A longtime fugitive is scheduled to appear in an Ontario court this morning.
Patrick Lutz, Jr. evaded U.S. authorities for more
than two decades.
A CBC News investigation recently revealed Lutz spent years living out in the open in
Toronto.
As Thomas Dagla reports, he now faces extradition on charges of manslaughter.
Out of the blue last spring, Jorge Leon says he received an anonymous message that would
give hope to his family
in Florida for the first time in years.
We're finally getting some type of justice.
A tipster claimed they'd tracked down the alleged drunk driver accused of killing Leon's
teenage cousin Nancy Lopez and her boyfriend in 1998.
Far from the crash site in Orlando, fugitive Patrick Lutz Jr. had been living a double life in Ontario.
The tipster said they'd used facial recognition
and social media clues to track Lutz to Toronto,
handing the details to authorities
and leading to Lutz's arrest earlier this year.
Alberto Lopez was the victim's older brother.
I was so happy because I was waiting long time.
Lutz skipped a court hearing more than 21 years ago and vanished.
Nancy Lopez's loved ones say they look forward to seeing Lutz extradited to Florida so they can face him in court.

President Trump's administration has ordered its embassies abroad to pause new applications for student and exchange visitors visas as it prepares to expand social media vetting of foreign students. Some students
already in the United States have had their visas revoked for participating in pro-Palestinian
protests. U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce says every country should vet
visa applications from foreigners.
Whoever you are, we're going to be looking at you.
It seems to be such a controversial thing that's going on,
but it shouldn't be.
And every nation should take seriously and does,
who's coming in.
So if you're going to be applying for a visa,
follow the normal process, expect to be looked at,
and we go on from there.
This is part of Trump's campaign
against some of the best known universities who rely heavily
on foreign students for their funding.
Israel has struck back at Yemen's Houthi rebels with retaliatory strikes.
The Israeli military says it struck Sana'a Airport for the second time in a month.
The last came on May the 6th, forcing the closure of the airport for nearly two weeks. This strike, coming after the Houthis, fired several missiles at Israel in recent days.
There was no confirmation of casualties or damage from the Israeli airstrikes.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Berlin later today, for the first time
since Friedrich Merz became Germany's Chancellor, talks will focus on
starting further peace talks with Russia and new sanctions against Moscow.
Meanwhile, Russia says it's destroyed over 100 drones in the past few hours.
Some were headed towards Moscow.
SpaceX has launched its ninth Starship rocket from its base in Texas, with the spacecraft
achieving more success than in previous tests.
Despite this being their greatest progress to date, the spacecraft sprang leaks and began
spinning out of control before breaking up in orbit.
Eric Berger is a space journalist who was watching the launch.
The first stage of the rocket, and that's the biggest part, the booster which has three
dozen engines on it, that flew normally.
And this was the second flight they've made with that rocket.
So they've already demonstrated the ability to reuse
the first stage of the rocket.
So really the part they're struggling with
is the upper stage, which for all of the rockets
never comes back.
And so they're really kind of encountering new territory here
and working hard to solve some of these problems.
To Edmonton and the Stanley Cup playoff.
So, two short, two shots. Across for McDavid. hard to solve some of these problems. To Edmonton in the Stanley Cup playoff.
As seen on hockey night in Canada, veteran Corey Perry tipped in the Oilers second goal
that proved to be the game winner. He also added an assist as the Oilers beat the Dallas Stars 4-1
last night in Edmonton to grab a 3-1 Western Conference Finals lead.
The series now shifts to Dallas for Game 5 Thursday night.
And that is Your World This Hour.
