In Scarborough, there's this fire behind our eyes.
A passion in our bellies.
It's in the hearts of our neighbors.
The eyes of our nurses.
And the hands of our doctors.
It's what makes Scarborough, Scarborough.
In our hospitals, we do more than anyone thought possible.
We've less than anyone could imagine.
But it's time to imagine what we can do with more.

we can turn grit into greatness.

From CBC News, the world this hour.
I'm Claude Fague.
Canada has won the inaugural
Four Nations Face-Off Tournament,
beating the United States in thrilling fashion.
O'Kyrs sends it around, Morgan, waiting.
Connor McDavid scores!
Connor McDavid for Canada!
As seen on Roger's sports net,
Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario
netted the game winner just over eight minutes
into the first overtime as Canada beat the US 3-2 in Boston.
Goalie Jordan Bittington also
from Richmond Hill turned aside 31 shots for the win.
Coal Harbor Nova Scotia native Nathan McKinnon was named the tournament's
most valuable player. But even before the first puck was dropped, a controversial
start to the game when Canadian singer Chantal Kravizac singing Oh Canada
reworded some of the lyrics.
True patriot love that only us command.
CBC News has confirmed through Kravizac's representative Adam Gonshaw that she intentionally changed the lyrics.
There's been a political shakeup in Prince Edward Island.
Yesterday, Premier Dennis King announced he was resigning
and a new Premier has been announced.
Wayne Thibodeau has the details.
It has been difficult, it has been challenging,
but it has been the gift of a lifetime.
An emotional PEI Premier Dennis King announcing yesterday
he's resigning as Premier and Leader
of the Progressive Conservative Party.
King says facing U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of tariffs and the threats to the
country's sovereignty will require somebody who is all in.
They will require the attention every minute of every day for the next four years.
And that really helped me determine that it was best for me to hand the baton of leadership.
King's education minister Rob Lantz has been named the party's interim leader
and the 34th premier of Prince Edward Island.
He will take office later today.
King led the province through some tough times, including the global pandemic,
a virus that almost devastated the PEI potato industry, and in his words, two
of the most destructive hurricanes to ever hit the province's shores.

A Vancouver Island man is putting tariff tensions aside and reaching across the border to invite
thousands of Americans to visit his small town on Vancouver Island. The invitation, shared on TikTok, has taken off among Americans as a way to protest
President Trump's treatment of Canada. Georgie Smythe has more.
Hey Americans who support Canadians, I have an idea. What if we pick a day in like a month and a half or so
where all of you come up here to Vancouver Island?
Todd Mathen is throwing down the welcome mat for thousands of Americans.
Should we do this?
To support Canada by signing up to visit his town, Nanaimo, in the spring.
The invite and the video went viral down south,
provoking shares like this.
He says, hey, one dollar's worth of $1.46 up here, right?
Maffin, who's a business journalist, says the idea was kind of an accident but could
have a huge positive impact on the seaside town.
We're past 2,000 people now.
If 10% of those 2,000 show up, 200 people, it's still going to be, I think, a pretty
decent boost to the Mid-Island economy.
The local tourism board has already got hotel bookings from people as far as Texas and Florida,
Canadians and Americans trading travel tips again instead
of tariffs for now. Georgie Smythe, CBC News, Vancouver.
International airlines landing in Australia and New Zealand are being warned to be mindful
of possible live-fire exercises being conducted by China in the Tasman Sea. Australia's foreign
minister says Chinese warships are in the area
conducting the exercises off Australia's east coast. Several international flights were diverted
as a result. China notified Australia that People's Liberation Army Navy would hold live fire
exercises. Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said it was unclear if in fact live fire had been used
by the Chinese Navy.
And that is your World This Hour.
