Too many students are packed into overcrowded classrooms in Ontario schools,
and it's hurting their ability to learn.
But instead of helping our kids,
the Ford government is playing politics,
taking over school boards and silencing local voices.
It shouldn't be this way.
Tell the Ford government to get serious about tackling overcrowded classrooms
because smaller classes would make a big difference for our kids.

A message from the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.
from cbc news it's the world this hour i'm joe cummings in new york city today u.s president
donald trump delivered a rambling address to the united nations general assembly it was a 56-minute speech
that included his opposition to a two-state solution to the israeli-palestinian conflict
Now as if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state.
The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities.
This would be a reward for these horrible atrocities, including October 7.
From there, Trump went on to criticize the United Nations and what he considers to be its inability to end.
to global conflicts.
What is the purpose of the United Nations?
The UN has such tremendous potential.
I've always said it.
But it's not even coming close to living up to that potential.
For the most part, at least for now, all they seem to do is write a really strongly
worded letter and then never follow that letter up.
It's empty words and empty words don't solve war.
And then Trump took aim at climate change.
This climate change, it's the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world, in my opinion.
Predictions made by the United Nations and many others.
They were made by stupid people that of course their country's fortunes and given those same countries no chance for success.
If you don't get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail.
Trump also claimed that without the help of the United Nations, he has ended seven wars.
but while Trump has helped mediate relations in a number of the conflicts,
foreign analysts insist his impact isn't as influential as he claims.
In Ottawa today, the federal government is rolling out the details of its long-awaited
gun buyback program.
The program follows the government banning a wide range of assault-style firearms
with the promise to compensate those who currently own the weapons.
The cost of that initiative has been pegged at roughly $750 million.
The results of a two-year Canadian investigation into TikTok is being released today.
Federal and provincial privacy authorities looked into whether the social media platform
complies with Canadian privacy legislation.
The watchdogs also investigated whether valid and meaningful consent is being obtained
for the collection, the use, and the disclosure of personal information.
They also looked at how TikTok's privacy of practices apply to children.
CBC News has learned that marine land, the once popular
Ontario Amusement Park has applied to the federal government for permission to use it to move
its remaining beluga whales out of the country. Katie Nicholson has the details.
The aquarium features the world's largest acrylic panel.
Shai Long Ocean Kingdom is one of the world's largest oceanariums.
The Chinese theme park is considering adding belugas from Ontario to its collection.
A federal government source familiar with the file confirmed to CBC News that marine land Canada
has applied to the federal government for permits to export its remaining 30 beluga whales.
A 2019 act outlawed keeping whales and dolphins in captivity for breeding or entertainment in Canada.
Camille Labchuck is the executive director of animal justice.
The government is going to have to grapple with a question of is it in the interests of these whales
to be sent to potentially another aquarium?
Andrew Trites is the director of marine mammal research at the University of British Columbia.
He says the animals also.
have to be healthy enough for transport.
Any signs that the animal might be off for any reason,
and all those would be red flags.
Marine Land didn't open this season
and did not respond to questions.
