1942, Europe. Soldiers find a boy surviving alone in the woods. They make him a member
of Hitler's army. But what no one would know for decades, he was Jewish.
Could a story so unbelievable be true?

Donald Trump insists this time the tariffs are coming.
A 25% tax on Canadian and Mexican imported goods will go ahead tomorrow.
Speaking at the White House this afternoon, the president said there's no room left for
negotiations. Peter Armstrong reports. As Donald Trump made an investment announcement
at the White House, many were hoping he'd provide some clarity. Well, be careful what you wish for.
Tomorrow tariffs 25% on Canada and 25% on Mexico and that'll start.
So they're gonna have to have a tariff. So what they have to do is build their car
plants frankly and other things in the United States, in which case they have no tariffs.
Now you may say tomorrow's deadline was supposed to be about the border and fentanyl smuggling.
That doesn't seem to matter, but when asked whether Canada or Mexico
could do anything to stave off these tariffs, Trump was abundantly clear.
No room left for Mexico or for Canada. No, the tariffs, you know, they're all set.
They go into effect tomorrow. That said, Trump has threatened these exact tariffs
several times now, only to cut a deal at the last minute.
Peter Armstrong, CBC News, Washington.
If Trump is imposing tariffs, we're ready.
Melanie Jolie reacting to the news of the incoming tariffs.
The Foreign Affairs Minister saying Ottawa has $155 billion worth of levies ready to
go.
The first of those will be on $30 billion worth of goods. This is an existential threat to us.
And there are thousands of jobs in Canada at stake.
Now, we've done the work.
We are ready should the US decide to launch their trade war.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is currently on his way back to Canada from London.
Julie says she will speak with Trudeau upon his return.
The Prime Minister has spoken publicly about matching the American tariffs dollar for dollar.
Ontario's premier says he could cut the power to several US states.
Doug Ford spoke of retaliation before Trump confirmed the tariffs are on.
Ontario exports electricity to Michigan, Minnesota and New York.
But if they want to try to annihilate Ontario, I will do everything, including cut off their energy, with a smile on my face. The province's liquor distributor has been told to take U.S. alcohol
off the shelves when tariffs go ahead. The Prime Minister's office has announced Dennis King has
been appointed Canada's next ambassador to Ireland.
King stepped down as Premier of PEI just 10 days ago after almost six years in office.
At the time, King said he never planned to seek elected office again and had no plans
to run federally.
Negotiations between the US and Ukraine are on hold for now after last week's Oval Office
shouting match.
But President Trump says a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine shouldn't be that hard
to hammer out, and it should be done quickly.
Steve Funderman reports.
Just days after his contentious Oval Office meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, Donald Trump
is still complaining.
Well, I just think you should be more appreciative because this country has stuck with them through
thick and thin.
We've given them much more than Europe.
But Trump seemed to leave the door open to revisiting a possible deal between the U.S.
and Ukraine involving rare earth minerals and the U.S.'s continued financial commitment.
That deal was supposedly about to be signed before the Oval Office confrontation.
Ukraine minerals deal now dead or can it be revived?
Well I'll let you know we're making a speech you probably heard about it tomorrow night
so I'll let you know tomorrow night.
But no I don't think so.
As far as an agreement to end the war in Ukraine, Trump claimed that can be done very quickly,
then suggested Zelensky may not want to make a deal.
If that's the case, Trump said that person may not be around very long.
Steve Futterman for CBC News, Los Angeles.
Pope Francis suffered new complications in his recovery from double pneumonia. The Vatican
says Francis experienced two episodes of what they're calling acute respiratory insufficiency.
As a result, he went back on non-invasive mechanical ventilation. The Vatican says he
was alert and oriented.
And that is your World This Hour.
For CBC News, I'm Tom Harrington.
Thanks for listening.
