1942, Europe. Soldiers find a boy surviving alone in the woods. They make him a member
of Hitler's army. But what no one would know for decades, he was Jewish.
Could a story so unbelievable be true?

There are more mixed messages from the Trump administration on its efforts to end the war
in Ukraine.
Speaking this morning, US President Donald Trump says Ukraine had no cards to play in
peace negotiations and continues to demand Ukraine sign a critical minerals deal with
the US.
Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz is also defending the American decision to
meet with the Russians without Kiev.
We're sitting down talking to the Russians understanding what they
are going to need and then understanding what the Ukrainians are
going to need talking to all of the Europeans. You can't end a war if you
don't talk to both sides and that's what we're doing. It comes just hours after
Trump's envoy to Ukraine and Russia met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr
Zelensky. Retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg calls him a courageous and embattled leader
and says their talks were extensive and positive.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is vowing revenge on Hamas militants.
As the Prime Minister of Israel, I vow that I will not rest until the savages who executed
our hostages are brought to justice."
One of the bodies Hamas released yesterday as part of the hostage exchange deal was found
not to be that of an Israeli mother, as the militants had promised.
The body of Shiri Bibas was supposed to be returned along with those of her two children,
but Israeli investigators say the body was that of an unidentified woman from Gaza.
Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari is calling it a clear violation of the ceasefire.
We demand that Hamas release Shiri in accordance with the agreement.
Our mission is not over until every single hostage comes home.
Hamas says it is looking into the
matter, suggesting the remains appear to have been mixed with others in the rubble
from an Israeli airstrike. It's released the names of the six hostages all alive
to be freed tomorrow. The man accused of stabbing author Salman Rushdie has been
found guilty of attempted murder and assault. In August of 2022, 27-year-old Hadi Mattar ran up onto a New York stage where Rushdie was about
to give a speech. The attacker proceeded to stab the author more than a dozen
times before he was tackled to the ground. The 77-year-old Rushdie survived
but lost sight in one eye. Canada's hockey team won big last night at the
Four Nations Face-Off Tournament final but the other team Canada is still
trying to score on the diplomatic front. Two premiers are in Washington for
meetings with US governors hoping to convince them to push back on Trump's
tariff plans. Cameron McIntosh has more.
The man am I happy that Canadians won last night.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford breathing a sigh of relief over Canada's win over the US.
While lobbying in Washington at a meeting of US governors trying to convince them
tariffs are a bad idea.
Hopefully this won't happen and the message down here is a tariff on Canada's attacks on Americans.
Ford is here with Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston.
Together, they're meeting with governors, both Republican and Democrat.
Success is just getting people to listen and engage in dialogue.
The hope says Ford, convince enough people to convince President Trump.
I'm very confident.
Last week, all 13 premiers were in D.C. with a similar message.
But President Trump is still threatening to impose a 25% tariff on all Canadian imports
on March 4.
Cameron McIntosh, CBC News, Washington.
Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming the Premier of Prince Edward.
Rob Lentz has been sworn in as P.E.I.''s new premier in Charlottetown this afternoon.
He assumed the post less than 24 hours after Dennis King announced he was resigning and
stepping away from politics.
Lantz was the leader of the province's Progressive Conservative Party in 2015, but he failed
to win his own seat in that year's provincial election.
He has most recently been acting as education
minister.
And that is your World This Hour for CBC News. I'm Karen Howelluck.
