Starting point is 00:00:00 In Scarborough, there's this fire behind our eyes. A passion in our bellies. It's in the hearts of our neighbors. The eyes of our nurses. And the hands of our doctors. It's what makes Scarborough, Scarborough. In our hospitals, we do more than anyone thought possible. We've less than anyone could imagine.
Starting point is 00:00:19 But it's time to imagine what we can do with more. Join Scarborough Health Network and together, we can turn grit into greatness. Donate at lovescarborough.ca. ...street to Canada. And confront President Trump from a position of strength. Thank you. Next question. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Mr. Paul-Yves-Boris Proulx, good to see you. Good to see you. Donald Trump is scaring Canadians with his tariffs, but simply Trump's policies being introduced in the U.S. are scaring Canadians. So what do you say to Canadians who are listening today and who hear what you're saying about the media, international aid, transgender persons and so forth, and who are concerned about the
Starting point is 00:01:12 similarities between what you're saying and what the Trump administration is saying. Well, I'm Canadian. I will put our country first for a change. That is our goal. When I say that I want to cut taxes to bring back jobs to Canada and help our workers, it is for Canadians that I say that, not for Americans. And when I say that I want to develop our natural resources and build pipelines, that
Starting point is 00:01:47 is to the disadvantage of President Trump, and it's to our advantage that we do that. Making Canada stronger and more sovereign in the face of the United States is in our national interest, and that's what I intend to do as Prime Minister of Canada. Thank you very much. What we need to do is put Canada first for a change. When I say that I'm going to cut taxes and unleash our resource production, bring home our jobs, that's bad news for President Trump because it means we're going to be bringing back not only the investment the Liberals have driven south, but also becoming more self-reliant
Starting point is 00:02:30 and sovereign to stand on our own feet and stand up to President Trump. That is how we put our country first, and it's how we bring real change to Canadians. Thank you. Next question. Hello, Mr. Poilier with Christian Noël from Radio-Canada. Good morning. People on the streets are saying that they're looking for a Captain Canada to protect them, and an antidote to Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:02:59 As my colleague Boris just said, some of the policies you're promoting are similar to those put forward by President Trump, and people in the street are worried about that. How can you differentiate yourself from Donald Trump at this time in order to reassure Canadians? I haven't seen how your policies are different from those of Mr. Trump, and how can you reassure people that's the case if you are re-elected? Well, first of all, I've said I want the opposite of Donald Trump. He wants to impose tariffs on our industries and on our companies. It's the Liberals that want to do that.
Starting point is 00:03:42 They want to tax our businesses as Donald Trump does the same. Donald Trump wants to take our resources away from us at the lowest price. And it's the Liberals that have allowed him to do that by blocking the construction of pipelines and natural gas plants and expansion of our port facilities. The Liberals have worked in the favour of Donald Trump rather than Canada. And I want the reverse. I want to bring back the half trillion dollars that the Liberals drove to the United States. Because when I talk to people in the street, you talked about people in the street. Well, you know what they're saying? They're afraid of losing their jobs because our economy is weak after 10 years of the Liberals. They're afraid of not being able to pay for groceries or buy a house or a place
Starting point is 00:04:39 to live. And I'm the only person offering true change to bring back the Promise of Canada, to bring back jobs to Canada, and allow people to have a great future like our parents and grandparents had.
