In Scarborough, there's this fire behind our eyes.
A passion in our bellies.
It's in the hearts of our neighbors.
The eyes of our nurses.
And the hands of our doctors.
It's what makes Scarborough, Scarborough.
In our hospitals, we do more than anyone thought possible.
We've less than anyone could imagine.
But it's time to imagine what we can do with more.

From CBC News, the world this hour.
I'm Gina Louise Phillips.
Federal liberals have voted overwhelmingly
for Mark Carney to take over as their new leader.
The former governor of the Bank of Canada
and Bank of England
will replace Justin Trudeau and be sworn in as Prime Minister in the coming days.
As Tom Perry reports, he will lead the Liberal Party into an election
that must happen by October but is expected much sooner.
I will work day and night with one purpose,
which is to build a stronger Canada for everyone.
For Mark Carney it's a resounding win.
The former bank governor took more than 85% of the vote in the Liberal leadership race,
more than 10 times the support of the second place finisher, former Deputy Prime Minister
Christia Freeland.
This is a strong, clear result for the Liberal Party. Mark has a very
clear mandate. Freeland offered Carney her full backing as did the other two contenders
in the race, former government house leader Karina Gould and businessman and former MP
Frank Bayless. In his acceptance speech, Carney vowed to strengthen the economy and continue
the federal government's campaign against US President Donald Trump and his trade war.
In trade, as in hockey, Canada will win.
Tom Perry, CBC News, Ottawa.
The outgoing Prime Minister also spoke at the convention giving a farewell speech. I have done my level best each and every single day
to help build a country that stays worthy of all Canadians.
I've done it for Xavier, for Ella Grace and Hadrian.
And I've done it for your kids too.
I've done it with you.
And although you'll always find me alongside you cheering along, their future and your
future is now in your hands.
Justin Trudeau won three elections starting in 2015.
Conservative leader Pierre Polyev is criticizing Mark Carney by trying to link him to the Trudeau
Liberals.
Polyev spoke at a rally in London, Ontario, just before the Liberals elected their new
leader.
They're going to try to get elected for a fourth term.
A fourth term by replacing Justin Trudeau with his economic adviser, Mark Carney.
Carney's advice drove up taxes, housing costs, and food prices.
In 2007, the Harper Conservative government appointed Mark Carney to lead Canada's central
bank. But Harper recently tried to downplay Cardi's role in his government. An Israeli team will be at the negotiating table in Doha today as efforts to move forward
with a Gaza ceasefire continue.
Yesterday Israel shut down electricity to the Gaza Strip, leaving thousands in the dark.
Soon they could also be without drinking water.
The CBC's Crystal Guamanszing explains from Jerusalem. We support negotiations.
We have extended our hands for peace, says Umm Mohammed.
She, like many in Gaza, hope with talks restarting, it will mean an end to the war.
Israel wants to extend the ceasefire which has been in place since mid-January.
On Sunday, Israel's energy minister, Eli Eli Cohen announced he signed an order to cut electricity to Gaza,
saying we will activate all of the tools at our disposal so all of the hostages return.
59 remain in Gaza, 24 are believed to still be alive.
The power cut will stop clean water production at Gaza's desalination plant. A week earlier all aid shipments were halted. In a statement
Hamas called the moves cheap and unacceptable, urging the UN and world
leaders to denounce what it describes as collective punishment.
