From CBC News, The World This Hour, I'm Gavin Day. Iran says its latest wave of attacks on
Israel will continue until dawn. The two nations are exchanging rocket fire for another night.
Officials in Tehran say more than 200 Iranians have been killed since fighting began, most
of them civilians.
In the meantime, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his country controls the skies
over Tehran.
He says Israel aims to wipe out Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
The fresh Israeli airstrikes targeted state TV headquarters in Tehran, and the Israeli
military is warning hundreds of thousands of Tehran residents to move out of harm's
way.
U.S. President Donald Trump will be leaving the G7 summit early.
Trump's saying he's returning to Washington because of what's going on in
the Middle East. The CBC's Murray Brewster is covering the G7 in Alberta.
Well, in a social media post, Carolyn Levitt, Trump's press secretary, said that he's needed
back in Washington to address what's going on in the Middle East. Obviously, a reference
to what's going on between Iran and Israel. Now, what's interesting is just an hour before
his departure
was announced, Trump was out with the UK Prime Minister
celebrating their trade deal, and he was asked
about G7 leaders' plans to call for de-escalation.
Have you spoken to Prime Minister Netanyahu?
When might you speak to him?
I've spoken to everybody.
What will you say?
Israel is doing very well, as you probably noticed.
Now, French President Emmanuel Macron filled in some of the blanks for us a little bit later on,
and he is saying that the U.S. has made an offer for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. That
offer is to meet, and it is intended to get a ceasefire in place so that there can be a broader
discussion about Iran's nuclear program. The CBC's Murray Brewster reporting. meet and it is intended to get a ceasefire in place so that there can be a broader discussion
about Iran's nuclear program.

Trump's early departure from Alberta means Canadians likely won't get many hopes answered
when it comes to tariffs.
On Monday, the U.S. president met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, but few details
of that meeting have been made public.
Katie Simpson explains.
Mr. President
Welcome to Canada there was tension from the get-go for the public part of the meeting between prime minister mark carney and the ever
unpredictable US president donald trump
Reporters were invited into a small meeting room on the sidelines of the summit after the leaders met privately for about 30 minutes
I'm a tariff person despite Trump's commitment to to tariffs, the Prime Minister's office says both leaders
agreed to pursue negotiations toward a deal within the coming 30 days, a statement that
matches Trump's optimism.
Do you think a deal is achievable within days, within weeks?
Is there that kind of runway?
Yeah.
Carney and the Canadians clearly wanted to keep the public portion of this meeting brief.
Just I'm going to exercise my role if you will as a G7 territory.
Both countries have agreed to expedite trade and security talks
with more conversations to be planned this week. Katie Simpson, CBC News, Cananascus, Alberta.
Ottawa is promoting domestic tourism by making Canada's historic sites, national parks and
marine conservation areas free to visit.
The federal government calls it the Canada Strong Pass, and it's meant to promote Canadian
tourism in the midst of the ongoing Canada-U.S. trade war.
Stephen Guilbeau is the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture.
Over the past few months, we've seen Canadians
across this great country come together
in an incredible show of unity and pride
to celebrate and stand up for what it means to be Canadian.
And this pass is about discovering and reconnecting
with nature, history, and culture
of this remarkable country we all share.
The program is also offering free via rail tickets for children 17 and under,
and 25% off via fares for those 18 to 24.
Quebec provincial police are asking for the public's help as they continue
their search for a missing three-year-old girl.
They're focusing their search for Claire Bell in the town of Coteau-du-Lac.

Montreal.
That is The World This Hour.
For CBC News, I'm Gavin Day.
