The Washington-based group, Human Rights Activists, says at least 406 people have been killed in Iran since the conflict began Friday morning, and several Iranian missiles have hit targets in Israel today. Trent Murray has more on the latest strike. Well, the cell phone alerts and city sirens sounded just before 9 p.m. local time, sending people into their shelters. It was a very wide area of warning with Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa all included in the potential impact zone. Now here in Tel Aviv, we certainly heard a number of interceptions from inside of our building's safe room, but there are no immediate
Starting point is 00:01:17 signs of a direct impact in our part of the city. Authorities though are saying there have been several injuries, including in Haifa, Israel's second largest city located in the far north. Local media is showing fire crews working to extinguish flames in a residential street. The IDF is also saying that Homefront Command has sent search and rescue forces to several reported impact sites including in the far south. Trent Murray for CBC News, Tel Aviv. Buzz Hargrove, a commanding voice in Canadian Labor and Politics, has died. sites including in the far south. Trent Murray for CBC News, Tel Aviv. Buzz Hargrove, a commanding voice in Canadian labour and politics, has died.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Our union is going to fight like hell to defend the manufacturing jobs that are so critical. For decades he was a force to be reckoned with in Canada as he fought for union members and social causes. Hargrove went on to become the president of the Canadian auto workers from 1992 to 2008. He was 88 years old. In Minnesota now, the manhunt for a suspect in four politically motivated shootings continues. Police are searching a rural area in Sibley County. Drew Evans is with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. We did locate a vehicle that we had interest in related to him yesterday that we were searching for and it was located in Sibley County. Also a hat that we believe he was wearing was found in proximity to that vehicle, which is what has led us to believing he was in that area.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Evans says this is not the only avenue of investigation being followed and that both state and federal warrants for his arrests have been issued. Police accused Vance Luther Bolter of disguising himself as a police officer and shooting two state legislators and their spouses in their homes yesterday. Former House Speaker Melissa Hordman and her husband were killed. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were wounded and are in hospital. World leaders are heading to Kananaskis, Alberta today for the G7 Summit, where global trade and international peace and security are expected to top the agenda at a time when both are in turmoil. Karina Roman has more. The stakes are high for Canada. Prime Minister Mark Carney playing host amidst a global trade war instigated by US President Donald Trump, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, the conflict in Gaza
Starting point is 00:03:29 and now Iran and Israel exchanging missiles. Carney has already tried to temper expectations. There will be no overall joint communique and hopes have dimmed for a trade and security deal between Canada and the US coming out of this summit. Canada-US trade minister Dominic LeBlanc says it's unpredictable. All of a sudden this can start moving in a way that perhaps we didn't see so if on Sunday it looks like there's no agreement Monday night can suddenly be an agreement and if we think we made progress two weeks ago well two weeks later we haven't got the agreement we want. Carney is expected to have a bilateral meeting with Trump early Monday morning
Starting point is 00:04:09 before the main G7 leader talks. Carina Roman, CBC News, Banff, Alberta. The Oilers find themselves down three games to two in the Stanley Cup final. The Florida Panthers dominated game five with a final score of 5-2. Head coach Chris Knobloch says the next one should be different. Knowing that we're in a difficult situation, win our last two games, is something that we're confident that we can do that. We've been through difficult situations before and there's just another one that we'll overcome.
Starting point is 00:04:43 That was Oilers head coach Chris Knoblok. The series returns to Florida for game six on Tuesday. For CBC News, I'm Gina Louise Phillips. Thanks for listening.
