What does a mummified Egyptian child, the Parthenon marbles of Greece and an Irish
giant all have in common? They are all stuff the British stole. Maybe. Join me,
Mark Fennell, as I travel around the globe uncovering the shocking stories
of how some, let's call them ill-gotten, artifacts made it to faraway institutions.
Spoiler, it was probably the British. Don't miss a brand new season of Stuff the British Style.
Watch it free on CBC Gem.

With all eyes on Washington,
Canadians are bracing for what could be
one of the most consequential weeks in recent history.
The latest threat from US President Donald Trump has sweeping tariffs going into effect tomorrow on almost all Canadian goods entering the United States.
Peter Armstrong has more.
The drugs continue to pour into our country. And with that, US President Donald Trump said he would simply have to push ahead with sweeping
tariffs against all goods coming from Canada, a 25% levy on almost everything, oil to be
hit by a slightly lesser 10% tariff.
And yet, we've been here before.
These tariffs were initially threatened on January 20th, delayed on Inauguration Day
to February 1st, then February 4th, and finally the deadline
was delayed by a month to March 4th after Canada said it would make good on a promise
to spend $1.3 billion on border security.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told Fox News on Sunday some progress has been made,
but
There are going to be tariffs on Tuesday on Mexico and Canada exactly what they are
We're gonna leave that for the president and his team
To negotiate the threat of tariffs has become a near permanent fixture on the economic landscape
And that is unlikely to change soon Peter Armstrong CBC News, Washington
Incidentally members of the Trump administration spent the week on the spent the weekend on the US news networks
Arguing that tariffs will ultimately benefit Americans
However, a new report from the Peterson Institute for International Economics says the Trump tariffs on Canada will cost the average US household at least
$1,200 a year
After spending the weekend at a European Security Summit in London Prime Minister Justin Trudeau closed out his visit to Britain with a meeting today with King Charles.
Crystal Gomancing has more.
King Charles and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared to have a good meeting.
Pictures of the two at Sandringham showed them laughing and sitting down for a chat. Before his audience with the King, the Prime Minister said he planned to discuss
matters of importance to Canada and that nothing seemed more important to Canadians right now
than standing up for the country's sovereignty. Since the end of November, U.S. President
Donald Trump and members of his administration have been taunting Canada, calling it the
51st state and referring to the Prime Minister as Governor Trudeau.
King Charles has not commented on the President's remarks.
That is in line with protocol.
He would take direction from the Prime Minister and now that the meeting has wrapped, it is
possible that going forward we could hear the King say something in defense of Canada
being a sovereign nation and part of
the Commonwealth realm.

One person has been killed and three people are injured after a vehicle was driven into
a crowd today in the German city of Mannheim.
Police say a suspect is in custody but have yet to characterize the incident as an attack.
Images from the scene show the city's downtown area
cordoned off with a heavy police presence
that includes multiple helicopters.
In recent months, vehicles have been used as weapons
in several acts of violence in Germany.
