The team that was on the boat, they spotted a drone approaching. This drone flew above the boat, went to the front of the boat, to the bow of the boat, and dropped an explosive device that put the boat on fire.
Starting point is 00:02:22 It's a member of the flotilla, Tiago Avia. The vessel was docked in Tunisia and no one aboard was injured. However, Tunisian authorities are denying that a drone was involved. They say at this point it's possible a fire broke out in the boat's engine room. In the wake of this week's violent protests against a ban on social media platforms and government corruption, the Prime Minister of Nepal has resigned. K.P. Oli says his resignation goes into effect immediately. Oli's resignation comes after protests.
Starting point is 00:02:58 set fire today to the homes of several senior political officials. Yesterday, 19 people were killed when riot police opened fire on protesters outside the country's parliament. Within Newfoundland and Labrador's energy sector, there is cautious optimism on at least two fronts, as Prime Minister Mark Carney continues to work on a list of major development projects. Heather Gillis explains. Two major potential energy developments, Ecuador's Beta North offshore oil project, and the Gull Island Hydro Dam and Labrador have caught the federal government's attention, landing themselves on a list of nation-building projects.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yesterday, Prime Minister Mark Carney was in St. John's to talk about them with the province's energy leaders and Premier John Hogan. And he's anxious to get these projects moving as fast as we can. Both projects still haven't gotten the green light yet. Norway's Ecuador should make a final investment decision soon, while Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec are still hammering out a deal on Gull Island. Which Kearney threw his support behind. Shouldn't underestimate just how many jobs will be created.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also announced $80 million in aid for small and medium businesses in Atlantic Canada to help them pivot and weather tariffs from the U.S. and China. Heather U.S., CBC News, St. Johns. The latest ranking of the top performing companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange shows investors are looking for a safe haven these days amid the country's ongoing economic uncertainty. The yearly TSX Top 30 is dominated by industrials and artificial intelligence, but it's mining that's drawing the most attention.
