We're waiting for further details this hour on a school shooting in Minneapolis. The only information at this point comes from hospital officials who say at least five children have been injured. The Catholic Elementary School, which is affiliated with the city's Annunciation Church, enrolls children from preschool through to grade 8. Denmark's foreign minister is summoning the country's
Starting point is 00:01:00 top U.S. diplomat, amid allegations the Trump administration has been carrying out COVID operations in Greenland. The Danish public broadcaster is reporting that at least three U.S. nationals with ties to the Trump White House have been involved in influence operations aimed at promoting Greenland's succession from Denmark to the United States. U.S. President Trump has repeatedly threatened to take Greenland into U.S. jurisdiction, and he has suggested he may be willing to use military force. Now to the Trump administration's soaring tariffs on India. Mr. Trump, of course, wants a win, and everyone else seems to be giving him a win. That is New Delhi-based foreign policy analyst Harsh Punth. As of today, American tariffs on
Starting point is 00:01:45 Indian exports jump from 25 to 50%. The Trump administration says it's in response to India's continued purchase of Russian oil, which the U.S. says helps Moscow fight. the war in Ukraine. Prime Minister Mark Carney has closed out his four-day trip to Europe with a visit to the Canadian troops stationed in Latvia. If we're going to defend and advance our values of freedom of democracy and peace, Canada must do so from a position of strength. Canadian Armed Forces are in Latvia as part of Operation Reassurance. It's an ongoing mission to deter further Russian aggression in Europe. And Carney has announced it's being extended until at least 2029. This European tour has also seen Carney visit Ukraine, Poland,
Starting point is 00:02:34 and Germany. He is now on his way back to Ottawa. Conservative leader Pierre Polyev is calling on the federal government to drop its clean fuel standards. The policy established by the Trudeau Liberals is aimed at lowering Canada's carbon emissions, but Polyev says Canadians struggling with affordability can't afford it. Olivia Sivanovich has more. We are making it a priority to boost take home pay and reverse the liberal cost of living crisis by opposing Mark Carney's carbon tax 2.0. Even though the liberals scrap the consumer carbon pricing system, conservative leader Pierre Polyev still wants to campaign against it. We need to get rid of the carbon taxes altogether. Make our lives affordable again. Polyev is now attacking the federal
Starting point is 00:03:21 clean fuel regulations, calling them the second carbon tax. The standards were introduced a years ago to reduce carbon emissions. But the Parliamentary Budget Officer estimates that by 2030, the price of gas will increase by 17 cents per leader in Newfoundland and Labrador alone. Pollyev says Canadians can't afford that. And the conservative leader is trying to convince the federal government to dismantle the regulations altogether. Olivia Estefanovich, CBC News, Ottawa. With the help of the Fox family, Sean Menard says he's gone through hours of restored and mostly unseen footage for his film Run Terry Run.
Starting point is 00:04:09 They said that they had some reels that people hadn't seen before, but they thought there was maybe nine of them, and they had digitized five. So it became the search for the missing four reels. I thought to myself, okay, I could probably make a pretty interesting film here with nine reels and ended up being over 96 reels. That's Bernard in conversation with the Canadian press. He says the film sheds new light on Fox's Marathon of Hope.
