When a body is discovered 10 miles out to sea, it sparks a mind-blowing police investigation.
There's a man living in this address in the name of a deceased.
He's one of the most wanted men in the world.
This isn't really happening.
Officers are finding large sums of money.
It's a tale of murder, skullduggery and international intrigue.
So who really is he?
I'm Sam Mullins and this is Sea of Lies from CBC's Uncovered, available now.
From CBC News, the world this hour, I'm Neil Herland.
The Catholic Church will begin voting to elect a new Pope starting today.
The Conclave of Cardinals takes place behind closed doors in the Sistine Chapel.
Father Patrick Mary Briscoe is host of the God's Plaining podcast.
He says the Conclave could go on for days.
The Cardinals that I've spoken to and certainly members of the Vatican press and many others could go on for days.
This morning the Cardinals gathered for a holy mass at the Vatican. The first ballot
will be held this evening. Starting tomorrow, four votes will happen each day until a new
pope is elected.
We're following a developing story in Alberta. A mandatory evacuation order is in effect
for parts of Athabasca County due to a wildfire,
prompting the community and the nearby village of Boyle to each declare a state
of local emergency.
Meantime, wildfire alerts are in place for Westlaw County and Parkland County.
Residents should be ready to leave if the order comes.
Canada remains in the top 10 global methane emitters, but a new report by the International Energy Agency has some good news for Canada,
and some hope that this potent greenhouse gas can be tamed in the years to come.
Anayat Singh has more.
Strong action on methane could deliver a reduction of 0.1 degrees Celsius in the rise in global temperatures by 2050."
Doesn't sound like much, but experts say that small shift would be significant.
Thomas Broderiole is an analyst with the International Energy Agency.
The group released a report on global methane emissions showing that methane emissions have
remained stubbornly high since 2019.
Canada remains one of the top 10 worst emitters in the world, along
with other major fossil fuel producers like the US, Russia and China.
Around 70% of methane emissions from the energy sector can be reduced with technologies that
have been deployed in.
Canada was singled out for embracing these technologies with its ambitious plan to cut
methane emissions 75% by 2030. The federal government's figures suggest Canada's methane emissions are coming down,
but other major countries are falling behind.

Last month, CBC News brought you the story of a family from El Salvador with two young
daughters who were jailed twice in a US port of entry after trying to enter Canada.
But a federal Court of Canada challenge
has now given them a chance to enter this country
to make an asylum claim.
Jorge Barrera has more.
This time, the Canadian will receive us.
Aracely Serrano says she feels hope.
This time, Canada will let her in
with her daughters Madeleine 14 and Itziana 4.
In March, Aracely and her husband fled to Canada to escape the immigration crackdown
in the US.
Canadian border officials rejected documents Aracely said proved she had two brothers living
in Canada, key to making an asylum claim.
Canada sent the family back twice to the US where they were held for two weeks
in a Niagara Falls, New York port of entry holding cell. No windows, no breath of fresh
air.
I think finally the government has recognized that they did the wrong thing.
Aracely's lawyer Heather Neufeld says Canada agreed to let the family in after she filed
the court challenge.
It's a lie, but yes, thank you. We're here says Aracely Jorge Barrera CBC News Niagara Falls Ontario.
Edmonton hockey fans are cheering. Game one is over Edmonton rallies from two
nothing down to defeat the Vegas Golden Knights by a count of four to two. In
