Starting point is 00:00:37 In Gaza, the ceasefire is holding, allowing more aid deliveries to flow into the territory. A vehicle bearing much-needed supplies to Khan Yunus announces its arrival. About 600 trucks a day are now expected to deliver food, medicine, and other equipment. Today's delivery also included cooking gas, which has been absolutely. sent from aid shipments for months now. UNICEF says 50,000 children in Gaza are facing malnutrition. The agency is urging Israel to open up even more entry points to let in more aid supplies.
Starting point is 00:01:13 And in Tel Aviv's hostage square, there is an air of hopeful anticipation as people wait for the hostages to be released. But Udi Goren, the cousin of deceased Israeli hostage, Talhaimi, says he has mixed. feelings. There's a lot of joy on the one hand. We're very thrilled about this. And then on the other hand, for us, for the families of the murder and the hostages, there's a lot of anxiety. As we know that not all of them will be released tomorrow. U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to travel to Israel tonight. He'll meet some of the hostages and speak to the Knesset before flying to Egypt for an international summit on the next phase of the deal. And we've learned that Prime
Starting point is 00:01:57 Minister Mark Carney will be attending that summit. Three Canadians detained by Israel have now been released. Devony Ellis, Sadie Meese, and Nikita Stapleton were on board one of the nine boats in a flotilla that tried to get aid supplies into Gaza. They were stopped by the Israeli Navy and arrested. The three are now in Jordan and are making arrangements to return to Canada this week. Dozens of fighters were killed in overnight border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Tensions have risen after Islamabad demanded the Taliban take action against militants attacking Pakistan.
Starting point is 00:02:34 They say the militants are operating out of Afghanistan. Dominic Bolitis has more. This was the most serious fighting between the neighboring countries since the Taliban retook power in 2021. The Pakistan military said 23 of its soldiers were killed in the clashes. The Taliban said nine on its side died. The latest violence began on Thursday when Pakistan carried out air strikes in Afghanistan, setting off retaliatory attacks by the Taliban. Both nations claim to have destroyed border posts of the other side.
Starting point is 00:03:14 On Sunday, the Taliban said Qatar and Saudi Arabia stepped in to mediate. And although the exchanges are now mostly over, intermittent gunfire reportedly continued in Pakistan. Khan's Karam area on the Afghan border. Dominic Volaitis for CBC News, Bristol, England. There's been flooding in southwest Colorado today. That's a mountain stream overflowing as torrential rainfall overnight caused severe flooding and triggered hundreds of evacuations in Valacito Creek. Residents have now been able to return home. Scientists say the rain came from what's left of tropical storm Priscilla. And for the first time since 2016, the American League Championship Series will be played in Toronto.

Starting point is 00:04:28 This game and this spot comes with a lot of scrutiny and pressure and all that kind of stuff. But I think as long as you're being who you are, whether it's myself, staff, or the players, you're going to be just fine. The winner of this series will head to the World Series.
