1942, Europe. Soldiers find a boy surviving alone in the woods. They make him a member
of Hitler's army. But what no one would know for decades, he was Jewish.
Could a story so unbelievable be true?

Unless Canadian officials can orchestrate a last-minute reprieve, it appears across-the-board tariffs on Canadian products entering the U.S. will go into effect as of tomorrow.
But it is possible the size of the tariffs might still be negotiable.
Megan Fitzpatrick has more now from Washington.
Last week Trump wrote on his social media that he's not satisfied in terms of the measures
that Canada has taken to address his border concerns and that
things were still on track to impose the tariffs tomorrow. Then yesterday his
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick did an interview on Fox News and while he
indicated that Trump still intends to impose the tariffs he suggested the size
of them may not be 25% after all.
Lutnick indicated that things have improved somewhat at the border in terms of the illegal
crossings but he was indicating the US is still not satisfied on the fentanyl front.
So this really could go down to the wire.
Today will be a crucial day for Canadian officials to try and convince Trump not to follow through
but if he is intent on it, perhaps negotiating
down from the 25% or maybe carving out some exemptions.
Again, it's still pretty unclear what might happen.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is headed back to Ottawa after closing out his visit to Britain
with an audience today with King Charles.
Trudeau was in London for a summit of, for a European security summit.
And going into his meeting with the King today,
Trudeau had said he would be raising issues
such as Canadian sovereignty.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's office has announced
that Denis King has been appointed
Canada's next ambassador to Ireland.
King stepped down as Premier of PEI just 10 days ago
after almost six years in office.
Cain will be following in the footsteps of another former PEI Premier, Pat Binns.
Binns spent three years as the ambassador to Ireland after being voted out of office
in 2007.
It's another day of protest across Jerusalem with demonstrators today taking to the streets
demanding that the Israeli government move forward on the latest ceasefire proceedings
with Hamas.
Sasha Pentresic reports.
With the ceasefire in doubt, protesters fill the streets of Jerusalem, worried that Israel's
hard line against Hamas militants will restart war in Gaza.
Israel has blocked all aid deliveries to the territory with Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pressuring Hamas to accept a US proposal that would
see more hostages released and a continued pause in fighting.
Israel has accepted this plan, I accepted this plan, but so far Hamas has
rejected it. Hamas is pushing for a permanent end to the conflict,
as agreed in a ceasefire deal both sides signed six weeks ago,
one that's led to 33 hostages exchanged
for almost 2,000 Palestinian detainees in Israel so far.

Now to this year's Academy Awards, handed out last night in Los Angeles and right across
the board it was the film, Anorah, that was the big winner.
Eli Glasner has the details.
While many had expected the Academy Awards to be a night of surprises, the Oscars played
out pretty much as expected with Anorah winning five out of six nominated categories including
best picture, best director,
best original screenplay, and best actress.
Now that category, many expected Demi Moore
to win for her role in The Substance,
but it was Mikey Madison who took home
the best actress prize for playing
the sex worker named Anora.
It's quite the result for a small film
with only a $4 million US budget. Samantha Kwan is the Canadian producer of Anora. It's quite the result for a small film with only a four million dollar US budget.
Samantha Kwan is the Canadian producer of Anora. We made this with very little money but all of our
hearts to all of the dreamers and the young filmmakers out there. Tell the stories you want
to tell. Tell the stories that move you. I promise you, you will never regret it. Other big winners
included Adrienne Brody for his role in The Brutalist
and Zoe Zadania winning for her role as a lawyer in Amelia Perez. Eli Glaster, CBC News, Los Angeles.
