Welcome back everybody to another episode of Caravanagh Garbage where we're taking a look at
2D animated live action crossover movies with decreasing quality.
And we're in the middle.
We're right in the middle of this.
It feels like this pushed us way over the middle.
I thought this would be like a gentle step down.
Wrong.
We've crossed the Rubicon.
It's too late.
We can't get back.
Come back.
Who framed Roger Rabbit, please.
I need something to cling on.
Klingon?
No.
Darlick?
Yeah.
Okay.
Bad though.
Yeah, bad though.
So this came out in 2003.
I didn't see it at the time.
Me either.
I'd seen The Mummy, of course, with the delightful Brendan Fraser.
Terrific movie.
Yep.
But for some reason, when the trailers came out for this, I went, I don't know, man.
And then over the years, over the decades, you were telling me the other day that...
People requested.
People request this and people like, I've such fond memories of this movie.
It's actually pretty good.
The Wikipedia says that at the time it received mixed reviews.
views. 23 years later, I'm like,
nah, this is bad.
This sucks. This is a really bad movie.
It shocked me.
Like how I was really like, oh, this would be a fun kind of, I don't know, I don't know.
I was like, this will be a fun nod and a wink.
Yeah.
You know, to a love letter to traditional cell animation mixed with live action, you know.
Again, a little tip of the cap to who framed Roger Rabbit and so on and so forth.
It's so bad, though.
Maybe also having done who framed Roger Rabbit and then jumping to this.
Yeah, okay.
That certainly doesn't help.
But, you know, people talk about how this is so much better than the original Space Jam.
I mean, maybe, but not by much, if it is.
One of the things I set out to do was make it more true to the characters in Space Jam.
And that's probably true, but it's just not funny.
No.
And I think, you know, something, something Jurassic Park, they spent so long trying to figure out whether they could.
they didn't stop to think whether they should.
Yeah.
I think some of this looks really good.
You know, I think the technology has improved since...
You love that robot dog.
No, I hated it.
Oh, that's bad, actually.
Yeah, the wheels really fell off towards the end.
But, like, some of it, there's a scene where the main characters are being chased in Las Vegas,
and you've got cartoon characters in a real car with all the Las Vegas lights sort of bouncing off the windshield.
And I'm like, that looks really cool.
Well done.
There's a scene where Brendan Fraser is fistfighting like a big sort of...
cartoon thug on a balcony.
Yeah.
And that looks really cool.
He really sells it as well.
Yeah.
Like a lot of the stuff he did in the mummy was him fighting nobody.
Yeah.
So he's, you know, he's experienced in this.
And some of this is really good.
Some of it looks like it's really happening and some of it looks like it is not happening.
Yeah.
Sometimes the cartoon characters have shadows.
Sometimes they don't.
It's just a thing people forgot about apparently in this.
Yeah.
Okay.
So this is how it started, right?
There was supposed to be a follow-up to Space Jam.
Spy Jam, right?
Well, yeah.
So even...
And then Tony Hawk Jam, maybe.
That was after this.
Tony Hawk Jim.
That got cancelled because this did so badly.
Of course.
So there was going to be a straight-up space jam too.
And they started developing it without getting Michael Jordan on board and then realized he didn't want to do it.
So they pivoted to Spy Jam with Jackie Chan.
That didn't come through.
So they pivoted to race jam with Jeff Gordon.
See in this?
Is that the race car driver we see in this?
Oh, maybe he is.
I don't know, man.
Because Michael Jordan's in this for one second.
Well, yeah, it's archival footage, but yes.
Okay.
But the thing about this is that I think what they do,
did is they, based on this, is they probably storyboarded a bunch of things, like a real person
having a fist fight with fake person, you know, car chase, real car versus cartoon guys or whatever.
And they just, by the end of the development, and by the time they got to this, they just went,
yeah, we have like six good ideas for, you know, sequences.
Let's just put everything in, whatever, it's fine.
Nothing needs to connect.
Nothing needs to connect.
It's such a, it's such a weird stop-start movie.
It's so unfocused.
Yeah.
And I know it's a children's movie.
Well, yeah, but also Joe Dante, who also directed Gremlins.
Sorry, I should stop me there.
It's a movie for no one.
Like a lot of these movies that is a movie for no one, yeah.
Yes.
So Joe Dante, yeah, he directed Gremlins, Gremlins too, the Burbs, small soldiers.
Big movie.
Big movie.
A lot of cool stuff.
He said about this.
It's a gag fest.
It's a gag fest because I'm going to vomit.
Got you.
Got you Joe Dante 23 years ago.
Not having a particularly strong.
story. It goes from gag to gag and location to location. It's not a particularly compelling
narrative, but of course, that's not where the charm of the movie is supposed to lie. And I think
that would be fine. If the gags were good. If the gags were good. Yeah, but they're not. So
Joe Dante also nicknamed this project, the anti-space jam movie. Because he hated the
space jam, how it ruined the Lunarunes characters. And this was meant to be a tribute to
animator Chuck Jones, who also didn't like Space Jam because it altered the characters
too much. But as we'll talk about
closer to the end, he does not
like this movie or talk about it
fondly and it went really badly behind
the scenes for all sorts of reasons. Studio
interference? Yes, exactly. That's what
you'd have locked and loaded in the chamber, as it
were, if you're making a big turd of a movie.
Which is also weird because this movie
is about studio interference.
Like, Water Brothers specifically.
Also, I mean, again,
speaking of unfocused, because this is a
movie about making movies
and I would say there's a point
at the 40 minute mark where I went,
I think the characters sometimes know they're in a movie,
but sometimes they don't,
because there's a moment where they're walking through the desert,
it's not important why, because they're just there,
and Walmart appears,
and Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman have a conversation about like,
did you add this in for product placement?
And she's like, yes, I did.
People will barely notice it.
And I'm like, so you know you're in a movie now,
but you didn't before?
When you got fired or going to get fired?
Because if you did then,
you'd be like, well, it doesn't matter they got fired because I'm in a movie.
This job is fake.
It's the Wayneswell joke, but worse.
Yeah, much worse.
And there's a lot of that in this.
So, yeah, so Daffy Duck gets fired because he's not as popular as Bugs Bunny.
Well, he, I mean, also because he's in a garbage movie.
Also, Jenna Elfman in this movie, she plays the head of comedy at Warner Bros.
And things aren't going well for her, probably because she's making a movie called Back in Action that is using
the Duck Season Rabbit Season joke,
which we established in the previous video
was Old Hat in 1947
when Who Framed Roger Rabbit is set.
And she's just like, yeah, let's make a new one with...
With the same animation style and all of that, yeah.
But Daffy Duck is tired of playing second fiddle to Bugs Bunny
and so he kicks up a stink.
Yep.
And then he drives the Batmobile into the Warner Brothers Water Tower,
presumably killing the animaniacs.
And so he gets fired from Warner Brothers,
and he's not allowed to be in cartoons anymore.
And he gets fired with him a security guard named DJ played by Brendan Fraser.
Yep.
Who is also...
The stuntman for Brendan Fraser.
Yeah, but for some reason he can't get another job being a stunt man,
even though he's also the son of...
Timothy Dalton.
Timothy Dalton, who's the...
The number one action spy, but he's also a real spy.
But he's also a real spy, exactly.
And it's so...
So much of it is so uninspired.
Like, you see a big post-
for Timothy Dalton's characters like his big spy movie.
It's called License to Spy.
Wow.
Not even one more second you're going to think about that?
Brilliant.
Yeah.
Also, there's things that they,
I just feel like they don't think about,
like in regards to Batman,
which is directed by Roger Corman.
I guess that's fun if you recognize Roger Corbyn by face.
So many weird, odd references.
There's a reference later because they end up in France.
It doesn't matter why.
But there's a poster for Jerry Lewis's The Day the Clown cried.
The famously unreleased horror outwit holocaust movie that has never been released and is in a vault somewhere.
Apparently it's atrocious.
Yeah, I don't know.
Who's that for?
Yeah, I don't know.
I guess us.
I guess.
We saw it.
We laughed.
We laughed.
And we cried.
Because we'd seen most of the movie.
Yeah, so it's Val Kilmer's Batman Sonar suit.
But it's the Keaton Batmobile.
It's whatever they had on there.
Get real, is all I'm saying.
Right.
But great cameos.
I guess Matthew Lillit is in this.
The Daleks are in it.
It's the Will Robinson robot.
There's Walmart.
There's a great cameo from Walmart.
There's the mission.
One of Walmart's best roles, I think.
There's the Mission Impossible man.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
But it's so just nothing and scattershot.
Oh yeah, also.
So, Brendan Fraser, he gets fired and he goes back to where he's living,
which is his father's house.
Mansion.
Mansion.
Because he's the biggest movie star in the world.
And then he discovers that his father is not only plays a spy,
but he's also a real spy and he's been kidnapped.
So he has to go on an adventure with Daffy Duck to Las Vegas to rescue his dad.
Yep.
But his dad went missing because he was looking for a monkey crystal.
A crystal that is magic, a magic supernatural crystal
that can turn people into monkeys and back
and the Acme Corporation wants the crystal
so they can turn people into monkeys and have them make Acme merchandise
and then turn them back into humans so they buy the Acme merchandise.
Steve Martin's also in this.
And this is not...
Everybody in this movie thinks they're in a different movie.
Brendan Fraser is playing it completely straight.
Yep.
Which is right, by the way.
Yeah.
Well, because...
We'll get to that.
Steve Martin, who, by all accounts, very nice man, very talented, great guy,
everybody loves him.
He's in Austin Powers, I guess.
He is in Austin Powers.
I've written here,
Steve Martin is great in everything,
but not in this.
It's not funny.
He's also just in that one room for most of it.
He's the head of...
Acme and he's decided to go with, or maybe the production designist decided to go with like a bob wig and weird
glasses and like a too tight suit and kind of a scoliosis kind of work going on. The thing about this
movie, I think, is what I feel I was expecting with this movie was the idea of people playing it
very sincerely like Brendan Fraser is versus the insane stuff that he comes across in the tune
culture. World. World and culture. But the problem is that half the human character,
in this movie are playing it as their cartoons as well.
Yeah.
Some people are completely unfazed by the cartoon stuff.
Just make him a cartoon then, you know what I mean?
Like, because I was watching behind the scenes and they're like, yeah,
he's just doing it like a live action animated man.
When did the Incredibles come out?
You're after this.
Okay, because he's Edna Mode, isn't he?
No, that's, um...
No, but he looks like Edna Mode.
Oh, he looks like Edna Mode, yes.
Yeah, no, I got like Pee Wee Herman and Dr. Reval.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Anyway, yeah, you mentioned they go to Vegas and Heather Lockley is there.
They're just like, well, we have to.
to go. We have to go. Circumstances get them there. They, or then they get in Timothy Dalton's
big spy car that, and it's got a bunch of weird gags like it'll put you in a tuxedo or whatever if you
push the wrong button. A sexy dress. And it can fly and it can make you a martini. And then it will
take you to mother who is, um, who's that? Joan Cusack. Joan Cusack. Yeah. Before we talk about that,
there's one thing that I, a good choice in this is that they make the cartoon villains that are villainous
traditionally
villains in this.
So like Wiley,
Coyote,
Marvin the Martian,
the mustache cowboy guy.
Yeah,
you know what?
Mr.
Mustach Cowboy.
All of that.
He's a mustache cowboy.
So I'm like,
yeah,
okay,
so they're the same in real life.
Yeah,
okay.
But also,
I guess they all star
in movies
and TV shows together.
While committing crimes?
Yeah.
Could you do that?
Could you record
a series of videos
with me
if you knew I was
chucking dynamite
at people on the streets?
I guess if I was
really cool, which I am. And if you were good
of it. Yeah. Which you're not.
No, I'm not bad at it. You've got a bad arm.
But so, yeah, they visit
Joan Kuzaki in Area 52.
Great joke. Great joke.
They're just, again, why are they there?
I don't know. It's just a...
Yeah, I've just written here, all right, fine, I guess.
We're just going with this. So yeah,
they're looking for a monkey diamond that turns people into
monkeys to make acne stuff and then turn it back
to people and they sell it to... This is just to remind
myself. And then there's
like a little alien attack and it's
just like, God, there's aliens now in this, but it's aliens.
Well, yeah, it's the space jam universe.
Yeah, different pop culture just thrown together and okay, right, cool, great.
And then they go to France.
Yeah.
And they're running around the Louvre and it's inaccurate because the scream isn't in the
Louvre, Mason.
Wow.
Maybe it was on loan during that time.
It wasn't.
I checked actually.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Where was it?
It's normally in Norway.
Okay.
In the National Museum.
There's also different versions of it or whatever.
But this version was never here.
Okay, here's a joke that I liked.
Brendan Fraser's character gets rocket pants and they fly off him at one point.
Good fun.
And he's got no pants.
No pants for a minute.
But also, why is he dressed like that?
Like unflattering bland t-shirts and like ill-fitting jackets.
Like he's cool and big and fun.
Well, that was 2003.
I guess it was, wasn't it?
Three-quarter-length leather coat like angel.
You know, it was that time.
And it's time to bring it back.
Yeah, I guess you're right.
Yeah.
Okay, so now it was a good time to just mention kind of what's going on here or some of it.
What do you mean?
Well, Warner Brothers apparently weren't happy with the way this was going or the script,
and they gave Joe Dante little to no creative freedom on the project.
He said it was a pretty grim experience all around.
And the longest year and a half of my life.
But they changed the opening, the middle and the end of the film on him.
That's the whole movie.
That's the whole movie.
So, yeah, anyway, here's what else.
happens. They unleash the Tasmanian devil and he kills Ron Pearlman.
Who is in this? He's in this. As a character, not as Ron Perlman. They don't go,
oh no, that was beloved actor Ron Perlman. He's in Hellboy around this time, maybe two years
later or something. Yeah, he's got a Dr. Evil council of like,
minions guys or whatever. Then they go to Africa and then they find the monkey crystal
that turns people into monkeys and then Steve Martin finally leaves that one room to show
up and oh and then there's a series of pointless reveals where Steve Martin reveals him to be
multiple of people including Michael Jordan but then it just goes back that he's Steve Martin
and it's like so is he a tune maybe that's it maybe he's a tune a la judge do because how else can
he do that or is that an Acme gadget or Gizmo you know I don't know but they get teleported back to
Acme because you know they use the Africa set for no also it's very clearly nobody went anywhere
in this movie
They obviously didn't go to France or Africa.
Maybe they filmed this at Warner Brothers Movie World, Hollywood on the Gold Coast.
It feels that way.
Because that's also a place where they just, their Batman is whatever bat suit they could acquire.
Yep.
And they've still got the Tim Burton Batmanville and whatever.
Yep, they do.
So yeah, they're back at Acme.
And then they have to, the satellite, they have to take the,
somebody's taking the diamond up to the satellite to shoot everybody on Earth.
Oh, Congo style.
Congo style.
That's right.
So Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny have to do.
with that, while Brendan Fraser
and Dharma from Dharma and Greg
fight a robot dog.
Yeah.
So this is also one of the few things in this movie
that's animated but not 2D animated
and apparently it was added to the film's finale
by the studio to give everything more action and drama.
So otherwise it would have just been General Elfman
and Brendan Fraser just running around nothing.
Going on, oh!
What is it?
The ghost of the other two Warner Brothers
who aren't in this.
There's four Warner Brothers in real life.
There was four Warner Brothers.
Not these two guys who are also in Gremlins too.
I mean, maybe they're the Terminator two twins
Maybe they're the sons of the original Warner Brothers
All four of them got together and had two identical sons
Or they're the two remaining Warner Brothers that aren't dead
Oh my God
They killed the previous two Warner Brothers
And consumed them
Yes
I didn't know this
Yeah, it's true
Yeah
Oh Bug's money does a lightsaber fight
Yeah great good
That's a reference
A chilling portent of things to come
Free guy
Oh yeah
I noticed that reference
Yeah
That's good
But you know I liked when Duck Dodgers was there
For a second, sure.
And then there's a series of exploding rocket jokes.
The thing about this movie is also, it's just, the idea, you know, you said of like,
oh, we want to bring these characters back to their original characterizations.
Sure, but so much of this is just them going, yeah, what's up, Doc?
Yeah.
Hey, I'm hunting wabbits.
It's just the same old beats over and over again.
Duck Dodgers, blah, blah, you know?
Yeah.
There's some funny bits.
There's a moment where Bugs Bunny is pushing all the buttons in Timothy Dolden's Secret
but Spycar and General Elfman tells him no
and he's like, I'm going to defy you.
I thought that was a funny joke.
That was not bad, all right?
Yeah, because it's new.
I thought that's, it was going to,
I thought it was going to get into a groove.
Yeah.
But it didn't.
It didn't get its groove.
No.
Can we talk about the voices?
Yeah, sure.
Because some of them are good and some of them are bad.
Well, there's some behind the scene stuff about this as well.
I'll tell you this.
I got the voice cast right here.
Joe Alasky, Bugs Bunny, great.
Enjoyed his work.
Thought that was really good.
He also did the voice of Daffy Duck.
Great.
He took over from Billy West
and Billy West was not happy about that
because Billy West, I think he did it on Space Jam.
Yeah.
But no, I agree, he's good.
This guy's good.
I don't know if he's continued to go on to voice these characters.
Elma Fudd, that is Billy West.
Didn't like it.
Not good.
Tones weird.
Where is Marvin the Martian?
Eric Goldberg, sorry, your Marvin the Martian isn't very good.
Wow, got him.
Yeah, I got him.
Honestly, I didn't notice.
Okay, all right.
Any of this.
Or Berg and Porky Pig, like that one.
Not bad.
Okay.
What about mustache cowboy?
Yeah, it was all right.
It was good.
Who did?
Who did...
Yosemite Sam, Jeff Glenn Bennett.
There you go.
Brendan Fraser did Tasmanian Devil.
That's cool, right?
Yeah.
There was an alternative ending,
which was filmed at the Temple,
where Tweedy,
who was actually Tweedy Bird and not the Tasmanian Devil,
got zapped by the blue monkey
and turned into a pterodactyl like monster
and he ate Mr. Chairman,
whose last words were,
that that's all, folks.
Brilliant.
It's good.
Should have kept that in.
Why not?
Why wouldn't you?
Who cares?
Why not at this point?
Doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter.
Fun gag.
Put it in.
No, but he turned into a monkey.
And that's also a fun gag, because he's got little glasses.
Yeah.
But his glasses turned little?
Ridiculous.
Mm.
Is it glasses shrieking ray in addition to a monkey ray?
When the car puts a tuxedo on you, it puts bugs in a cartoon tuxedo, does it?
Mm.
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.
Doesn't make any sense.
Where's it getting that ink?
I don't know.
You shoot out ink?
I don't know.
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.
Also, what was the point of that?
They didn't use it for anything.
No.
But this is also why Who Framed Roger Rabbit works
is because they thought about every element of that universe.
Whereas this, it's just like, whatever, who fucking cares?
Right?
That should have been the subtitle.
Lutitudes, whatever, who fucking cares.
Yeah.
But do you know what I mean?
Like, if they don't care, then why should we care?
Yeah.
You know?
As limp biscuit said, if you don't care, then we don't care.
Yeah.
But like, if clearly Warner Brothers is just like, whatever, same old crap.
Another perfect subtitle for this movie.
Lunitude, same old crap.
Michigan J. Frog is there and guess what?
He sings, hello my baby.
Brilliant.
Didn't you do that in a really famous cartoon that's good?
He did.
From like 50 years before this?
But what about if he did it with no context in a restaurant?
That would be good too.
Also, he doesn't do it around people.
Isn't that the point of that character?
Yeah, but he's not in character in the restaurant, I guess he's not.
Because he's an actor.
I guess he's an actor.
The dog and the wolf or whatever that clock in and try to eat the sheep,
they're in the restaurant too.
And they just do the same thing they did in that movie,
that cartoon from 60 years ago.
Good.
That's a perfect place to do that, a restaurant.
Great, good.
Joe Dante has only discussed this movie publicly once.
Yeah.
And he said, the less said about the movie, the better.
But he did say, at least it's better than Space Jam.
Yeah, right.
I don't know if it is.
And again, I don't even love Space Jam at all.
Yeah.
I think we've established.
Yeah.
He said, I was making a movie for them, as in Warner Brothers, for those characters.
And they did not want to know about those characters.
They didn't want to know why Bugs Bunny shouldn't do hip-hop.
It was a pretty grim experience all around.
Exactly.
That's exactly.
Yeah.
He shouldn't be doing hip-hop.
He should be doing Gregorian chants.
I don't know.
Whatever.
It's fine.
It's just something new.
Yeah.
And also, according to Joe Dante, a problem occurred when Warner Brothers executives grew tired of
the film's jokes and wanted them to be changed.
Okay.
So the studio bought in 25 gag riders to try writing jokes that were short enough for the voice actors
to dub into their animated characters' mouths.
Always a great sign.
Great.
Yeah, terrific.
Really good.
Trying to fix something like this that's already been filmed in the edit.
Yeah.
Bad.
Good Lord.
Yeah.
Anyway, it's time for trivia.
There we go.
In action.
Love it.
You're about to see some trivia in action, Mason.
That's very exciting.
Did you see Back in Action the Jamie Fox, Cameron Diaz and Netflix movie?
I didn't see that, no.
Me neither.
Yeah.
If we had any thoughts, this is where we put it in.
Okay, no, I didn't see it.
Do you want to see it?
No.
Me neither.
There's a thought.
Great.
This is the last film that Jerry Goldsmith would score.
This is due to his failing health.
And due to the...
Right, I'll just do a fun riff on that, shall I?
You don't have to riff on everything.
No, no, I have to.
It's time to do a fun riff on a man was going to die, so this was his last movie to score.
Wait, I haven't given all the information.
Okay.
So due to his failing health, the last reel was scored by John Debney.
Does that help?
What was the first guy's name again?
Jerry Goldsmith.
Piano fell on him.
Did it?
That's funny.
That's funny.
I guess, yeah.
Yeah.
It's not what actually happened to him.
Well, what do you tell us all?
And then I'll riff on it.
Tim Allen and Robert Williams was considered for the role of Mr. Chairman.
Also, Jack Nicholson was, but then they didn't ask him because he'd be really expensive.
See, he would have just straight down the line like Jack Nicholson did, you know?
No nonsense.
No nonsense, which would have made it funny.
He's funny.
Remember when he broke through that door and he was like, hello?
That's funny.
Yeah.
Hello, fellow hotel guests.
It's me.
And the film's release was also the subject of a big stroke of bad luck.
Big stroke of bad luck.
It was supposed to come out in July, but was shelved after finding Nembo became a smash.
And then it was moved to November for the start of the holiday season.
But that was also up against Brother Bear and Elf.
And also just before the cat in the hat, we should do that fucking a truce.
Trocious movie.
And then Lord of the Rings, Return of the King came out.
So, Water Brothers, yeah, they refused to promote this film because of its chaotic production
and overrun budget.
So the bad stroke of luck was a bunch of other better movies.
Some of which they made or had a hand in.
Okay, we're all out around the same time and people decided not to see the bad one.
This has a finding Nemo joke in it.
Does it?
Yeah, Bugs Bunny's like, I found Nemo.
I guess that's one of the jokes that they put in.
They must have added in post.
Topical current.
Fresh, always fresh.
Yeah. So on a budget of $80 million, I don't believe that.
You think it's more?
Yes.
It made 68.5.
I can see why this bombed.
Yeah, it's bad.
It's really bad.
Like, it's because, oh, nothing about this really works.
The love letter stuff, it's not homage, it's just copying things.
Yeah.
Again, they may as well have just cut to the old clips from the cartoon, just put them in there.
Yep.
And just been like, that's part of the movie now.
You know, it made me go, maybe I don't like these characters.
And that's not true.
But it made me think maybe they've never been good.
When I first heard the news that Coyote v. Acme had been made but was not going to be released,
I'm like, well, all these people put their blood, sweat and tears into this and their passion,
and those characters are great.
And then I watch this and I'm like, oh yeah, I get it.
If the last movie you'd seen before you made the call to release or shelve Coyote versus Acme was this film,
you'd be like, yeah, no, that makes sense, actually.
Or even if you just peruse the Wikipedia page
And you'd go
Yeah, now this is probably for the best
Yeah
Yeah
Look and I know there are defenders of this
And people will come at us in the comments
But listen, no, look
That's a waste of your time
It's a waste of your time
And also you saw this as a child
Yeah, 100%
So I don't know what to tell you
And you're allowed to like it
Yeah
We don't
We're also allowed to not like it
Sorry
It's bad
Just this is not the hill to die on
I'm sorry
I thought it would
Do something else
I don't think
Get some ice cream.
I haven't been blindsided by a movie like this in a long time.
Like, I was really not ready for how bad this was.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh.
I was waiting for it to not be bad.
To settle in, right?
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
Like, oh, this is a little bit awkward to start off with, but then it finds its feet or whatever.
Never did.
Wait a minute.
This is bad all the way through my said at the end.
Anyways, speaking of bad all the way through, do you know what we're looking at it next week?
Space Jam 2, a new legacy.
I didn't like it then when it came out.
initially and I'm sure time has not been kind to it.
Also it's just, it just, it feels like it just came out.
It's too early to be, it's too early to be revisiting this.
It's five years old, maybe.
We've gone, vintage.
We've gone more recent than that.
Wow, yeah, I guess.
Anyways, if you want to see that early three places you can,
Patreon.com slash Mr. Sunday movies,
big sandwich.com or YouTube membership.
There's also bonus stuff on all those platforms.
bonus videos, etc., exclusive contents.
You're going to love it.
Yeah, you might.
Sometimes we reference old things, and that's what you guys like.
Apparently.
The guys who like this movie.
Tell you what, we'll do a bonus podcast where we just list old cartoon characters.
What do you think about that?
Sounds really good.
Pepe Lepewue.
What do you think about that one?
Not in this one.
I bet he is.
Is he?
Yeah.
Is this before they asked Max Landis to revamp the character?
Yes, it is.
He's in France.
He's stinking up the place.
Brendan Fraser is like you.
You stink.
Oh, yeah.
Of course he is.
Obviously.
Yeah.
Also, we have a podcast called The Weekly Planet.
You can check it out if you want.
We like it.
We reference old stuff, don't we?
Oh, hell yeah.
We mostly reference older, funnier jokes from our previous podcast.
Correct.
Thank you so much to Lawrence for the edit.
Thanks, Lawrence.
And condolences.
Congratulations on taking a bullet for this one.
Bless you.
Longest bloody year and a half of my life watching this movie.
Say that much.
Bye, everyone.
Grabbed our jammy guys.
We'll see next week.
