There is no shortage of scam artists and true crime.
But I'm guessing you've never heard of one quite like Caitlin Braun.
For over two years, Caitlin Braun conned more than 50 birth workers into thinking that she
was pregnant.
I'm Kathleen Goldtar, and this week on Crime Story, I sit down with Sarah Trelevin, the
host of the con, Caitlin's baby.

From CBC News, the world this hour, I'm Neil Herland.
There's a major new development tonight in Washington that could devastate the Canadian economy. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed tonight that he's considering hefty tariffs on Canada.
Trump made the comment to reporters while signing a series of new executive orders from
the White House.
We're thinking in terms of 25 percent on Mexico and Canada because they're allowing
vast numbers of people, Canada's a very bad abuser also,
vast numbers of people to come in and fentanyl to come in.
When do you think we would enact?
I think February 1st.
25 percent on both, sir?
On each.
Earlier Monday, many Canadians sighed with relief because Trump did not specifically mention
tariffs against Canada during his inauguration address.
Here at home, the Trudeau cabinet has been hunkered down all day in Montebello, Quebec,
trying to plot strategy in case U.S. President Donald Trump hit Canada with harsh tariffs.
Now those fears are one step closer to reality.
The CBC's Tom Perry has late reaction tonight from the Canadian government.
Well, we're thinking in terms of 25% on Mexico and Canada.
Tonight, as Donald Trump was signing executive orders in the Oval Office,
he told reporters he's still considering a 25% tariff.
Hi everybody.
Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Jolie and Finance Minister Dominique LeBlanc
say they're sticking with their plan to keep talking to the U.S. to try to
prevent Trump from going ahead with his tariffs and if he does go ahead to retaliate.
We heard and saw President Trump's latest comment.
We wanted to say to Canadians that again, we have a plan.
The plan is threefold.
The first one is we will continue to work on preventing tariffs and that's also why we have a very strong border plan. Second, we will work
on preparing for a response. That's why we're here and we'll be going back with
cabinet, of course, working on retaliation. And thirdly, we have to work on our
long-term response.

Donald Trump's comments tonight came as a shock, especially because he delivered them
while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office.
The CBC's Alex Panetta reports from Washington.
The nations of the world have received a swift reminder of life under Trump as a never-ending
roller coaster of real threats, unfulfilled
threats and negotiation.
You know, he was back in the Oval Office for the first time in four years, and he was having
these impromptu exchanges with reporters that went on at length while signing executive
orders, a slew of executive orders.
He was withdrawing from the Paris Accord.
He was withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization. But in the midst of this, he's being asked
about things like his Mexico policy. He declared an emergency at the southern border and declared
drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. And he was asked, would you use the American
military to attack drug cartels in Mexico? And he said, yeah, it could happen.
The CBC's Alex Panetta in Washington tonight. Earlier Monday Trump was sworn into office again.
I will to the best of my ability preserve protect and defend. Preserve protect and
defend. The Constitution of the United States. The Constitution of the United
States. So help me God. So help me God. Congratulations Mr. Trump. Trump took the oath of office just after noon Washington time in the rotunda of the U.S.
Capitol.
The ceremony was forced inside because of cold weather.
In his speech Trump said his presidency begins the golden age of America.
We will be the envy of every nation and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage
of any longer.
During every single day of the Trump administration, I will very simply put
America first.
And we're following some breaking news tonight near the Canada US border. An American border agent was shot dead on a highway in northern Vermont.
It happened about 32
kilometers from the Canadian border. And that is your World This Hour. For CBC News, I'm Neil Herland.
