Anti-Trump demonstrations are being planned in 1,200 cities across the US
today. Organizers say the hands-off rallies will give people a chance to
demonstrate their opposition to Trump's sweeping
changes to foreign and domestic policy. And Americans in Canada are expected to rally
outside the U.S. consulate in Toronto this afternoon. Liberal leader Mark Carney says a
key part of building a stronger, more resilient Canadian economy is ensuring Canada has the skilled tradesmen to build it.

party has a plan to ensure every single Canadian has a family doctor by 2030 and qualifying
foreign-trained doctors is at the core of that plan.
Specifically, Singh wants to ensure more people from rural and remote communities can go to
medical school.
He'll offer provinces which sign on a 1% top-up on their Canada health transfer payments.
As U.S. tariffs begin rolling out around the world, global economies are preparing their
responses.
U.S. President Donald Trump has implemented tariffs at 10 percent on all imported goods.
The move has triggered the worst week of stocks since the COVID-19 pandemic five years ago.

From midnight Eastern time,
seaports, airports and customs warehouses in the US
were ready for the new US tariffs.
The baseline 10% tariff will impact everything
from electronics to clothing.
The move, the US administration says, is designed to address trade imbalances and boost US manufacturing.
All US ports were informed that there was to be no grace period for cargoes moving on
the water at midnight.
Britain, Australia, Colombia, Argentina, Egypt and Saudi Arabia were the first countries
to be hit by these new US tariffs.
Starting next Wednesday, about 60 countries will face additional steeper tariffs.
Leaders from the UK, Italy and Australia held calls this morning agreeing that an all-out
trade war would be extremely damaging.
