President Xi Jinping is hosting leaders from 26 countries, including Russia's Vladimir Putin,
and North Korea's Kim Jong-un.
In a speech, she had a message that appeared to be directed at the West.
The Chinese nation is the great nation that is never intimidated by any bullies
and always values independence and forges ahead.
And U.S. President Donald Trump is reacting tonight on his truth social platform.
He says,
give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un as you conspire against the United States of America.
Prime Minister Mark Carney sits down with his cabinet Wednesday at a retreat in Toronto.
Carney and his team are meeting to plot strategy and set priorities for what's expected to be a busy fall,
including the return of Parliament with the newly re-elected opposition leader Pierre Palliev.
Tom Perry reports.
At a nondescript hotel on the northern edge of Toronto, where multi-lane thoroughfares funneled traffic onto the 401, Canada's busiest highway, Mark Carney, sits down with his cabinet to map out the road ahead.
I can tell you that the Prime Minister is focused on the speed of delivery.
Families Minister Patty Heidu expects the two-day session to focus on the government's top priorities, how to offset the impact of U.S. tariffs.
Pollster David Colletto, with Abacus Data, says Canadians want results,
especially when it comes to Canada-U-S relations.
Well, I think the focus really is on why they were elected,
and that was to deal with Donald Trump.
So that remains, I think, a priority.
It should be a priority for the government.
This meeting comes as the liberal government continues work on a budget
expected to include some significant belt tightening.
And as Carney prepares to once again go toe to toe with conservative leader Pierre Paulyev.

Toronto. Emotions are running high near Windsor, Ontario with the decision by a liquor giant
to close its Crown Royal bottling facility is sparking outrage. As Kathleen Sailor reports,
Ontario Premier Doug Ford even brought a bottle of the Canadian whiskey from home and showed
what he thought of the decision as he dumped it out onto the sidewalk. I can guarantee you there
was a lot of tears coming out of that plant. News of job losses in southwestern Ontario rippled
across the country Thursday afternoon. Diageo, owner of iconic Canadian brand Crown Royal,
announcing it'll close its Amersburg, Ontario bottling plant in February. At least 160 unionized workers
stand to lose their jobs. John Degnolo is president with Unifor Local 200. Shock and
devastation. This is something that you never want to hear. The members there are going,
what are we going to do? Local 200 also represents Ford engine plants in the Windsor area. Workers there
are also on edge amid a trade war with the United States.
Degnolo says leaders at all levels need to work together to keep the Ontario plant where it is.
We have to make sure we fight like hell to make sure that we can keep that plant in that site.
The company says it will support workers throughout the closure process.
The union says it's determined to fight it.

Yes, 12. Yes.
The jury members each confirming their decision, a security guard named Amani Elie
alleged that Cardi cut her face with a fingernail and spat on her in the hallway of a medical office.
Cardi B. spoke outside the court.
I did not touch that woman. I did not touch that girl. I didn't lay my hands on that girl.
And with that being said, this time around I'm going to be nice.
The next person that tried to do a frivolous lawsuit against me, I'm going to.
to countersome, and I'm going to make you pay. The jury decision was unanimous, and that's the CBC News.
