I'm Claude Fague. The Prime Minister is in Paris today. One of Justin Trudeau's goals is to advance trade talks

with the European Union. 10 member countries still haven't ratified the EU's free trade agreement with Canada. Olivia Stefanovic tells us more. With Donald Trump warning, he will use economic coercion to absorb Canada. Trudeau is looking for support from European Union leaders. Both Canada and the EU are looking for trusted partners. Ruben Zaiotti is a political science professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

He says Trudeau should use his time overseas to secure new markets for Canadian goods and resources. Zayadi says there needs to be strong political will to break through the challenges preventing Canada's free trade agreement with the EU from being fully ratified. As far as in Europe, it's not that keen in being open to the free market. The Prime Minister is visiting France and Belgium, two of 10 EU countries that have turned down the comprehensive economic and trade agreement with Canada. Olivia Stefanovic, CBC News, Paris. The leaders of Europe's far-right political parties gathered in Madrid for a Make Europe Great Again rally and conference. As Abbey Kouathassen tells us, they see Donald Trump's return to power as a sign the far-right is gaining strength.

Do you want to make Spain great again? An American promise in Europe. Extreme far-right politicians on the continent hailed Donald Trump in Madrid. The event is hosted by a group called Patriots of Europe. Of the 720 members of the European Parliament, they hold 86 seats. Well-known far-right leaders, including France's Marine Le Pen, joined them. She says we are witnessing a true global shift. Some like Le Pen and Dutch politician Gerrit Wilders want their countries to leave the

EU altogether. The old regimes are going to fall. Speakers railed against irregular migration, even though such crossings have dropped across the EU by nearly 40% in 2024, according to the bloc's border agency. Abbie Kuo-Doss in CBC News, Berlin. President Trump has been in office for less than three weeks, but he's been busy uprooting and overturning just about every US federal government department. The plan is to try and overwhelm the opposition, but as Chris Reyes tells us,

it's being met with legal resistance. The first item that President Trump has signed. As President Donald Trump goes into his third week of office, the executive orders keep piling up, Washington State Attorney General, Nick Brown. What we're facing right now is a Trump administration and on a daily, daily basis, breaking the law, violating the United States Constitution.

Across the country, Democrats, civil rights groups and activists have turned to the courts to stem the tide of Trump's aggressive agenda. John Alsop writes for the Columbia Journalism Review. The courts are a potent weapon to fight back against Trump for his opponents, for sure, but the legal system is very, very slow. So far, some temporary holds have been put on Trump's executive orders. A federal judge in New York blocked the newly created Department of Government efficiency from accessing the Treasury Department's payment and data system.

The unofficial agency is led by Elon Musk, who's been repeatedly praised by Trump for the work he's doing. Chris Reyes, CBC News, New York. Russia has intercepted and destroyed 35 Ukrainian drones. That's according to the Russian Defense Ministry that also adds the incident took place overnight. At least half of the drones were destroyed over the Kursk region near Ukraine. The rest of the drones were intercepted in Russia's west and south. Meantime, according to Ukraine's military, Russia launched 151 drones, but its air force

shot down 70. And the Liberal Party will hold two leadership debates in Montreal, a French-language one on February 24th and an English one the next day on February 25th.
