In nine days, Canada will be lifting counter-tariffs on many U.S. goods.
The measure is seen as a goodwill gesture to U.S. President Donald Trump
and a step in resolving the ongoing trade war between the two nations.
Fenhamson is an expert on the subject with Carlton University.
What's important to remember, though, is that while these tariffs are coming off on consumer goods,
The United States still has tariffs in place on some of Canada's most sensitive sectors, steel, aluminum, some autos, which are really the backbone of our industrial trade relationship.
Critics say the Prime Minister may have given away some leverage with the measure to lift the levees.
Canadian counter-tariffs will remain on U.S. steel and aluminum and autos.
UK's Reform Party leader says he will deport asylum seekers by the masses if he becomes British.

against the use of hotels to house asylum seekers, spurred in part by concerns about public safety
after some migrants were charged with sexual assault.
Refugees are welcome me.
Counter-protestors were out in force at the demonstrations.
At several locations, police had to intervene and separate the opposing crowds.
Broader opinion polls show immigration and asylum are now the British public's greatest concern ahead of the economy.
The number of people entering the country illegally via the English Channel has increased when compared to last year.
The former Brexit campaigner and leader of the Reform UK Party, Nigel Farage,

if his party forms Britain's next government.

There's a large wildfire threatening California's wine country, dubbed the picket fire.
It's creating anxiety for both residents and wine producers.
Steve Futterman explains.
Firefighters continue to battle the fast-moving blaze.
dealing with sometimes steep, difficult terrain in remote mountainous areas.
The area being hit hardest is Napa Valley, part of California's wine country.
More than 1,200 personnel are fighting the fire, both on the ground and from the air.
Eric Hernandez is with Cal Fire.
He says the aerosolt is taking place around the clock.
We have three night flying type 1 helicopters that are going to continue making water drops.
The fire broke out on Thursday.
Right now, crews are going after specific hotspots,
trying to prevent the fire from spreading. Long-time residents are used to fires like Matt Fasco.
I've been up here 30-something years, so I've seen quite a bit, but just get used to it now.
The big concern is that the fire may move towards cities in Napa County like Kalistoga.
And in wine country, there is also concern that smoke from the fire could ruin this year's crop.
Steve Fetterman for CBC News, Los Angeles.
Air Canada is now back in operation close to its full schedule.
