How did the internet go from this?
You could actually find what you were looking for right away,
bound to this.
I feel like I'm in hell.
Spoiler alert, it was not an accident.
I'm Cory Doctorow, host of Who Broke the Internet
from CBC's Understood.
In this four-part series, I'm going to tell you
why the internet sucks now, whose fault it is,
and my plan to fix it. Find Who Broke
the Internet on whatever terrible app you get your podcasts.
From CBC News, the world this hour, I'm Claude Paig. Russia launched a large-scale assault in
Ukraine overnight and into early this morning. The Ukrainian military says Russia launched
250 long-range drones with the capital city of Kiev as the main target. At least 14 people
were injured from the attacks. The latest Russian attacks come following a rare moment
of cooperation. Russia and Ukraine each swap 390 prisoners of war. Philipp Li Shannick
reports.
It's the first stage.
We didn't yet achieve the ceasefire.
Ukraine wants the ceasefire.
Ukraine's defense minister, Rustam Umarov,
says he hopes this prisoner swap, expected
to be 1,000 people from each side,
will lead to the next steps in the peace process.
Firstly, it's exchanges.
Second, it's a ceasefire.
And third step is a leaders meeting.
Umarov says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was willing to meet in Istanbul as
suggested by Russian President Vladimir Putin for face-to-face talks.
But Putin didn't show up, instead sending lower level diplomats.
Zelensky says he's happy the prisoner exchange is underway, which he calls the only significant
result of the meeting in Turkey.
And he says Russia's proposal for draft conditions for negotiating a ceasefire is a mockery.

At least five people are now confirmed dead in record flooding in eastern Australia, and another is still missing.
The latest victim is a man whose burnt body was found in a car in New South Wales.
Dozens of emergency flood warnings have been in place.
Some areas have had four months' worth of rain in just three days.
Phil Mercer reports from Sydney.
It's nerve-racking, can't sleep,
because you're tossing and turning,
where's the water up to?
There was no way out for Jessica Collins
when the floods bore down on the town of Gloucester,
260 kilometres north of Sydney.
Guys, we're still stuck here at Glenbourne, still coming up.
Tens of thousands of people remain isolated
by record-breaking floods
in the Australian state of New South Wales.
Many are without power.
Towns and homes have been inundated.
We realised that the bottom half of our house was going to go under.
I've been in a lot of floods in the last 40 years, but this one is something that I would
rather forget about.
Helicopters have rescued residents who sought refuge on their roofs.
There are warnings that snakes and rats could be lurking in the dirty brown flood waters,
which should start to recede in the coming days.
The government says that climate change is having a significant impact on weather events
and that Australia is not immune.

There's a wrinkle in the recent deal that saw Canadian Tire agree to purchase the naming
rights and some brands of the Hudson's Bay Company.
HBC says it plans to sell up to 28 of its store leases to a BC mall owner who wants
to launch a new modern department and will seek court permission for the sale of the
leases involving stores in Alberta, BC and Ontario.
Canadian Tire agreed to a 30 million dollar deal to purchase HBC earlier this month.
In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Edmonton Oilers have evened the Western Conference Final.
Back to McDavid, drag settle in his spot.
Martin in the slot, he's short, he's had scores!
Tipped by Ryan Newton Hopkins! As seen on Hockey Night in Canada, Burnaby, BC native Ryan Nugent Hopkins scored a goal,
also added an assist as the Oilers beat the Stars 3-0 in Dallas last night, tying their
series at a game of peace.
The series now shifts to Edmonton for game three on Sunday.
And singer Billy Joel has canceled all of his scheduled concerts after being diagnosed with a brain disorder. The 76
year old singer is undergoing physical therapy and has been
advised to stop performing while he recovers amongst the canceled
shows this year and next a 2026 date in Toronto.
And that is your World This Hour.
For CBC News, I'm Claude Fague.
