Too many students are packed into overcrowded classrooms in Ontario schools,
and it's hurting their ability to learn.
But instead of helping our kids, the Ford government is playing politics,
taking over school boards and silencing local voices.
It shouldn't be this way.
Tell the Ford government to get serious about tackling overcrowded classrooms
because smaller classes would make a big difference for our kids.

from cbc news it's the world this hour i'm joe cummings in the midst of the growing movement in support of
palestinian statehood u.s president donald trump is scheduled to address the u.n.m. general assembly
this morning carina roman reports few expect u.s president donald trump to be pleased with yesterday's
Two-State Solutions Summit, where a number of countries added their names to a growing list
recognizing a Palestinian state, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt.
He feels this does not do anything to release the hostages, end this conflict and bring this war to a close.
Prime Minister Mark Carney says the danger posed by Hamas, as well as Israel's threatened
annexation of the West Bank and its continued bombardment of Gaza, are why countries are moving to recognize
Palestinian statehood. We take this action as part of a coordinated effort to provide the
possibility of peace and a two-state solution. Trump is expected to meet with a number of world
leaders, but also with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who asked those who stand in the
way of Palestinian statehood to answer the question, what is the alternative?
Karina Roman, CBC News, Washington.
As for Prime Minister Mark Carney at the UN today, he's scheduled to co-chair an event with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
It focuses on the Ukrainian children who have been abducted by Russia over the course of the Russian invasion.
Meanwhile, Russia is looking for a reprieve from a number of international aviation sanctions.
The sanctions deal with airspace restrictions and an import ban on Western plane planes and parts.
Breyer Stewart has a details.
In a working paper submitted to the International Civil Aviation Organization, Russia called the sanctions against it a lawful, coercive measures which compromise flight safety.
Since February 24, 2022, Russia says 37 countries have blocked its planes from entering their airspace.
Bands were rolled out to try and prevent Moscow from importing Western aircraft and parts.
But Andreman Shinen says it didn't lead to fleets being grounded.
He previously worked as an aviation journalist in Russia and is now working in the industry abroad.
He says Russian airlines have been able to keep operating because they're sourcing parts from third-party countries.
The price of the spare parts would maybe multiply two or three times.
Earlier this month, Washington agreed to lift restrictions on Belarus's national airline after Minsk released 52 political prisoners.
Russia is hoping it too can get some sanction.

Disney and ABC have had a change of heart and Jimmy Kimmel will be back on the air tonight.
Steve Futterman reports from Los Angeles.
Last than a week after Kimmel was indefinitely suspended, ABC and Disney reversed course.
And tonight, Kimmel will be back.
In a statement, Disney said its decision last week was to avoid further inflaming a tense situation.
It said some of Kimmel's comments were ill-timed and incensed.
sensitive. ABC's change of heart came hours after a rally took place in front of the theater
where Kimmel's show is taped. Democratic Congresswoman Laura Friedman represents the Hollywood
area. Let us call this what it is. It is an attempt at blatant government censorship. Also yesterday,
400 prominent figures in the entertainment industry signed a letter urging Disney and ABC to put
Kimmel back on the air. While Kimmel will be back on the air, not every ABC station will carry the
show. The Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns 38 ABC affiliates, says it's keeping the show off
its stations. Sinclair says talks with ABC are ongoing. Steve Futterman, CBC News, Los Angeles.
