Hey, I'm Gavin Crawford from the podcast, Because News, a podcast for people who love to know what's going on, but realize sometimes getting your news from comedians is just a little softer than the real thing.
On this week's episode, Eric Peterson, Andrew Fung, and Carly Thorne are on the panel, each vying for a spot in the end of the world, Diefen bunker.
What's that?
Well, it's a rebranded luxury, Cold War fallout shelter in Nova Scotia.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of London today
for the Unite the Kingdom Rally,
an anti-immigration march
organized by a far-right activist.
Dominic Bolitis has the story.
He's right!

A hundred and ten thousand people attended today's Unite the Kingdom Rally in central London.
Demonstrators carried banners reading, take back our country and protect our borders,
while chanting slogans about migration and national identity.
Clashes broke out between police and protesters during the event.
The authorities say some officers were attacked with projectiles thrown from the crowds.
At times, the police had to intervene to keep demonstrators away from a smaller anti-racism counter-protest.
The event, which was organised by the far-right activist Tommy Robinson, was billed as a celebration of free speech
and a chance to mourn Charlie Kirk.

And in Gaza City.
Thousands of displaced Palestinians are heading south as Israel's ramped-up attack on Gaza City continues.
The IDF ordered all civilians to leave, recommending people head to a designated humanitarian zone in Mawesi,
a sprawling tent camp in the Strip's southern shore.
But conditions there are so overcrowded, some people are now returning to Gaza City despite the ongoing bombardment.

35 militants have been killed in recent days as Pakistani security forces raided two
Pakistani Taliban hideouts near the Afghan border. Pakistan accuses the militants of staging
attacks from Afghan territory. Twelve soldiers were also killed. The Pakistani Taliban is
independent from the Afghan Taliban, but the two are closely allied. In Phoenix, Arizona, the widow of
Charlie Kirk is speaking publicly for the first time since his fatal shooting.
The evildoers responsible for my husband's assassination have no idea what they have done.
Erica Kirk praised first responders, the U.S. President, and Vice President, and her husband.
The conservative activist was considered one of the most influential right-wing voices appealing to young Americans.
He was an ardent supporter of Donald Trump and his mega agenda, and his wife is vowing to continue his work.
You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife.
The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.
To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die.
Kirk says her husband's organization will continue the tours of university campuses through the fall and into the years to come.
And in the wake of Kirk's death, some Canadian politicians are calling for more security as they face rising levels of hostility here.
Here, Catherine Cullen has more.
I know that all the political leaders would share my view
that this is unfortunately a risk that's out there
and we should do everything we can to mitigate it.
Conservative leader Pierre Pollyev says he's worried,
not just about the broader environment,
but specifically for his family.
We have had very serious threats to the point
where the RCMP decided that it merited protection.
Polyev says he supports protection for all political leaders who need it
so Canada doesn't face a situation.
situation similar to Kirk's killing.
Later, I found out I received the third most death threats.
Former Liberal Cabinet Minister Catherine McKenna has just written a book about her time in politics.
She describes instances of harassment and abuse.
McKenna says she believes security services have improved and she appreciates they have limited resources.
She argues more regulation of social media would help.
Well, Polyev says the lesson from Kirk's death is to defend free speech as long as it doesn't cross the line into harassment.
