Following the Trump administration threat that took late-night host Jimmy Kimmel off the air,
Donald Trump now says TV networks that are against him could face retribution.
Paul Hunter has the latest reaction from Washington.
In case you missed it, here's Kimmel in his opening monologue Monday.
We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered
Charlie Kirk is anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political
points from it. That framing of the fallout from the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk
led to a group that owns some 200 U.S. TV stations saying they'd stop airing Kimmel. In his show
tonight, Colbert speaks about Kimmel. Here's a clip as he first references the FCC's Brendan Carr.
This may seem bad, but Carr was quick to reassure everyone posting, while this may be an unprecedented
decision, it is important for broadcasters to push back on Disney programming that they
determine falls short of community values.
Well, you know what my community values are, Buster, freedom of speech.
Stephen Colbert tonight on the Jimmy Kimmel situation, Colbert also calling the whole thing
blatant censorship.
Paul Hunter, CBC News, Washington.
We are both undertaking massive transformations of our economy.
Land, Mexico, Canada's strong.
Our efforts will be strengthened by working together.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is in Mexico for a short visit.
The two countries are working toward a strategic partnership

Alberta has charged five people after an extent.
extensive investigation to poaching and illegal trafficking. Among them is an American fugitive.
They face multiple charges related to killing eagles on First Nations land in the province.
Anne-Marie Tricky reports.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Services has charged five individuals with a combined 34 charges under the Alberta Wildlife Act
and nine charges under the Criminal Code, including hunting wildlife for which there is no open season
and unlawful possession and trafficking of wildlife. The investigations resulted in some of
accused selling bald eagle feather headdress and black bear claw
necklaces to undercover officers. Search warrants also uncovered multiple
freshly removed eagle feet with talons and feathers. The Alberta government
classifies bald eagles as a sensitive species and according to Colin Weir of
the Alberta Birds of Prey Nature Center, they must be protected. Fish and wildlife are
to be commended for keeping an eye on poaching incidents like what just happened.
In a statement, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services, Mike Ellis, said that
Poaching is a crime that robs Alberta of its wildlife.

Later this morning, Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump, will have a call.

The White House TikTok account, launching last month during negotiations with Beijing over
how to keep the streaming platform running in the U.S.
And we're speaking to President Xi on Friday.
Donald Trump is hoping a deal can be finalized
with Chinese President Xi Jinping on a phone call
after officials announced a framework agreement earlier this week.
The kind of money we're talking about is very substantial.
Last year, Congress passed a law requiring the U.S. operations
be sold by Chinese parent company Bight Dance
to an American buyer or be banned over security concerns.
The big question.
happens to the app's most powerful tool, says Jia Wang, senior fellow of the China Institute
at the University of Alberta. The algorithm is really key to TikTok's success and then to make
TikTok so addictive. TikTok's ownership, a major sticking point in the two countries' trade talks.
Lisa Sheng, CBC News, Toronto. And that is your world this hour. For CBC News, I'm Neil Kumar.
