So you're saying this airline forces the cabin crew to work for free.
Tell me you're at least paid for boarding and de-plaining.
No.
Safety checks.
No.
Not even medical emergencies.
No, but we'll always show up.
But they're charging flyers more than ever.
And we're putting in thousands of unpaid hours.
Where is that money going?
Canada's airline, hey?
Unpaid work is a true crime.

focus on our country but i'm doing this to save a lot of lives yeah very severe he says it's all in an
effort to end the war in Ukraine. As Lisa Jing reports, both leaders have given indications on what to
expect. But I am president and he's not going to mess around with me. A confident Donald Trump,
ahead of a high-stakes summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin. Trump has tempered expectations
saying the initial meeting could pave the way for a second one that might include
Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky. I'd like to see it actually happen maybe in Alaska where we just
stay because it's so much easier.
While neither Moscow nor Kiev are willing to compromise on key demands, Putin praising Trump
ahead of his trip to Alaska.
The current American administration is making energetic and sincere efforts to stop the hostilities,
he said.
According to European leaders, Trump has promised to leave any negotiations about land to Zelensky,
and there could be a joint press conference after the meeting, depending on how it goes.
Lisa Sching, CBC News, Washington.
Many in Europe are watching these talks very closely,
and while the UK's Defense Secretary is calling them a critical first step,
there's little expectation they will end the war.
Crystal Gamansing has more from London.
We have to let the discussions take their place.
UK Defense Secretary John Healy says it is progress
that U.S. President Donald Trump got the Russian president to the table.
He stresses these are talks, not negotiations.
Our job as the UK, as Ukraine's most consistent ally,
it's to lead the charge on intensifying diplomacy.
In addition to diplomatic support, Ukraine this week also secured more weapons from Europe.
Germany announced Wednesday it is funding a $500 million military package of weapons and munitions purchased from the U.S.
Few believe today's meeting will result in anything concrete.
Worse cases there will be promised.
is made for Ukraine to give up territory. Best case, a second meeting. One that would include
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Crystal Gamansing, CBC News, London.
Cruise in Nova Scotia's Annapolis County are battling two fires today. The larger of the two is
burning out of control. Firefighters are trying to build breaks and limit the flame spread. Brett Ruskin
has more. An evacuation order issued yesterday morning was expanded late last night. That means more.
residents have been forced to pack up their things and leave home immediately due to the threat
posed by an approaching wildfire. This one is being called the Long Lake Fire, and it grew from
0.1 hectares to more than 300 hectares in just a day. Initially, it was 42 homes evacuated,
but many more families have now been told to leave immediately. We heard from a local fire
official, Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Justin Oliver, talking about the efforts
to fight this fire. We feel for those people, but our job
here is to protect lives and property, and that's what we intend to do.
Officials said while water bombers from other regions were available to help fight the fire
near Halifax this week, the other Atlantic provinces are now dealing with their own
out-of-control fires, and none are available to be shared. Still, there are crews on the ground
and helicopters in the air working to get control of this latest fire. Brett Ruskin, CBC News, near Bridgetown,
Nova Scotia. In India-controlled Kashmir, at least 200 people are dead after flash flooding.
Crews are digging through the mud and wreckage.
1,600 survivors have been rescued.
Northern India and Pakistan have been increasingly hit by cloudburst,
heavy rainfall in small areas.
Their intensities blamed on climate change.
And that is your world this hour.
For CBC News, I'm Claude Fagg.
Thank you.
