In a statement, the union called the government's announcement Thursday to drastically reform the postal service appalling.
Ottawa is directing Canada posts to lengthen delivery times and door-to-door delivery and close postal offices that are no longer needed.

Taken together, these measures will help stabilize Canada Post's financial situation
by generating close to half a billion dollars per year.
