Chris Brown has more from Rome. In St. Peter's Basilica, on the final day for viewing Pope Francis' open coffin, there was unmistakable emotion, with sadness, but also appreciation

He met the Pope in 2022 when Francis made a historic apology to Canadian residential school survivors. Nothing was going to stop me from praying so I had a chance to look at him and and bow to him and thank him for everything he's done for us. Francis's funeral will be unique for Popes. Not only will it be held outside, it will involve a procession out of St. Peter's Square

A new jury has been selected for the case against five former World Junior Hockey players accused of sexual assault. A London, Ontario judge declared a mistrial on Friday morning, dismissing the previous
Starting point is 00:02:53 jury. The highly unusual move comes shortly after court proceedings began Tuesday. Karen Pauls has the details. The jury had just started hearing evidence in this high-profile sexual assault case when something happened Resulting in the decision to declare a mistrial the reasons for that are under a publication ban The jurors are now dismissed essentially you drop the mic you're done Everyone's gone. Nick cake is a former Crown attorney in London, Ontario now a local defense lawyer He's not a part of this case but is following it closely.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Cake says the decision is about preserving the integrity of a fair trial. It's not a conspiracy, it's not a cover-up, it's how the justice system works and it is there to ensure that all parties in the justice system can get their day in court but can get their day in court fairly. A new jury of nine women and five men has already been selected, with hopes a new trial can start on Monday. Karen Polz, CBC News, London, Ontario. The woman who accused Prince Andrew and other men of sexually exploiting her as a teenager trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein has died.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Virginia Joufray was 41 years old. According to her published, Joufray died by suicide on Friday at her farm in Western Australia. Liquidation has begun at Hudson's Bay's remaining stores. Markdowns are up to 70% off. The sell-off began after the company could not find a buyer. HBC had hoped to save its last six stores.
