1942, Europe. Soldiers find a boy surviving alone in the woods. They make him a member
of Hitler's army. But what no one would know for decades, he was Jewish.

The Supreme Court of Canada has decided it will not hear a climate change lawsuit put
forward by a group of teenagers.
The decision means the challenge will instead be revived in an Ontario court.
Lawyers for the seven young people are arguing that the Ontario government's decision to
reduce its climate targets jeopardizes their right to life.
But now that argument will return to the provincial courts.
GoFundMe has shut down a page that was purportedly collecting donations in memory of a woman
killed in last weekend's car ramming attack in Vancouver.
The company says the fundraiser constituted, quote, misuse of the site.
Liam Britton has more.
Chilliwack retailer Raquel Narraway, a member of the Filipino community,
was looking at fundraisers for those killed Saturday.
But one caught her eye.
There's something, like, wrong about it?
The alleged victim and fundraiser beneficiaries didn't seem connected to the community.
The story doesn't add up.
Narraway reported the page and posted about the victim in a Filipino Facebook group with over 20,000 members.
Nobody recognized her.
GoFundMe has now shut it down, saying it's refunded all donations totaling over 50 grand,
and the organizer is banned from the site, adding it has, quote, zero tolerance for the
misuse of our platform and takes swift action against those who seek to take advantage of
the generosity of our community.
Tanya Vizintin with Vancouver Police urges donors to be vigilant.
We are just asking people to be aware, be mindful that fraud could happen.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has spoken on the telephone with Ukrainian President Vladimir
Zelensky. And among the issues discussed was Zelensky's request for further sanctions on
Russian banking and energy sectors. But it is Ukraine's relationship with the United
States that's making news today.
Both the United States and the government of Ukraine look forward to quickly operationalizing
this historic economic partnership.
And as U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bisson speaking last night after Washington and Keefe
signed a rare minerals deal.
U.S. President Donald Trump has said the agreement has the potential to offer the United States
more than what it has spent to date supporting the Ukrainian war effort.
To mark the first 100 days of Donald Trump's second term as U.S. President, Kamala Harris
delivered a stinging attack last night in
a speech in San Francisco. It was her first public address since her November election
loss. Steve Futterman reports.
Kamala Harris accused the Trump administration of trying to scare the American people.
We all know President Trump and his administration are counting on the notion that fear can be
contagious. She called it part of a well-conceived agenda.
To shrink government and then privatize its services, all while giving tax breaks to the
wealthiest among us.
In one of her sharpest attacks, Harris said Trump is abandoning American ideal. It is not okay to detain and disappear American citizens
or anyone without due process.
She called the Trump tariffs the greatest man-made economic crisis
in modern American history and said it could lead to a recession.
The president's reckless tariffs hurt workers and families.
Harris said the country may very well be on the verge of entering a constitutional
crisis. Steve Futterman for CBC News, Los Angeles.
There's one last Canadian team in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs.
They're going crazy in downtown Washington.
That's the final call in Washington last night as the Capitals were finishing off
the Canadians in round finishing off the Canadians
in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Washington eliminated Montreal in five games.
As for the other Canadian teams, Winnipeg beat St. Louis 5-3, so the Jets lead that
best of seven, three games to two.
Tonight, Toronto is in Ottawa with the Senators facing elimination.
And the Oilers are at home tonight needing just one win to finish off the LA
Kings.
And that is The World This Hour.
