In Scarborough, there's this fire behind our eyes.
A passion in our bellies.
It's in the hearts of our neighbors.
The eyes of our nurses.
And the hands of our doctors.
It's what makes Scarborough, Scarborough.
In our hospitals, we do more than anyone thought possible.
We've less than anyone could imagine.
But it's time to imagine what we can do with more.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has arrived in London
to join European leaders at a summit on Ukraine.
The summit will look at how to secure Ukraine security
and it's happening on Sunday. Tom Perry reports. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau touched down in
London Saturday evening. He'll join European leaders on Sunday at a summit hosted by UK Prime
Minister Keir Starmer. Starmer was in Washington this week meeting with US President Donald Trump.
That was before Trump sat down with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky
at a meeting in the Oval Office,
in which Trump and his Vice President berated Zelensky
and called him ungrateful for American support.
Ralph Goodale, Canada's High Commissioner to the UK,
says that meeting was tough to watch.
It was very difficult to see Mr. Zelensky
have to suffer through that very difficult situation.
And it will be good to hear world leaders together saying how much they stand in support of Mr. Zelensky and Ukraine.
Goodell says despite that difficult meeting, it's critically important the U.S. stay engaged in Ukraine.
Tom Perry, CBC News, London.
In the United States, reaction to the oval office fracas has been mixed.
Many experts are critical, while many Republicans are backing Trump.
Steve Futterman has more.
The fallout continues, along with concern about a potentially seismic shift
in the nearly century-old U.S. policy of supporting Western European democracies.
John Bolton, who served as national security advisor during Trump's first term, blasted his
former boss. It's a disaster for the security of the West as a whole. We've got an American president
and vice president who have now unequivocally taken Russia's side. Secretary of State Marco
Rubio is critical of Zelensky and says Trump is trying to come
up with a way to end the war.
President Trump's made deals his entire life.
He's not going to get suckered into some deal that's not a real deal.
Trump supporters blame Zelensky for the confrontation, including some Republicans who have historically
been strong opponents of Vladimir Putin.
It's a long way from the days of Ronald Reagan
calling the Soviet Union the evil empire. Steve Futterman for CBC News, Los Angeles.
Muslims around the world are marking the start of Ramadan, a time of fasting, prayer and
spiritual reflection, with thousands gathering nightly in mosques for prayers and iftar,
the sunset meal that breaks the daily fast. But Imam Musama Raja with Surrey's Jamiah Mosque says the holy holiday is about more
than just fasting. This month is about reconnecting to Allah and this month is
about helping others in need whether they're Muslims, non-muslims, whatever
race they're from, whatever background they're from, this month is about helping
people. In BC's Lower mainland, preparations are underway for Ramadan Fest, a new nighttime
festival that begins next week.
7-Eleven stores in Winnipeg are losing hundreds of dollars to theft daily, according to the
city's police board.
City Councilor Marcus Chambers met with the company on Friday.
He says the level of theft is not sustainable and that the police plan to launch a new retail theft initiative.
It would look like the initiative that took place during the Christmas holidays, officers
connecting with retailers, with businesses and making sure that we're hearing exactly
what's going on and then creating that greater police presence right in the community and
neighbourhoods.
7-Eleven officials warned city councillors last year that 10 of their stores were at risk of closing.
Since then, several locations have permanently shut their doors.
And the last surviving member of the punk rock group New York Dolls has died.
David Johansson was the frontman for the glam and proto-punk band in the 1970s.
He also enjoyed success with his alter ego, Buster Point Dexter,
in the 80s with this smash hit.
Hot Hot Hot became a sensation in clubs and at functions, Johansson was 75 years old.
