I'm Neil Herland. The Conservative leader's opponents are pressuring him again to get top security clearance amid new reports of foreign meddling.

And Pierre Polyev is responding by accusing the Liberal leader of being compromised. JP Tasker has more. I want the leadership fair and square. Conservative leader Pierre Polyev is pushing back against reporting that according to the country's intelligence agency, CSIS, agents of the Indian government were allegedly involved in raising money and organizing for his 2022 leadership bid. Sources tell Rédiot Canada CSIS has no evidence Poliev knew agents of India were trying to help him win.

What I will not do is commit to the oath of secrecy. Poliev has so far refused to get the necessary clearance to learn about alleged incidents like this. Poliev is also trying to turn the tables, saying it's liberal leader Mark Carney who is compromised. He met with Chinese officials while chair of Brookfield Asset Management. Why would he be collaborating with a hostile foreign regime? A spokesperson for Carney said the China claims are a distraction and Poliev is panicking.

JP Tasker, CBC News, Hamilton, Ontario. The US National Security Advisor is taking the blame for a texting scandal. Look, I take full responsibility. I built the group. Waltz and other members of the Trump administration are trying to discredit the journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, editor and chief of the Atlantic, after he reported what happened. Housing is proving to be one of the top issues this election, with party leaders promising to make housing more affordable. Lisa Shing is taking a closer look at some of the proposals. Poliev strengthening a promise he made in the fall. Taking GST, the federal sales tax, off of all homes under 1.3 million dollars. He said that would save home buyers up to $65,000. Last week, Liberal leader Mark Carney announced something very similar. No GST for first-time home buyers on new homes under $1 million. That is the savings of up to $50,000 off the price of a home. That tax cut might help some, but not all prospective buyers. This is not getting it rooted the problem. Frank Clayton, urban and housing researcher at Toronto Metropolitan University says the

promises don't deal with the shortage of housing supply. All this will do is increase the demand. Lisa Sheng, CBC News, Toronto. Three people are dead after an avalanche in southeastern B.C. It happened Monday on the east side of Kootenay Lake, a high-risk avalanche zone. Brady Strachan reports. RCMP Staff Sergeant Chris Clark says the avalanche came down in the Clute Creek watershed. Clark says two groups of heliskiers were waiting in a staging area when the slide hit.

He says one of the groups was swept away into a tree line. Efforts to recover the men were initiated. All four were recovered. Sadly, three were found deceased. Clark says the victims are a 53-year-old guide from Caslow along with two skiers. A fourth skier, a 40-year-old man from Nelson, was taken to hospital with critical injuries. The slide occurred in an area currently listed as high for avalanche danger, according to Avalanche Canada.

It's always good to be aware of avalanche conditions and go prepared. We just want everybody to be safe and to enjoy the backcountry safe. This year, there have been two other avalanche deaths in B.C., a backcountry skier and a snowmobiler in separate incidents. Brady Strachan, CBC News, Kelowna. And that is your World This Hour.
