billions have watched it online but the suspect in the fatal shooting of american activist charlie kirk
is still at large police continue to scour the area around the utah university where kirk was
speaking and they believe the shooter was perched on a rooftop more than a hundred meters away
Aaron Collins has the latest.
We have recovered what we believe is the weapon.
The FBI may have the gun used to kill Charlie Kirk, but not the shooter.
Still, Special Agent Robert Bowles says investigators do have a person of interest,
releasing a photograph of a young man dressed in black, wearing sunglasses and a hat.
We're doing everything we can to find him, and we're not sure how far he is gone yet.
But we will do our best.
Wednesday's shooting came as Charlie Kirk spoke to students.
at Utah Valley University.
Kirk sitting under a tent taking questions from the crowd
when a single shot rang out.
The FBI says it has tracked their suspects' movements before
and after that event, believing he may have jumped off of a roof
fleeing into a nearby neighborhood.

The NHL has announced that five former world junior hockey players
acquitted on sexual assault charges can return to play in December.
The men will be eligible to sign with the team as soon as October 15th.
Karen Pauls has the latest.
It was a case that gripped Canadians, the legal community, and hockey fans around the world.
Michael McLeod, Alex Formanton, Carter Hart, Dylan Dubay, and Cal Foote
were charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a London,
Ontario hotel room in June of 2018. They all pleaded not guilty and were acquitted by a judge in
July. Thursday, the NHL cleared the way for them to return to the ice. McLeod, Hart, Dubay,
and Foote can sign contracts with any team. Formanton would have to sign with the Ottawa
Senators by December 1st to be eligible for games this season, although he signed with a Swiss
team last week. The NHL says the events of that night were deeply troubled.

Calgary police have charged a man for tunneling into the apartment residence he lives under.
They allege that he broke through his own ceiling to gain access to the home of his upstairs neighbor.
Anne-Marie Tricky has the details.
On September 5th, police in Calgary responded to reports of a break and enter.
The victim in question had been away from her residence.
She returned to discover a large hole in her floor, despite the door being locked.
She says she was experiencing ongoing issues with a downstairs neighbor, which had intensified in recent weeks.
Investigators believe that neighbor had broken into his ceiling and created a large hole between his suite and his upstairs neighbor's residence.
Police have taken a 46-year-old man into custody.
He has been charged with one count of break-and-enter with intent to commit criminal harassment,
one count of mischief to property over $5,000, and two counts.
of disobeying a court order.
Inspector Keith Hurley of the Calgary Police
has called the incident a deeply disturbing violation of personal space.
The man is set to appear in court Friday.
