Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is not ruling out sending Canadian troops to Ukraine as
part of a possible peace deal. He spoke today at a summit in Kiev on the third anniversary
of Russia's invasion. Trudeau said everything is on the table when asked whether Canada
was willing to put boots on the ground to help maintain security in Ukraine.
He insists Canada support for the country will continue for the extent of the war and after.
Canadians continue to stand strong with Ukraine and Ukrainians appreciate
deeply the unequivocal support that Canada has and will always deliver.
The war is not over yet.
We will continue to stand with Ukraine until the war is over and until Ukraine wins.
Canada has also promised 25 light armored vehicles for Ukraine, as well as $5 billion
in aid seized from frozen Russian assets.
Tensions between the US and Europe were on full display at the UN General Assembly in
New York.
The assembly adopted a resolution backed by Europe calling for the immediate withdrawal
of Russian troops from Ukraine.
The US voted against it, putting forward its own draft instead.
The American proposal called for a swift end to the war, but made no mention of Moscow's
aggression.
The US ended up abstaining from the vote on its own resolution after the text was amended by European countries.

Killing me softly was a massive hit for Flack in 1973, winning the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.
She won the same honor the year before with another top 10 single, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. The haunting ballad became a breakout hit in
the 1972 Clint Eastwood film Play Misty for Me. Flack was the first artist to
win consecutive Grammys for Best Record. She was diagnosed with ALS three years
ago. Roberta Flack was 88. And that is Your World This Hour. For CBC News, I'm
Tom Harrington.
