In Scarborough, there's this fire behind our eyes.
A passion in our bellies.
It's in the hearts of our neighbors.
The eyes of our nurses.
And the hands of our doctors.
It's what makes Scarborough, Scarborough.
In our hospitals, we do more than anyone thought possible.
We've less than anyone could imagine.
But it's time to imagine what we can do with more.

we can turn grit into greatness.

The Prime Minister will be in Brussels today.
Justin Trudeau is meeting with European leaders
and the Secretary General of NATO. As Olivia Stefanovic reports, the talks come as US President
Donald Trump escalates threats against Canada over its defence spending and very existence.
This is a moment of pride. This is a moment of pulling together.
At this time of uncertainty, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is searching
for solid ground, allies who will stand up for each other, even as US President Donald
Trump ratchets up pressure. We'll also be working with our international partners and
friends. Trudeau is spending the day in Brussels where he will meet with the leaders of the
European Union who are facing similar threats. And And will be responding in firm and proportionate way by countermeasures.
Maros Seszkovic is the EU Trade Commissioner.
He's vowing retaliation against the US if it imposes tariffs on its 27 member states.
This is the way to protect European interest, but it is not our preferred scenario.
Trudeau is expected to coordinate a trade response with the EU.

Quebec Premier François Legault will be in Washington again today with his fellow premiers.
Yesterday he met with business leaders.
As Cathy Seney reports, the Quebec government is a major exporter of aluminum to the U.S.
and with the looming threat of tariffs, there's a lot at stake.
Nobody believes that he can produce more aluminum.
That's Quebec's premier François Legault's conclusion after his first day of meetings
in Washington, D.C.
He suggests tariffs are a risky business for President Donald Trump.
We, Quebec, supply 60 percent of their needs. They are in a bad position.
So too will be small and medium Quebec companies who fabricate aluminum products.
The province is promising to support them if the tariffs go ahead.
François Lagault believes Canada should reopen the current free trade agreement
with the
U.S. and Mexico to bring Trump onside.
Parti Québécois leader Paul Saint-Pierre Plamondon thinks it could make things worse.
For Quebec's economy minister Christine Frechette, what happens behind closed doors during France-Lago's
meetings can be a game changer.
There is nothing like an American to convince another American.
She says it's an important part of the province's strategy.

There is fresh hope that the war in Ukraine could soon end.
Last night, an American teacher who was detained in Russia returned to the United States as part of an exchange.
Mark Fogle was convicted after bringing marijuana through a Moscow airport.
President Putin was very generous and statesman-like in granting me a pardon.
Fogel appeared at the White House last night and met with President Donald Trump. The U.S. won't
say what it did in return for Russia, but Trump says the prisoner deal opens the door to diplomacy that could end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
I want to get the war ended. That war should not have been. It would have never happened if I was president.
It would not have happened. And it did happen. And now you have all blown up cities and dead people.
Two Australian nurses have been removed from their jobs after a video emerged of them bragging about refusing to treat Israeli
patients. One nurse even claimed to have killed Israeli patients in his hospital. Ryan Park
is the New South Wales Health Minister.
This video is disgusting. It is shocking. It is appalling.
Australian police are now investigating. It's considered one of the most prestigious dog shows in the world and
last night the top prize was announced.
For best in show at the 149th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show,
I choose the giant schnauzer.
Oh, Monty!
The crowd went wild in New York's Madison Square Garden.
And that is your World This Hour.
