Okay, so I'm Tom Power. I host the award-winning interview show Cue, and it's not just about art.
It's also a podcast that delves into conversations with artists as to why we create at all.
Like you'll hear boy genius member Lucy Dacus open up about why she's dead dissatisfied with the way we talk about love.
You'll hear Cate Blanchett describe what it's like to forget the sound of your own voice.
And you'll hear how Coleman Domingo actually honed his acting skills in the circus.
Listen to Q with me, Tom Power, wherever you get your podcasts.
From CBC News, it's the world this hour.
I'm Joe Cummings.
MPs are back in the House of Commons today for a new session of Parliament.
The first order of business is the election of a speaker.
This car has a few debts, but it also has character.
The engine is strong and I know the road.
Allons-y, let's go together.
Addressing the House this morning, that is Greg Fergus, the previous Speaker of the House.
He is running again and is up against five other candidates.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May was considering a bid, but she backed out of the running yesterday
and is endorsing Fergus.
Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla touched down in Ottawa later today.
They are spending two days in the capital for their first visit to Canada since the
King's coronation two years ago. After flying into the city, they'll be taken to Lansdowne Park and then to Rideau
Hall to be met by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Governor General Mary Simon. Tomorrow,
King Charles delivers the speech from the throne. After bombarding Ukraine with hundreds
of drones and missiles over the weekend, Russian President Vladimir Putin is facing harsh criticism
from an unlikely source.
I'm not happy with what Putin's doing.
He's killing a lot of people,
and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin.
I've known him a long time, always gotten along with him,
but he's sending rockets into cities and killing people,
and I don't like it at all.
That's Trump speaking to reporters yesterday
on Air Force One.
He later posted a social media post that Putin had gone quote, absolutely crazy.
This comes after three straight nights of Russian aerial attacks.
Saturday's bombardment was the biggest of the war, claiming at least 12 lives.
More than 50 people were killed overnight in Gaza in the latest round of Israeli airstrikes.
And while this latest Israeli military campaign continues, questions are being raised about
how emergency aid will be delivered throughout the territory. This has the head of a new
aid group has stepped down, just as it was set to begin operations. Tom Perry has the
latest now from Jerusalem.
Palestinian civil defense officials say rescuers pulled more than 30 bodies from the site
of one Israeli attack.
The Israeli military says it was targeting a Hamas and Islamic Jihad command center.
As the bombardment continues, there are new questions about how and when humanitarian
assistance will reach civilians in Gaza.
The head of a newly formed group.
Jake Wood has resigned as director of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, citing concerns
about the group's impartiality. Jan Eglund is secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee
Council. He says Wood's group, backed by the U.S. and Israeli governments, would militarize
and politicize humanitarian assistance. And we cannot have aid in a war zone that is not in conformity with neutrality and partiality.
Israel says the new group will prevent aid being stolen by Hamas.

A community vigil was held last night in Walkerton, Ontario for four students and their high school teacher who were killed on Friday in a traffic accident as they were returning home from
a softball tournament.
Philip Lee Shanick reports.
15-year-old Keegan Padfield says even though they were older, the girls made time for him.
They're all really kind and when I first started out in grade 9 they were all really supportive.
On their way home from a softball tournament in Dorchester, Ontario, their SUV collided with a transport truck.
Ontario Provincial Police say the students and their 33-year-old coach, Matt Eckert, were killed.
Mayor Chris Peabody, a high school teacher for 31 years before running for office,
says he feels for the students and staff at the
walkerton community district school. If you can imagine losing a teacher and end of the year they
won't be focused on and then of course the graduation which will be absolutely heart-wrenching.
So the Blue Water District School Board said counselors will be at the school this week to
assist students and staff. Middlesex OPP say they are still investigating and want anyone with
information to come forward.
