I will say that there are earmarks of extortion,
but allow the investigators to do their work and make that ultimate determination.
Indian media is reporting the Bishnoi gang,
an Indian criminal enterprise tied to the extortion of a number of BC businesses
in primarily South Asian communities,
has claimed responsibility in a social media post.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says
Stalantis is looking at finding a new model to be produced
at its idle plant in Brampton, Ontario.
But that decision won't be coming quickly,
and it will depend on the language of a renewed free trade deal with the United States.
Earlier this week, Stalantis announced,
it was moving production of the Jeep Compass from Brampton to its Illinois facility.
Gold prices have surged about $4,300 per ounce over the last few weeks
after years of gradual increases and some Canadian jewelers have been forced to raise their prices.
Jenna Pentatrit reports.
There are certain products that we've already had to increase the pricing on.
The high cost of gold isn't sustainable for Vancouver-based jewelry designer Melanie Oldt,
and an uptick in silver prices isn't making it easier.
The company now sells less fine jewelry and relies on cheaper materials like wood, leather, and stone.
But another Toronto company, Jenny Bird, is taking a different approach.
C.O. Preeti Kapoor says it relies on supplier discounts and delayed shipments to avoid hiking prices.
We're more focused on keeping the jewelry as is, the material as is.
Gold is considered a safe asset when the economy is unstable.
The surge began when investors, spooked by a shaky U.S. dollar, rushed to buy the press.
precious metal. But as analyst, John Inge points out, there's only so much of it to go around.
There's not that much of gold mining going on. According to Ing, history shows those prices are
likely to keep going up. Jenna Benchitit, CBC News, Toronto. After his acquittal of sexual salt,
gold tender Carter Hart is making his way back to the NHL. As Mark Gollum reports, some say it's not
surprising he decided to sign with the U.S. team. It's been a long road to get back to this point.
speaks to the media shortly after his on-ice workout with the Golden Knights.
It was announced he would be joining the Las Vegas franchise.
This comes after he and four other members of Canada's 2018 World Junior Team were found
not guilty in a sexual assault trial earlier this year.
Following the acquittals, the NHL announced that the players would be allowed to sign with
teams as of October 15th, but they would have to wait until December to play.
Dan Mason, a professor of sport management at the University of Alberta, says it makes sense
that Hart would join an American team.
There's not the same level of scrutiny
that the players received as a result of the trial.
Hart had been the starting goalie
with the Philadelphia Flyers for six seasons.
He took a leave of absence
just before the sexual assault charges.
Last month, the Flyers announced
he would not be returning to the team.
In his statement, the Golden Knight
said it expects their players to meet their team's standards.
Mark Gollum, CBC News, Toronto.
In Major League Baseball.
The railroad with a fly ball on the right, he's hit it well.
It is gone, and it is 6 to 2.
The Toronto Blue Jays have now tied the American League Championship Series at two games apiece,
following an 8-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 4.
Game 5 takes place in Seattle tonight.
