Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada's formal recognition of a Palestinian state
is aimed at keeping a two-state solution alive.
Canada joined the UK, Australia, and Portugal yesterday in recognizing statehood.
Today, France and other European nations will do the same ahead of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Carney says recognition can no longer be delayed.
We're under no illusions that this is any sort of panacea.
But it's necessary, in our judgment, we have to push on this now because the possibility of self-determination for the Palestinian peoples is being erased.
Israel is opposing Palestinian statehood and says the wave of recognitions rewards terrorists.
More than 150 UN member nations now recognize a Palestinian state.
The Trump administration is expected to announce a link between the use of Tylenol by pregnant women and the risk of autism.
A controversial claim that has not been backed up by science.
Anisei Dari has more from Washington.
I think it's a very big factor.
Donald Trump answering a specific question about whether Tylenol is linked to autism.
The Washington Post has reported that Trump and health officials in the U.S.
are going to warn pregnant women that they should not use Tylenol.
Acidaminopin is the generic name in North America for the drug.
And the concern, apparently, is that using it for pain relief while pregnant,
could lead to a higher risk of autism in children.
It's something most medical experts do not seem to agree with.
Dr. Christopher Labos is an epidemiologist in Montreal.
This is almost certainly not true.
The vast majority of doctors do not believe that Tylenol causes autism.
Tylenol's parent company writing online, there is no proven link.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said the same.
With other physicians pointing out, some research shows no connection.
And while at least one study shows a possible correlation with higher autism rates
and Tylenol. Correlation is not causation. Any Seidari, CBC News, Washington.
Maintenance workers for the Montreal Metro are on strike. That means the metro will only run
during the rush hour periods and late at night. Service will be disrupted for three days each
week over a two-week period. The workers and the STM are locked in a dispute over wages and
subcontracting. Police in Alberta are searching for a missing five-year-old boy. He was last seen
yesterday morning near a campground on the border with BC. The RCMP are joined by search and rescue
teams from BC and Alberta. Josh McLean has more. The search is underway in an area near Croseness
Pass in southern Alberta. Darius McDougal was reported missing just before noon on Sunday. He was
last seen walking with his family near Island Lake Campground, a rugged wooded area in the Rockies.
RCMP and conservation officers are working with search and rescue teams from Alberta and British
Columbia to find the boy using drones, dogs, and helicopters to try and locate him.
McDougal is four feet tall and has short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray
hoodie and sweatpants. Police say the boy has a medical issue that may prevent him from
responding to others. Anyone who comes across McDougal is asked to contact Crohnest Pass RCMP.

Changes are coming to the Canadian Football League and CFL Commissioner Stuart Johnston
promises they will be big.
We announced a significant step
towards achieving our vision
for the future of the CFL
with innovative landmark changes
beginning next season
through a phased approach.
This will mark a major evolution
of our game.
That evolution involves
moving the location of the goalposts
to the back of the end zones,
currently they're at the front.
The league is also reducing the length of the field
to 100 yards, currently it's 110.
and the size of the end zones will be standardized league-wide.
The league says the changes will make for a more entertaining game.
They will begin next season and be fully in place in 2027.
And that is your world this hour.
