970s Japanese Spider-Man mecks and fucking race cars and make it just Japanese. Sure, no, they would
Starting point is 00:18:06 never do that. That would never do it. But how cool with that man? He's got a giant, fucking Power Rangers robot. Yeah, that's a leopard or a lion or something? Yeah, Leopardon. Yeah. He's got a calf for some reason. He's a demon from hell. He's dealing telling people. He keeps telling everybody that. He gets his powers from an alien in a cave and
Starting point is 00:18:21 then dies and becomes a spider who tells him to punch people, but then that spider dies or whatever? Yeah. He's got a sword? That's true. Yeah, so that. Okay. They never do it.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Of course they never do it. I mean, they did a version of Japanese spider also in the animated spider version. Yeah. Penny Parker with the mech. Yeah, that's true. And that is cool, but I'm not talking about that. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:44 So that... Yeah, give me a proper Spider-Man, like, high-tech villains in New York doing a scheme. Yeah. How do you integrate... I guess what you do is you integrate spider. Because, okay, here's what you could do. Yeah. You could get Tom Holland in,
Starting point is 00:18:59 but he doesn't have to be in it for most of the movie. He's just like a, like a presence. Yeah. And everybody's like, if we actually get involved in a, he could be like the, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:09 like a horror movie villain. Yeah. Like you, you, if Spider Man actually cons on what we're doing, we're done for. So. There's been great comics like that,
Starting point is 00:19:17 but not, I can't think of a movie which is committed to, like that kind of premise. But I think that could be really interesting. Because I think also, if you just do like, well, this is Spider-Man-ish, oh, it's Peter Parker-ish, and then why even do it?
Starting point is 00:19:28 So do take a swing at something that's a swing. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Yeah. Anyway, that's Spider-Man talk for the week. Congratulations everybody at Spider-Man HQ, especially Sony. You know what I'd like them to do? Not for Spider-Man, but actually with Spider-Man, but Marvel at large, just do Marvel team-up.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Yeah, okay. Like, it's just Hawkeye and the Punisher or whatever. Hawkeye and the Punisher? Maybe not those two specifically. Yeah, because they're both kind of shooting guys, aren't they? Well, that could work, but they shoot in different ways, and they have different ideologies. You mean the guys in real life? Yes, but maybe, but maybe not.
Starting point is 00:20:02 But, like, that was a, you know, a very common comic book from back in the day. You'd get the more popular character, and then you'd just throw an additional guy and be like, two guys. Watch the Sparks Fly. All gals. Two gals. I mean, they did that with Punisher and Spider-Man in the movie, didn't that? That's why I'm thinking it.
Starting point is 00:20:17 That's why I'm thinking it. I don't have any new ideas. You didn't have any ideas, do you? No. Wait about that in a space really. that I came up with. Yeah, that was a good idea. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I came up with it. I know. Thank you. Thank you. Skip him this one. Nobody email him. This is my T. H.R.
Starting point is 00:20:35 There's an X-Men reboot happening. You know this. Oh, yes. We've talked about the cast. We've got Samara weaving as Emma Frost. We've got... Oh, tell me something I don't know. Tell me something I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Whatever. Tell me something I don't know. I won't. Okay. Kit Conners, etc. Sure. And so on and so forth. Sadie Sinkers, Gene Gray, Christopher Abbott, whatever, whatever.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Yeah, whatever. Anyway, Ace German, Double N, has been cast as Angel. You'll know him. He played, he was a superhero character in Gen B. Oh, yeah. Do you remember him? He was the guy who used to see puppets. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:13 This fella. Psycho Exploity Brain Man. Yeah. Yeah. I can say that. Yeah. That's an angel. That's an angel-looking guy.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Mm-hmm. So, yeah, just more. More of those things are happening. As mentioned, Jake Shryer, who directed the Thunderbolts, asterix. Yeah. Is directing this is going to be out in May 5th of 2020, after we get through this doomsday nonsense. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:34 After this, this, this guff. And this is by my time to shine hello, so this is real. It's apparently in the emceus, X-Men reboot, Mr. Sinister, who's going to be played by Adam Driver, is also working for Apocalypse, and we'll reportedly have a cameo, setting him up to be the big bad of the next saga. Apocalypse will have a cameo. Sorry, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Apocalypse is having cameo and then bigger and better things. Wow. Which I think Mr. Sinuses is in the new X-Men game as well, a Wolverine game or something. I think he's in the trailers or whatever. I don't know. Well, traditionally, you know, Apocalypse is his boss. A bossalypse.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Sure. Sure. Sure. Whatever you reckon, mate. And he feels about bringing back Apocalypse into live action. I mean, we've already done it. And it was bad. And it was Oscar Isaac.
Starting point is 00:22:22 It was bad on Oscar Isaac. Yeah, good. But he could use sand to cut people's heads off. Yeah, give us proper apocalypse. Yeah. A propelips. Yep. Nice.
Starting point is 00:22:34 A proppopopolips. Yep. Pops. Big. Big. Weird lips. Yeah. Thanos.
Starting point is 00:22:41 A belt buckle. Use the Thanos technology and the Dr. Doom technology because apparently he's all CGI. Oh, okay. A lot of the time as well. You think Tony's. Stark's going to put on a suit, you're an idiot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Yeah. Also, you think Robert Downey Jr. is really Tony Stark? You're an idiot. Oh, man, what have I done? I've said wrong words. Because initially, won't they, also when they were filming Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr. was just standing back and saying the lines and someone else was doing the standing.
Starting point is 00:23:07 I did know that. I remember reading this. I don't know whether it's true. Would you read it from my time to shine hello? I might have, yeah. Fake resource. And then they were like. Fake insider.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Oh, this isn't really working. And it's like, yeah, no shit. Yeah. Why would that work? Why are you even here? What weird power move is this? Well, I will be on set, but I'm not going to go where the cameras are. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:28 I don't think the cameras would be capable of handling how powerful my acting is. Since I've done Oppenheim, but my acting's only gotten more powerful. Christopher Nolan made my powers of acting so strong that I'm just going to do more Marvel movies. Yeah. Just going to go back to what I was doing. That's right. Yeah. Having such powerful acting abilities isn't cheap.
Starting point is 00:23:48 No. You know, so. more money, please. Your money for big shoes I can wear. That's right. Can you imagine him in a Dunlop volley? He'd be two feet tall. Wow.
Starting point is 00:23:59 He also needs, you know, some renovation, some ceiling lowering and every building he goes into. Oh, really? Yeah. Wow. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Trailers, oh, Mason. Ponged tingling. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Let's go. Godzilla minus zero, the sequel to Godzilla minus 1, three years after the fact. So again, director Takayashi Yamazaki Takashi Yamazaki yeah as back as director
Starting point is 00:24:25 The last one was made for like $15 million A lot of people were crunched I think a bunch of people weren't paid properly and that's why it looks so good It looks phenomenal They were just excited
Starting point is 00:24:34 To not be paid properly That's why I do anything That I do I like not being paid So yeah it's But it's set two years after the last And in this new trailer It seems that Godzilla It seems as if Godzilla has returned
Starting point is 00:24:45 But didn't they blop his head And I think a bird That was a bird It was a bird. It was a bird. It was a bird. All one of your children. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Something flew into the window and went dunk, and then there was silence. So let's assume it was a bird and move on with our lives. We're going to go out and see something bad. So let's just stay in here. Yeah. Schroding is a thing that got banged up against the window. Just now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Yeah. So Godzilla's back up having his head and body exploded. But you can't kill Godzilla. No. Which is, I'm dramatically, is not very exciting. Is Godzilla ever actually been properly killed for real? Probably. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:17 He was probably killed in the last one. Yeah, but he came back. I'm talking about like... Well, no, because they keep making the movies. Yeah, that's what I'm telling you. Godzilla 9098. They did smash him into a building. Yeah, and he did with missiles.
Starting point is 00:25:28 And then he just died. Oh, in the movie, he died in the movie. Then he came back later, though? No, that's his son. Or daughter. No, no, the movie came back and he got knocked into the Sydney Harbour Bridge or whatever. What? In the...
Starting point is 00:25:38 They did like Godzilla epic meal time. Oh, Godzilla 2000. Yeah. Yeah, but that's not canonical. That's not canonical. Well, I mean, it is canonical, but it's like... I don't think they're like, that's Godzilla from the movie. I think they're just like, that's another lizard guy.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Well, he's, he's not even a Godzilla, that guy, is he? He's a lizard guy. That's what I'm telling you. Yeah. Anyway, it seems as if the Godzilla is fighting somebody. First of all, he's on a tear and people like, fuck, this guy, geez, no. This guy again? What?
Starting point is 00:26:05 Yeah. We just did Japanese World War II and a Godzilla. We just hit him with the oxygen destroy. That's the best thing we've got. That's the only thing we've got. Is it because we gave it a stupid name? Yeah, man. We should have called it the Godzilla finally killer a fight.
Starting point is 00:26:17 2000. We got him. We got him. We preemptively got him. We're so confident in this. We're really got to get him. Really got to get him. Yeah. But it looks like. Yeah. So I mean the question here is, is, is, is what? Because this Godzilla's rotten as well, like the original Godzilla. Yeah, he is, that's true, yeah. He's not a force of nature for good. Not yet. No yet. I think he might be, he'll be coming in this one. I think they're sort of fast-tracking him to be the good guy in this one. Yeah. Because what I think is happening in this is if you, if you watch the trailer, which I have, How's that film? Good, I think, to finally watch a trailer.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Yeah. They've got a little fragment of what I think might be Godzilla, and I think they're going to be like, we're going to make our own Godzilla, because they're like, we're going to fight fire with fire. When's that ever worked? All the time. Oh, yeah, sometimes it works.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Sometimes it works, and it's great. Yeah. But, I mean, it's... And so you think they're going to manufacture it? I think they're making a Godora. Oh, my God. Or they're uncovering Godora. Isn't Godora normally a space man?
Starting point is 00:27:12 Yes, he is. But I mean, the question maybe is when... Maybe he's already here or something, and maybe they're going to lure him out with meat. They're going to lure them out with that little bit of Godzilla meat. They're going to chum the waters with a Godzilla meat. But I mean, the suggestion here is I think that they're meddling with forces they cannot comprehend. And they're like, we're going to just make it.
Starting point is 00:27:31 I think we should meddle with forces we can't comprehend. Also, sometimes they call Gador Monster Zero. So maybe that's, maybe that's the tasting. And there's also lightning and lasers and whatever. Gator loves lightning and lasers. He loves lighting and lasers. I didn't like that latest King Gador lightning and lasers Godzilla movie. It's just not a great movie.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Which one was it? That was... The previous... Not the last one, but it was the one before, right? I feel like it was the second of the newer one. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Let me check, because we have done a caravan of garbage, and I will do my research. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:02 Godzilla King of Monsters, so yeah, that was... Whenever that one was. Not helpful. That was the second of the reboot once. Okay, right. It's got to Millicent Bobbison Brown. Absolutely. If you recall correctly, which I know you do.
Starting point is 00:28:13 I do. I do. Great. excited for this one looks good also it's interesting the trailer says there is no third time everything ends here implying that this is it for this world they're gonna blow it up yeah wow so I'd be okay with that
Starting point is 00:28:28 if they were like two and done as the expression goes that's so true isn't it is out November 3rd what are you doing that day November 3rd this year yeah that was quick what was
Starting point is 00:28:38 the release of the filming and release of this movie it's three years yep but it surprised me normally they'd release this and it'd be like January 100 years from now January 100 years from now what do you think about that we'll all be dead
Starting point is 00:28:52 we're actually not made it we're just assuming we'll all be dead I would love that yeah I like it when video games do with that they're like I'm announcing a video games never coming out don't worry about it he's a pre-readed cinematic
Starting point is 00:29:03 oh yeah well that guy's got a cloak on a big sword yep wow the guy who made this the guy behind it he's scammed you before he's been scabing every everybody for about eight years. He's going to keep on scamming you.
Starting point is 00:29:16 You know it. But what if you didn't? That's what I love about video games. Yeah, they're good. The scam. Yeah. So also we've got a trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's latest movie, Remain. Remain.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Which is described as a supernatural romantic thriller. It's written, directed and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, but it's based on a story by Nicholas Sparks. And Em Night Shyamalan. Well, together at last. Together at last. How do you feel about... Because they came up with the idea together, the Nicholas Sparks wrote the book.
Starting point is 00:29:43 and now M-Night Charmeline's making the movie. How do I feel about it? How do you feel like Jake Gyllenhaal kissing a ghost? Are you sure that's what's happening? Mm-hmm. Are you sure? No, me neither. Is that not what's happening?
Starting point is 00:29:55 I don't know. Because she's like, why can't we be together? And he's like, because you're a ghost. He does say that, doesn't it? Maybe you meant as a metaphor. No. Because you know these trailers, they're always misleading. Probably in the movie he'll go,
Starting point is 00:30:07 because you're a ghost metaphorically. And we'll be like, uh-huh. You know what's going to happen, though. What's that? He's the ghost. ghost. Nice. Nice. Or he becomes a ghost at the end and they get to be ghost together. Ghost together. I would say don't enter a relationship like that where you have to become a ghost to be with somebody. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's called ghost lighting. Look it up. Yeah, and what'll happen is,
Starting point is 00:30:29 it's on Reddit. What'll happen is you'll become a ghost, however you want to achieve that or whatever. And then you'd be like, actually, now you're a ghost, you're kind of giving me the ick. And you'd be like, you can't, you can't get out of that, can you? No, you really can't. Once you've given someone the ick. Yeah. Now, what's he's, going to do? Bring himself back to life. Good luck. Good luck. What is this? The movie The Frighteners where Michael J. Fox puts himself into a frozen induced coma? Yeah, right? What are you going to do? Wait for a knock at the cabin style end of the world scenario. You end up in the afterlife? Ridiculous? Don't be ridiculous, Jake Gyllenhaal. Yeah. Also, how is it going to work? Like a lot of
Starting point is 00:31:07 the time when somebody's a ghost, they come back for unfinished business on earth. What if your ghost business, is to get with a girl who's also a ghost. But then... Oh, then you move on. Yeah, but then she's... You've given her the ick. Yeah. So what you can never move on.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Damn. Yeah. Yeah. And then she gets with some Chad. Are you kidding me? She gets with Callum Turner from that movie where... Where they go to the afterlife and have to choose or whatever. Elizabeth Olson has to choose.
Starting point is 00:31:32 I haven't seen that movie and I don't know what happens, but I bet she chooses herself. Oh, I don't know. I couldn't tell you. Callum Turner. Is he famous enough yet? Are you happy PR machine? We noticed him, all right? Fucking next guy.
Starting point is 00:31:42 Bye, please. Jesus. Wow. We haven't talked about the James Vodcasting in a while. We can talk about that. Gary Omband said they did it or whatever. I think he said it, but I don't think he's based that on anything. I think he just went, sounds like they did it.
Starting point is 00:31:55 I read it in the sun probably. I'm British. I'm British, exactly. You've been watching Slow Horses? I'm not up to date, no. Well, I'm up to date, but not for the new series. I'm five or six seasons behind. But I know.
Starting point is 00:32:06 This is season five. I'm that many seasons behind. Okay, then that's a lot. Well, then you'd be surprised. You know they brought back Olivia Cook. Olivia Coole. The ugliest woman in the world. Let me check this.
Starting point is 00:32:15 She's in Ready Player one. Oh, she is the ugliest woman in the world. Yeah, you don't have to look her up. You know she's the ugliest woman in the world. Oh, how did they even get away with putting that woman in the movie? Oh, they bleeped it out. The whole woman. Yep, the whole woman, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Oh, my God. Yeah, so the... The rumour is... The rumour is... Calum Turner is currently in the running, of course, in a bunch. It's mostly people we know and then like one guy. I would rather the people we don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Yeah. So one of the... Speaking of Slod also. So one of the people in the running is Jack Loden who plays River in the show. Is that his real name? Yeah, River, I don't know why. It's an odd choice for a British man. First name? First, River Cartwright is his name. Yeah, I know. Breaks the immersion, doesn't it? Yeah. Cartwright, right? Cartwright makes more sense. It kind of does, isn't it? Yeah. Yes, maybe River's a popular
Starting point is 00:33:01 name in the United Kingdom. Oh, then yes. It should be called British Dam, because that's a popular body of water. Oh, very nice. The Thames Cartwright. Thames. Tempts. Yeah. London Eye Cartwright. Very good. London Eye double-decker bus wax museum. Greg's. Greg's Cartwright. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:20 But so, you know, if you haven't seen the show, it's concerned Slough House, which is this offshoot of MI5. It's like this rundown office building in some, you know, bad neighborhood. It's in Slough. I don't know. I haven't seen it. No, I can't remember. But it's where MI5 sends all the agents that screwed up, but they can't fire them for a variety of reasons. Because of HR.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Yeah, pretty much because of HR. Because of bloody, you know. Woke politics. Exactly. So there's like, you know, there's someone with a gambling problem. There's an alcoholic. There's a guy who's just thoroughly unpleasant to be around. You're just describing James Bond.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Yeah. But so the rivers, so the thing about... So each person has a different characteristic of James Bond. Yeah, that's true. And then they come together like a mechazort? And then it works together. And they're like, we're slow horse. I'm going to get you, domestic terrorism.
Starting point is 00:34:10 a result. Well, laser heads are? Yeah, they form up in Big Ben. Yeah, it's pretty cool, right? Yeah. But so, so the premise is, so river on the surface seems like the most James Bond-like character. Yeah. Like he can sort of fight and he knows how to surveil people and he's got a good Tom Cruise run and etc.
Starting point is 00:34:30 But he's there because he thinks he is James Bond. Oh. So like, so like James Bond, you know, acts on impulse and he doesn't follow orders. But at the end of the day, that's okay. he saves the day. But this guy kind of thinks that that will always work and a lot of the time it doesn't work. That's fine. And so kind of like, and at the end of the day he's like, well, we sort of save the day and they're like, yeah, but you ruined all our day.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Like you're in a lot of trouble for this kind of thing. Oh my God. And people have said, well, you can't do that because you can't hire this guy because it's sort of like. I was going to say, is that too, you know, on the nose? He's doing it already. Well, see, that's the thing because people have said, oh, it's, well, people, slow, they say slow horses as a satire, but I feel it's like. like way more accurate to how MIFI probably is than James Bond. But people like, oh, it's too, it's weird that he's like a goofy version of James Bond
Starting point is 00:35:22 and then he'd become James Bond. But that's happened repeatedly. Like Roger Moore was the same, and he was also one half of the persuaders, which are both goofy-ass version as a James Bond. Pierce Broson was Remington Steel. It was Remington Steel, which is the first episode, I looked this up the other day, the first episode of Remington Steel is called License to Steel. So, like, they knew what they were doing.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Dude, come on, man. Yeah. Daniel Craig was... He was layer cake. I was going to say he was the villain in the power of one. That's true. A white racist. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:51 So why not, you know? Yeah, okay. I can see it. I haven't seen the show. But again, I think it should be... I think it should be Josh O'Connor. Josh O'Connor is... Who's there again?
Starting point is 00:36:00 The priest... Oh, yeah, I like that because he looks like a normal guy. Yeah. And he's tall. He's tall and he can throw a punch. Yeah. And I think, like... If you're slicking up...
Starting point is 00:36:08 He's a real goof in real life, clearly. Yeah. But I think if you're... Is he not tall, actually? I can he's 510. Here we are again. No, he's 6-1. There you go.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Which means he's 5-11. Yeah, but he's British, though. Yeah. I think he probably is. I don't care. I don't care how tall he is. You don't care? Nah, man.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Okay, but I think, but again, because in challenges, the first thing I saw him in was challenges. Yeah. And he's like a real slimy slick guy. Yeah, he's got a roguish charisma. So I think he could just translate that to Bond. And he was in that movie where he stole a painting and then got in trouble for it. That's true.
Starting point is 00:36:39 That's a good movie. The master of mine, yeah. Great. Yeah, I think that could work. Also, like, Ian Fleming, my understanding is Ian Fleming always thought that Sean Conner was too good looking. Well, that's the thing. But James Bond traditionally is supposed to be just a guy. Whereas Daniel Craig, I know you've said this before.
Starting point is 00:36:54 He looks like a shaved gorilla in a little tiny little shirt. In a lipstick in a week. He's a good one. Anyway, Romaine is out February 5th. Oh, you forgot about Romaine. What's the secret? We don't know. They're both ghosts.
Starting point is 00:37:08 They're all ghosts. The house is a ghost. Wow. That's the twist. House is a ghost and it's just a little kid playing with dolls in a house. Oh my God. That's right. And they're a ghost.
Starting point is 00:37:16 And they're in hell. What? For what? For all the crimes they did? All the doll related crimes. But the kid's not in hell. No, the kid's in hell. Okay, so it's just all in hell.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Everybody's in hell, yeah. I feel like that bloody right now, mate. And then it pulls back and it's on social media. Oh my God. Yeah. And we're all looking at it. We would be looking at it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:34 If there was a kid playing with dolls and he was really in hell and it was on social media. Yeah. But then also... I'd look at that for like 30. I'm like, what else is you going to do? Yeah, but am I watching the movie? Am I watching the dolls? You're watching a live stream of the boy in hell.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Okay. I probably wouldn't tune in, but I could see how that would become popular. Yeah. Yeah. And if it was going to be anywhere, it would be on Twitter. Yeah, it would be, wouldn't it? Anyways, the Wolverine game is out. Insomniac's latest. That's right.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Of course, did Spider-Man. Miles Morale's Spider-Man. But you said it is out, but it's not out. Sorry, coming out. Okay. Spider-Man, Miles Morale is Spider-Man, Spider-Man too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:12 They're also working on a Venom game in secret. Venom in secret. How do you know that? It just is. All right? Wow. Everybody knows as well. It's not a big deal, man.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Anyway, so they've reviewed, the reviews have gone out for the latest Wolverine game, which is supposed to kick off a new X-Men Wolverine franchise. Oh, yes. And reviews are not great. I wouldn't even say terrible, but all the people, like, for a AAA PS5 exclusive, insomnia, etc. This should be much, much, much better. Problems being the game pay loop is like fine, the combat's whatever.
Starting point is 00:38:46 It's quite simple. It's linear, which isn't necessarily bad, but apparently it's so linear and handholding. You've always got a Wolverine scent that you can't turn off. Okay. And people have looked into this and apparently they'll probably change. Not even by taking a bath? What's that? You can't even turn the Wolverine scent off if you go take a bath.
Starting point is 00:39:02 No, you can't. No, so the scent is what he follows, Mason. I know. I thought, I was, I thought, I didn't know we were doing jokes. I thought we'd stop doing jokes. I thought we'd stopped James You know how serious I am About the doing of jokes
Starting point is 00:39:16 We're always doing jokes We're always doing jokes Especially if we're wrong Yeah That's a joke You didn't get it Satire Yeah
Starting point is 00:39:25 Everything like it holds your hand It holds your hand through missions That are pretty much a corridor Okay Traversal is apparently boring Apparently quick time events Aren't even real You don't have to do them
Starting point is 00:39:35 Okay And they'll skip And it's all arrows And like very clear white paint that you have to go through. They're side challenges, but they're boring. And the story apparently is fine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:46 People are saying Liam McIntyre as Wolverine is quite good, though. That's good. And so two people, well, actually, we went on the podcast of, Jake Bell Dinner from GameRanks and Ralph from Skillup. I watch their reviews, among others. And I was like, and these are guys that like, yeah, we've spoken to, and I valued the opinion of. And I'm like, oh, this doesn't look great.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Is that also because the concept of the AAA game is sort of the appeal of it is waning to a certain degree and they all have a they're all sort of similar aren't they it does feel like so maybe this was the time to innovate yeah but it does definitely feel like to me and I know not all games are this but like oh this is a third person action game and whatever and this is how you go to B and you know like I does feel like I'm just seeing the same game again and again at this right and I know there are games that aren't doing this stuff but yeah but in the triple A space they also just got rid of kajima oh yeah Which also, like, I don't think Sony are making a lot of good decisions, including, like, physical media stuff and whatever.
Starting point is 00:40:45 But that decision I kind of understand, because I don't. Because he's too horny. He's too horny. But I think also his games aren't as, I don't think they're as much as they used to be big system sellers and they go wildly over budget. Right. Okay. And like, like, like, death stranding too, whatever. Like, people liked it, but it didn't sell like, you know, didn't do GTA numbers, which is probably what they wanted.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Yeah, sure. But nothing's going to do that, obviously. I don't, I think they're making a lot of bad decisions. But that one, I'm not, I'm not saying I agree with it, but I understand the thinking behind that decision. If they're not getting an R-O-I. Got to get that R-O-I. That's right, Mason. Didn't think you were, didn't think you were such a corpo guy, Jane.
Starting point is 00:41:26 I went to business school, Mason. Of course I'm a corpo guy. I never picked up my degree, but it still counts. It still counts, right? Yeah, I mean, maybe, I don't know. Yeah. Still, I could go get it. Do you think they still have it?
Starting point is 00:41:37 Yeah, there's probably, it's probably somebody sitting. they're waiting for me. Wow. It's the whole freaking job. No doubt. No doubt. Yeah. Yeah, well.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Anyway, as someone who doesn't have a PS5, I'll pick this up when it's like 30 bucks. Okay, then. How much is it now? 70 US. Okay. I love the idea of a linear storyline, which is like 15 to 18 hours and whatever.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Like, that's the game that I can do. Sink your teeth into it. Yeah. Sink your Wolverine teeth into it. Nom, num, num, num, no. Yeah. But I don't know. Apparently all sets up.
Starting point is 00:42:09 sequels and whatever, but we'll see if that happens. Well, Insomniac. How the tables have turned on you, Insomniac. Maybe it's time for you to get some shut-eye. Maybe stand up too late, maybe. Maybe get some melatonin or whatever. That's right. Or whatever.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Yeah. Yeah. All right, should we move from the next segment in the show? We're talking about the runner. We're not talking about that. We're talking about the movie runner. Runner. Runner.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Runner. Homestar Runner. The runner. No, runner. Runner. Runner. Runner. Runner.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Runner. How they know are. Very good. But we're back on track. I thought we'd lost it. No, Mason, not at all. I people don't know, but I made a pasta source in between this segment and the last. That's true.
Starting point is 00:42:47 And let me tell you, it was disgusting. It's only a little bit of pit of red at it. This guy's a maverick. I'm not a maverick? Wait, is that good? No. Then I'm not. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:59 All right. Good. Good. Great. Anyway, the runner. No, runner. Come on, man. Get it together.
Starting point is 00:43:05 This is a movie which is released to some of the world, it seems, and not to streaming? I don't know how that happened. Yeah, it's why, this one? Yeah, it looks, I mean, this poster, this poster, it's born to say Amazon Prime on it. Absolutely. Prime video exclusive.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Orange and blue, orange and teal or whatever. Yeah, my God, you know. But it's an odd. Two guys. Two guys, they're looking bewildered. There's one guy and another guy. One's a funny guy and one's an action guy. A big guy.
Starting point is 00:43:33 He's kidding me with this? I'm not kidding you, Mason. So this apparently, it's not really, been said, but it's got a budget of like $110 million. Okay. It does, it's, as it kept going, I'm like, oh, this is a bigger movie than I initially thought. There's more money and stunt working this than I would have thought. Box office, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Who knows? Probably not great. We're recording this on Saturday, so it's been out for like three minutes. Yeah, there's not a lot of box office information about it. But normally there's something of like, it's tracking like this. Yeah. But I don't actually know. Directed by Scott War?
Starting point is 00:44:07 Yeah. American film director and producer. editor and former stunt performer. So he directed, I know you saw nine minutes of need for speed in 2014. Yeah, and then I switched it off because it was so boring. He directed Expendful balls. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Which was Girl Spendables, right? Some of them were Girl Spendables, I think. I haven't seen that. I've only seen Expendables three. Yeah. Spendables three balls. Have you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:29 We talked about it. I'm assuming there's some kind of Australian tax incentive. Because it is. It was filmed in Australia. there are some Australian actors, numerous Australian actors I would say, including that lady. That lady. From Deadlock. From Deadlock.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Yeah, I like Deadlock. Whose name is, get this. I'm ready. Cape Box. Yeah. Also, it's interesting to know if you're looking at the Wikipedia, Dan Spillow was removed as a producer following a HR investigation into alleged an appropriate behavior, including bullying and yelling at crew.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Also, I think one of the interesting things about this. So this was pretty, this is released. via Angel Studios. But Mason, aren't there other people involved, including a higher standard, Broken Road Productions, industry entertainment, nickel city pictures,
Starting point is 00:45:16 2521 Entertainment? No, none of those people are involved. I don't know why you've brought those up. I don't know why you've said that word salad. It was just Angel Studios, as far as I know. So I think Angel Studios are probably most famous for releasing Sound of Freedom.
Starting point is 00:45:32 But, yeah. Okay, so here's the deal with Angel Studios. Angel Studios Incorporated. Branders as Angel since September 2025 is an American independent, publicly traded media company and film distributed based in Provo, Utah. Yeah, sounds great. It distributes films theatrically and operates the Angel streaming platform
Starting point is 00:45:49 where some titles are available free and most require membership in the Angel Guild. Sounds great. So... This gets you into heaven too as well, right? Yeah, yeah. The company originated as Vid Angel, a film filtering service that streamed recuts and censored versions of film. I do remember this.
Starting point is 00:46:03 In 2021, it's founders sold the filtering business and rebranded their content businesses, Angel Studios, shifting its focus towards crowdfunded film and television production and distribution. The company's current business model centers on the Angel Guild, a paid membership program whose members vote on film and television projects that the company may market and distribute. So people voted. They were like, you've got to release Angel.
Starting point is 00:46:28 You've got to release Runner. Yes. And they did, I guess. Absolutely. Angel Markets has output as values-based entertainment, Although he's not officially a Christian company, its slate includes numerous faith-based productions. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:40 The Sound of Freedom Thing, etc. They've also, they've got a movie coming out next year called Fing, which is based off the David Williams' 2019 Children's book. Oh, and Hershey, the story of the Hershey Chocolate Company. Fascinating stuff. What a thing? They also did this year. What's David Walth Williams deal?
Starting point is 00:46:59 Is he going to go to prison at some point? Probably not. Is he done some crimes? Probably. Is he done some crimes? He might have. He's done some stuff. We don't know, allegedly.
Starting point is 00:47:05 He's published a distance themselves, like, dropped him, which is really unusual because he sells a lot of books. So he must have done something pretty egregious. Also, they released that, you know, that AI, Young Washington movie? Oh, and they did. They distributed also Animal Farm, right? Oh, they did too. The Seth Rogen one. Or Seth Rogen's in it, or whatever.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Was Young Washington A.O. Am I thinking of something else? I don't know. But, so that's interesting. So, anyway, that's interesting all to say that what? What about this movie? Do you think they were like, this is the one for us?
Starting point is 00:47:40 The Angel Guild, voting on this. I kind of feel like... Because Jack Richard, Jack Richard guy, he's not like... He's a Christian. Yeah, but he's not like... He's not a Bible thumper.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Yeah, he's not... He's like that... He's a man thumper if you stop him on his bike. That's so true, isn't it? Yeah. He's, uh, I would say he's a, he's a Christian, like he's a small C Christian in this, like, like how a lot of people...
Starting point is 00:48:05 would have been years ago of like, hey, you should be nice to everybody kind of thing. Not like, you know, those other guys. Yeah. But I suspect if I had to guess, I would say who were like, I would love to know what the procedure is this. If anybody is part of the Angel Guild, I would love for you to email in and let it. First of all, let us in. We want to get into heaven.
Starting point is 00:48:26 Yeah, exactly. Yeah. They won't let me into the Masons despite my name. What? Yeah, I know. Maybe they would. I don't know. Isn't your name got an A in it though?
Starting point is 00:48:34 Yeah, does. Yeah. Nerson. Nicholas Mason. Neckless Mason. Is that why you grew that beard? Yes. So we can't see that you're necklace.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Yes. But it's interesting because I would love to know like what do you get to see the whole movie or do people? Yeah. Like I would love to know maybe it gets, does it, does it give it given to you in like one of those private streaming server platforms and you're supposed to watch it and go, is this a good movie? Because I suspect maybe that's the case and everybody watched the first fight. minutes and when this seems like a movie that is about Christian values and etc. Yeah. And it will have nothing objectionable.
Starting point is 00:49:13 But then again, like the sound of freedom is a guy shooting other guys. Is that what that movie's about? Yeah. I thought it was a documentary. No. It's got Jim Caviesel and he's like, God's true enough of sale and he shoots everyone. Oh, I didn't know that. And that's good.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Yeah, I think it's probably the same as, you know, because we saw that with ketchup entertainment and Cody V. Acme. Yeah. I think they just went, yeah, we'll tell you that one. It's got Alan Richon. He's Reacher. We can probably make some money back on this. He's got Owen Wilson.
Starting point is 00:49:37 He's one of the Google boys from Google boys. He's one of the Google boys. He was in the French dispatch, that would say. They would say that's interesting. He was a mainstay of the way as Anderson Uvra for a while, and then he just wasn't, but then he was in the French dispatch. Whoa. Have they had some sort of falling out?
Starting point is 00:49:51 I don't think they have. It doesn't seem that way. I think just probably... Nice cup watch, by the way. Thank you. Mm-hmm. Give me it. You can't have it.
Starting point is 00:50:00 Do you get a new band for that? No, can't have it. Very nice. Yeah, yeah. Isn't there something you're going to ask me, James? Isn't there something you're going to ask me? And then I act surprised that you've asked me. It's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:50:12 James, oh, come on, mate. What do you think the story was? Oh, come on, mate. All right. So, Alan Richardson is Hank, I think. Big Hank. I'm pretty sure he's Big Hank. Yep.
Starting point is 00:50:21 And he lives in Australia, despite being an American. What's he doing here? Hank the Yank. Hank the Yank. Someone says that to him, I think, at some point. It was me. He was me in the cinema, yeah. I said more like Hank the Yank.
Starting point is 00:50:30 There's a few things in here that are like references to Australia. I can't even think of one. But I'm like, because it's an American director, I'm like, that's a bit off. There are a couple of things. Like a few little things that are like. I think there was maybe some, there's some police calls, I think that's out of a bit. Or like, I think there's. There's just some language.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Yeah, like it's like, we don't call it that. We call the petrol station. That's right. That's true. I think there is a gas station. Yeah, yeah. We call it the servo. We call it go get a pie from the server and the pie's old.
Starting point is 00:51:00 Pie's an old pie Get a Sandwiching Anyway Alan Richson has a vague job Where he's a runner Yeah Which is that he's got a guy on the phone
Starting point is 00:51:09 He's the runner He's the No he's runner He's runner Runner The runner's taken Okay But he's runner
Starting point is 00:51:16 And he's got a vague job Where some guy calls him On the phone And says get a mate Get-e mate I'm your boss That's right Dave boss
Starting point is 00:51:24 Yeah that's right That's right You gotta pick up a bird And give it to another bird But I don't I meant... It's an actual bird. It's a literal bird, but the second one's a metaphor or something.
Starting point is 00:51:34 It's a euphemism for a different bird. I thought they were doing an Australian euphemism for bird. Yeah, but then it was a literal bird. But his job is to go and do like... He's Uber. Yeah, he's Uber. He's got a somewhat menial job where he transports things around, like the transporter, but not as much so.
Starting point is 00:51:51 There's some Jason Statham in this. There is a little bit of Jason Statham in this. Lone Samar. But he's also tortured on the inside. Because he's got... he's got a part history He's got a big HGH heart And that's torturing him on the inside
Starting point is 00:52:06 That's so true And he's got an ex-wife And he's got other stuff going on He's got Owen Wilson Well then Owen Wilson Yeah then he gets a call from his guy And the guy's like Hey listen
Starting point is 00:52:15 You've got to transport an organ It's a liver To a little girl You've got to transport You've got to transport this liver To this destination I'm going to give to you Just got to take it and take it there
Starting point is 00:52:25 And it's going to be great And he goes okay I'll do that But when the liver shows up It's not just the liver It's also Owen Wilson Wow, you might say. Wow. And I said wow.
Starting point is 00:52:32 I said wow. Because Owen Wilson is the guy that has to transport the special liver and the special liver box. And he's like, we're going to go to this hospital. We're in Brisbane. We have to go to the Gold Coast, which is a drive. It's a bit of a drive. It's heck heck of a drive. And he's like, I'm going to come with you.
Starting point is 00:52:47 And Alan Richon's like, oh, I work. I run alone. I run her alone. I'm the runner and I do it alone. And Alan Wilson's like, wow, but I disagree. And I have to come with you. And I'm annoying. I'm annoying.
Starting point is 00:52:57 I'm going to annoy you. Because you're stoic and I'm not stoic. Yeah. I won't shut up. I don't think that people say about me is that I'm annoying. Yeah. And I've got three ex-wives. And I don't think I'm annoying.
Starting point is 00:53:06 And Richard Richardson runner, he says, well, I've only got one ex-wife because of tragedy. Yeah, I'll tell you, but not yet. No, well, I'm not going to tell you because you're annoying. And then they get on the road. Yeah. But then somebody else wants to live it. It's crime. What's crime doing in Australia?
Starting point is 00:53:22 The crime industry. Americans bringing their crimes to Australia? Yeah. They're not bringing their best, Mason. They're not bringing their best. Rodrigo Santoro, who played Xerxes in the movie 300. It's true. And some side character on Lost.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Yes. And it reminded me of Crocodole Dundee, too, where the mafia of some description, organized crime came to Australia, but they weren't ready for what was in Australia. In this case, it was Alan Richardson, who's not Australian. No. And Owen Wilson, who's also not Australian. He's not Australian, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:55 So then they want to get that liver for reasons of their own. They want to eat it. Yeah, they want to eat it. And then they run around. Then it's the transporter for a bit. They run around and they drive around. They bike around and they learn to love each other. And it's pretty violent, I must say.
Starting point is 00:54:09 It's pretty violent. It's pretty violent in a way that I was not expecting for an Angel Studios. Pretty violent. And also like, oh, didn't think you would kill that guy. You know? Yeah. There's a few moments like that. This is, I think, and I think the villain is strong in this.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Like, it's a, it's a cartoon action. Yeah. It reminded me of a movie. I haven't seen since it came out, the movie's cellular with Chris Evans. Sure. Like that kind of just like, get it going. Yeah, running around. Running around.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Get to the servo. Cool, great guy, but he's, but they don't know. The run down? Yeah, they run. No, really. They don't know, yeah, I guess. They don't know who they're up against. It's Jack Ritcher.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I think the action's good. I think he's badder some people pretty well. So he is a different character than Ritcher. Like if you're like, oh, it's just going to be Alan Richardson playing Ritcher. Reacher. No, he likes French stuff. No. Ritcher definitely has autism and his
Starting point is 00:55:06 his special interest is beating people up and being stoic. Yeah. But this guy's a different guy. Yeah. Like he's got a... He's got some tricks up his sleeve. Well, he's got some tricks up his sleeve, but he is more... He's more... He's more a human, less of a... less of a just a beating people on a machine. Although he does beat people up a lot. But also, like, by the end, like, he's hurt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:26 And he's like, oh. Like, he's not... He's not invincible. And I think there's some really, like I said, I think there's some great stunt car work in this as well. Yeah. Like there's a few genuine actual car flips and rolls and smashes in this. Yeah. There's a fight sequence with a car that is in the room and one of its wheels is going. Yeah, very quite. And that's used.
Starting point is 00:55:47 Some innovative, yeah, stunt work involving cars and action and cover and yeah. Yeah. Interesting. The guns also never look real. No, not entirely. They're doing that non-functional gun. and then they're doing the CGI. Yeah, which, you know, which it is safer.
Starting point is 00:56:04 There's a, I would say there's one sequence to... Also, you probably can't get most of those guns. No. Like, you absolutely could not get firing versions of those guns in Australia, I'd imagine. I think that there is one sequence towards the end, like the mad dash at the end, that's a oneer, but that doesn't feel like a real moment. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah, sure, sure, sure.
Starting point is 00:56:22 Where the camera's, like, zipping in and out of different cars and whatever. But I think for the most part, it looks and feels... Like a real movie? And, you know, and it is that thing of like... The benefit also is we did see this in cinemas. I reckon if we saw this home... Oh, totally. If I watch this is a different experience. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:36 Me and you were able to lock in. Those two guys behind us, they were able... They didn't talk. Yeah, they didn't talk. Which I was surprised. I thought they were going to. They probably thought we were going to talk. Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:56:45 We had to have a talk. Excuse me. Yeah. Excuse me. We would have... We're just trying to, we're just here trying to enjoy the movie runner. I know that sounds unbelievable. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:53 But we're here to watch this movie. You might think this is the movie runner. But no, this is the runner. No. And then they corrected us. And then we got along. We got along in the end, didn't we? Yeah, it's true.
Starting point is 00:57:05 And it's like an hour and a half that's in and out. Yep. It's brisk. Yeah. There's not a post-credit sequence inside. That's true. I think, I don't know if you would, I mean, I think it definitely, like you said, it benefited for us, us seeing it in cinemas.
Starting point is 00:57:20 But, you know, you could, I guess you could wait for this if you. Yeah. You don't need to rush out to see it necessarily, what you say. Don't need to run around, do you? Do you? They don't need to run around, do you? obviously. You got to support those studios.
Starting point is 00:57:32 And also if you're in the guild, let us know email in and tell us. How do you do it? I want to know what the deal is. What do they pay you? I don't think you. I don't think they pay you. No? No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:57:43 I was going to say we could do some spoilers, but has anybody seen this and should we do that? We could do it. Oh, I mean, I'm going to say best movie ever. You're going to say best movie ever? Pretty solid, surprisingly. Also, like, it was a very last minute decision for us. Yeah, I'll say a movie. We're like, it's only 10 minutes.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Let's go. Let's go. Yeah. And it was, yeah, it was, it was good. I liked it.
Starting point is 00:58:05 Yeah. Unless, of course, some really crook stuff comes out about Angel Studios, in which case we'll recommend you don't watch it. I don't think that's true. If you've Googled Angel Studios just now, based on what we've said,
Starting point is 00:58:14 and the first 10 results are all the crook stuff, what they've done, you don't have to see. We're not saying probably doesn't, doesn't over time. Yeah, just sign up to Angel Studios. Dot net or whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:58:25 Yes, exactly. But they do a lot of faith-based movies, including Zero AD, the birth of Christ, that's coming out this year. A fake movie. Angel and the Bad Man,
Starting point is 00:58:32 drummer boys coming out. The Brink of War. That's a... Is that a sequel to Brink? The Disney Channel movie? I believe it is, yes. Solo Mio. These are all movies I know.
Starting point is 00:58:42 I disagree with you. You don't even know what I'm talking about. You don't even know what I'm talking. Well, Brink of War's got Jeff Daniels, Jared Harris, and J.K. Simmons. All right. Because one of them plays Gorbachev and whatever, whatever. Oh, Solo Mio.
Starting point is 00:58:57 American Romantic comedy. And they've released Quokker's Wildlife and Quokker Docks Amazing Real Animals. I love real animals. 20 episodes all together? 20 episodes, that's great about Quakers and stuff. Homestead, that's the Jason Statham one, isn't it? I don't know. Is that the one we asked to defend his Homestead?
Starting point is 00:59:15 Homestead the series? No, the... Okay. No, sorry, this is a different one. This is another... There is a Jason Statham, something called... Okay, because Homestead the series picks up where the Homestead film left off. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:59:27 Yeah. Also, Onslaught. isn't out here yet. No, I didn't see that. Anyway, uh, yeah. Home front. He did home front. The home front. Apologies. Apologies, big apologies, everybody. Do you want to do any spoilers or we'll just leave it at that? We'll just leave it at that, I think. Yeah. Angel Studios, check them out. That's right. They're a studio on the rise. Use off a code. We support everything they do. That's right. Not a cult. They're not a cult. I don't think. You might think we're joking. We're not. We don't know, though. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:59:54 Honestly, we don't know. Should we move to the next segment of the show? Let's do it. What is it? It's got what we're reading. we? Gonna read. I'm going to check on that pasta sauce. Nice. Should we leave that all in when I check on the pasta sauce? Yes, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Great. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. What? What? I'm checking on the pasta sauce. Okay, all right then. I'm doing nothing. Bap-Badada.
Starting point is 01:00:24 We talk about things we're watching or reading or listening or doing. Ain't that true. Have you watched a movie? I've watched so many movies this week, actually. Okay, sorry. Let me. Can you name? any of the movies you've said?
Starting point is 01:00:36 No. Okay. No. I'll talk about... They're all gone like tears and rain. Tears and rain. Have you seen the movie It Ends? No, I haven't seen the movie It Ends. I have. See, I was going to say that seemed like a leading question. You were like, oh, if you see this...
Starting point is 01:00:50 Actually, I just want to talk about the movie It ends. I threw it open to you. I said, have you seen any movies? You knew I hadn't. You knew I hadn't seen the movie It Ends. No, before that I was like, talk about any movie that you've said it. You chose not to. No, you didn't. You asked me if I could recall any of them.
Starting point is 01:01:03 I can't. So what would you talk about then? If you can't recall, I guess you can look at your phone. Feelings. I can talk about feelings. Mason, you can't talk about feelings. Huh. The feelings aren't real.
Starting point is 01:01:12 It's just memories and emotions. It's all chemicals, Mason. It doesn't, nothing means anything. Would you say it's gone? Would you say it's gone like Tiz and Ray? No. Cold logic is the only thing that matters and is good. It's so true, isn't it?
Starting point is 01:01:24 Because you can own people with it. You can own people publicly in the public free market place of ideas. So true, isn't it? God, you're getting hysterical. I am. And that's a weakness. You look ridiculous. So what did you see?
Starting point is 01:01:37 I saw the movie Hope, which is a Korean movie. And what did she think of it? What? You look ridiculous. That's true. That's true. But my opinions on movies are sound. So it's a classic, it's a monster movie.
Starting point is 01:01:52 It's very much in the style of, I would say, the host. Oh, the host, I like that. The host was good. Yeah, the host was a fish monster with legs and they run around. Yeah. So it's about a little, little, Small, sleepy little Korean town. A sort of somewhat bumbling police chief.
Starting point is 01:02:08 And he gets sent out to the local hunters have found a cow with big claw marks in it. And they're like, what the fricks this? Is it a bear? And he's like, this isn't a bear. It's a bear. It's a cow. You can tell. Look at the shape of it.
Starting point is 01:02:19 Yeah, because if it's a cow like an agent. It's a cow and it's got a claw mark in. It's a cow. Yeah. Exactly. But then it turns out big monster. What was it? There's a lot going on.
Starting point is 01:02:28 It's a long movie. One big monster? I couldn't say. I couldn't say how many big monster there is. Okay. Yeah. Anyway, go on. Does the trailer spoil anything from this?
Starting point is 01:02:37 Because I think it does, doesn't it? You don't really get a good look at any monster. Okay. It might be in this movie. Singular, yeah. Yes. Okay. How did you feel about this movie, all in all?
Starting point is 01:02:47 It's quite, I enjoyed it overall, I would say. Like I said, it is very long. There's a lot of kind of, there's a lot of chase sequences, which I think are quite well done. Would you say also don't look this movie up because it will tell you who's in it? Yeah, I would say that also, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I enjoy.
Starting point is 01:03:03 there's some sort of good buddy cop moments he runs into like this local I don't know Bo Hunter kind of character and they team up briefly and yeah I mean it's all it's oh it's yeah like I said it's over long I think
Starting point is 01:03:16 and there's some stuff I can't that I don't I shan't be spoiling I think but I do believe the director already has a sequel in mind I don't know if that's going to be made but it's it's the most expensive Korean movie hope floats oh okay could it guess
Starting point is 01:03:33 you know who directed that? Who? You'll never guess in a million years. But you should guess. Hopefully. What year is it? Give me the year it came out, roughly. Early 2000, 2002 or something?
Starting point is 01:03:43 Or maybe like, hang on, I'll look it up. I'm going to say Tom Seismore. Oh, are you closer than you'd think? 1999 it came out. Okay. Well, that would have got it right if I knew when the year it came out. Okay, guess one more. Guess one more guy.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Let me say Tom Seismore again. Tom Seismore again? Yeah. It's Forrest Whitaker. Were they in anything together? They might have. but put it in there with the AI machine and it'll tell you.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Boris Whitaker, really. Yeah, that's right. But I was going to say, they're in the witness protection TV movie from 1999. All right, that's great. Yeah, there you go. The CGI for the monster is not...
Starting point is 01:04:21 I've heard it's not great. Incredibly great, but I think you do settle into it. I think there are some scenes where it's keyed in a little bit weird and it does look unreal, but there are some bits where it looks unreal. Oh, wow. Like the Unreal Engine. Yeah, like the Unreal Engine.
Starting point is 01:04:33 It's a cast. I mostly don't recognize, except for Jung Ho-Yon, who is from Squid Game. She's the... One of the leads. Yeah, one of the lead Squid gamers. Well, it's good. Leads Squid gamers. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Yeah, a bit of fun. Highly recommend? I would say probably see it in cinemas if you can. I think it would probably benefit from a big screen. I saw it in IMAX. It's also... It's... It's...
Starting point is 01:04:58 It's... It's... It's... The White's IMAX. The Melbourne Central IMAX. It doesn't count. Yeah, it doesn't... It's barely an IMAX.
Starting point is 01:05:04 They have a different name for it. No, it is, it is Armax. What? I guess I licensed it out. Oh my God. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Pretty good. Well, I saw the movie, It Ends. Oh, yeah. Here we go. Written directed and edited by Alexander Ola. Skars God. No. Oh.
Starting point is 01:05:22 So it's, what's amazing about this movie? It's on an 80K budget. Okay. And it goes such a long way, like the movie. Because what it's basically about, it's about four friends in a car. Uh-huh. And they're going on a little road trip adventure.
Starting point is 01:05:33 They've done college together and life together. So they're good friends. They're good friends. Anyway, they take a turn onto this road and they're just kind of chatting away or whatever. And they realize at a certain point that, oh, we must have missed a turn off. And they turn around. And then that's when they realize that. They've been exited.
Starting point is 01:05:50 They've been exited. They're on what appears to be an endless road. Oh, damn. Who are they Brian Adams? What are they Brian Adams? The guy that did Life as a Highway, that guy. Brian Adams. It wasn't Brian Adams.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Brian Adams did it. And so that, but it's not only that, it's their car seemingly. Tom Cochran. Tom Cochran, seemingly goes forever. Like it won't, the petrol does not run out. They don't get hungry, they don't need sleep. It sounds wonderful. You think so.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Yeah. So they're just on this road and maybe they bump into some other people along the way. Do they run into Tom Seismore? Yes. Huh. Even though he's dead in real life. Wow. Well, that's spooky.
Starting point is 01:06:32 It is. I know. And so it becomes this, and people react differently. You're also for reasons that the movie tells you very early on. You can't stop for too long. Okay. So you have to keep. Because you'll need to we.
Starting point is 01:06:45 Dry you got to wee. Yeah. Well, they don't need to we. Wow. God, this does sound amazing. As I was a man of a certain age. Yeah. The fact that they never need to we, put me in that car.
Starting point is 01:06:56 Absolutely. But it's an on and on road. It seems forever and ever. And some of them handle it better than others or have different coping strategies. Yeah. And, you know, and there's a certain point where it's like, you know, people are trying to figure out what is the point of this? Is there a game? Are we supposed to do something? Are we stuck in an endless runner mobile game? Are we dead? Yeah. You know, is there a purpose to this? Is there a point? Is this just a metaphor or whatever? Is life as a highway? Is life as a highway? So I really enjoyed it. I thought it was fantastic. Really well acted, really upsetting. And not in like a spooky big spooks way. Okay, but in an acting way. Just in the, yeah, an acting and just the idea of like being in a situation like this.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Yep. And like maybe, you know, and just trying to puzzle out something which it's incomprehensible like what is happening. I've already comprehended it. You've already figured it out. It's a paradise dimension when you never have to pee. It's not that. Reminded a bit of the movie Vavarium Exit 8. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:53 Which we've seen that which we talked about not that long ago. Yeah, and I think like, because I, what's the book that I read recently about an infinite library or whatever? Yeah, that one. What's the book that I read? Oh, yeah, you mentioned it, didn't you? Yeah. Mr. Magoriam's Endless Librarium. I bought it.
Starting point is 01:08:08 It's not that. It's not the lower of Babel and whatever, whatever. What the hell is it called? Is it called Dr. Demento's Grand Librarium? It is, yes, that's right. Whatever it is, if somebody asks it, we'll put it in the Reddit and the thing. The Librarium of Dr. Parnassus. Correct.
Starting point is 01:08:23 But it's the idea of something that is seemingly endless or so big that you can't comprehend the scale of it, is like, I find really upsetting. Like one of those big digging machines Like a big digging machine, yeah Like there's nothing For me there's nothing worse Than just an infinite kind of consciousness Is it like a liberal space but in reverse? It's a bit, yeah, it is liminal spacey
Starting point is 01:08:45 But you know the idea that like I don't know, I don't like You know the idea that if you could live forever and ever The planet would explode And then you'd just be hurtling through space You know like that Because you wouldn't need to pee That's what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:08:58 I'll be passing by alien civilization and I'll be like, you guys need to pee? Not me. But you just get stuck somewhere. And then you'd have to wait for that to plan to explode. And then you get stuck somewhere else and it would just be a billion, billion, billion, billion, billion, billion trillion years. Well, given the fact that neither risk nor anyone will ever have to deal with that, I'm going to say that I'm on board with that. And I would love for that to happen to me specifically.
Starting point is 01:09:20 Find story of your life book. What is this called? Come on, I do something. No, not going to do it, are you? Wow. Not going to do it. It's all right. everybody who's listened to the podcast already knows what you're talking about and they're screaming
Starting point is 01:09:33 at their phones. Well, they should. A short stay in hell. Short stay in hell. Thank you by Stephen Al Peck. Nobody at me. You're going to leave all that bit. You all sound ridiculous at home.
Starting point is 01:09:44 I was going to say you sound ridiculous. They don't even know what they're talking about. They're emotional is what's happening. I've learned. What I've learned recently. Yeah, man. He's getting emotional is one of the worst things you can do. You lost if you got emotional.
Starting point is 01:09:53 You lost if you got emotional. If you care about anything, then you got emotional, then you're an idiot. That's right. Don't care about anything. Because me, I don't care about anything and nothing matters, so I'm above it all. And I see both, all sides. Not just both sides, they see all sides. That's right.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Yeah. It's the foundational text, Goon with the Wind. A seminal text, you might say. It's a book? Maybe. I reckon it was a book at some point. All right. Helen Dean Foster did the adaptation of Goon with the Wind. Why did he do that?
Starting point is 01:10:22 I don't know, man. Is he a fan? Maybe. Sometimes you just take a pay job. Yeah. Should we move on the next segment of the show? And is it the latest segment? It is the letter segment.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Yeah. As we do every week, we do it. We have a wonderful time. Yeah. And here it goes. Here's the thing. The classic one was, Letters, oh, letters.
Starting point is 01:10:41 We love you. Some letters. They're only a take away. We know they're here right now. We're going to do letters. If you don't reach the show, go to the Planet Broadcasting Greatmates Group and there's a letter segment.
Starting point is 01:10:55 Or, don't even do that. Send an email to, to weekly planetpot at gmail.com. That's right. You can hit me up on Twitter. I got my Twitter back, Mason. Colling's got it back because a fine gentleman whose name I cannot remember.
Starting point is 01:11:07 Elon Musk. Elon Musk. Got my Twitter and then held onto it and then Collings took it over. Oh. So you are... Sounds like you owe two guys your life. I was going to go back into...
Starting point is 01:11:18 You should split the crypto money with him. I probably should. Yeah. I'm just going back through Slack to find the name of the guy, but it turns out Slack's like, well, you've got to upgrade Slack. If you got a subscription service for Slack, and then you can see your past messages.
Starting point is 01:11:29 You've signed up to... Congratulations on signing up for Slack. We've given you the broken version. None of it works, and you have to pay for a working version. What's ridiculous about this? And then next month, you're going to... You're going to have to go to Slack Plus because regular Slack that you pay for is also going to be broken.
Starting point is 01:11:43 We're going to break it. That sounds good. So you're going to have to pay more. It's ridiculous because, like, I don't even want Slack. I'm only using it because I have to. Why would I pay for it? Yeah. God damn.
Starting point is 01:11:53 Anyway, Mason, you got anything in your weekly planet email? Let's take a pause and then I'll... Let's take a little pause and then I'll... Let's take a little pause. I'll check on that pasta. What's an email that you've got? Here's an email. What's an email?
Starting point is 01:12:07 This is from Hank. Hank. Who says, help with a kangaroo-related debate. First of all, Hank, that's racist. Yeah. We don't know all about kangaroos. But we're going to know this. We're going to know this.
Starting point is 01:12:16 We know most things about kangaroos. Hello, James and Mason. I'm going to get straight to the point. I sincerely believe that I could defeat a kangaroo in one-on-one combat. This is not a prideful belief or me trying to posture, I just sincerely believe that as a 21-year-old man, who is decently physically fit and had some martial arts training, I would be more than capable of taking on a kangaroo in single combat.
Starting point is 01:12:36 This belief has been ridiculed and mocked by everyone I've talked to, my friends, my family, and even my wife doubt me. They think I'm ridiculous for this, and we'll be killed by a kangaroo if we were to battle. While I understand that kangaroos have claws and can kick, I just think that I have good enough agility, but I will be able to dodge their blows, and if they got punched in the head, they would not know how to react. To be clear, I think people vastly overestimate kangaroos and believe that the most capable adults
Starting point is 01:13:00 could easily hold their own in combat with a kangaroo. The conditions of the fight are an empty fist, no holds barred brawl. No weapons and no environmental factors, me versus an average kangaroo. I mean, an average kangaroo... I have argued about this for years now to avoid... No avail. I've seen as many kangaroo fighting videos as I can find on YouTube
Starting point is 01:13:17 and they do not dissuade me in the slightest. I thought it was time for some input from the locals. Help me, James and Mesa, you are my only hope, sincerely hang. Okay, so a kangaroo also is not going to fight you unless it has to. Yeah. Or you've aggravated it. An average kangaroo, I think there's a chance that it would just not engage or if it would do it would do enough to clear some space. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:38 But if you fought, like if a kangaroo, even an average kangaroo went all out. An average kangaroo stands 1.5 to 1.8 meters, so 5 to 6 feet tall. Yeah. And that's real. That's real height. Yeah. It's not Hollywood height. And weighs 55 to 90 kilograms, which is 121 to 100.
Starting point is 01:13:54 198 pounds. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So this is, this, this, this would have to be a riled up kangaroo. It'd have to be right. And also, yeah, I know he said claws or whatever, but what you are, what you were missing here is. Also, if you punch a kangaroo in the head, nothing will happen.
Starting point is 01:14:09 Yeah, oh, totally. I mean, we've seen videos of people, to the kangaroo. To the kangaroo. So the kangaroo, they got like tiny brains. Like, it's not going to matter. So a kangaroo, what, they are like 90% muscle. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:21 If you hit a kangaroo in your car, it will obliterate your. car. Yeah. And so I've said this before I was driving where I used to live back back when I was a young lad and I was driving and there's a lot of kangaroos in that area. And I drove and a kangaroo jumped out and I slammed my foot on the brake. And I reckon I tapped it at about 5Ks an hour and it just looked at me and it jumped away. Like nothing.
Starting point is 01:14:46 They can jump by after you fully hit them as well. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And of course the number one concern is that and people have experienced this, they hit the kangaroo with a car, it goes through the windscreen. And then you've got a, then you've got a scared, enraged kangaroo inside your car and it starts kicking. Where you are. Where you are, exactly.
Starting point is 01:15:02 Yeah. So, but the kick on a kangaroo would completely, like if you got properly kicked, it would cave your chest in. Yeah. Like 100, it would break your bones like it was nothing. Somebody's doing, there's this, this thing I've been seeing on social media recently, and I'm sure it's a publicity stunt, but some MMA guys like, I'm going to fight a chimpanzee. Did you see this?
Starting point is 01:15:22 Is that really going to happen? of course it's not going to happen. It wouldn't happen for real. Because either it's going to be a man just assaulting a chimpanzee. Yeah. Like just punching it in, coming out of nowhere, punching the head. Or you rile it up and it will kill you. Absolutely. Like that's, people underestimate.
Starting point is 01:15:37 Yeah. Also, martial arts training, it's not going to mat. None of that matters. It doesn't fight like that. How you got a rear naked choke a kangaroo? You can't. You don't know where it's, where its... Parts are.
Starting point is 01:15:48 Where its arteries are. Look, I appreciate the thought you've put into this. Yeah, absolutely. I don't want you to think that I'm not impressed. by this email because I am. But no, if a kangaroo was properly riled up, it would kill you. Yeah. Or serious, it wouldn't even, and a kangaroo wouldn't like kick you and then keep kicking you.
Starting point is 01:16:04 It would kick you to stop you. Yeah, but that would be enough. Yeah, and a clear distance. But a proper, like, also, like, if you haven't seen, like, a muscular kang, you've clearly never seen one up close. You clearly never seen my camera roll. If you haven't seen a series of muscular kangaroos. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:16:20 They're ridiculous. Yeah. Especially like the big, like, pack leading ones. You might be thinking of a wallaby. Yeah, wallaby's a, yeah, probably a wallaby, it would be fine. But also, yeah, like I said, kangaroos don't fight, but they kill dogs easily. Yeah. Like, they'll, yeah, and again, like, and you mentioned the claws, but yeah, if they kicked you with force with the claw, it would cut you, like, clean open. Yeah, 100%. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:43 Anyway, I mean, good luck. Oh, I mean, if you want to try it, yeah, that's fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we think that would be brave. Also, this is also that sort of situation where, like, if you put yourself in a situation like this and you got killed. killed by a kangaroo, or grievously injured, people are like, oh, that's, okay, you shouldn't have done that.
Starting point is 01:16:58 Or if you went and you beat up a kangaroo, you went to a nature reserve and you beat up a kangaroo, people were like, why'd you beat up a kangaroo? It's no win situation, except if you did beat up a kangaroo, that's a win.
Starting point is 01:17:07 Yeah, you could also easily bit of a koala, I imagine. Oh, easily. But don't do that. That'll also scratch you. Yeah, and you'll get chlamydia. Yeah, because they all have chlamydia. That's right.
Starting point is 01:17:16 I don't know if it's special koala chlamydia or just regular chlamydia, but... From what I've heard, it's the same chlamydia that you have. Okay, let me just check my camera off. Yep, the results are in it is the same. Liam says, would you be interested in doing
Starting point is 01:17:29 Welcome to Racco City or Resident Evil CGI movies? The CD-1 are pretty solid. That's what people say. I've had enough. I've had enough Resident Evil for a while. I'm going to say real Resident Evil next week. That's what I want to say. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:41 But I would do the live action series and the reboot movie for sure. Yeah. But yeah, in an answer to that, Mason. But what about you in terms of emails? That was a quick one. That's right. I've others. I've others. I've others.
Starting point is 01:17:54 I've got plenty of emails. I don't worry about it. Okay, here's one. Here's one. This is Lewis. Lewis. Hey boys, have you heard the conspiracy that digger? Well, I guess it's not a conspiracy of the secret.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Oh yeah, this is interesting. The digger is a secret musical. The grandeur the dancing spinning platforms might be something, thoughts. Okay, well, I, so this room has been going around. There, I know that. Jason has talked about a popularized. My understanding is something is up with this movie. I agree.
Starting point is 01:18:17 I've seen people, but people, I've seen people, do that vague posting thing on social media where they're like, if people actually knew what was going on in this movie, they wouldn't want to see it. Guess what? Nobody wants to see it. No, no, this is not going to do it. The general public is not going to want to see it. I'll be there day. Oh, absolutely. Me and you were going to be there. But the thing
Starting point is 01:18:33 is about, you know, the reason the people think it might be is because one of the examples is that, like, the movie Wonka hit a musical, Barbie. A musical, like, all musical numbers in it. And people, Sweeney Todd, an example of, they didn't want to market it because sometimes studios are like, all
Starting point is 01:18:49 people know it's a musical. But Variety have released an article over the weekend that the title is, No Tom Cruise's Digger isn't a musical. There you go. I would also say that it's possible that there are musical numbers in it. But it's not technically a musical. Yeah, maybe, yeah. So I think this is...
Starting point is 01:19:06 Because Tom, we know Tom Cruise loves to put on a weird fat suit and he did, it was in top of Rock Avengers. That's true. And he did Tropic Thunder. Yeah. He did the dance. So it wouldn't shock me if there is something akin to that. in this movie. Absolutely. I think there might be he plays a song and dances like you said.
Starting point is 01:19:24 I think a rumor I also maybe heard was that it's a play within a movie or something like that or like there's an additional layer to this movie. Now to be clear, I don't want to know. Don't email in. But but there is, my understanding is there's something of a layer to this. But also, yeah, this looks too weird for people to go and see. Yeah. It's just it looks unpleasant, the color palette, the horrible cat. The horrible cat. Everybody looks. But that's the thing. I love all these weird people. I love everything's weird and Dr. Strange love and God.
Starting point is 01:19:55 Dr. Strange. Yes. Yes. But I think it's interesting that Variety have come out and confirmed that it's not. Yeah. Because Variety is a PR machine for... That's true. Which makes me think the studio saw this and got scared.
Starting point is 01:20:09 Yeah. And wanted to get ahead of it. Maybe they'll release an article after it's come out that's like, Loll, just kidding. We got you big time. It was a musical Loll and it was a play within a movie, Loll. We got you. You're a dumber.
Starting point is 01:20:19 That's right. You've got your money, you dumb ass. James and Mason only. That's right. Well, you got a variety. Jonathan says, how many Godzilla movies have you watched? Have you seen the original or any of the classic Toho ones? Yes, we have one for Carabana Garbage.
Starting point is 01:20:32 A Carabana Garbage on old school Godzilla movies would be great with Minas Zero and Supernova coming out. We have looked at the original Godzilla and the original King Kong for Caravanna Garbage. Correct. I've seen like bits and pieces. Yeah, it's mostly snippets for me. But I, but like, the original Toho series up until like, what did that stop? the 70s or 80s, I don't even know. I haven't seen most of those.
Starting point is 01:20:52 Correct, yes. Yeah, I've watched James Rolf talk about it at cinemassica.com. That's right. But I don't really have a desire to go and go back to those. How do you feel? No, I do not wish to.
Starting point is 01:21:03 Yeah. No, that's right. But again, I was fortunate enough to see minus one in IMAX, which was nice. Yeah, that would have been incredible. They did a very limited run of that in Melbourne. Limited run. So, uh, not at the moment, but maybe.
Starting point is 01:21:17 Hmm. And we love Godzilla. 98. Yes. Don't we? We do. We do. Mason, what's another email?
Starting point is 01:21:25 His name I'm from RJ. Hello, James and Mason. As I sit watching the NFL game in Melbourne, it got me thinking that a large part of American sports is attempting to force the rest of the world to watch our favorite sports. Correct. Does Australia have comparable sports movies, perhaps telling the story of legend of the game, Anthony Coutafides? Oh, wow, he's a legend of the game.
Starting point is 01:21:42 Do we have? We've got a few. Most of the comedies. Cracker Jack is about... Lawn bowls. Lawn Bowles, yeah. Is there any cricket movies, like the Warwick Todd books? I know there are, there's like holding the man, which is about, is that a, it's a, it's a coming out story, but is that, is that, we do a lot of, or we do have a history of like, I think it's mostly about, it'll mostly be TV shows and it'll mostly be about sports scandals.
Starting point is 01:22:12 Yeah, okay. So like anybody cheating or I think, Don Bradman. Don Bradman. I'm pretty sure they did a mini series on like there was some there was some oh the are the tampering their ball tampering scandal yeah body line they did a body line series about the pom's doing the body line to us yeah that's right cricket and whatever which i'm against personally there's a couple horse racing movies as well yep even though horse racing is atrocious but no i wouldn't say there's not really like i know there are like inspirational like afl you'd think there would be more i mean it's also like was a straight i don't
Starting point is 01:22:47 loves sport more than anything. True, but the thing is, AFL, yeah, there are Australian rules 2002, that's based on the book Deadly Anna, I believe. And there's like documentaries
Starting point is 01:23:00 the final quarter, Adam, with a bit about Adam Goods and things like that. Not things like that, that is what it's about, an Australian, it's about things like that. It's a player
Starting point is 01:23:08 who people will really race us towards. But Australian football, I think, it's not as big as, like, it's huge here. Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 01:23:16 I don't particularly care about it. But I'll, you know, I'll watch it of whatever friends are watching it. But it's very localized. So I don't think the market is here for it. Yeah. I think Americans would, if there was a... I think they like real sport. They're not going to see a movie
Starting point is 01:23:31 about... I think they would see an AFL game. I think that people, I find Americans generally, when you show them AFL, they're like, oh, I like this. This is fun. Yeah, but I don't know anything. No, they don't know anything, exactly. I wonder if it's also because, because in America,
Starting point is 01:23:47 you know, it's college football and that's such a huge thing. And then people graduate from college football to the real thing. And there's so many opportunities for big stories about people who started from nothing. And then they work their way up kind of thing. You know, there's so much of that where I guess in Australia it is, I mean, it's just, you know, a smaller population. And I guess you start in VFL and then you move to the AFL, I guess. No, generally not. It's like a different pipeline now.
Starting point is 01:24:13 Okay. If you've got a kid now in Australia right now who's not, hasn't been like, Like a scout hasn't been found by the time they're like 10. There's no AFEL, man. It's not happening. But see, what if there was? What if they found me? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:24:24 And it turned out I was really good at football. That would be amazing if that was the thing that happened. Yeah. Yeah. And they could call the movie Meso, Super Football Man, big kicks and more. Is this something that's going to happen to you and then there's going to be a movie, is what you're saying. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Okay, yeah, yeah, cool. I should probably learn how to play football. You don't need to do anything. Okay, great. If you get that good at it, it's unnecessary. There's that movie Rudy, you know, the American movie about that guy and he finally gets one game or whatever, which my understanding is it's all nice. He didn't get one game? No, I think he did get one game, but everybody hates him.
Starting point is 01:24:57 I think he's, I don't think he was... They should have given him a second game. Give him another chance. Give him another game. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. But there should be a, yeah. There's Australian sport in movies, like adjacent, but there's not as many that are just like, this is what this is about. Yeah, it's interesting.
Starting point is 01:25:15 Unlike that FIFA movie Which came out recently Which is just FIFA propaganda Yeah Like we gotta get We should get Shane Jacobson Yeah
Starting point is 01:25:23 To make an AFL movie And they could call it That's a thing Because like AFL FANs are like rabid For AFL Yeah but I think I think it's Again I think it's different
Starting point is 01:25:32 I guess I don't like movies though Yeah Like I like movies And Marvel movies All right But I wouldn't go see A play of a Marvel movie I would love to see a play
Starting point is 01:25:41 Of a Marvel movie But you wouldn't I would I'd say it once. I'd be the one guy in the audience. Yeah. So you watch Avengers Infinity War on ice. Of course I would.
Starting point is 01:25:53 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I just, I don't know. I think it's different. But I wouldn't legally be allowed to use Ice Man, so they'd have to invent some other scenario in which... Okay, yeah. It was on ice.
Starting point is 01:26:04 It was on ice. Yeah. Was that your email? It was. Oh, yes. It's when Brian, he says, do you guys still buy physical media when it comes to movies and TV shows? No.
Starting point is 01:26:12 Sometimes. I try to. I buy comics and videos. video games and books. Those are my physical medias. Yeah. What about you? I will...
Starting point is 01:26:19 I like it. Yeah. And I'm glad people do it, but I don't. Yeah. I never really was a physical media movie. No. I will tend to buy one if I... Oftentimes I'll see, you know,
Starting point is 01:26:32 somebody recommend a movie on the socials or whatever, and I go. Oh, in records. Oh, and I'll stream that. And it's just not available anywhere to buy all rent. And I'm like, all right, well... James, can you get me that for my birthday, you say? I'm tracking down the blue way. James, I want to get a blue way for my birthday.
Starting point is 01:26:44 That's you, every birthday. That's right, exactly. Yeah. I don't know how to get a Blu-ray, I say. James, how do I get a Blu-ray? I don't know where the Blu-ray store is. I forgot again. I know you wrote it down.
Starting point is 01:26:56 But I ate the piece of paper that you wrote it down on. I want a Blu-ray though. I thought by eating the piece of paper with the address of the Blu-ray store on it, I'd learn where the Blu-ray store was. Did you? No. No. No.
Starting point is 01:27:10 Oh, Mason. Any more? Is that the end of the end? I'm sure I've got another email. I'm sure I've got another email. It doesn't sound like you do. I've got an email. There's the kangaroo one.
Starting point is 01:27:21 It's the NFL one. Oh yeah. Yes. Oh, by the way, at big sandwich.com or patreon.com slash Mr. Sunday movies. We've got a Q&A this week. People are interested. Oh, here's another American-centric email, if you can even believe it.
Starting point is 01:27:34 This is from Austin. Americans? Hey, James and Mason. The latest pot inspired me to once again email with a question that's been killing me for years. How do you two Aussies know so much about American politics and American history? Because it's everywhere.
Starting point is 01:27:46 Yeah, on the most recent potty mentioned American presidents such as Taft, William Taft and James Garfield, maybe this is naive for me to be asking, but I genuinely could not tell you the name of a single Australian politician, including the PM. So I'm in interest as to why how you both are so well-in-forth. It's Anthony Albanese. It is currently Anthony Albanese.
Starting point is 01:28:03 But ask me who our Premier is in Victoria. I can't remember. No. A lady. Is it John So? Yeah, it's John So. Is it Mayor John Soe from 15, 20 years ago? Yeah, it must be him, I think.
Starting point is 01:28:13 Yeah, I don't know. The Premier is. He's our Zoran Mumdani. Yeah, he's not. They're not interesting. No. And also, I think... We get watered down shit versions of the worst parts of your politics.
Starting point is 01:28:24 Yeah, and also what happens is because in Australia, the prime minister, you can, you vote for the prime minister and then they can just be ousted by their own party, like a week in. Yeah. And then you've suddenly got another prime minister. Whereas I think in America, because, like, the... The president gets, yeah, a president gets elected and then there's like four years of buildup to the next election. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:46 And so we just have to learn a bit, like, it just, just, you're going to learn all about Mitt Romney. Yeah, we've got to know. We're going to learn about John McCain. Duques. Yes. We've got to learn. And then we hear about the ladies on the view.
Starting point is 01:28:59 Yeah. I'll also, like, I think it's also a lot of Simpson's references. Absolutely. Oh, the older stuff definitely. Yeah, yeah. Well, you know, there's that Jimmy Carter history's greatest monster joke. Yeah. Stuff like that like that.
Starting point is 01:29:10 Whereas a kid, I'm like, I don't know who that is. There's that Dana Carvey sketch where he plays the news. anchor who wants to go on vacation. So he has to record all the news headlines before he leaves. And by the time the sketch starts, he's on presidents. And he has to do the news about all the presidents. And there's a point where he has to say Gerald Ford gets eaten by wolves. And he's like, Gerald Ford wouldn't get eaten by wolves.
Starting point is 01:29:32 And his producers like Taft was. He's like, really? Taff was eaten by wolves. All right. So it's just a lot of that. I also think most of them, there's a lot more funny stories related to American politicians as well. Like scandals, obviously,
Starting point is 01:29:48 but also just like funny stories about chopping down trees or the only one we have is Harold Holt. Yeah. Who went swimming. And he died. And disappeared and then nobody cared. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:59 And there's a swimming pool named after him. Yep. Yeah. And you might be like, was that before he drowned? No. No, it was after. Yeah. They did it as a goof.
Starting point is 01:30:10 Yeah, pretty good. Yeah, we are fun. I think also like in Australia, and I don't think this is true. of like every American. We don't like any of our politicians. No. And you don't have to.
Starting point is 01:30:20 Yeah. Like I despise every single one of them to varying degrees. 100%. And you just... I despise them all to the same degree, which is a murderous degree, as you know. But we won't get into that. But yeah, there is way more of a cult of personality. It's in Australia again, it is way more of like...
Starting point is 01:30:39 They try to bring it in here, but it's like... No. I think the people who are like... Anthony Alper Aisie. He's ruined. whatever, yeah, he's doing the same level of corruption and ineptitude as every other politician ever has or will or anyone who replaces him in any other party. Yep.
Starting point is 01:30:54 It's the same. And if he, and again, if he gets ousted by his deputy prime minister, and I don't know who that is, because it's not important. It'll just be another guy. Yeah, totally. So, yeah, any, yeah. But at least he, you know, he got a real leg up from government funding as a child. Correct.
Starting point is 01:31:12 Rob with a single mama or whatever. Public housing, yes. And now he's doing that for all of us. He's doing that for all of us. Yeah, he's really helpful, I think. Yeah, fuck everything and everyone. But also it's like seeing what happens in America and also in the UK, it's like, oh, this will be here in six years. 100% yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:29 But like a dumber version of that. Yeah. People don't always fall for. Yeah. Because they're so inept. We have one nation, which is like your Republican Party, a current version. Oh, yeah, I guess so, yeah. but like way dumber.
Starting point is 01:31:45 It's like the very Trumpian end of the Republican Party. And you might be like, what do you mean way dumber? It is. You're just going to have to trust us. You're just going to have to trust us. Yeah. Don't look into it. You don't need to know any of it.
Starting point is 01:32:00 We don't need to know any of it. Yeah. They should all be in jail. They should all be in jail, yes. Or the thing that I say when we're off. Yeah, whatever. Whatever, either of those things. Whatever is fine, yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:11 Yeah. Is that the whole show? Yep. All right then. We're ending on a good note, I think. Next week, Resident Evil, right? And maybe Cody versus Acme. I think we should at least watch it to support the movie.

Starting point is 01:32:53 school right now, this podcast has never gotten old. Unlike this bloody person is bloody, you know. Yeah. The fact that I was drawn in with the trailer breakdowns as a pre-pubescent child and stuck around for how relatable, the sorry to get political segments to get more and more common, uh, sorry, they get more and more common become. It is a test. to how much these guys are just the Australian Slatern-Woldoff. Stathlund Warna. And with the Australian Slaver and Gordered, we will take on your legal case. Any kind of negligence?
