From CBC News, the world this hour, I'm Claude Fague. Canada has won the inaugural Four Nations Face-Off Tournament, beating the United States in thrilling fashion.
Starting point is 00:00:44 The car sends it around Richmond Hill, Ontario, netted the game winner with just over eight minutes into the first overtime as Canada beat the U.S. 3-2 in Boston. Goalie Jordan Bittington, also a Richmond Hill native, turned aside 31 shots for the win. Coal Harbor Nova Scotia native Nathan McKinnon was named the tournament's most valuable player. But even before the first puck was dropped, a controversial start when Canadian singer
Starting point is 00:01:20 Chantal Kreviaszak, singing Oh Oh Canada reworded some of the lyrics. CBC News has confirmed through Creviaszak's representative Adam Gonshaw that she intentionally changed the lyrics. The RCMP have arrested two people for allegedly bilking hundreds of Canadians out of millions of dollars. The Mounties say the accused impersonated bank, government and law enforcement officials. Inspector Lena Dabbitt. Evidence indicates that the scale of their operation was enormous. We allege that these individuals are responsible for millions of dollars of loss to victims across Canada.
Starting point is 00:02:08 The Ontario RCMP has so far compiled a list of at least 570 victims coast to coast. Two people are charged with fraud, unauthorized computer use, money laundering, unauthorized possession of credit card data, and possessing the proceeds of crime. They're expected to appear in court on Friday. It's been three days since a Delta Airlines plane crash landed ending up on its roof. The plane has been removed from the tarmac but delays and cancellations remain at Toronto's Pearson Airport. Lisa Xing has the latest. They should come to the table and pony up something. Starting point is 00:02:55 on another airline. He is just one of many whose trips were canceled by Sunwing. The Vacation Airline told CBC News it was doing that to prioritize the return of customers delayed at their destinations. On Monday afternoon, Delta Flight 4819 arriving from Minneapolis crashed and flipped upside down on the tarmac at Toronto's Pearson. 21 people on board were sent to hospital. All of them now released. The plane now removed from the runway but travel for many is still interrupted. Duncan D is the former chief operating officer at Air Canada. Anyone who is traveling by air right now will be impacted. Sunwing did not say for how long the disruptions would last. Lisa Sheng, CBC News, Toronto.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Unifor says the future employment of 2,200 auto workers at a Stellantis plant in Brampton, Ontario is up in the air. The automaker has announced it's pausing work on the next generation electrified Jeep Compass SUV. It was scheduled to go into production in Brampton at the end of this year. It's not clear if the pause will result in layoffs. Prince Edward Island's premier Dennis King is stepping down. King says his health is good, but the job comes

The Progressive Conservative Caucus has picked Rob Lance to be the interim leader and premier. International Airlines landing in Australia and New Zealand are being warned to be mindful of live fire exercises being conducted by China in the Tasman Sea. Commercial pilots have been warned of potential hazard in airspace between the countries.
