Starting point is 00:00:50 suburb of phoenix which is home to kirk's organization turning point u.sa katie simpson tells us more Police say it could be upwards of 100,000 people who are in Phoenix for this event. There is obviously a heightened sense of security with the high-level dignitaries that will be at this event. The president, the vice president, other senior administration officials within the Trump administration. There are road closures. Police are visible and also not visible. U.S. Secret Service said they've made an arrest already. They saw someone looking suspicious near the stadium. When they approached the man, he said he was law enforcement.
Starting point is 00:01:25 he said he was armed, but after an investigation, they determined he wasn't actually law enforcement, so they're still trying to figure out what was going on in that situation. But again, the police presence, the heightened security, federal, state, and local officials all working together ahead of the big event. Katie Simpson, CBC News, Phoenix, Arizona. In New Hampshire. We heard what sounded like several balloons being popped. We all began running in different directions.
Starting point is 00:01:52 One man describes the scene after a gunman opened fire, during a wedding at a country club. It happened in the southern city of Nashua. At least one person has been killed. Several others were wounded. Peter Hinckley is the Senior Assistant Attorney General. At this point in time, there's no further threat to the public. So that's what we stated in the press release,
Starting point is 00:02:12 and we feel confident repeating right now. Again, there was an erroneous statement. There were two shooters. There's only one shooter, and we have a person of interest who has been detained, and there is no threat to the general public. Investigators say the shooting took place as the bride and groom took to the dance floor. Police say the motive remains unclear. The federal government has officially launched domestic public consultations on next steps for the Kuzma Trade Pack.

At Black Fox Farm and Distillery in Saskatoon, Barb's definition, Cote, moves vines aside to show her pumpkin crop in the field. The ones that are orange are smaller than normal. The uncooperative weather means the highlight event of the year for the farm is cancelled. It's pumpkin festival.
Starting point is 00:04:12 We had a lot of cool, wet, rainy weather, and pumpkins like hot and dry. But for some farmers in other places in Canada, it was actually too hot and hot. too dry. According to the Canadian drought monitor, around 70% of the country's farmland has been abnormally dry this summer. We're thinking we could be down as much as 40%.
