Steve Futterman reports.
The battle to send federal troops into Chicago and Portland is escalating.
This is yet another unnecessary and inflammatory attempt by the President to deploy outside troops in Portland where no intervention is warranted.
That's Portland Mayor Keith Wilson.
On Saturday, a federal judge appointed by Trump blocked deployment of Oregon National Guard troops into Portland.
Yesterday, Trump attempted to circumvent the order, deploying members of the California National Guard.
The same judge rejected that, too, angrily calling Trump's move improper.
Trump, who often gets upset when judges he appoints rule against him, wasn't happy.
