Starting point is 00:00:40 Australia is expelling the Iranian ambassador after Australian intelligence found evidence that Iran organized at least two attacks against the Jewish community in Australia. The targets were a kosher food company in Sydney and a synagogue in Melbourne. Here's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. A short time ago, we informed the Iranian. ambassador to Australia that he would be expelled. We have suspended operations at our embassy in Tehran and all our diplomats are now safe in a third country. The Iranian government has not responded yet to the claims made by Australia. Australia says the attacks were
Starting point is 00:01:18 organized by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps. Now to Israel. Hostage families are holding. a day of disruption blocking a major highway north of Tel Aviv, calling for an end to the war in Gaza and for all the hostages to be released. Rubikhen is the father of Etai, an Israeli soldier who was killed on October 7, 2023, and whose body is still being held in Gaza. There's a good deal on the table. It's something we could work with. It's something we could get a deal done to bring all the hostages back. Palestinian militants are holding 50 remaining hostages, 20 are thought to still be alive.
Starting point is 00:02:03 A fast-growing wildfire in Nova Scotia's Annapolis County has more than doubled in size in the last two days, forcing 1,000 people from their homes. Across Atlantic Canada, firefighters New Brunswick and Newfoundland continue to battle out-of-control fires. Nikola Segan has more. I'm living in my truck right now. Tim Donald was evacuated from his home Sunday night as the fast-moving Long Lake Wildfire pushed hundreds more people to flee.
Starting point is 00:02:32 As officials confirm, a number of homes have been destroyed, Donald's could be one of them. I'd hate to lose all our belongings. Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston says hot and dry conditions have fanned the flames. The wildfire more than doubling in size Monday to close to 78 square kilometers. It's an awful feeling and out-of-control fire. Across the region, some fires are still burning out of control, but things are looking up. New Brunswick is fighting 18 wildfires down from 39 in weeks past. In Newfoundland, the Kingston fire that destroyed more than 200 homes is still not under control, but it hasn't grown.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Nova Scotia is still battling the worst of it. And though some rain is falling, officials warn it won't bring much relief. Nicholas Sagan, CBC News, Halifax. Mr. President, do not come to Chicago. The governor of Illinois is warning U.S. President Donald Trump not to send troops to his state. Trump is now considering a plan to send the U.S. National Guard to Chicago and Baltimore after ordering troops to Washington, D.C. J.B. Pritzker is the governor of Illinois. What President Trump is doing is unprecedented and unwarranted. It is illegal.
Starting point is 00:03:53 It is unconstitutional. It is un-American. But Trump says his proposal is being unfairly criticized. I don't like a dictator. I'm not a dictator. I'm a man with great common sense and a smart person. And when I see what's happening to our cities, and then you send in troops, instead of being praised,
Starting point is 00:04:15 they're saying you're trying to take over the republic. And finally, American rapper Little Naz-X is pleading not guilty to four felonies. charges. The 26-year-old, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was found walking naked last week on a street in Los Angeles. He's charged with three counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting cops. Robert Stafford is his father. What President Trump is doing is unprecedented and...
