On Thursday, another set of heroes for the Jays.

At the plate, the story was shortstop Andre's Jimenez, who hit a game turning two-run

Prime Minister Mark Carney says trade talks with the United States are going in the right direction.
And for now, he's holding off on more retaliatory measures. But provincial leaders with competing interests
in competing industries are demanding a tougher approach from Ottawa.
Kate McKenna has more.
There's times to hit back and there's times to talk, and right now is the time to talk.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is pushing back against hitting back.
It's in response to calls from Ontario Premier Doug Ford for Canada to retaliate against
the United States, following the automaker Stalantis' decision to move Jeep production from
Brampton to Illinois. With 3,000 auto jobs on the line, Ford threatened to cut off or limit energy
sales to the United States.
This schism comes as cracks in Team Canada begin to emerge.
Over the summer, the premiers expressed total confidence in the prime minister's ability to take
on the U.S. administration.
But now the groundswell to get tougher on trade grows, and premiers, sensitive to their
own workers and their own economies, are demanding to be the priorities in trade talks.
Carney finds himself managing a cast of characters with competing interests on both
sides of the border.

A cafe in Surrey has been targeted by gunmen for a third time.
Police say they received a call just after 3.30 the morning on Thursday.
And they say the shooting appears to be part of extortion-related violence,
which is targeting people in the South Asian community.
Ian McDonald speaks for Surrey Police.
The only silver lining in this very disturbing sort of trend
and targeting of this business is that none of the staff have been hurt.
Certainly this has the earmarks of extortion.
Ourselves in terms of Surrey Police Service,
as well as the Provincial Extortion Task Force,
already have eyes on this investigation,
and we plan to move it forward.
There have been 65 extortion-related cases
and 35 associated shootings in Surrey this year.
Similar incidents occurred in Alberta and Ontario.
There's a new push from U.S. President Donald Trump
to end the warm Ukraine and includes a plan
for another in-person meeting
with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Paul Hunter reports from Washington.
Almost exactly two months after U.S.
President Donald Trump sat down with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, a summit
Trump said was aimed at finding peace in Ukraine, a follow-up phone call between the two.
We just had a call, as you know, with President Putin. I thought it was a very good call.
Trump is believed to be frustrated that ending the war has proven elusive.
Russia attacked Ukraine in 2022, and though Trump has often said he could end it quickly,
the fighting rages on.
We hope we're going to get it stopped.
I thought this would be very quick.
Trump announcing he and Putin will soon sit down for another face-to-face in Hungary,
as Trump put it in a truth social posting, to see if we can bring this inglorious war to an end.
All of it.
Just a day before Trump meets with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the White House.
Paul Hunter, CBC News, Washington.
And that is your world this hour.
