Starting point is 00:01:33 thousands gathered for their weekly protest in support of the hostages, urging Netanya not to sabotage the deal when they are so close to getting the hostages released. In London, nearly 500 protesters were arrested at a rally in support of the banned Palestinian Action Group. Organizers were asked to cancel the demonstration after Thursday's attack on a synagogue. But Carolyn Galentor said it was too important to try to stop the war in
Starting point is 00:02:04 Gaza. So because I'm a Jew and because I'm the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I feel compelled to come and do whatever I can to support people who are trying to stop this genocide. The demonstration is the latest in a series defying a government ruling, criminalizing the group Palestine action. At least one person has been killed in a Russian drone strike on a Ukrainian railway station. Ukraine's foreign ministers accusing Russia of deliberately targeting passenger trains. Dominic Volaitis reports. The authorities say two trains were hit at Shulska Station in Ukraine's northern Sumi region. One was a local commuter service, the other was headed to the capital Kiev. At least one person
Starting point is 00:02:52 was killed, 30 others, including children, were injured. Ukraine's rail chief, Alexander Patovsky, believes the attack was an attempt to make areas like Shotska near the Russian border unsafe for passenger traffic. I'm convinced that they're doing everything possible to make the areas near the front line and the border unfit for life, he says. Then people will be afraid to travel there. Russia has stepped up airstrikes on Ukraine's railways, hitting them almost every every day now for the last two months.

A former progressive conservative MLA says attacks on politicians have gotten worse in Manitoba. Rochelle Squires once sat on the opposite side of the legislature from Nahany Fontaine and Bernadette Smith. There are the two NDP cabinet ministers
Starting point is 00:03:47 whose offices have been hit by fires and acts of vandalism in recent weeks. Squire's own constituency office was vandalized in 2016 when she was Manitoba's Labor Minister. I feel really, really disheartened, and my heart goes out to my former MLA colleagues, Bernadette Smith and Nahany Fontaine. It is very clear they are two strong women,
Starting point is 00:04:11 indigenous women, and they're being targeted. Squire says she thinks attacks on women in politics are getting worse. Well, the dome is open, the sun is shining and the Toronto Blue Jays are playing the New York Yankees in the postseason. It is the top of the seventh and the Jays lead the Yankees two to one. Those two homers are courtesy of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk. The Jays are facing the Yankees in the first game of the best of five American League Division series.
