In Scarborough, there's this fire behind our eyes.
A passion in our bellies.
It's in the hearts of our neighbors.
The eyes of our nurses.
And the hands of our doctors.
It's what makes Scarborough, Scarborough.
In our hospitals, we do more than anyone thought possible.
We've less than anyone could imagine.
But it's time to imagine what we can do with more.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer says now is the time
for Russian President Vladimir Putin
to show he's serious about
peace in Ukraine.
President Zelensky has shown once again and beyond any doubt that Ukraine is the party
of peace.
Vladimir has committed to a 30-day unconditional ceasefire, but Putin is trying to delay.
Starmor hosted a meeting of the so-called Coalition of the Willing today.
It's a group of nations committed to supporting Ukraine in its battle against Russia.
Canada's among them, but not the United States.
Anna Cunningham has more.
This was a two-hour video meeting attended by Prime Minister Mark Carney,
along with French President Emmanuel Macron, other European leaders,
the NATO chief and Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky.
Its conclusion, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer says, is that now is the time for
action, not words.
We agree to accelerate our practical work to support a potential deal.
That 30-day ceasefire deal put forward by the US in Saudi Arabia earlier this week was
agreed by Ukraine but not by the Kremlin. Vladimir Putin asking questions and wanting conditions.
Stammer described Putin's response as a yes but no.
Britain and France have already said they're willing to put troops on the ground in Ukraine
in the event of securing a peace deal.
It's a suggestion Putin has rejected.
The British Prime Minister insisted that the US President Donald Trump is absolutely committed
to lasting peace.

Israel's Prime Minister will gather his top aides and security officials later today.
A briefing is expected with the negotiating team that was in Doha for ceasefire talks
this week.
Crystal Gomancing reports. Hassam Qasim, a Hamas spokesperson, said they are prepared to release a living Israeli hostage
of dual citizenship as well as the bodies of dual citizens.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister, called Friday's proposal psychological warfare.
What Hamas has done is outrageous.
Speaking at the G7 meeting in Quebec,
Secretary of State Marco Rubio did not say
if the U.S. rejects the proposal.
We're sitting around as the world sort of accepting
that it's normal and OK for you to go into a place,
kidnap babies, kidnap teenagers,
kidnap people that have nothing to do with any wars,
that are not soldiers, that are not anything,
and taking them and putting them in tunnels
for almost a year and a half.
Netanyahu is under pressure to stop Hamas from being a threat to Israel in the future
and bring back all of the hostages while not doing anything that could put the 24 believed
to still be alive in Gaza at greater risk of death.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is predicting an increase in industrial carbon taxes.
This afternoon, Prime Minister Mark Carney eliminated the consumer carbon tax.
So it's unclear to me if he intends to layer on top of what we were already doing
or what that price is going to look like.
But that's why we need an election, is to get some clarity on just how badly
he's gonna punish the oil and gas sector
and what that new industrial pricing scheme
he talked about during the leadership is gonna look like.
Smith says Alberta's had industrial carbon pricing
since 2007.
She says Carney got rid of the transparent carbon tax
in favor of increasing industrial pricing.
And it's elbows up in Elbow, Saskatchewan.
People from the village of about 300 organized a rally to send a message to American President
Donald Trump.
Joan Soji has lived there for 61 years.
It's a natural place.
We're kind of almost smack dab in the middle of the country.
And I think it's high time that we took centre stage as the middle heart of the country and the epicentre of Elbows Up.
Canadian actor Mike Myers recently mouthed the words on Saturday Night Live
to protest Trump's trade war with Canada. It's a phrase that evokes memories of
hockey legend Gordie Howe and one of his nicknames, Mr. Elbows.
And that is your World This Hour.
