The clock is ticking on the 27 people left on planet earth to release an anti-virus which would stop all the Resident Evil in its tracks. And there's secrets to be revealed! I've done some math, Mason. Go on. Between this episode and the last. Okay, first of all, in Australia, we call it maths. It's both, actually. I don't like how you've, I don't like how you've Americanized yourself here. Well, if I say maths. Sell out.

But this way, but look, if I said maths, then I get thousands of people commenting, but if I say math, it'll be just you. And that I can handle, because I can just be, say, shut up, man. Shut up and enjoy math. Okay, go, go ahead. Anyway, I did some math. You're going to say shut up? Yeah, I'll shut up, man.

Thanks, man. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Anyways, I did some maths. Yes. And the Resident Evil movie... Oh, I think you'll find it's math. It's math.

The Resident Evil movies, in total, come to 587 minutes. Six movies in this series that we're doing, the Paul W.S. Anderson, Miller Joavage. But the Transformers movies, which is only five movies, the Michael Bay series, and that's 76 minutes. Wow. We're like a movie under by doing this. This is a breeze, Mason.

We could do that Resident Evil, Welcome to Racken City or whatever. One of the animated ones, the one that's accurate, but people are like, this is accurate, but it's bad. Whichever one that is, we can do that one, we can throw that in next week. Some of the Resident Evil games are accurate and bad. It's, you know, who knows? But how about this, James? Let's not do that. Let's stop doing Resident Evil movies, because I'm at my limit.

This one was a real chore. Well, it's the longest. Yeah. As opposed to a standard 90 minutes, this was an hour 46. Too long. You're getting 15 minutes more. It felt like an hour more. Mason, when you're shifting this.

the entire narrative and retconning pretty much everything that's come before. You need that extra 15 to 16 minutes, all right? Please leave a like on this video. I read that after this one, Paul W.S. Anderson and various other producers were like, yeah, we could do another one. And I bet you, I bet you if they had done another one. Because in this one, it's revealed that the Earth's population has been reduced to like

4,000 people. Everybody else is dead or turned into a zombie. I bet you if they did another one. They would have been like, are actually the Umbrella Corporation, they actually put 5 billion people in stasis underground, and they're back and they've rebuilt society and it's normal again. And they just start from the start. Absolutely.

Oh my God, I would love that. Me too. God. So the story this time around, we get a bit of a... Alice tells you what's going on or whatever, etc. Yeah. But for a long time. For a long time.

Really luxuriated in it this time. So long. Well, they got those 16 minutes. Yeah, I guess they got those 16 minutes. So it turns out that the guy who... who originally created the resident evil disease, and not Dr. Ashford, which was explained in movie two.

This is a new guy. This is a new, this is a new older guy, and he was actually, he actually created the T-virus because he was the nicest guy in the world. And he didn't actually want to make it for profit. No.

He wanted to make it to be a hero. And he was, in a way, because he cured his daughter's progeria disease, which is the one where you age like Robin Williams in the movie, where you get aged right up. So you're right, the T-virus was good It slowed that for a little bit And it could cure thousands of other diseases and problems

Could cure everything According to him, yeah It's like people like, AI's good actually And we'll take your job and that's good It can't take my job and it's not good actually That's what I think Well maybe this job But you know, a real job

Anyway It can't take my job Because I'm the set designer for Resident Evil movies And I say grey Grey And concrete Let's see AI do that I know

Luckily also though He scanned his dog. Spikes. Spikes and lasers. And barbed wire. Yep. But not barb wire. No. Barb du wire. And just like detritus. Yeah.

Various bricks and stones that have been scattered about. And glass. And glass. Sometimes it's white and glass. Anyway, it's not important. It's a little bit important. I'm dragging this out like it's Resident Evil the final chapter of the movie. Anyway, also he's Scandie's daughter into hologram. She's the red AI machine.

If you remember that. And that's Milojovich's actual daughter, right? That's correct, Mason. Immediately, I'm like, that's Miller Jovich. You clock that, that's good work. Nepo, it's Nepo time. Agreed, it is nepo time. Ding, ding, it's nepo time.

Get in the ring. We're fighting children, Mason. Nepo children, so it's fine. It's fine with me. You're allowed to do it. Anyways, also, it wasn't an arms race, as we previously were told. We were retconned it was an arms race where everybody set it off at once, but no, it was just a virus just got out.

At one point, Milojovich, as Alice does have an arms race in the sense that she cuts off Ian Glenn's arm's arm's arm. and she uses it to start up a motorbike and then she does a little race. She does a little race, yeah. Is that what you were talking about? Yeah, that's what I was talking about. But isn't it weird that they went, no, actually, it wasn't the original guy that we saw who had a sick daughter who created the T-virus.

It was a different guy who had a sick daughter who created the T-virus, presumably because they couldn't get... What's his name again? Oh, yeah, that guy. Moriarty, what the hell is his name? Oh, no, I don't know. Shinobles. Jared Harris.

Jared Harris Maths. Is his name? We've put his full name out there so nobody complains. Good. It's Jared Harris Maths. Now also, if you remember from the last movie, it was revealed that Albert Wesker was actually the good guy. That's right.

And the Red Queen was the bad guy. But this time they flipped it. And by flipped it, I mean they've just gone back to what it originally was for the other movies. They've made some changes in between the last movie in this movie because they're like, no, logistically, this probably isn't going to work. So like in the last movie, Albert Wesker's like, I'm the good guy actually. and actually I'm going to give you the T-Virus back, Alice,

so you'll have your superpowers back. And then at the presumably in pre-production of this one, they went, well, if she has a superpowers back, it's going to make this movie really easy for her. So let's say that Albert Wesker pretended to give her the T-virus back. And now he's the bad guy again. He's a bad guy again. And also there's an antivirus, which will stop all the Resident Evil,

which is also a plot point from previous Resident Evil movies. But this one's Airborne. So you've got to give it some credit where they've put it in an aerosol, Mason, you've got to give him some credit. I will give them some credit. for making it an aerosol this time. Jared Harris made one version, this guy made a different version.

It's okay. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Ian Glenn's back. Oh, yeah. Did he, did he know post-apocalyptic super karate in the previous movie? I don't think he did,

but now he does and all these clones also do. Oh, that's true, yeah. But they just gave him Wesker's abilities, they did, yeah. And they really just nerfed Wesker. Because also now Wesker works for Ian Glenn, but previously Ian Glenn worked for Wesker, but also the previous Ian Glenn was a clue.

clone. So it makes sense that the real Ian Glenn actually has Wesker as the underling, but it turns out the real Ian Glenn is not the real Ian Glenn because there's multiple levels of real Ian Glenn. Yeah. I reckon if I were Ian Glenn, I'd be like, the character Ian Glenn, not the actor Ian Glenn. I don't know what the actor Ian Glenn's up to. But the character Ian Glenn, I would be, I'd clone myself and then I'd be like, listen,

don't take any guff from Wesker. Never be one of Wesker's underlings. Yeah, exactly. He's just going to, I don't know, be smuggard to you all day. He's going to be smarmy wearing sunglasses. is indoors at night. Oh, yuck. God.

Have some self-respect, Ian Glenn's clones. Anyway, they've got 48 hours to release the good virus or all 4,000 humans left will be dead. Well, Alice can't do that our own. She's got to get a crew. That's right.

And it's the most generic crew you've ever seen. There's some people that you recognize from previous movies. It's just one. This, yeah, Ali Lard is here.

A bunch of generic guys are here. Ruby Rose is here. One of the little rascals that's on the team for some reason. What? There's a little kid and he's got a golf club and a little hat?

Oh, I thought you meant from like that movie. movie in the 90s. Yes. I do. It's a little boy. Do you not remember him? He's a little boy.

He's carrying a golf club and he's got a little flat cap or something. Does he die? Maybe. He's not there at the end, but he's there for some of it. There's a moment where one of them goes into a fan. And I was literally like, it's Ruby Rose. Yeah, and I was like, which one was that?

And I had to rewind it. And I, like, I know Ruby Rose, but I still didn't, I didn't clock what was happening. We've got to get back to the crew. Okay, sorry. No, but we're going to get back. But I have, before we get back to the crew, I have a note, and it's relevant to that. This movie franchise was incredibly lucky that it came and went before humanity invented scrolling on our phones every second we're awake. Because before, like back in the before times, you would have known which member of the crew went into the fan.

Because we live in the now, you just went, who was that? I don't know. Whatever. Anyway, there's this crew there, the guy, the little kid from the little rascals there. There's also a guy who's decided to put on an obviously fake, gravelly British voice. because everybody he knew before the apocalypse is dead now and he's just like, I'm going to reinvent myself as Idris Elba. It's not working.

It's not working. I don't know if that guy actually is British, but it's not working. So if he's like that in real life, that's not working. Try another accent in real life, this guy. But yeah, this is the era where they were like, let's put Ruby Rose and everything. It was that era, it's like it was her Sam Worthington era.

Because they're like, she's got hot stuff. She's hot stuff. We don't know what to put her in. yet. She's orange is the new black. Absolutely. She's triple X3. That's right. She's bat girl or woman. She was bat girl or woman. Yeah. Oh, speaking of bats, the bat from

Resident Evil 5 is here. Hell yeah, get in a moment. Who's making these? Well, look, in the games, I know it's a mutation, but who's making these? I guess it's a mutation. And also, what happened to the little girl that Alice was the mum of in the previous movie? Oh, yeah. Don't worry about it, Mason. I've got a whole segment of the where I go through every character that hasn't reappeater.

and I explained what happened to them in the novelisation of this movie. Did she die in the novelisation? I wouldn't mind to spoil it, but you'll have to read the book. Anyway, Ian Glenn also, he's taking a road trip across America, isn't he? Well, yeah, so the insane Ian Glenn clone, who Alice chopped the hand off of, he's like, he gets in his big super tank, he's got a super tank. And it's got a bike in it because I guess Paul W.S. Anderson saw The Dark Night. Yeah.

That's fun though. That sequence where they fight and she cuts the hand off and rides and rides away. That's good. So here's the thing also. That's good, James. Thanks, Mason. I'm genuinely not sure if I've ever seen this one or not. And about the 40 minute mark, I'm like, have I seen this?

And then I got all the way to the end and I'm like, I still don't know. Because the bit where she cuts off Ian Glenn's hand to start the motorbike, I'm like, that feels, I recognize that, I think. But have I just seen the clip of that, I don't know. Well, I'll tell you this. I could not tell you for a million dollars, if I'd seen this before, on streaming or on TV or at the movies. I don't know. Well, Mason, I'll tell you this. Yes, and it was so hard to care.

By this last one, I'm like, I don't care what happens in the franchise now. Episode 170 of our podcast, The Weekly Planet. We covered Resident Evil, the final chapter. Did we? There you go, 2017. Wow. Make it that what you will. My whole life's a lie.

I'm these my real memories. Let's talk about it, Mason. It's revealed that Alice hasn't been able to. remember any of her memories from before she woke up. She can't even remember some of her memories somewhat. She can't even. So she has to get back to Raccoon City to visit Jill and just to make sure everything's Mad Max again.

It's Mad Max again, by the way, for a lot of this. And then all the... Ian Glenn brings just a stampede of zombies to storm the base, which I think that whole sequence benefits from being in the dark. Absolutely. Because I guess otherwise I would have seen that little boy that apparently is in this. And I think that's incredible. And it also...

Boy, I really hope that little boy is in this, because otherwise I had... Some kind of little rascals-based hallucination while I was watching this. You wouldn't have forgotten this, though, because there's a Minigad in that moment. Do you remember? Yes. It's time for Mesa's Minigand minute. Struggling to care, zero out of it. Looked like a real one, I guess.

But like a real one in the sense that it was a CGI one or whatever. You know, it's just... Who cares? It's not killing any guys, really. You know, I had a moment of realization in this. Remember the previous one where I was like, I'm sick of wireframe trends. But there's a moment in this where it wireframes into a map and then into a glass filled with ice. And I'm like, that's innovation.

I've never seen that in the cinema before. And this is what I'm paying good money to see. No, this one's on Netflix for some reason. The last couple are on Netflix. I don't understand. In Australia at least. Also, Browler & Mason, they have a real plan. This is their real plan.

Actually, there was going to be an apocalypse, right? And they're like, well, if there's going to be an apocalypse, let's just get ahead of it, Noah style. This is our been our plan the whole time. Actually. Yeah. And so they're like, let's do our own apocalypse. Also, why did you do with zombie virus? You could have just done and everybody get like dies virus.

Why does it have to be a zombie virus? Makes it unnecessarily complicated. It means a lot of your underlings and sometimes yourself and sometimes your clones all get killed by zombies. That's right. And there's a mysterious older woman at the end of the table who's like, I'm kind of on board with this. But maybe I'm not that on board with this.

Am I an important character? We'll find out later. I certainly have a lot of memories, don't I? So they have to go back to the original resin. Evil Chamber, the Underground Chamber from the first movie, which I was really excited about for a number of reasons. Just kidding, Mason. But I was really excited about it.

Why, you've really sat out on the Laser Corridor. Well, let's talk about the Laser Corridor, because when they first walked through it, I'm like, great, good to see. That'll come into play later. One of my old pals, the Laser Corridor. I love at the end of the Laser Corridor, there's that early 2000s computer terminal setup, which then opens up into this impossibly large cryo chamber, CGI room that was just always there? Hell yeah. I think that's so funny. God, really good. And we also know that

somebody, somebody on Claire Redfield's team is a traitor. And who is it, Mason? It's the guy who looks like a traitor. We haven't seen him before. It's not going to be Claire Redfield, is it? No, she wouldn't be the trade, unless she had one of those scarabs that change your mind memories. Exactly. It's not going to be the little boy who was in the little rascals. He's got, he's got, you know, he's got to play the back nine later. He's got a catty for a, he's got a catty for the Monopoly Man, I guess. And then it's revealed. Yes.

And I just love reveals and twists and knowing who's got what memories. Me too. The Alice we've been following for all 546 minutes or whatever this is. She's not even the real Alice. What? The little girl who had the grown-up disease where she got really old, that's Alice. And not only that, the red hologram girl is also Alice because she's a scan of Alice. So there's three Alice's, or as Ian Glenn calls them, a Trinity of Bitches.

Rude. Unnecessarily misogynobes. Ian Glenn. Agree. How about when you start your new society, which is going to consist exclusively of useless executives? One of them is also, you're the boss, and one of them is also you.

Yeah, maybe, maybe... And he's gone all religious. Maybe start a little bit nice, you know? Yeah. Also, how are they going to do anything? Because they don't have any guys to do actual work. Are they going to get those zombie butlers from a previous movie to do their work?

It's a good question. They're unreliable, and I think they're all dead. Yeah, they're unreliable and potentially dead, Mason. Speaking of unreliable, Albert Wesker just gets pushed aside so Ian Glenn can have the Matrix Showdown because he has predictive combat software initiatives into his mind and brain

He got the software from Hobbs and Shore Oh my God, he did get the Hobbs and Shore software He could do the Matrix now Except he got a better version of the Hobbs and Shore software Because the Hobbs and Shaw software that Idris Elba got Was only useful if you were fighting one guy at once He didn't factor in the power of friendship So when Hobbs and Shaw became the best friends

They learn to work together. They could defeat Idris Elba with the power of friendship and big punches and kicks and stuff. But Ian Glenn's software can easily fight two people at once. It's true. He can do it for a while and then it just doesn't do that. No, he can't do it at a certain point. But he does have a laser hallway showdown and I'm like, well, this is going to be it, isn't it? If there's ever going to be a movie that tops the original laser hallway... Yeah.

What's going to happen here is Ian Glenn is going to think he's got the upper hand, but then he hasn't factored in that Alice is constantly dealing with this laser hallway. This laser hallway is the closest thing she has to a best friend at this point. Obviously, she's going to know the laser hallway better, and it's going to be Ian Glenn's undoing. But it just isn't. Exactly. They just fight for a bit in the laid. They just jump around in the laser hallway.

The best thing about the laser hallway is, and also it's the return of the original laser hallway. I can't stress that enough, is that it's washing grime off the side as the lasers go down. And I'm like, wow, this is great. This is, for me, this is like watching those rug cleaning videos. Like, this is my rug cleaning, ASMR thing that people have. Was this the original? function of the laser hallway. It wasn't to kill people in kind of like a, like a deadly

trap kind of scenario. It was just to keep the hallway clean. You know what? I guess it does. See, the thing is because she does defeat Ian Glenn in the laser hallway. She loses a few fingers on the way. But not because of her extensive knowledge of the laser hallway. It's because she utilizes her new skill that is new to this movie, which is where you think she's doing something, but then a flashback, it's revealed she's actually doing something else. Oh my God. And what happens is that she uses that period where she's getting her fingers cut off by the laser hallway to just put a hand grenade in Ian Glenn's pocket. I think this is a British director thing because Guy Ritchie always does this.

He's like, you think something happened. But actually, we're on a helicopter the whole time. Feel stupid now? I do feel stupid that Japhim Stapham was on the helicopter the whole time. And he's leaping out of the helicopter and doing an enormous flying kick. Do you think it's better, though, that Ian Glenn is not defeated by Alice or the Laser Hallway, just more religious Ian Glenn shows up. It's like, I'm gonna kill him, I'm the real Ian Glenn.

Don't you think that's more satisfying? I guess, I guess, originally in Glenn's goal, apparently was to destroy society and then recreate it in his own image. But then actually the destruction of society was his destruction because his clone went mad and embraced the downfall of society and went super crazy and then just stabbed him, I guess.

Yeah. I guess his tactical brain software couldn't, factor in, what if a crazy version of yourself just runs at you? The software thinks it's a mirror. Thinks you're looking in a mirror. It's like when you ask AI to like replicate a picture a hundred times in a cut, it's that. It's that. But it's just, but it's, Ian Glenn, look at it himself.

You, your clone runs at you a knife and the software's like, hmm, nice knife you have there. It's good we have this knife. We can use this knife later. It's good that you're practicing running with a knife in front of this mirror. So the real virus is released and also, but the unfortunate thing about releasing the real viruses, we know that Alice's DNA. It's been affected by the T virus. It's all T virus.

So she's going to die too with the virus. But guess what, Mason? She just doesn't. She didn't even die. She was fine. It's fine, I guess. And she gets the ultimate gift. What's the ultimate gift in a Resident Evil movie if you can't remember your memories? You look at some memories and they're precious memories, and you look at the memories, and then you can remember those memories. Because you've just seen them. Because the best version of Alice is not the old Alice, who was actually a little girl.

Yuck, she can't do big flips and kicks. I didn't even see her get out of that chair, man. Right. We get this one who can... Well, maybe she can't do her flips and kicks anymore because she doesn't have the T-virus. Probably can't do a handstand too well now either. Yeah, but you can look at the life of...

Of another woman. A completely separate woman, honestly. Because all of this Alice's memories are just that time she spent the mansion with Eric Mabius. Like that afternoon, she's spending the... Hey, we're husband and wife in his mansion. I love you, Eric Mabius. That's me.

That's not Alice. You do love Eric Mabius. True. God. I'm glad you mentioned Eric Mabius, because we know what happened to Eric Mabius. He got turned into a nemesis? Yeah. Or a tyrant, one of them.

One of them. And then he got killed or whatever. Yeah, because he remembered who he was. He remembered his memories. And that left him vulnerable to a big kick, probably. That's right. But I can talk about all the characters that just disappeared throughout this series. Please do.

And this is via the Resident Evil, the final chapter novelization. That's so great. Who wrote that? Dean Foster? I don't know, man. They bring him out of retirement to write the final Resident Evil novel? I would hope so.

So in that, Alice asks Claire about Chris Redfield, what happened to him? And that was, don't tell me, that was the guy from prison break. Correct, that's right. What's his name? Wentworth Miller. Wentworth Miller, thank you.

Claire says that there was... It's Miller time. It is. Claire says that they were separated from Chris during the battle on Arcadia and she doesn't know what happened to him. Remember that ship when all the... Yeah, I remember.

but everybody kept getting shoved into those glass lockers. Yeah, man, that's what happened. Yeah, I remember that. Okay, so they lost track of him. Yes, that's right. Jill Valentine, she was stabbed in the eye by Wesker's tentacle. That was at the end of the previous movie, but after the credits, I guess. Right, okay.

So she's dead. She's dead. Siena Guillory said on Twitter that, though, she was never asked to rejoin this project. So, rude, by the way. She's a fan favorite also. Leon, do you remember Leon S. Kennedy who showed up for a little bit? Yeah, you know, I could rid as to him. He wasn't a very good Leon Kennedy.

Well, Mason, he was absorbed by the Melange. And so it was Ada Wong, which is a large discolored amoeba-like spongy tentacle thing that absorbs any... It's the blob. Was it in the movie? No, Mason. It was in the novelisation. You're inventing Melangey blobs for the novelisation? Let me be clear, Mason.

I'm not inventing anything. All right? You're angry at me. I'm not responsible for this. I don't know, man. Don't they say shoot the messenger? I think they do. Now, that actually might be a non-canon fate for Leon.

What actually might have happened was because Wesker betrayed everybody by bringing him to the White House, he was just killed there. Or he became president. He might have become President Leon S. Kennedy Mason. Kennedy. Kennedy. Kennedy. Kennedy. Kennedy.

Kennedy. Kennedy. President Kennedy. There's no word on Kmart, but she probably died on that boat attack from Resident Evil afterlife. She probably died by being crushed to death by an avalanche of crazy prices. Probably. And then you go there and you're like, oh, do you have that land? I saw,

I advertised and they're like, we don't have it. No, we don't like that. We sold it out in three minutes. Yeah. Becky,

who was Alice's fake real daughter. Okay. She was taken into hiding but then she was reunited with Alice. Not in the movie. So after this movie?

Yeah, as we've talked about, but like these movies are designed not to watch all in a row. Have we talked about that? No, but we have learned that.

If that's the lesson we've taken away from, from this, it's, yeah. Yeah. Don't. Don't think about the previous ones.

Don't, don't get your friends together and go, Remember those Resident Evil movies? Let's do a Resident Evil movie marathon at home. Get the popcorn already. It's time for a Resident Evil movie marathon. We're your friends and we did that for you already.

Yeah, it sucked. Were your friends. Yeah. Just watch the third one. Exactly. Or none of them. Or play the video games. Yeah, exactly.

Fight the giant bat yourself. Oh my God, Mason. There's so many giant bats at the end as well. Anyways, it's time for trivia, trivia, the final trivia. Whoa. I know you loved all those fates, though. I did, it's true. open doors and unanswered questions that I have closed and answered.

I feel fulfilled. Miller Jovovich, oh, you said this, that's her daughter. Eva Anderson, or Eva Anderson? I don't know. She's the Red Queen. The large humanoid creature in the hive that fights Alice and kills Razor, whoever that is. Fake British guy?

Maybe. That's Bloodshot, who was featured in the game Resident Evil 6, a game that nobody likes. But interesting that they put an RE6 reference in these movies. Yeah. Also, not my bloodshot. My bloodshot's always been and always will be. Vincent Diesel. Correct.

Vincenzo Diesel Fuel. Busani Al-Stad and Cube, a Zimbabwean man, traveled over 1,000 miles for a chance to appear in this movie as an extra. But he ran out of money along the way and he didn't end up being in the movie. But at least he went 1,000 miles for no reason. Absolutely. And he burned through all of his savings. That's terrific.

My God. And at least he got this taste of fame. That's right. Mason, you might have some watch information about the watch that Alice uses to count down when the last 4,000 people on Earth will be destroyed. That's digital. I don't care about digital. The makeup process for Miller Jovovich to transform into Alicia Marcus took four to five hours to complete.

Too long. Not worth it. No. And during filming in South Africa, an improperly secured Humvee slipped off a rotating platform, crushing crew member Ricardo Cornelius against a wall,

he was rushed to hospital and he was placed on life support and he died a few hours later. This was the film's second onset accident, but the only fatal one, and this film is dedicated to his memory. God, not worth it. Wow.

You know what I mean? Maybe they shouldn't have made this movie because maybe this guy wouldn't have been crushed by a Humvee. You say that now, but let's check out the box office. Mason, on a budget of $40 million down from the previous $65 million, makes sense.

This makes worth. This made $312. Big hit, bwbwam, bweb, bwee, bwee, it's all worth it. Everything's worth it. Every sacrifice is made for this movie is worth it. This whole franchise, these six movies, made over $1.2 billion. That's crazy. This is a huge success.

Okay, you know, I said before that this franchise benefited from, existing in a pre-scrolling on your phone time, these movies a million percent benefited from existing on a pre-everything streaming era. It's just they wouldn't have made a single, they wouldn't have made one thin dime these days. They would have came and went. They could have put one out a week for a month and a half

and they would have disappeared without trace. You know wrong, Mason? They'd be called slop. Well, not everybody says that because remember how, we talked about Roger Ebert refused to review any more of these movies after the second one. I did. It was his famous segment, Roger Ebert, refused to reviews. Well, if you go to his website, which you can, he's obviously passed away, but that's still going. And he's a quote. Who's paying those server fees?

Here's a quote for the review of this movie, which gave it three out of four stars. From Roger Ebert? No. One of his underlings. That's right. One of his Weskers or Ian Glens. Even after 15 years of mashing mutants, she still brings enough energy and panash to the franchise, not to mention a commanding physical presence. Resident Evil, the final chapter, may not be the ideal final note for the series, but as long as Jovovich is up there doing her thing, most people, like you, will still be too enthralled to notice.

Not like me. I noticed. Yeah. Whoever this is, they're not like me at all. I think this is one of the... This is a... What a miscarriage of justice that Roy... Roger Ebert didn't watch extinction, the only good one.

And then he got one of his little minions. He didn't. To jump. Somebody used his good name to come in and go, the sixth one is the best one actually. Disgusting. Give it a chance, man. No, you did.

You gave all six of these a chance. I've given this movie two chances, apparently. So it makes sense, of course, that we're getting the reboot in 2026. But also there was a reboot movie in 2021, if you remember. Was that welcome to Raccoon City? Something like that. It was that. And also there was a Netflix series in 2022.

That's Welcome to Racken City. One of them was Raccoon City. Apparently they're both really bad. But you know what? Impossible to make now, right? Like you said, just the idea that this went for so long and did so well. It's like talking about something that fell out of a different dimension. Right?

This is our Mandela effect. This is us going, man, remember when we were in that dimension where you could make these absolute three out of tens and they would make billions of dollars at the box office for over a decade? And then we landed in this universe where things are correct. Yeah. But also in many ways more wrong than ever. In a lot of ways they are more wrong, yeah.

Would you, it's not going to happen, would you see another one of these? Of course I would, James. Of course I would. Not tomorrow, obviously. I'm not going back to that dimension tomorrow. I got stuff on. But I'd take a few weeks, I think. And if we went to this dimension

where these movies were continuously being made and profitable, sure I'd watch Resident Evil 7. The world's fine again. But then umbrella. Then umbrella. Because it was all a simulation or whatever. I could. Perfect.

It was just a simulation. Miller Jovich wakes up and she's in one of her, weird onesies or a tissue paper sheet dress or whatever and she's got the weapon X VR helmet on she's like oh it's just a dream I'm in Tokyo I think or Eastern Europe yep where we film these sometimes and then we're off to the races yeah zombie horses zombie horses great idea never been done before I'd probably had it has never been done before very difficult Game of Thrones probably did it with the white hawkers didn't I bet they did Ian Glenn
