with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

This is part of Trump's newest push to try to bring an end to Russia's war against Ukraine.
Trump's role in brokering a ceasefire in Gaza has launched a narrative that he could replicate
that success in Ukraine.
But experts say the two wars have no real parallels.
We are talking about very different types of conflicts.
Maria Snegovaya is with the Center for Strategic and International Studies,
think tank in Washington. Trump's ability to exert pressure on Israel obviously is much,
much higher than the one he's able to exert on Russia. After today's meeting with
Vladimir Zelensky, Trump says he plans to meet Putin in Hungary in a couple of weeks. Mike
Crowley, CBC News, Washington. Samuel Bird's remains have been found. The teenager was missing
since June 1st when he was last seen in Edmonton's West End. For months, family members
and police have been searching for him. Sam Samson has the details.

News that Samuel Byrd's remains have been found hit Alden Boises hard.
The volunteer spent months working with grassroots efforts to find the 14-year-old.
My wife and I, we've been boots on the ground doing what we can.
Volunteers came from across Alberta and other provinces to search for the teenager.
On Thursday, Bird's mother thanked those volunteers in a Facebook post.
Last week, search and rescue teams combed through an area of bush and farmland about 160 kilometers west
of Edmonton. Edmonton homicide investigators believed someone took
bird's body from the city, drove the main highway west, and hid birds' body not far from
road or trail access. On Wednesday, police arrested 38-year-old Brian Farrell. The next day,
investigators found birds remains. Farrell is charged with second-degree murder and
interfering with a body in relation to birds' death. He's facing other charges too. Sam Samson,
CBC News, Edmonton. In BC, a cafe and surrey has been targeted by
gunman for her third time. Police say they received a call just after 3.30 the morning on
Thursday, and they say the shooting appears to be part of extortion-related violence, which is
targeting people in the South Asian community. Ian MacDonald speaks for Surrey Police.
The only silver lining in this very disturbing sort of trend and targeting of this business
is that none of the staff have been hurt. Certainly this has the earmarks of extortion.

already have eyes on this investigation and we plan to move it forward.
There have been 65 extortion related cases and 35 associated shootings in Surrey this year.
Similar incidents occurred in Alberta and Ontario.
The Toronto Blue Jays have now tied the American League Championship Series at 2
with an A2 win over the Seattle Mariners in game 4.
The Blue Jays bats are now alive and well after falling behind in the first two games of the series.
James Strachan is more from Seattle.

After dropping the first two games in Toronto, the Blue Jays have evened up this American League championship series at two,
dominating the hometown Mariners 8-2 in a game that left the Seattle crowd stunned.
The Jays have now scored the Mariners 21 to 6 over the last two games.
On Thursday, another set of heroes for the Jays.
First, 41-year-old Matt Scherzer turned back the clock.
giving up two runs over five and two third innings, his best performance in weeks.
At the plate, the story was shortstop, Andres Jimenez,
who hit a game turning two-run home run and drove in four runs.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also added a home run.
The Jays looked to take the lead in this Best of Seven series on Friday,
sending Ace Kevin Gosman to the mound.
Win or lose, this series is definitely coming back to Toronto.
